Elliryanna: How did you figure it out?! Also, thanks for the help!
Third Person
"How about we have some practice duels?" Asked Flynn. "OK. How about I go against you, Mavis goes against Elsa, and Onceler plays the winner?" Asked Jack, smiling. Flynn shook his head. "That's not a good idea, Jack. You're the spirit of Winter. It would be unfair to us and too unchallenging for you." Said Flynn. "Even if I am the spirit of Winter, I still need practice. Besides, you can then go against another of your teammates." Said Jack. In truth, he did need practice, but that wasn't the sole reason. He partially wanted to fight Flynn, to see how powerful he was. "OK. Let's start." Said Mavis. Elsa, Mavis, and Onceler backed up a considerable distance from the two fighters. Jack struck first by shooting a blast of icy magic at Flynn. Flynn held up his hands as if to surrender. Instead of surrendering, a bluish-green shield appeared, blocking the icy magic. Flynn pushed his hands forward and the shield flew forward at an incredible speed, hitting Jack. Huh. I didn't expect that. Thought Jack, rubbing his head. He got up and flew into the air, shooting at Flynn. The other jumped back, preventing the ice from hitting him. A huge bluish-green hammer formed behind Jack. Jack flew away from it as it hit the air where he was positioned. "Cool." Said Elsa. A shield rushed at Jack. He dodged, but another came at him until he was hit by one. Jack hit Flynn with an ice beam, freezing him. Jack flew down to the thief cautiously. A blue-green aura appeared around Flynn, heating him up, making steam come from the ice as if it was dry ice. It expanded until Jack was thrown back by it. He fell on the ground. However, that didn't help Flynn's problem with being frozen.
Flynn tried moving, with no success. He fell over, successfully breaking the ice. Then, Jack had an idea as Flynn looked for him. He would pretend that Flynn had beaten him to hide how good of a fighter he was. If Flynn knew how good of a fighter he was, then he would know what to expect. Flynn hit Jack with a huge anvil made of light while Jack was looking for Flynn. "Ow." Muttered Jack. It did hurt, a lot. "Wow. Flynn won!" Yelled Mavis, who could see through all the mist. Flynn helped Jack up, which surprised Jack. "Mavis versus Elsa!" Said Onceler. He was making a scythe at the moment that reminded Jack of Pitch's scythe., but with vines covering it. Jack went over to Onceler while Mavis and Elsa were fighting. "Nice scythe. What type of leaves are those?" Asked Jack, motioning to the leaves on the scythe. "Different types of poisonous leaves. This one is wake robin. Causes burning pain. I'm usually not good with fighting, so my plants do it for me." Said Onceler. If only he was on our side. Thought Jack, thinking of the trouble they could cause with Onceler, an expert with poisons. He smiled and put his hand on Onceler's shoulder. Nightmare sand left from his hand during the battle with Pitch came alive and soaked into Onceler's skin. "Good job with the poison plants." Said Jack. He left Onceler, leaving the tall man confused. Let's see how he does with darkness in his veins.
Elsa, so far, had the upper hand. She had successfully trapped Mavis behind ice shards. Mavis turned into an owl and flew between the shards that popped up from the ground. In an attempt to not get hit with razor-sharp talons, Elsa made a large ice shard pop up from the ground. It reflected the sun's rays, hitting Mavis in the eyes and blinding her. She turned into a dolphin, then a bat, then a fox, then a snake. She then fell to the ground, steaming. "I think you damaged her more then you were supposed to, Elsa." Said Flynn. The Ice Queen shrugged. "Oops."
Onceler helped up Mavis. "You OK, Mavis?" Asked Onceler. "Yeah, I'm OK." Said Mavis, a noticeable blush on her face for reasons Onceler didn't understand. "OK, Flynn versus Elsa! Then I play winner!" Said Onceler. He helped Mavis to the sidelines, where they wouldn't get hurt. Onceler touched his hand against the ground. A strange-looking plant arose from the area. "What's that?" Asked Mavis. "Aloe. Helps with burns." Explained Onceler. He dripped the juice from the aloe plant onto Mavis's skin. "Thanks. That feels better." Said Mavis. "You're welcome, Mavis." Said Onceler. By the time Onceler had applied more aloe juice to Mavis's skin, the battle between Elsa and Flynn was over and Flynn had won. "How'd you beat Elsa?" Asked Onceler, surprised. Almost no one could beat Elsa. "Went on the defensive, then caught her off guard and surrounded her in a shield of light. I made the shield smaller until she gave up." Said Flynn simply. "Good strategy. Wait, then I have to fight you. Well, I suppose it's better than fighting Elsa." Said Onceler. He played with his scythe in one hand, idly twirling it. He then struck the long weapon at Flynn, who made a hasty shield before him. It flickered with the impact. Vines grew over the shield, trying to get to Flynn. Flynn's shield dissipated. The vines grew to Flynn's feet, circling them. Flynn made a sharp discus and cut the vines. Onceler bit his lip and swung his scythe at Flynn's back as Flynn cut the vines. Flynn frowned. He sensed something off with Onceler's aura. Flynn heard the 'whoosh' of air and did a back flip in the air, landing on Onceler's scythe. Flynn ran on the scythe to Onceler. The vines tried to surround him, but he was too fast. Flynn shook his head, feeling dizzy. " What is this?" Muttered Flynn as he tried to get the plants off, while still balancing on top of the scythe.
"That'd be the yew." Said Onceler happily. "I hate you!" Grumbled Flynn in a fake happy, sing-song voice. Flynn cut a piece of yew that he noticed snaked around the scythe and connected to the skin of Onceler's leg. Flynn got out his glowing discus and cut the yew. Onceler rubbed his leg, hopping on his other leg, trying to get Flynn off the scythe. "This is so much fun!" Said Flynn as he balanced on the scythe. He then slipped and fell, hanging on with one hand. He then noticed that Onceler had made a tree grow under him, so that the two were in the air. Flynn, trying to not end up like a pancake on the ground below him, tried to get back on the scythe. Then Onceler noticed he was dangling. The tall man made yews grow on Flynn's hands, making Flynn dizzy. His grip slipped. The thief then saw Nightmare Sand on the vines on Onceler's hands and legs. Flynn then knew why Onceler's aura was off. Jack, thought Flynn before he fell, screaming. The group on the ground saw the thief fall, screaming, and Jack smiled as he heard laughter from the clouds. Perfect. Mavis turned into a falcon and flew to grab Flynn. In moments, she zoomed back with Flynn in her talons. "Is he dead?" Asked Elsa. "I don't think spirits can die again. Oh, he's awake." Said Mavis. "Pity." Muttered Jack. "What?" Asked Elsa, looking suspiciously at Jack. "Nothing." Sighed Jack.
"Ugh. What happened?" Asked Onceler, who had come down from his tree in the clouds and looked confused as to why Flynn looked beat up. "You tried to turn me into a pancake!" Said Flynn to Onceler. "What? I don't remember that. I don't remember anything from when I pointed out that yew was on the scythe." Onceler said. Flynn frowned. He shouldn't point out that Jack must've done it-the others didn't believe him. "This place must've infected you. The sooner we get in and out of here, the better." Said Flynn. The others nodded and followed Flynn in the hole. Jack went in last and smiled. All going according to plan.
