Chapter 17 Lies and Thoughts and Blood, Oh My!
Hunter's Point of View
I liked my Mommy when I looked at her. She was pretty but had on funny looking clothes. Her head was nice too. Daddy's head is most of the time but not all the time. Sometimes he wishes he gave me away. I don't know why. I try really hard not to be bad but it is hard to know when to answer questions. Daddy gets so mad when I answer head questions. I try not to say too much Daddy likes me better when I am quiet. I hope Mommy stays. I only seen a picture of her Daddy has in his room. He hides it in a box under his bed with other stuff. Everyone at daycare has a mommy but I didn't. It was not fare I never got to see her it made me sad. Daddy doesn't like it when I am sad 'cause stuff moves. I don't know how to make it stop.
Now that I know I have one I want her to stay forever. Daddy and Mommy are yelling in the other room. I could not tell what they were saying with their mouth voices. Daddy is really mad. His head voice is saying "Why the hell is she here now? She has had three years to get her life together and now she wants to come in and disrupt our lives. I don't need this shit. It is bad enough I have to deal with Hunter's oddness but now I have to babysit a recovering addict."
Mommy's head voice was sad and scared. "Please Remy just let me stay, even just for tonight. I can't be found. I don't want to go back there. This is my only chance. I will do anything I can not to go back there. I hope Hunter is doing ok. What dose Remy mean by odd? Oh My God. No he can't be like Sookie. I was normal why is he like Sookie?"
There is someone like me? I didn't know that. I walk into the room Mommy and Daddy are yelling in and ask, "Mommy who is Sookie? Can I meet her? Is she really like me?" Both of them look at me like they are scared.
"She is Mommy's cousin. I don't know if your Daddy wants you to meet her." Mommy answered. "I should not have thought about her." I can see a pretty girl with yellow hair like me in Mommy's head.
"You have a cousin that can do that? Why did you never tell me? I have spent a year and a half trying to figure out what to do with him and you could have helped. We are going to meet her and you are going to have her fix him." Daddy screamed at Mommy waving his hands "or he is her problem. I will not have a freak for a son."
"I have not seen her in a long time I don't know if she will want to see me. There is nothing that can fix him. He just has to learn how to control it." Mommy yelled again crying. Why is Mommy so sad? I can be a good boy. Why do I need to be fixed? I start to cry and run to my room. I hide in the closet. Everything is flying in the air but I just want it to stop.
Pam's Point of View
Cho and I had just finished with the dickless wonder and his cunt of a maker for the night when the Queen's number one bitch boy walked through what was left of the front entrance. "This is a bit extreme just to redecorate. I just love this gaping hole, it really brings the outdoors in." Andre snarks appraising the damage.
"I thought it would be fun to show those on the outside just what they were missing but Cho here thinks it's a bit much." I sass back.
"If anything the blood you are both covered with is more over stated." He gestures to the two of us.
"Just dealing with some area business you know how it is those young ones won't learn any other way." I did not want to give away who it was that we had in the basement but I have a feeling that I might not be able to keep that to myself.
"As much fun as it is to trade quips with you Pamela dear. I need to speak with your maker." He sits himself down on Eric's thrown.
"Eric is away right now but should be home in a day or two. Is there anything I can do for you in his stead?"
"Unfortunately not with that, however in the mean time I am looking for the Queen's runaway pet. Sophie is obviously distraught over the loss of her darling Hadley. Now as far as I am concerned Hadley left of her own free will and has renounced the claim the Queen has. Nevertheless, Sophie has commanded me to bring her back no matter what. If you happen to come across her and she just happens to have been claimed by another then there is nothing that I can do. The same goes for her cousin Sookie. I know that you are aware of Sophie's desire to obtain the telepath." Well that is interesting I knew the Queen liked to keep pets but I was not aware that she still had those that were unwilling. Eric could use this information; we could call in a favor with the Magistrate. Not to mention his warning for Sookie. My favorite breath just got a reprise.
"I understand. Well as the sun will be up soon and we are going home. Do you have somewhere to stay for the day?" I ask.
