Okay so I have two ways I can go with this story from here, 1-long and very angsty/drama that will eventually get to bechloe, or 2-wrap it up with a couple more chapters still have some drama and angst, but not quite as much and still bechloe (obviously). I'm having a hard time deciding. SO I need you to read this chapter and tell me your thoughts. We'll have a vote if you will...with cookies and tacos...because they make everything better.

Chapter 7

The sun was just setting as Beca and Aubrey made their way into the local Italian restaurant not too far from campus. After a long argument on where to get food, Aubrey had finally picked up the phone and had ordered some basics from the shop to go, effectively ending the disagreement. The blonde made her way up to the counter to check on the food as she called back over her shoulder to her younger companion.

"Grab something to drink for us will ya?"

"Sure." Beca mumbled as she peered through the glass case holding the beverage choices. Quickly she grabbed for the Pibb Extra on the bottom row and was about to head over to the counter when she turned back. Aubrey probably doesn't even drink soda….uhhh hmmmm…this will have to do. Beca picked a diet tea and brought the items to the counter. Aubrey was leaning against the counter casually as she waited for the man to return her change.

"They said it'll be another five or ten minutes until the foods ready. I guess we can wait in those chairs over there." She pointed at the metal chairs along the wall.

Shrugging, the brunette turned to make her way over to the uncomfortable looking seats. Beca was pretty zoned out as tried to think of something to say to the blonde woman following behind her. The bell above the front door chimed, going unnoticed by the smaller woman. What did catch her attention though was the beautiful voice that followed the noise. That sound could call her to attention from a mile away.

"Beca! What are you doing here?" Chloe floated happily over towards the brunette, but stopped short once she got a little closer. "Bree?"

The red head finally took notice of her roommate standing behind the tiny sophomore and gave her a look of confusion.

"Chloe! Uh hi? Uh what... I uh hi?" Beca stumbled over her words as she took in the site in front of her. Chloe looked gorgeous in jean shorts and a simple white tank. Her red hair was in a messy bun as if she hadn't had the time to bother doing it before running out the door. Put simply, she was a natural beauty. And that caused Beca's mouth to flap open and shut, unable to find full words let alone a sentence.

"Short stack here showed up at our apartment and I couldn't get rid of her. She even followed me here when I came to pick up my order. She's so creepy. I suggest you avoid her, I think she may be stalking one or both of us…" Aubrey tried to make lite as she stood next to the brunette, snapping her out of her stupor.

Chloe's eyebrows scrunched together at the eye roll and gentle punch Beca gave her roommate. The interaction between the two was so friendly, almost flirty? Chloe shook her head to rid the thought. Beca is straight and there is no way there is anything going on between those two. They barely manage to be semi-friends. There is definitely no chance they were flirting.

"I was actually over your place because I thought you and I were hanging out tonight, Chlo. Just my luck I ended up with this one instead." Beca smirked at the blonde.

"Hey! I am amazing company I'll have you know." This caused a suddn wave of thoughts to enter Beca's mind. She slightly flushed at the thought of what kind of company the blonde woman had provided her these past two times they'd hung out.

"Oh crap! Becs, I'm so sorry!" Chloe smacked her hand to her forehead and drug it down her face as she groaned in annoyance. "I completely forgot about my date with Brad and then when he swung by to pick me up I just thought I had my days messed up. I figured I was hanging out with him tonight and you tomorrow. I'm so so sorry Becs!" The red head stepped in to the brunette as she apologized and brought her hand up and down the girls arm comfortingly. "Please please please forgive me?"

Beca could only nod at first, too focused on the tingles the ran through her at the simple touch the older woman gave. After a moment, she regained her composure and threw a wink at the former Bella. "Yea of course Red. I can't be mad at you."

Chloe beamed at her young friend and laced their hands together in excitement. "Awesome! So can I make this up to you? You can have me all day tomorrow!"

