Sup' guys? I'm back once again and I hope you enjoyed the last chapter, kind of all romance. Sorry if you aren't a fan of all that. Anyway though I'm starting back with Ash and May during their little "session", and no... this will not contain a lemon, ever. So, please stop asking for one. But anyway, thanks for everything and I hope you like the chapter.
Flamin'Moya14: Yeah, I don't know how it is to have a father abandon you, but some kids at my old orphanage told me a bit. before I got adopted that is. But, I didn't exactly mean that he was in a relationship with Queen Rin, just that she kept him form leaving even though he would have enough time for the ride there and back. But I like your attitude, kick him once more for me, eh?
Advanceforeverandafter: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I will be resuming from that part as you are about to see but...every detail? I'm not exactly good when it comes to romance, but I'll give it my best and we'll see what happens. Oh and thanks for reviewing
jojo298: Glad you liked it so much and thanks for reviewing
Sailor Taichichi Vegeta: Ha, that's the reaction I wanted from that bit. Mmmmm I wouldn't be to sure about either of those options, but I might have a change of heart at some point, and yeah, maybe I did go a little overboard with how many people he lost. But i wanted to include as many characters that I could remember off the top of my head. Alright, when I first read that, I got a good chuckle out of it. And thanks for reviewing every chapter, you the man Vegeta, who happens to be a sailor.
Chapter 14: It's... Complicated
It was weird at first, he certainly hadn't expected this to happen. He don't know why he hadn't pulled back or, if he wanted to be rude, push her away. This would only lead to trouble, he could feel it amongst...other things, that he was experiencing at the moment.
But this was bad, right?
It didn't seem like it, how could this be bad? It felt so pure and pleasant, like sunshine. Yeah, just like sunshine. Ash put his hands on her hips and brought her over so she was straddling him and pulled her close to him, strengthening their kiss. Ash suddenly felt her nibble on his bottom lip and obliged to her silent request, opening his mouth and letting her tongue begin searching his mouth for something that didn't exist.
When the hell did she learn to do that? Ah, what the hell do I care? She's mine right now. They slowly parted from each other, both of them looking deep into each other's eyes. Searching for any regret or indecision. "May" Ash said softly and she saw it, the remnants of his resolve to end this, to walk away, were fighting to rise up and come into effect.
She destroyed it
Her lips were back on his the instant she saw it, reducing his self-control and resolve to nothing. She wrapped her hands around his neck and ran her hands through his hair. He drew their bodies even closer to each other and May moaned into the kiss, their heat growing with that of the kiss. Their tongues exploring each other's mouths. Pausing only to draw breath for less than a second before reconnecting their lips. But finally they separated, both of them gasping for air with their faces flushed.
"I...um" May stuttered out, looking down, unable to form a coherent sentence.
"Yeah" that was all Ash needed to say. Their eyes met once more and a mutual understanding passed between them. It'd be a secret, for now. And as they stared into each other's eyes they couldn't help but kiss each other once more, this time slow and gentle. They separated for the last time, of the day that is...probably. May stood up, finally allowing Ash to get up. May wouldn't meet his eyes at first, her face completely red and she was admittedly a little ashamed that she'd just taken a kiss from him. Even if it had lead to that.
Ash just chuckled at her expression causing her to blush even harder. He turned to leave but his yellow partner stood in their way. He was frozen in place, his mouth hanging open in shock with an ecstatic Eevee next to him.
"Uh, Pikachu? You okay buddy?" Ash asked. Pikachu didn't respond and kept staring blankly at the spot his friend and his now... girlfriend? had previously occupied. "Is he alright?" May asked, slightly worried about the dumbstruck mouse. "Yeah he'll be fine. Let's just give hims little to collect himself" Ash said before picking up his hat and walking back to the castle. Leaving the still frozen Pikachu behind, with a now excited Eevee who was a... different, kind of excited. Unknown to the couple walking away and the electric mouse Eevee began to slowly walk towards Pikachu, a sultry look on her face and appearing in front of. Pikachu recognized that look and, although still in shock, took of running into the woods followed by Eevee.
-Later-
It had been rather awkward when he turned to go one way and she the other. What was he supposed to do? Should he have given her a kiss? A hug? Nothing? In the end he did give her a quick peck on the lips before leaving. So much for the whole 'last kiss of the day' thing. But as he went his way and she hers, both knowing that the other wouldn't say anything about what had occurred to anyone else.
