Hello again everybody, I'm back with chapter 13. I hope you guys gave liked the story so far, and tho time, I'm changing it up a bit. No action in this one. Just pure absolute romance. Sailor Taichichi Vegeta: Yeah I figured he wouldn't really expose Max to everything going on, but Ash kind of fixed that I suppose. I like how you put that "Way to go Ruby, you made a girl cry". When it's put like that it kind of sounds funny. Yeah I could see how you would think that. But it was just a rivalry to see who is better than the other, not really contempt between the two aside from Ash rejecting the offer to be an Aura Guardian.

Advanceforeverandafter: Believe it or not I was planning to have this chapter almost entirely dedicated to the romance aspect of this story. I figured I wasn't doing the best I could do with it. So, no action in this one. Well, maybe, but I hope you enjoy it

Chapter 13: Like father like Son

"Hey calm down we were just sparring, no need to get violent" Riley said as the guards were escorting them back to the castle very aggressively. Ash smacked Riley upside the head "What was that for!?" Riley cried out. "Think about what you just said for two seconds, then you can yell at me" Ash said. Riley paused to think "Oh, yeah. I guess we did get a little violent back there" he said while rubbing the back of his head. Ash sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Sometimes I don't know whether to hit you or send you to a mental institution"

"Hey!" Riley yelled

"Riley!" Sir Aaron called from the gates of the castle with a Lucario at his side "What did you do this ti-" he cut himself off as he saw who the second person was and continued to stare at Ash till the guards who had formed a circle around Ash, Riley, Lucario, and Pikachu and confiscated their weapons. The group stopped just outside of the gates of the wall that surrounded the castle, the people who had been being escorted to the safety of the castle were just turning the corner into the castle itself. "Release them, I will punish them myself" Aaron said. The guards looked a little uncomfortable "Sir Aaron, we don't really take orders from you so we can't allow you to-"

"I said release them" Aaron said with a dangerous edge to his voice. The guards all paled and gave back the boys their weapons and began walking towards the approaching royal families and Aqua Guard Generals with their leader who were treating them as a threat, their weapons drawn. "Seriously? We didn't pull out a single sword or weapon of any kind except our fists and you guys thought we were fighting?" Riley said as they approached.

"Ash!" May yelled and ran up to him while checking him over for injuries "Aww, Ash you got all dirty" May stated/complained. She licked her thumb before wiping some dirt of his cheek with it. "Wait, wait, wait. Ash? Since when did you tell people your name? And since when did you marry the princess of Hoenn who I thought had been trapped in Saffron somewhere" Riley questioned

The second he said the word marry Ash and May froze, the reality of May's actions seemingly crashing down on both of them. Ash coughed and May backed up with a huge blush on her face. "Oh, well I just made things awkward didn't I?" Riley said, pointing out what the obviousness of the situation. Ash sighed again and slapped Riley upside the head again. "Would you stop it!?" Riley cried while holding the back of his head. "I will when you stop being an idiot Riley" Ash said, giving him a dry look.

"Riley stop teasing Ash. You don't want him to bring up the Sabrina card do you?" Aaron said. Riley visibly paled and shook he head back and forth and quickly apologized to both Ash and May. Ash at that point turned and finally acknowledged Sir Aaron's presence. "Aaron" Ash sated dryly

"Ash" Aaron said, the two having a stare down. Aaron held out his hand, as if closing a business deal "My offer still stands, if you would just accept..." Aaron said, leaving off at the end for Ash to accept or deny. "Tell you what, burn in hell. How does that sound?" Ash said with venom in his voice

Everyone gasped, Sir Aaron's Lucario growled. No one, and I mean no one, spoke to any Aura Guardian like that, ever. Anyone who could say they insulted an Aura Guardian was already buried six feet under. "Well...shit. Here they go again" Riley muttered. "You already wear our hat, I don't see why you don't simply accept. With you on our side we could help the people again, you are powerful beyond your own comprehension if you just come with us and harness it. I promise that your life would be ten times better than it is now. You could actually be happy for once in your life" Aaron said, trying one more time.

