Me: Toru left in such a hurry she forgot we had an opener to do. Oh well, remember I own nothing but my own characters.

Previously:

"Ah, Hitomi good you're here, I was just about to call you."

Hitomi's ears perked up high. "What's up?"

"Pack your overnight bag, kitty, 'cause we are heading to Spider island."

"You mean I'm finally going to meet Aranea?" Hitomi said gleefully. She had wanted to meet the spider queen for quite some time.

"Yes you are and hopefully find a connection." Toru said looking at her sword and her new gauntlet.

Chapter 32: The Angels Cometh

Bermuda triangle-Spider Island

A large boat had landed on shore as Toru got off. Hitomi threw the anchor over the side and it landed hard on the beach as she jumped off. It was remarkably clear that day, there was hardly a cloud in the sky.

"Come on." Toru gestured Hitomi to follow her.

The girls hiked through the dense jungle pushing pass the thick bush and vines. The spiders crawled all around them but they were guests so they would be left alone.

As they made their way to Aranea's lair Toru noticed the place looked different. The path ways had switched.

Aranea watched through the eyes of her spiders and had them guide the girls to her lair. When they got there to say it looked different would be an understatement. The floor laid severely fragmented, and strange luminesce red and blue crystals sticking out from everywhere, and on top of that there was a weird energy coming off of them.

"Welcome back, Toru, oh and you brought a friend with you." The spider queen said as she stepped out of the shadows in her true form, crawling down from the roof of the cave.

Hitomi's ears perked up high. "Hi there!" she shouted.

"So you must be Hitomi, a pleasure to finally meet you." Aranea said with a bow.

Hitomi bowed as well. "You too."

Toru rolled her eyes, what the hell was this, a meet-&-greet? "OK, now that we got the pleasantries out of the way, what did you do to this place? Looks like you had some serious interior decorating done." She said with a side smirk

"Hardy-flipping-har. We had an earthquake, smart one. It opened up some pretty ancient pathways and these crystals popped all over the place and I can't touch the red ones.

"Why not?" Hitomi asked as she touched a nearby crystal and it gave her a nasty shock. "OW! That crystal's mean!" she sticks her tongue out at it.

"Its not mean. It appears to be some sort of lacrima" Toru explained as she touched the stone, but nothing happened to her. "Huh, weird."

"Hhheeey, how come she didn't get shocked" Hitomi whined.

Aranea sighed, "I don't know she's weird like that."

"Gee, thanks." Toru said sarcastically.

The girls continued to walk the newly restructured corridors. There were many new passageways and as the spider queen led then she explained how a lot of these corridors had been sealed off millennium ago and were reopened by the earthquake. But Toru found it odd that all this lacrima suddenly popped up as well and the fact that they were giving off so much magical energy wasn't sitting well with her.

Aranea lead them to a large cavern with the red and blue larcrima hanging from the ceiling and a giant 50ft crystal statue with an angel holding a sword.

"Here it is. This is what I wanted to show you Toru. There's a strange inscription on the bottom and its in a language I don't recognize, I was hoping you could translate." Aranea said.

Toru went over to the statue and looked at the inscription. "This is strange."

"What is?" Hitomi asked.

"This isn't any one language its several and they're all lost languages."

Aranea lifts a brow. "But can you read it?"

Toru continued to look at the ancient inscription analyzing it. "I'm not exactly fluent in these languages its going to take me a while to translate." After about 2 hours Toru had finally translated the text. "All right I think I got it. Now keep in mind this is a rough translation. 'On the second 2000th year of the snake on the summer solstice the angels shall come down and the Day of Judgment shall arrive. If not deemed worthy then the cleansing shall begin and a new age will be donned.' Well that doesn't sound good."

"What did it mean by 'cleansing'?" Hitomi asked tilting her head confused.

"I'm a little more concerned about the time this takes place. The second 2000th year of the snake would be 2013. Toru when's the summer solstice?" Aranea asked uneasily.

"Today, at 1:04 a.m. we've got 12 hours." Toru said rather grimly.

To say this was bad would be an understatement they had 12 hours to figure out what to do. With the little information they had Toru understood that if this: if they don't do something soon they'll all die. And to have the world end and not have it done my Master Chase was not gonna happen.

Xiaolin temple-6 hours until the solstice

Everyone at the temple was trying to relax but couldn't, Omi had a large scar on his shoulder where Hitomi injured him. Fighting evil was only getting harder, the only luck they had was in there last showdown and Kimiko barley got out of that without getting a concussion.

While Master Fung meditated he felt a small twinge sending a chill up his spine. He went into the hall of scrolls and found one glowing and as he read it is eyes widened with fear and ran out to where the monks were.

"Young monks we have an urgent dilemma." Their master said breathing a bit heavily.

"What is wrong master?" Omi asked.

"The day of judgment is upon us." Master Fung said grimly.

"Whats the Day of judgment?" Kimiko asked with a raised brow.

"According to the scrolls the angels are to pass judgment on humanity and if not deemed worthy then the angels will erase all of us."

"What you mean kill everyone? Good and bad?" Clay couldn't believe what he was hearing

Their master nodded. "Yes Clay, if they deem humanity unworthy then all of us will cease to exist."