"There you are" he heard Ruby say from behind him. He turned to his friend and smiled "Did you need me for something?" Ash asked, Ruby paused for a moment "Depends, are you going to rip out anyone's throat?" he asked, referring to Ash's moderate, but deadly temper that might still remain after its burst from the conversation with his father.
"Depends, are they going to insult me?" Ash retorted.
"Point taken" Ruby said "Alright well I've noticed, and I'm sure you have too, that the Aqua Guard isn't exactly in the best of shape right now. With Riley here I figured the three of us could shape them up to their former glory. What do you think?" Ruby asked. Ash scratched his cheek for a moment "Willwe get to kick their asses?" he asked. Ruby grinned and nodded "Well, I'm up for it but don't you think that Green, Blue, and Sapphire are going to get mad that you're training their troops?" Ash said
"I already talked to Archie and suggested a collaboration between the Magma Core and the Aqua Guard, he agrees that this will be beneficial to both parties and that working with the generals will make working with each other in the field a lot easier" Ruby said.
"Alright then, lets go and find the idiot" Ash said before walking towards the castle gate, opposite of where he was originally headed. "Oi, Riley!" Ash called out as they spotted their friend laid back on crate with his hat over his face, undoubtably fast asleep. Riley never stirred form his slumber though. "You want to do it? Or should I?" Ruby asked.
"You do it, my hand still hurts from slapping him upside the head too often" Ash said with clutching his in mock pain. "Then don't hit him over the head" Ruby said while quietly approaching the sleeping Riley. "That's like asking me to not hate Giovanni. In other words, impossible" Ash retorted. Ruby just grunted before winding up and punching Riley in the stomach and shoving him off the crate.
Riley groaned form the ground, clutching his stomach "Why do guys have to be so mean to me?" Riley complained. "Because you wouldn't wake up so this seemed like the only solution" Ash said
"Did you even try to wake up? Or just go straight for the punch?" Riley asked, still curled up on the ground. "I called out your name loudly" Ash said
"And?"
"And what?" Ash asked
"And what else did you try to do to wake me up?" Riley asked
"Oh, punch you in the stomach and shove you off the crate you were sleeping on" Ash said. "You guys are both assholes you know that right?"
"No, if we were assholes than we would go find Sabrina and tell her about the crush you got on her" Ruby said
Riley's eyes widened and he looked at Ash "You told him?" he cried out. "No he didn't, it's not hard to tell. Every time her name comes up you start to gush like a teenage schoolgirl" Ruby said "It was really easy to figure out"
"Ha! you don't know where she is, so even if you wanted to, you couldn't tell her. Your blackmail just became invalid" Riley said confidently, finally standing up. "She's leading a resistance against Giovanni in Kanto along with some guy named Lance. Her wanted poster is everywhere around Kanto" Ash stated. "How'd you know?!" Riley said while glaring. "Well it's not like I work in Kanto or anything, nor have I ever been hired by them to get food and weapons. Nor, as I just said, is her wanted poster everywhere. Nothing like that at all" Ash said sarcastically
Riley turned to Ruby "You wouldn't tell her though right? You've never even met her".
"Hmm, you got a point, but Ash would" Ruby said "You know what, whatever. Will you help us train the Aqua Guard into shape?" Ruby asked. Riley thought for a moment "No" he said
"Are you seriously saying no after we just talked about how we could blackmail you?" Ruby asked. Riley paled "Oh shit I forgot about that!" he exclaimed. Ash sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose before smacking Riley upside the head. "You know you earned that one" he said when Riley glared at him while clutching his head.
"Ash you can beat up Riley later. For now, save it for the Aqua Guard. Riley stop being a pussy about it and let's go" Ruby said while waling towards the training grounds where said military division was most likely to be. Both of them just began to follow Ruby towards the training grounds. When they arrived on the seen they were greeted with gasps of air coming from one of the many platoons of Aqua Guard and the angry complaining of the two female generals with the male just watching in disappointment.
"Wow, I guess they do need to get it together" Riley said. Ruby nodded and looked around for a moment before spotting his squad leaning against a wall, watching the platoon workout. Ruby walked in-between the generals and the platoon while they were in mid-yell, cutting them off for a moment before they resumed almost immediately after. He walked over to Butch "What have they done so far?" he asked the giant axe wielder. "About five laps around the training ground. They kind of just stopped on the fifth though" Butch informed him.
