Wednesday

Naruto stepped out of the wagon with a huge yawn. He hadn't slept well last night. A buzz in his pants made him stop briefly to answer the call.

"Mornin'."

"You sound tired," said Sasuke with a chuckle. "Where are you right now?"

"Hello to you too." He suppressed another yawn. "I'm at the station."

"Which exit do you use?"

"Why do you need to know that?"

"Tani exit or Uzushio exit?"

"South. I'm takin' a shortcut."

"I had a feeling you would say that. I'm by the store. See you in a bit."

"Huh?"

His question ended up unheard as the call went dead. He slipped his phone back into the front pocket and hurried somewhat. It didn't take him long to find Sasuke. The guy was surrounded by a group of girls when he approached him.

"Mornin'," he said to everyone.

"Oh, so the person Uchiha was waiting for was Namikaze?" said one of them.

He decided to ignore the girls for now. "Good mornin', Sasuke."

"Good morning, Naruto."

"This is unusual," said another girl. "I thought Uchiha didn't show up much to club practice. Are maybe the two of you friends?"

"You could say that."

"Oh, I see! Come to think of it," said the first one. "Who is your girlfriend this week?"

Sasuke smirked and trained his eyes on him. The girls followed his line of direction and laughed good-naturally.

"Namikaze? Really?"

"Yes, really."

They either didn't see or hear the seriousness of that statement. Naruto noticed it though. His eyes widened a fraction at the admission, followed by a strange warmth that coursed through his body. For a moment, he'd thought Sasuke would deny it. Seemed like he was wrong.

"Namikaze! Is Uchiha telling the truth? Are you two dating?"

"It's true," he said with a smile.

"No way!" said the group simultaneously.

"But the two of you do suit each other."

"It's rare though. Uchiha never really tells anyone who he's dating."

"Really?" He looked at Sasuke who shrugged. "Guess I'm just special, huh?"

"Oh yes, very special."

"Hey, is that sarcasm I hear?"

"It must be your imagination."

"Why, you!"

Sasuke laughed as both of them ran through the station and to the outside, leaving the group of girls behind in their wake. Naruto eventually caught up to him and proceeded to tickle him mercilessly. By the time both of them made it to school, they were exhausted but couldn't stop laughing at each other.

It took until halfway through literature class for him to think about the many things you do as a couple. Apart from holding hands and kissing, they had covered the bases. Now that he thought about it, how far had Sasuke gone with his dates in the past? He sighed and let his eyes wander. Coincidently, they fell on Sakura which spawned an idea. After the lesson ended, he approached her.

"Hey, Sakura? Can I ask you a question?"

She looked up with a raised eyebrow. "What is it?"

"Have you and Sasuke had sex?"

The punch was to be expected, but it hurt worse than previous ones. He rubbed at the spot as she practically screeched at him.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! This is why girls always feel let down by you!" she said with a glare. "Don't you feel like you're a waste of your pretty face?"

He said nothing and held her gaze.

Eventually, she sighed. "Why did you ask that anyway?"

"Um." Damn it. He'd not thought this through. "Ah, well, it's just that lately, I've been gettin' along with him pretty well. I was just curious, I guess."

She appeared unconvinced but decided not to press him further. "Sasuke won't touch you unless it's absolutely necessary. Whether it's putting an arm around your shoulders, or simply holding your hand. I've heard rumours about girls trying to force themselves on him, but he never gives in to them."

He hummed thoughtfully. For a moment, he wondered how it was to touch and kiss Sasuke. Would it be the same as with a girl? Or maybe better? Worse? The more he thought about it, the hotter his face felt. Thankfully, the arrival of the person in question distracted him from more thoughts like that.

"Are you plannin' on dominatin' all my free time today?" asked Naruto as he took another sip of the soda.

"Yes," said Sasuke and met his eyes. "Is it a bother?"

"Nah. If I truly didn't like it then I'd say so."

"I see. That's good."