"Why don't you take that offer and shove it up your fat, lazy ass. It's just a hat, it has no emblem and as far as I'm concerned, it's a gift. Besides, I'm happier knowing I don't have work with someone who can't even save his wife's life" Ash yelled. Aaron bent his head down in shame at the mention of Delia, "Ash, don't you feel any remorse for all those people who have losses their loved ones? You could help prevent such tragedies from happening. With you with us, we could take back Kanto and restore everything to its natural balance"

"That ship sailed a while ago. I'm never joining so why don't you fuck off?" Ash said before turning and storming back outside the castle, not wanting to take his anger out on someone. "Ash!" May called out and began to run after him.

"Leave him be, once he gets mad he gets irrational and does things he usually regrets" Ruby stated. They all turned to him, just noticing that he had been listening the whole time. But May ignored Ruby and ran after Ash with Pikachu just behind her and Eevee in pursuit.

He turned to Sir Aaron "I don't know what you did, but you really fucked up. Ash is one of the few people I wouldn't want as an enemy". But Aaron wasn't paying attention to him. He was having a silent conversation with Riley and the Lucarios.

"Did you see it?" Aaron asked using Aura

"I did Master" Aaron's Lucario said, "As did I Sir Aaron" Riley's Lucario said

"Saw what? A pissed of Ash about to go destroy half the forest?" Riley said sarcastically

"No Riley, we'll talk about it later" Aaron said "Now is not the time"

-Ash's POV-

Who knew pain would feel so good

Then again, anything was better than being within fifty feet of that prick. I shouldn't really be doing this but, something needed to be punished and, though he'd never admit it, Aaron was better than him. Taking him in wasn't going to end well for him, at best he would get a few blows on him.

So the tree would be his solution. Yes, this poor tree that was now dented and slowly being torn of it bark. This tree that had been stained with the my blood, the one man who was too furious to stop punching it, whose knuckles were battered and bruised. I was going to regret this tomorrow, when I could probably not make a fist. But fuck it, I was always a fast healer. And the tree could hold its own against me, although not all trees could. Just take a look at the one's I'd cut up when I learned May was a princess. That had really pissed me off. He'd just thought she was a beautiful girl that Drew had been chasing around, which is still kind of true

"Ash stop!"

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear

I froze, my fist just and inch away from the tree. I brought my hands to my side and turned to face her and the two quadrupeds at her feet. "What do you want?" I said harshly. Alright, maybe I was being a dick.

"What's wrong with you? Why did you get so mad? And stop punching the tree, it hurts to see you like this" May said

I leaned against the tree and took off my hat and dropped it on the ground. I slowly slid so I was sitting, probably with a glum look on my face. "Why would you care? I'm just a lowly mercenary. I'm probably going to leave the second your hospitality runs out. Do you really want to care about a piece of shit like that?" I asked

"Ash" May said quietly, she walked over at sat down next to him. Pikachu ran up and stood a foot in front of me with Eevee at his side. "What's wrong with you? You can tell me" May said to me, trying to get me to look up. "What kind of a person lets their wife and child die?" I said, finally looking up "Who purposefully lets their family die just because Queen Rin "needed" you at her side? How fucked up do you have to be to do that?"

"What do you mean?" May asked

"Sir Aaron let my mom die. He was stationed at Cameron and two armies were going to clash just outside of Cameron Palace in a week, at the least. It's a three day travel by Pidgeot to Pallet Town and back. But he didn't want to risk it, so he left us there to die. My mom, I don't even know how she died. I didn't even know English for the first ten years of my life. I was running around half naked with a wild group of Pokemon killing other Pokemon to survive. I could've been normal, I should've been normal. I wouldn't have cared if Aaron turned out to be an actual father or not. It could have been just me and my mom. But someone found out that I'm the son of Sir Aaron" May gasped at that "And when Giovanni caught wind of it, he burned my home to the ground and killed my mother. If he'd just took the one and a half day travel there, we could've gotten out of there. He could've even stopped them, or sent someone else. Anything just to show he cared about what happened to us" I said, his voice quieting towards the end

May was speechless, all of that happened to him and he was still standing here today. It was nothing short of a miracle he was still alive. "And then, then he thinks he has the right to start fucking talking to me. To try to be a nice dad and make up for his mistakes, like nothing ever happened. As if his wife didn't exist" I said with a hollow voice. "Who would have guessed that the great Sir Aaron was capable of something like that"

I could tell May was struggling to say something, I don't blame her. She came after me, without knowing if I was stable enough to even listen to her, and I am kind of a psycho so that takes some balls. "But why can't you make up for the time you lost now?" May asked.