"Arceus that's pitiful. What the hell happened while we were gone? They used to be rivaling us" Ruby said "Whatever, I'm going to go and get this started. You know the drill with you guys and I will be watching you too" he said as began to walk over to the generals, beckoning Ash and Riley over with them. They converged behind the two woman who had yet to stop yelling at the platoon, standing next to Green. The four just watched for a moment "Archie wants us to help you guys train your platoons" Ruby stated, figuring that Green seemed like the kind of guys who like to get right to the point. Green just sighed "Good, as you can see, we can definitely use it".
Ruby nodded and walked up behind Blue and put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her from insulting one platoon member. She looked over her shoulder at him, causing Sapphire to stop yelling too. He took a step forward so her stood a little head of the other two and addressed the now mostly recovered platoon. "Platoon A!" he shouted, drawing everyone's attention to him "That's your new name. Platoon A. You are no longer Bill, Mike, Cara, Frank, Julia, or whatever the hell your name is. Your one and only name is "a member from Platoon A". And until you become a unit, until you work together to become a formidable fighting force, you will not get your names back. I will be working with your generals and my associates the mercenary known as the Ranger, and the Aura Guardian known as Sir Riley. These people have earned their names, you have not. And if I or anyone of us hears one of you call each other by anything other than "platoon member", regardless of whether or not we are training. I will have you run till you throw up. AM I UNDERSTOOD?!" Ruby said, shouting the last part.
The entire platoon had recovered by the time he was done, while they didn't know the leader of the Magma Core as well as they did their generals or Archie, they had seen and heard enough to know he would follow through with that threat. They all shouted "YES SIR" in response, their voices filled with equal parts respect and fear. "Good. I'm glad we understand each other" Ruby said "Now, we're going to do ten laps around the training ground and then I will teach you how to work as a unit". His declaration was met with a chorus of groans and complains "Well since your all so fond of the idea how about fifteen? Yeah, that sounds pretty good to me" Ruby said "Anyone want to voice how much they like this idea?" he said threateningly. No one said anything
"Nice to see you figured out how this works. Now lets go" he said and the platoon took off, Green, Blue, and Sapphire running along with them on one side to make sure no one slacked and Ruby, Riley, and Ash on the other.
-Just Before Dinner Time-
"Alright that's enough for today!" Ruby yelled out to to Platoon F. All the members collapsed to the ground, too tired to move. Ash kept himself upright but he was still breathing hard. "Ha, look at you. You out of great from just that. You are out of shape my friend" Riley said, perfectly fine.
"Who the hell are you to talk? All you did was show these guys how to use a sword and walked around yelling at those who got it wring, only stopping to demonstrate to anyone who thought themselves tough enough to doubt you just how effective the methods were. I was running around with everyone to condition them" Ash stated
"Jeez you didn't need to make it sound like I didn't do anything. You're an asshole Ash. No, no ,no, wait. You're and Ash-hole" Riley said before breaking down in laughter "Get it? Like Ash and asshole combined... right? Guys?" Riley said, trailing off at the end when he heard the smack that came from Ruby slapping his hand to his forehead and the blank stares he received from both Ash. "It wasn't that bad" he exclaimed
"You're right, it was worse" Ruby said before turning to watch the retreating platoon. They had gone through the six platoons that made up the Aqua Guard. Each platoon having sixty members in it. The generals that oversaw their operations were currently trying to regain their breath. Green leaned against a wall with his head tilted up towards the sky with his eyes closed, Blue had her hands on her needs and was staring blankly at the ground, Sapphire simply laid flat on her back and was staring at the sky. "Oi, keep moving. If you hunch over than your blood won't move to your upper body" He called out to them, the last part mainly meant for Blue who was still bent over.
Blue looked up with a teasing smile "You checking out my upper body?" she said between breaths. Ruby just snorted before pulling Green off the wall and sending him on his way to the barracks. He nudged Blue form her position and sent her after him. "Keep you hands resting on your head, it'll help you breath easier" he called out at their retreating forms. "Hey Ash, bet I can beat you to the barracks" Riley said while bolting past Blue and Green. Ash just sighed and began to slowly walk after him.
And all that was left were the two ex-whatevers and a noticeably uncomfortable silence. Ruby sighed and muttered "I can't stand awkward silences" before walking over and offering his hand to Sapphire. She looked at the hand for a moment, contemplating whether it was a peace offering or just a hand up. Probably juts a hand up, Ruby doesn't forget easily. She took it regardless and he pulled her up. She brushed off her uniform from the dirt it hand accumulated from laying on the ground and from training.
