AN: I think I am doing pretty well with the resolution thing because here is an update in a week. Hopefully I will continue this trend. Anyway I am glad everyone liked the last chapter. If you live in United States then you know just how freaking cold it has been in much of the country. This has been the main reason as to why I have had time to write. When going outside means braving subzero temps you will do whatever you can to stay inside. It was almost like a heat wave when it hit 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius) today. Now I'm an Iowa girl so I am use to cold winters but it still sucks. Anyway I hope this chapter is up to snuff. Read, Enjoy, and Review.
Update: There was a mistake in the first post of this chapter. I meant to write that it was Sookie's second vial of the faery light water. Thank you to racecz5 for letting me know I missed that. Sorry this is the same chapter I will try to get another up soon to make up for my oops.
Chapter 18 Illuminating Answers
Godric's Point of View
I stop myself from breathing when I come to and am over whelmed by the smell of fairy. I find a possible reason for the source sitting on the other side of the room with Sookie. My darling little one has a myriad of emotions flowing through her. I vamp to her side when her fear spikes.
"I mean no harm so please refrain from biting me." One of the Crane triplets said.
"I will not bite you unless you give me reason to." I comment and notice Sookie's fear has lessened.
"Little one can you tell me why I smell fairy other than this one?" I turn my attention to her fully.
"Um… well… you see that guy from my dream was here, but don't worry Claude made him leave." She explains nervously.
"Cousin how many times has he been in your dreams?" Crane questions in a firm voice.
"Just twice but I think he may try to come in again. Is there a way I can make it so he can't?" She responds in earnest.
"Yes I can get you a dream amulet. It will prevent anyone that is unwanted from entering your dreams. I will also find you a teacher that can help you with your telepathy." He smiles at her.
"Ok."
"Little one I have some business to attend to before we depart this evening. I would warn your cousin to leave the room prior to four. While I know Eric can control himself he may attack first and ask questions later." I locate my phone and retreat to the bed. I see that I have several messages waiting for me. It appears that Bobby has gotten my remaining belongings from the nest and has had them delivered to Eric's main residence in Louisiana. King Davis has requested a meeting before we leave. I find that I have both joy and melancholy at the thought of leaving my post here in Dallas. I know that my place is no longer here but I think that I will need to keep a positive relationship with King Davis. I know that he would not object to Eric and I returning if need be. It is something to think about. Many of the messages are from the surviving vampires from the area. I am glad to see more survivors then I had originally estimated in the rubble.
Hadley's Point of View
OH MY GOD! I can't believe that he is like Sookie, but then again I never saw her have a tantrum like this. I don't understand how this is possible. Why does Remy want me to take them to Sookie? I can't go there they would find me there. Maybe I should just leave and make a run for it. I could get to Florida before midnight. "What is he doing? Why is everything floating?" I notice that many of the objects in the house are hovering in the air.
"This is what I was talking about he needs help. Do you know how hard it is to keep him happy all the time so this won't happen? I have had to give him sedatives when he goes to daycare because if he gets upset this happens. He has gotten kicked out of three daycares already. There are only two left in town. I have had to pay off the caregivers not to talk. I am at my fucking wits end that is why you are going to take us to your cousin and she is going to help him if not then he is your problem." Remy yells.
"How do we stop it?" I ask.
"You don't you have to wait for him to pass out. Hopefully it will happen before he breaks everything in my fucking house." He rubs his face in frustration.
"Fine but don't blame me if she won't help. I was not the best cousin to her so I have no idea if she will want to." I huff noticing that the furniture is starting to shake. I can only hope she can help.
I can hear Hunter from his room, "I'm a good boy. I'm a good boy. I'm a good boy. I'm a good boy." Saying it over and over. What has Remy done to him? A tear falls down my cheek.
I doge the floating objects and make my way down the hall. I cautiously open his door. He is sitting in his closet rocking back and forth. "Hunter baby, you are a good boy. Mommy needs you to calm down ok?" I crouch down to his level. He filings himself into my arms. I rock and shush him. Slowly as he settles down everything floats back down. Sookie please help.