Okay, that pissed me off a little. "What if Norman let Caroline die in front of you and left you for over a decade. When he finally comes back, would you forgive him? Would you bring him back into your life with open arms?" I asked. Arceus I'm an ass, but I'll regret it later. Anger is for the present, not the future. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm going to regret all of this. I just told someone my past that wasn't a Pokemon

"Maybe not, but shouldn't you be mad at King Giovanni? He was the one who killed your mother" May said. I'll admit I'm definitely going to kill that bastard, and yeah, I'm probably taking out the anger I currently can't take out on Giovanni on Aaron right now. But still, the ass deserved my wrath as well. I'm not going to kill him, but I ain't going to like him. "Yeah he was, but does that mean that someone who could've prevented it should be exempt from my anger?"

"Ash" the way she said my name. Every time she said my name it sent shivers down my spine, can't really call it bad though "Don't you think you should forgive and forget? If you dwell on the past, you can't look to the future". I barley heard her, when did her hand get in my leg? What the hell is wrong with me today? Oh yeah, daddy's home.

"I don't really mean forgive your dad, but you don't have to take your anger out on him. You can take it out on Kanto and Giovanni" May said

When did her eyes become so alluring? They're like two beautiful sapphire pools. Wait, what did she just say? Something about Kanto I think? Is this what Ruby meant when he said I got "it" bad? I thought it was a disease, but if it is I'll die happily.

"And what did Sir Aaron mean when he said you'll be happy for once? Are you always sad?" May asked

"No, things just never tend to work out in my favor. He's talking about Serena though, that's the only person he's seen taken from me. I met her in the woods and, I'll admit, I fancied her. She and this Fenniken were in a tight spot with an angry group of Pokemon and Pikachu and I helped them out. We traveled around for a while and, well... she got her throat cut. First person I liked maybe even loved got killed. There was Brock too, he traveled around for a while with me and Meowth. But he got taken into custody, some bullshit excuse about illegal rock Pokemon. I don't know what happened to him afterwards but I hope he's okay. There was Iris and Cilan too. Cilan was cook, going around trying to make it big by working at restaurants all over the world. We found Iris in the Village of Dragons with an Axew. For some reason she joined us too, but like all the others they left too. And by left I mean they came with me to Jhoto and got taken as "conspirators of the resistance". They just tried to help a Pokemon some soldiers were beating, I was on a job at the time. There was Bianca too, Meowth left me, so many people and all of them just... poof. Gone"

-May's POV-

He looked so... crushed. He was staring at nothing while he talked, I don't think he even realized I was here anymore. He just kept reminiscing about all the bad experiences he's had. It was sad to see him like this, so depressed and hopeless. Like he didn't believe he could be happy. Pikachu looked just as sad, ears flattened, head down, he looked like he was in as much pain as Ash. Eevee was following my lead an trying to cheer him up as well

The worst part was that girl he talked about, it hurt when he was talking about her. He might have loved her? I even think I saw him smile, not something you got to witness often with Ash. Do I make him smile when he thinks about me?

"Then there's you" Ash said, turning to face me "How long will it be to you're gone? A day? A week? You'll be gone at some point, just like the rest" Ash said, his soft brown eyes burning into her blue ones. She moved her hand from his leg to his hand. Wait, from his leg? When did I do that?

"But I'm here now Ash, doesn't that count for something? Stop remembering the bad things and cherish the times you've with those people. And cherish the ones you'll have with all the people you'll meet and are with" I said. His face was so close to mine, we were just inches apart. When did we get this close to each other?

"Arceus you look beautiful" Ash muttered. That was it, I was in love.

Smiling I grabbed his face in my hands and kissed him

-With Sir Aaron and Riley-

"You didn't see it?" Riley asked. "See what? There was nothing to see. You got Ash mad again and that's all that happened" Riley cried out, angry that he's the only person that didn't see "it"

"If you had been paying attention Riley, you would have seen Ash's eyes" Aaron said. "Yeah, and what about them?" Riley asked a little ticked off

"They were blue"

Hm, so yeah, no real action in that chapter. But I hope you enjoyed, I was really just focusing on the romance part this tome around. I'll be sure to put more action in the story later. I'm hoping to get some good ideas soon. Oh, and I'm going to see the Godzilla remake, never even saw the original, but that's beside the point. I'm thinking about putting Riley and Ruby against each other and maybe throw Sir Aaron in the battle at some point. And then, guess who's back? Yeah, you know who it is