She looked up to see him eyeing her curiously "What?" she asked. He just looked at her for a minute before grunting and turning to go to the mess hall with his hands in his pockets, leaving a confused Sapphire to catch up. "What the hell was that about?" she asked him when she, rather painfully, caught up to him. He just kept looking at her from the corner of his eyes before ignoring the question and returning his gaze froward. "Why are ya ignorin' me?" she yelled at him.
He just brought a hand up and rubbed the ear she shouted in before returning it to his pocket "You don't need to yell" was all he said. "Seriously what the hell is wrong with you?" she yelled. Ruby just sighed again before moving towards one of the barrack's entrances. Sapphire stormed right after him and was about to enter before he trend around right before the door. "Are you really about to follow me into the men's part of the barracks?" he stated with a raised eyebrow. She looked up and saw the sign that had the sign with the word 'male' on it. She took a step back from the door and he smirked "That's what I thought" before turning and going through the door to change and get some food afterwards.
She hmphed before turning and heading towards the female part of the barracks, still confused as to his behavior towards her. She got changed and ant to the mess hall to see the Magma Core all eating at a table along with mixed members from all the platoons, Ruby at the head, telling some joke that made them all laugh. She went to the table that was meant for the military leaders, and where Ruby was supposed to eat. But he always chose to eat with his squad rather than the other military leaders. She took her usual place next to Green and some guy from the police force that oversaw everything in the city that laid facing the front lines who was currently talking with Archie about something.
Even after years of sitting next to him she never bothered to learn his name. "You saw it too right?" Green said while reading some book he brought with him and eating. "What do ya mean?" she said. "All the platoons, they followed his commands with little question. Be it from fear or respect, or maybe he just had a natural talent for leading people, but he's good. Our problem is that when we see that men are tired we give them a break. Ruby only increases the workload he puts on them" He said analytically. Sapphire nodded, she noticed too, but didn't want to assume.
"They also followed Sir Riley with few questions, the only person they struggled with was the mercenary. He was more ruthless than Ruby when it came to punishment and how hard he made them work. It was impressive, his training techniques. I'll have to ask him about them later. I've never seen someone do something as simple move a thick rope as a workout, but, when I tried it I struggled" Green finished
"Hey speaking of him, where is he?" Blue said, adding her two cents to the conversation. They looked around but didn't see the black clad mercenary. Only Riley who was now in some sort of argument with the scrawny guy in Ruby's squad, Thomas. "I don't see him anywhere"
-Ash's POV-
I thought I'd skip dinner tonight, it wouldn't be the first time. All I really want right now is to hang out on the roof. I had a storm raging in my head that I wanted to end. Do I like May? The question of the night. Yes she was pretty, yes she was nice, and yes (Although I'd never admit it) he enjoyed her company. But was that all there was to it? Was it just an infatuation or something more?
Only time will tell I suppose. I guess I'll just see how this goes and whatever happens, happens. On a side note, it's kind of fun to watch Ruby and Sapphire. I wonder what she was yelling at him in the courtyard? Eh whatever, none of my business so I ain't getting involved. Maybe I could get Pikachu to eavesdrop for some blackmail though. Wait where the hell is Pikachu? I haven't seen him since the forest. I hope he's still not staring off into space there.
I never who've guessed that these tiles would be so comfortable. Well, time to relax. Ash laid down on the stone roof of the mess hall, hat over his eyes. It was pretty peaceful here, minus the occasional Kanto scout we see here and there. Slowly but surely I was enveloped into a hellish sleep. Fire burned everywhere in my nightmare, I knew it was a nightmare though. But it was never any less terrifying. Charred bodies lay on the ground and buildings burned everywhere. People called my name but they were no where to be seen. I ran everywhere to find someone to help, anyone that was still alive. but the nearest voice seemed to die off the closer I got to it. I heard a massive roar and turned around to see a massive Pokemon land right behind me. It's powerful wings blowing me to the ground. A figure dressed in black stood atop the monstrosity and the Pokemon roared once more.
Ash bolted up, he was breathing hard and caked in a cold sweat, still recovering from the nightmare. He's had it for years now and never knew what it meant. He sighed and turned to get off the roof and go to a, most likely, unpleasant sleep once again. Just as he was about to jump down, he heard it. He looked in the distance towards the noise and heard it once more.
It was the exact same roar from his dream.
Some of you thought it was Drew who I was bringing back didn't you? Well no, it's Hunter J. And Ash is finally going to be able to try and take another step towards avenging his mother. Also, I hope your happy with the outcome Advanceforever, it's up for you to judge. But thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Suggestions, requests, hate, and anything else is always welcome. Till next time