"It's strange, though."

"What is?"

"Well, you've been payin' for my food all of yesterday and today. This too," he said and held up the can.

"It's nothing, really. It's only normal to treat the one you're dating."

"But to do it two days in a row? I'm not a girl, you know."

"I never said you were."

"Anyhow, let me treat you someday?"

"If it'll make you happy. Just remember to bring your wallet."

"Hey! That was one time."

They looked at each other until both of them burst out laughing. He shook his head and looked down at the girls gathered around, squealing and conversing with each other.

"There seem to be more girlish screams since I started hangin' out with you."

"You don't like girls?"

"It's not that I don't like them. It's just... If there was even one person among them who could love everythin' about me then that would be enough."

"Is that right? I think there should be plenty of people like that."

"That's rich comin' from you."

"Maybe." He smiled. "Naruto. After school, let's–"

"Go to club practice."

"What about you?" he said with a raised eyebrow. "Aren't you going to go?"

"I don't really feel like it."

"Then what makes you think I will?"

"Because I asked you to."

Sasuke looked like he wanted to argue but only sighed. "All right. I'll go."

"Great." He smiled. "Also, I'll wait for you. So call me when you're done, but if I get too impatient I might leave first."

"You won't. I can guarantee that."

Arrogant, much? He shook his head and finished the drink. His eyes wandered for a moment until they fell on Sasuke. Though he knew this from the beginning, he truly was a handsome guy. There was no doubt in his mind that if he went into modelling, he'd become number one in an instant. Also, how did he style his hair like that? Before he knew it, he reached over and touched the dark strands. No products. That's a surprise. Sasuke startled and trained his eyes on him.

"Um," began Naruto to break the silence. "I–"

A loud chime broke the moment. Suddenly, Naruto panicked when he realised the time.

"What's wrong?"

"I forgot that I have to change classrooms for the next period!"

"Oh, I see."

"I gotta go, see you!"

Naruto leaned in for a quick peck before he rushed to get his things. It wasn't until he took his seat that he realised what he'd done and couldn't concentrate on the lesson at all.

Love was in the air at one of the most romantic spots. Some of it was fine, subtle. The rest needed a right kick in the chin with the amount of PDA. Then again, it was mostly his fault for coming to a place where couples roamed. He sighed and looked up at the sound of footsteps.

"Hey, good work!"

"Thank you. Did you wait long?"

"Not too long, thankfully," he said and stood up. "So, did you get any praise?"

"Some and a bit of teasing."

"That's because you're not serious about it."

"Oh? And I guess you are?"

"Of course. For one, I'm there a lot more often than you."

"I guess in that sense you got me beat."

"Huh."

"What?"

"Nothin'." He smiled. "I guess even you can admit defeat every once in a while."

"Don't get your hopes up. It won't take much for me to beat your ass."

"Oh yeah? Try me!"

They shared a laugh as they wandered around until both of them stopped by the railing to look at the view.

"It's been a while since I've come here," said Naruto. "It's the same as usual, annoying couples everywhere..." he trailed off until a thought struck him. "We're one too!"

"Yes."

"That's right." He smiled. "Don't you think... you should come here at least once every week?"

Sasuke's smile dropped in an instant. Naruto felt a need to apologise but in the end, decided against it.

"I guess some people do like coming to places like these, but there are also people who don't."

The statement rang so true that he felt no need to add anything else. He felt like he'd say something wrong again. He looked over Sasuke's shoulder where a couple stood with their lips locked together. He wanted to do that. Well, under normal circumstances what with the atmosphere and such, he probably would kiss, right?

As if on instinct, he took a step closer to Sasuke. He didn't seem to mind as he closed the distance between them. The surprise gave away to an indescribable heat. All Naruto knew was that he needed to get closer somehow, but couldn't find the courage to do so. It didn't matter as his wish was granted either way. His eyes fluttered closed as something warm and soft pressed against his lips.
