Author's Note: Hello all. I greatly apologize for the belated chapter, but I get distracted very easily. Oh, and Mystic nightfury- Thank you for the comment! No one has ever said that I have the potential to write a book before! Here's a virtual cookie! Oh, and Italics is a flashback.
Hiccup's Pov
After the little episode with Pitch, the other Seasons and Guardians seemed more secretive around me. In fact, a couple of minutes ago, Punzie and Bunny were talking about something I couldn't understand-it must've been one of the flower languages- and when I asked 'What are you talking about?', they stuttered, saying that they were talking about Easter and the correct way to paint eggs. It was obvious they were lying. I sighed. What in Odin's name did they think I was? One would think that they thought I was a Jötunn, the way they acted so secretive around me now. I was apparently transporting by turning into leaves again, because I was in the forest. "Oh, now, look what you've done." I muttered to myself. "Now how do I get out?" I knelt down, touched the ground with my hand, and closed my eyes, concentrating and trying to figure out where I was using the Earth. The other Seasons with a connection to the Earth can do this also. I was in Skógr Lykð Svefn, in English 'Forest of End Sleep'. I backed up, intent on getting out of the Forest. Thinking of the Forest made me think of a little bit after I first woke up.
Ugh. Where was I? "Hello? Is anyone here?" I asked. 'I should go and find a town' I thought. I turned to Toothless and said "Toothless, stay here." I wandered into a town called 'Berk'. "Uh, hi, could you please help me? I'm lost and-" I said to what looked like the chief of the tribe and was shocked when he walked through me, like I was a ghost. I put my hand on the shoulder of a Viking girl and my hand went through her. 'I'll figure this out in the morning.' I thought and jumped, trying to get on a tree for a resting place, and I was flying. "What in Asgard?" I yelled. 'Forget trying to sleep.' I thought. "Yeah, and so the kids went into the Forest of End Sleep and were never found again." I heard a large blond boy say. "Whatever. Fishlegs, how can that be real?" Asked a boy with brown hair. "Well, what do you know about it?" Asked Fishlegs.
"Well, I've heard a legend about it: A long time ago, two kids were playing Knattleikr near the Forest and the ball they were playing with got lost in the Forest when the girl threw it. The mother was calling them in for dinner, but the little boy raced after the ball and the girl followed him, yelling at him to come back. In the Forest, all was silent. The children were never found again. Some say that Puki lives there and took the children." Said the brown-haired boy.
I backed up into a tree. "Why don't you stay for a while, dragon-eyes? It's rude to try to run out of a person's home and not announce that you're leaving." Said a voice. I scowled. "Bik Svartr. To what do I owe this pleasure?" I said in a sarcastic tone. "Oh, well that's not very nice." Said Pitch's voice from behind me. I jumped. I hadn't sensed him there. I turned around to find the Boogeyman right in front of me, smiling like Loki. I forced a smile. "What do you want, Svartr?" I asked nicely, gritting my teeth. "Oh, I just wanted to see how my favorite Season's doing. I want to show you something also." Said the Boogeyman. "Show me." I said. "If you insist." Said Pitch and waved his hands. In the air appeared nightmare images, sort of like how Sandy formed his dream sand into shapes. The nightmare sand turned into Toothless, struggling against chains while the witch from earlier cast spells on Toothless. I glared at Pitch. "Why are you showing me this?" I demanded. 'As I said before, I want you to join me. Besides, if you don't, your dragon dies, and wouldn't you die too? Your souls are connected-if you die, your dragon dies, and vice versa. Did I get that correct?" Asked Pitch, smiling a wolfish smile. "You only have little more than a week. Tick, tock, Hiccup, tick tock."Said Pitch. I lunged at him, but he disappeared in the wind, laughing. "Hiccup, what is wrong? We heard you talking to someone; We heard Pitch's voice. He wasn't trying to persuade you, was he?" Asked Tooth. "No." I said, and winced as a pain in my stomach began to form. Stupid witch. "Hey, Hiccup, catch." Said Rapunzel and threw a box at me. On the box was a picture of me but with brown eyes instead of reptilian slits. "The girls already opened theirs. Zel was crying for a couple of minutes. It took us an hour or two to notice you were gone, we were so busy making battle strategies to defeat Pitch." Said Bunny. 'Busy.' I thought bitterly. 'They didn't even notice I was gone? What, am I invisible to them?' I looked down at the tooth box on the ground and noticed some of the trees around me were beginning to lose their leaves. I opened the tooth box and gasped as I was back in Berk.
