Disclaimer: I don't own Twilight, it belongs to SM. What does belong to me though is this plot and any original characters that I add in there. I repeat: I make no profit off of this.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN: THE DENALI MARKET (PART THREE)

"It's going to take at least three days to finish all those arrows."

"And?" Bella asked, before finally realizing it.

The Denali castle is a one maybe two day travel, Victoria was closer than that which didn't give them much time to do much. That was definitely a problem.

It was at this moment that two women entered the tent. Their clothing was much different from theirs, it left very little to the imagination.

"Prince Edward," one of them purred, wrapping her arms around his neck, "Prince Jasper bought us from the nearest pleasure house for you."

"Let us please you sir," the other licked her lips rather seductively. They were good.

If a light bulb had appeared next to Bella's head, she wouldn't have been surprised. Actually she would have, those hadn't been invented yet.

Edward seemed pleased with the attention and he looked about ready to dismiss Bella to have his own fun, forgetting about the war planning they were currently doing.

"How many of you are there in this pleasure house?"

"Tens of thousands my lady," the one sitting on Edward's lap replied, she bent to nibble on his ear and Bella had to fight hard to not roll her eyes at the scene in front of her.

"Edward, how about we slow Victoria's troops down?"

"Huh?" Edward hm'd, all of his brain cells had travelled south.

"Pay attention!" Bella hissed, emptying a goblet of water on him and the seductress on his lap, "Pay the pleasure house to send their best women to Victoria's troops. She's pretty confident now since she's rushing the process. She knows that she arrived earlier than we expected and she's probably thinking that her winning is only a matter of time. Her troops could use some distraction and I'd bet four gold coins that she would reward them with a few… uh… pleasure women if they asked."

Edward grunted, knowing it was a good idea and pushed the woman off of him so he could regain his bearing.

"Tell your pleasure house that I am willing to pay hundreds of gold to pay for their services in favor of our war."

The women smiled pleasantly, it was an offer he knew they couldn't refuse. They may love sex but they loved money even more. More than half of them have probably never even seen more than one gold coin.

"Right away," she purred and hurried off to their main house. The other woman followed after her after sending Edward looks that could harden just about anything.

Edward huffed, rushing his hand through his hair before setting his mind on the task at hand. He looked over at Bella with the snake in her hand, the creature hissed with its eyes openly staring at its healer.

"It's a male," he said suddenly almost startling her.

Bella stared at him for a moment before looking down at the animal in her hands, she was done wrapping the bandages and wasn't sure how to move him back to the cage to avoid harm. The gender of the animal was the least of her concern at the moment.

"Hmm…" She decided to just leave him in her lap, not harm done there. "So what are we doing with the troops?"

Edward frowned, a clear indication for her to keep going.

"I mean," she began "For this plan to work. The arrows lighting up the crops will probably cause her troops to run back right?" He nodded, "So, we should send out foot soldiers now to finish them off from the back."

The prince nodded, sending out a message to the guard outside the tent before sitting down on his chair. He grabbed the goblet of water and took a sip of his drink, all while staring at the wonder in front of him. She made him feel insignificant in this war, probably made Jasper feel the same way too. He couldn't aid in her battle strategies and she somehow managed to come up with a two-step plan as if it was nothing.

"You said you were from Washington right?"

Bella froze, eyes widening and she hoped he couldn't hear the way her heat started beating like mad.

"Yeah?"

"What is it like there?"

She sighed, he was just curious. Still, she couldn't reveal too much about her time. Who knows what could happen to the timeline? Then again, wasn't her interfering with this war going to change some things? Shit.

"Wet," she said briefly, "It rains all the time but somehow clean. There are puddles everywhere and I step in all of them."

"Rain? In the middle of summer? How is that possible? Where is it on the map?"

Shit. Was rain not a common thing around here? She really should've talked to Alice about the place more so she could make Washington sound more like here.

Bella shrugged, "I asked you not too long ago where the Denali Castle was and where the market was not too long ago. I obviously don't know where things are on the map." Nice save Bella.

Edward nodded, having forgotten that.

"What's the education like there?" He asked suddenly, clearly pressing the subject.

"Why are you asking me these questions?" The brunette frowned, looking at a suddenly interesting spot in the wall.

"Because you are strange," he replied then crossed his arms, "you are able to make battle strategies with little effort, you're clearly educated when only high class women are taught, you wore strange garments no other family has and we checked, you act different from most and you have strange sayings that are unheard of in all the families."

All of them seemed to stab at Bella, just goes to show how little she knew about the place. She sighed and tried to think of something close to the truth. She was a terrible liar so as long as some truth was sprinkled in there everything would be fine.

"Prince Edward," She sighed, wondering when she added Prince automatically now, "I can't tell you much okay? I come from a very far-away place and I know things that could help you in the future but I can't tell you them because it could affect time." Shit, that was a little too close to the truth.

Edward's eyes widened. He suddenly bolted from his feet, slamming his hands on the table and causing the chair he was sitting on to fall to the ground.

"You're a priestess?" He hissed, eyes burning.

What? What the hell was a priestess in this time? At her clear confusion, he continued on.

"A woman trained in ways we do not know and know the future. We don't have them in the Cullen family due to the rough training it requires but some families do. It's said that priestesses can read the future but refrain from revealing what they know in order to not upset the Horae and Atropos."

Bella was speechless, not from the information being unfamiliar but because it WAS familiar. She frowned, closing her eyes and was suddenly deep in thought? Where? Where had she heard those names?

"Atropos the goddess of Fate and Harae the goddess of Time…" she mumbled.

Edward nodded, a smile stretching his lips, "yes so you really are a priestess. That explains why you know some things and you act different from most."

Bella was still in thought so was unable to deny or agree with his statement. Her mind was still reeling on how she knew about them, had she taken a class about mythology? Or was it something else? Was this time giving her false memories or something?

"So yes?" Edward asked, impatiently tapping a finger on the desk.

"Huh?" Bella asked, snapping out of her thoughts, "yeah yeah sure." She hadn't heard his question and wasn't interested enough to ask him to repeat it.

The prince nodded and laughed, of course she was a priestess. So she had lied when she said she was unpure, priestesses couldn't have interactions with men. No wonder the blood bond worked, he scoffed, why had she lied?

Bella looked down at her lap before setting the snake gently inside the cage. She'd need to get him something much more comfortable if he was going to stay there. With a sigh, she got up and looked at the map for a moment.

At that moment, Bella made a promise to herself. To study her surroundings and help Prince Edward and Princess Alice as much as she could during this time before she went home. It was the least she could do after all they had done for her.

"Teach me your ways," Bella said staring at the map and where the Denali castle was located, "I want to know about your family and about the other families."

Edward lifted a brow then nodded, priestesses were shun from the outside world for quite some time for their training. Perhaps Bella had just finished hers? He began explaining in length, Bella listened quietly while asking questions when necessary and they both spent most of the night doing so.

A/N: I write this story in one document, I don't separate them in chapters so I tend to forget where I left you guys off at... Sometimes I end the chapter in the middle of a paragraph so it's a bit weird... ANYWAY! Next time we meet Victoria and see how things go from there.

Next time on Secrets of a Murder

"What are your names?" She asked, arms crossed.

"Seth," the archer replied still holding his wrist.

"Embry," the other man replied finally sitting up.