"I was ordered to find the girl immediately and did not have time to arrange a safe resting place after her trail went cold. I would be grateful to you if you could provide it." He said in a way that was hard to argue with.
"Of course I would be thrilled to host you. I assume you can keep up with your bike. I am in the pink Cadillac." I point to my baby. It's just a shame I am going to have to have the seats redone. Blood just never comes out of upholstery.
Niall's Point of View
The contract is finalized now I need to meet her and introduce her to her betrothed. Sookie is coming out with more from the negotiations that I had originally hoped. The Pardloes are paying a hefty dower for her. While it does not match the dowry I am bestowing upon her at their union it is still nice to see that they are willing to provide for her.
This will bring in the final family I need to push Breadan out. Sookie will be a lucky girl to be betrothed to such a handsome and strong fae. They will make a proper match. I am glad his father is not too put out that she is not a full fae. Still any child of theirs would be strong and powerful. I still can't believe that my son kept the girl and her family a secret. I suppose that he was embarrassed that his children did not have the spark. Then again that sometimes happens with cross breeding.
A knock on my office door rouses me from my thoughts. My son Dillon and granddaughter Claudette enter. "Father there has been a sighting of Dermot. He was near a portal that leads to France. I request men to go after him." My one faithful son how I wish his brothers were like him.
"What was he doing?"
"We do not know you highness. He was there but a moment. We think he may have used the gazing pools. His sent was strongest there." Dutiful Claudette answers. It saddens me that she is barren and thus useless to the cause.
"You may take ten men, however I would like you to be back by the end of the month if you lose his trail." I grant his request though I doubt he will be successful. Dermot has long been capable of hiding well in plain sight. While he is far more independent then his younger half-brother he and his twin have had more magic and natural abilities then the rest of my children combined. It is a shame to see them waist it.
Sookie's Point of View
Standing in the corner is Preston. He has huge smile on his face until he spies who is sleeping in the bed. "Littl' Dove what are you doing in a room with vampires? They could drain you with littl' thought." He rushes forward to my side.
"They wouldn't do that they are my friends. I should be the one asking you why you are here." I snap at him.
"I only wanted to see you Littl' Dove, you have not called for me I was starting to worry." He tried to reassure me.
"I find it strange that you would have anything to do with my cousin Pardloe before you have been formally introduced." Claude stands and moves to my side in a defensive position.
"I meant no offence Crane." Preston steps back.
"I am sure. Now I think it would be good of you to leave. My cousin is not dressed for visitors." Claude gives him a stern look.
"That didn't stop you from coming in." I mumbled under my breath. They both turned to look at me.
"I am profoundly sorry Littl' Dove. I will come to you again at another time. Until then Littl' Dove." He bows and pops away.
"Darling cousin I think it is time for you and I to have a talk about fairy etiquette. Your suitor should not have introduced himself so that is not your fault. However the two of you should have been formally introduced to one another at court. While I don't blame you for wanting to see such a gorgeous man you need to get to know him the right way which does not involve him coming into your room when you are under dressed. It is alright for family to be around you but others should not."
"I did not invite him over for a chat he showed up all on his own. Also why do you have a problem with him if not those two?" I ask.
"No need to get defensive darling. While I don't like you being around those two, I know that they will not take advantage of you when you are alone with them. I cannot say the same for Pardloe." He answers taking a roll from the mound of food.
"Why do you say that?" I find some bacon and start munching.
"I know both Northman and his maker to be honorable. I have had very little interaction with Pardloe. I would not want your reputation to be ruined." That makes me pause to think why would that matter I have never had a good one. "Don't look at me like that Sookie. In the fae realm you are a princess wither you like it or not that means there are different standards for how you should behave." He sighs.
"I never asked to be a princess. Can we go back to talking about what you can do? I know fairies can teleport what else can you do? Do you have special gifts like vampires? How old are you?" I ask pausing at the amused look on his face.
"Slow down cousin we have hours to answer your questions." If only that were true, there is movement on the bed and I fear I may lose my chance at answers.