The thoughts that jumped into Beca's mind made her flush once again. A small cough from beside the pair caused them to snap their eyes over and notice the tall blonde standing less than a foot away. Beca hurriedly let go of the warm hand she was holding and looked down at her shoes in embarrassment. She had nothing to be ashamed of, it's not like there was anything going on between her and the red head. She apparently has a boyfriend. And it's not like she owed anything to Aubrey…right?

"I think they just called us for our food." Beca spoke up and she turned and rushed to the counter to escape from the awkward tension that had formed between the trio.

After a couple of calming breathes, Beca grabbed the food and made her way back to the pair, catching the tail end of their hushed conversation.

"…whatever you say." The blonde looked annoyed as she crossed her arms. Noticing that Beca was a few feet away, Aubrey spoke a little louder and quirked her head at her roommate. "So where's your boyfriend then Chloe?"

Chloe let out a frustrated sigh, "I've told you he's not my boyfriend..."

"Right cause I suck face with my friends all the time…" Beca crossly mumbled. Apparently a little too loudly, causing the red head's eyebrows to rise and the blonde to choke, sputtering out air. Okay, maybe not the best choice of words…

"We're just seeing where things go. You know…" Chloe played with her hands and focused on the ground as she continued. Beca instantly regretted the rude words that had caused her favorite person in the world to look like a tiny girl being scolded.

"Sorry, that came out wrong." She tried to recover.

"You think!" Aubrey finally managed to catch her breath as she shot daggers at the younger girl.

Beca just rolled her eyes in response. "Yea, so Red, where's your uh… 'gentleman' friend?"

"Oh uh…" Chloe looked around like she had completely forgotten there was supposed to be another person present. "He's waiting in the car. I'm just grabbing our food and we're gonna go watch a movie."

Beca rolled her eyes. Of course the d-bag couldn't even bother to get the food. If Chloe was mine, I'd wait on her hand and foot. I'd never make her run and get the food while I just sat my ass in the car!

The perky redhead's voice broke through her train of thought. "Hey why don't you two join us. We can all hang out together!"

"I don't know Chlo…" Her roommate shook her head.

"Yea Red, I don't think we want to interrupt your date." Beca's hands raised in front of her. "Your boy—uh male friend might not like that."

Chloe just giggled at the brunette's antics and smiled. "No this is totally great. You are the two most important people in my life. You totes need to give me your opinion on Brad."

And with that it was settled. The red head turned and headed back to her car to tell her date the change of plans. A moment later, the woman was coming back through the front door to pay for her takeout. Chloe glanced between the pair in front of her as Aubrey gave the smaller girl a tiny smile and a comforting squeeze on the shoulder. This was going to be interesting.

Beca knew Chloe and Aubrey's couch was big, but how it was managing to fit all four of them at the moment, she had no clue.

Once they had arrived back at the apartment and dished out food, the group had made their way to the living room to watch a movie. Obviously Brad and Chloe sat next to each other on one end of the couch, but the red head had insisted on grabbing Beca's hand pulling the brunette down next to her. What threw everyone was when Aubrey smushed onto the couch next to the DJ.

So there they sat awkwardly on the couch halfway through watching god knows what movie. Beca didn't really care. All she could focus on was the red head's hand that drifted to her side. The romcom on the screen was completely forgotten to Beca as Chloe's fingers lightly ran up and down her thigh drawing circles and patterns. The tingles that radiated through her apparently caused her to lose all control of her body, as the tiny brunette leaned in even closer towards the bubbly older woman. The shift in movement however caused the fingers to stop their efforts and Beca sighed in disappointment.

Glancing over next to her, Beca took in Brad's hand lying possessively on Chloe's thigh. In her opinion, the redhead looked rather awkward with the weight of the foreign body part. But then again, Beca had no right to judge or even guess at their relationship. Heck she hardly knew anything about it. With another frustrated sigh, Beca threw her head backwards against the couch and gazed up at the ceiling praying that this torture would soon be over.