"They cant do that!" Raimundo shouted. "So the world has some evil in it, so what?! Were the ones who fight and try to keep balance, who are they to say whether all of humanity has the right to live or not? If they want a fight we'll give it to them!"

His fellow monks all nodded in agreement.

"Rai you don't understand, the angels aren't the bad guys and you can't just fight them like any of your other enemies. They have powers of like the which you've never seen." Dojo said.

"How can you say they're not the bad guys if they plan on killing everyone good and bad. As far as I'm concerned they're the enemy and we have to stop them!" Raimundo declared with much pride in his voice he couldn't allow this to happen.

Master Fung knew his young monks could not be discouraged. "Very well young monks, the scrolls do tell of the place where the events will take place. But I am afraid you will only be able to rely on your martial art skills for no magic works there."

Omi looked up at his master. "You mean we are heading back to the Bermuda triangle."

Master Fung nodded.

All this talk had Kimiko worried and it just reminded her of what Toru said the last time they were on that island. 'Let me tell you all something; you fight for a hopeless world where the rich get richer, the corrupted corrupt others and the poor and weak get trampled on.' what if there was no hope?

Bermuda triangle-Spider Island-3 hours until the solstice

The hours pasted by and it was getting late. Needless to say the suspense was putting everyone on edge especially Hitomi.

The clouded leopard stopped her feet. "Are we really going to just wait here until they show up?"

"Do we really have a choice?" Toru said rather bored "Its not like we have to much information about this 'judgment day' thing."

"Yeah maybe but that doesn't mean we have to stay here. We should look around; there must be a reason as to why they came here, right? Come on this isn't exactly the center of the world."

Toru looked at Aranea, "She has a point."

As they were about to leave several spiders came sliding down there webs from the roof of the cave. They all squabbled as to tell there queen what was discovered.

"Calm down now tell me whats going on." The spiders whispered in their queen's ear. "The volcano?"

The girls made their way to the center of the island where the volcano lied and saw a large hole in the base of it. Now normally lava would be pouring out but the volcano that was normally active was dry all of a sudden. As they walk into the now dormant volcano what they saw shocked them to say the least: a cannon nearly 1500 feet tall made of a type of metal never seen before. It was partly golden and it had the same markings on it as did the inscriptions on the crystal statue.

"What is that?" Hitomi asked wide-eyed.

"A cannon nearly twice as big as the Eiffel tower." Toru turned to Aranea. "How did you not know this was here?"

The spider queen looked at Toru annoyed. "Oh I'm sorry this normally active volcano is usually filled with lava. What did you want me to do dive in or something and make sure there weren't any weapons of mass destruction in there?" she said thickly laced with sarcasm.

"How do we destroy it?" the clouded leopard asked

"Manufesto!" Toru held her hand up to the dooms day weapon and saw that there was a barrier around it. "We don't, there's a barrier in place and my guess is that it won't drop until the solstice arrives, which is 2 ½ hours from now. When it does we hit it with everything we got."

"Unfortunately for you, you won't get the chance." A deep mysterious voice said.

A surge of energy shot through the girls as they screamed in pain. It wasn't lightning, if it was Toru could have taken the attack. No, it was something else, some sort of magic but she had never felt magic like that before. As the attack subsided the girls past out.

1 hour until the solstice

The girls woke up only to wake in the crystal chamber in 3 strange pods. Toru was the first to wake up in some strange pod filled with some type of liquid noticing they could breathe just fine. The pods glowed with a light green and it was around this time Toru noticed she was naked. Why did they have to put her in there naked, more importantly who undressed her?!

3 armored angels soon stepped in front of the pods there wings where are white as snow. Hitomi could only imagine they would be unbelievably soft too. There were 2 men, 1 of the was a mildly built man standing at about 6'2 with long blond hair going down past his shoulder blades and silver eyes holding Toru's sword and her shield. The other man was built like a professional body builder standing at 6'7 with short brown hair, hazel eyes and a rather mean looking disposition. And then there was the woman she had the body of a model her bright red hair reaching the ground, and her icy blue eyes.

The red head chuckled, "To think she got a hold of your sword and shield Michael; that must be pretty embarrassing. If a mortal was ever able to get ahold and control my weapon I wouldn't be able to show my face in heaven again."

"Be quiet Liza, we both know this mortal is a special case." Michael said with a slight growl in his voice.

"I can understand why she's a live but what about the demon and the beast." The tall one said.

"We cannot bring any harm to either of them until after judgment has been cast Raphael. So until then they must stay here."

The girls then desperately tried to escape the pods by clawing at the thin membrane but it wouldn't give. Toru tried to get through it with magic…bad idea. All three pods shocked them knocking them unconscious again. This time the liquid inside had an interesting side-effect reverting them into children no older than 10 years old.

Liza chuckled again. "Sweet dreams girls." She said in a sing-song voice.

To be continued…

Also no, the angel Michael is not the great angel Michael I don't want to use biblical characters for 2 reasons 1: I might get there personalities wrong and people will get mad at me & 2: people might just get mad. Please 5 reviews. And I'll try to update ASAP.