The brunette's head snapped back down however when she felt light thin fingers sneaking their way into hers. Chancing a look up at Chloe, Beca swore the girl looked unaware of what she was doing. A light squeeze and her thumb stroking the back of her hand made her thinks otherwise and she looked up from their hands and back to the beautiful face next to her. Piercing blue eyes quickly shot back to the screen, but the small smile splayed across the older woman's face remained. Unsure of what the heck was going on, Beca nervously gave the redhead's hand her own soft squeeze of encouragement and forced herself to stare at the screen in front of them.

Almost instantly, Beca was rewarded as Chloe brought her thumb in between their hands and began to tenderly caress Beca's palm. Breathing definitely became hard for the shorter woman as the small touches were causing her body to react. Warmth spread throughout her entire body and she had to bite her lower lip in order to refrain from letting any noises out. Beca mentally cursed herself for the reactions she was having to her straight, best friend holding her hand. Seriously, if she doesn't stop I think I might-

"That was an awesome pick. Don't you think so babe?"

Beca's head snapped back to reality as Brad's voice broke through her thoughts. Apparently, she had completely lost track of the movie, not that she cared, and it had finished. Looking to her left, she was comforted by the fact that she wasn't the only one who seemed to be out of it.

"Uh, yea, totes…" The redhead nodded her head and gave him a forced smile.

"Really Chlo? You enjoyed that? I'm pretty sure last time we watched it you said you felt like it was torture to sit through." Aubrey quirked her eyebrow at her roommate. Nothing ever got by the blonde and she was fully aware of what had gone on the entire movie. Personally, she thought you would have to be a complete idiot to have missed it.

"Well maybe she just needed better company to enjoy it!" The man at the other end of the couch smirked and wrapped his arm around Chloe's shoulder, effectively causing the two hands joined at the middle to break apart.

"Yea, um right…" The redhead mumbled causing the quite Beca to jump up from her spot on the couch. Three sets of eyes snapped to her at the haste movement.

"I'm just going to uh head out now I think." The tiny woman shoved her hands into her pockets as she rocked back and forth on her feet. She was unsure of where to look at the moment. Brad had his hand around Chloe and was nodding understandly as Aubrey looked at her pensively. Beca glanced quickly at the object of her affections, but couldn't handle the startling blue eyes that were trying to capture hers. She couldn't read what they were saying, or didn't want to because she didn't think she could handle it. Either way, the brunette returned her sight to the ground and gave a small nod. "Yea it's getting late I should go."

Making her way towards the door, Beca grabbed her keys off the kitchen counter. A firm hand on her arm stopped her movement and forced her to turn around.

"We had plans before the movie." Aubrey stated with a neutral face.

"Uh yea but it's getting late and I still have to walk back to campus…"

The blonde rolled her eyes. "Look we still need to talk." Throwing a look back at the pair on the couch who were watching the interaction intently. "We really need to talk now. I'll drive you back later."

Beca sighed and looked at where Aubrey had just glanced. Chloe was staring at the pair. Confused…definitely. Hurt…well she said she was feeling replaced, so okay. But the short woman was having a hard time with what else the redhead was conveying to her right now. It almost looked like jealousy and…lust? No way…those are just my feelings that I'm trying to find in her right now…I can't—

"Earth to short stack." A snap of two fingers in front of her face brought Beca back to the woman in front of her. "Please?"

The tone the older woman just used tugged at her and the tiny woman felt as though she had no choice but to nod her head in agreement.

"Thank you." Aubrey mumbled as she moved her hand down Beca's arm and grabbed her hand in her own. Silently, she pulled the younger woman through the living room and to her own bedroom. Once the pair reached her door, Aubrey turned her head and threw a quick goodnight to the couple still seated in the same spot. Not waiting for a response, she pulled Beca into her room and silently shut the door behind them.

"I had no clue your roommate was dating a chick!" Brad said wide eyed towards his date.

Unable to take her eyes away from the door where the other two had retreated, Chloe shook her head and mumbled, "I...uh...I didn't either..."

And that's all she wrote. Sorry it took a wee bit longer than I thought to get this up. I just have so many ideas! This story created a little thought monster in my head that won't stop shouting ideas at me. But anyway, let me know what you think.

Signing off.