"I am going to pack some clothes for myself. We are going to drive to your cousin's house tonight. Help him pack his clothes and I mean all of it." Remy says from the doorway before leaving.
Dermot's Point of View
Seriously he sends my baby brother to find me. He could not find me if I was hogtied and plopped on his doorstep. While it is nice to see some family he is not the one I want to see. My great grand nice on the other hand is far more interesting. Also I need to check on the boy. I fear leaving him with his father has been a mistake. That human knows nothing about fae children. That boy is far more powerful than he should be. Granted that may have to do with the amount of vampire blood his mother was forced to consume during pregnancy. I hope he has not done any irreparable damage. My twin was a fool to take the "gift" from his demon friend. These children have suffered for no reason, if they would have been taught from birth how to control it they would not have been out casts. While I may not be able to help Sookie much I will do all I can for Hunter. Now to lose my idiot brother and his band of merry men, you would think that continental popping was hard with the way them labor. I have not been to Rio in a while I am sure the weather is nice there.
Bill's Point of View
Just end me. Regrowing limbs is painful enough with an adequate supply of donor blood but this is torcher. When my maker and I get out of here there will be hell to pay. The Queen will not stand for this. The hell fire will rain down when she finds out what her underlings are doing. My poor beloved maker is in even worse shape than I. She has felt all of our pain while shielding me from hers. I cannot wait for my revenge on darling Pamela. She took way to much joy in our pain I will revel in retribution. Now to bid our time eventually they will have to let us go.
Claude's Point of View
My cousin will have her hands full with all of these delicious men. Too bad I can't take one or two off her hands. Sweet Sookie has been so eager to learn everything she can. I am glad, it will make her transition into our world easier. Pardloe will have to pay for his miss step. Grandfather may just call off their betrothal when he learns of this. "Shall we get back to our discussion before you second vampire wakes? I would so much like to be alive a while longer."
"Of course. I guess my main question is what is our family like, what can we do?" She agrees quickly.
"That dear cousin is two questions but still. Well I guess I should tell you some about what makes our family special. You know our family is part of the sky tribe. That means we have an affinity for the sun. Most but not all of us can harness the power or light from the sun into energy that we can make do our bidding, like this." I explain creating a small ball of light in my hand.
"That is so cool. Will I be able to do that?" She looks at it in awe.
"I do not know but I hope so." I douse the light.
"Fairy make sure that you keep that light to yourself." The Gaul says from the bed.
"Same goes for your fangs." I sass back earing a chuckle.
"What else?" Sookie interrupts our banter.
"We can use this light to protect ourselves and those around us. I am sure that if you do possess the light then you will be able to fend of vampire attackers as well as protect the ones you care about." I continue. "Another gift that some of our family possess is the gift of flight. I myself can fly as well as your boy toys over there."
"Ok so we have sparkly fingers and can fly. Is there more?" She probes.
"Niall and your grandfather can both suppress their scents. I can but it has taken me many years to learn how. Your great uncle can cloak himself to the point that he is not visible. He was always fun to play hide and seek with." I get myself off track.
"It sounds like we have a big family how many cousins do we have?"
"Far too many to count I am afraid. With all of the marriages and multiple births that run in the fae we have well over 200. It also helps that faeries have extremely long life spans. We are similar to vampires in that we are essentially immortal. Well I take that back we can live as longs as some of these immortals but we age. Niall is over 2000 years old but looks like he is in his 70's. I am 718 years old but don't look a day over 30." I smile at this.
"Wow… ok that is a lot to take in." She becomes pensive and starts to pick at the food in front of her.
"I am not sure how long your life span will be because you are only a quarter fae. It will all depend on your spark."
"Not to intrude your learning little one but you should really take a bath before Eric wakes. Also you need to take this when you are done eating." The Gaul hands her a vial of faery light water. Now this makes sense.
"How much of that has she been given?" I question.
"This will be her second. Dr. Ludwig has prescribed for her to take one with every meal until the vials run out." He explains.
"I hope you are ready for some fun then she is going to be maturing rapidly. I would tell you to hold off on that until you are back home. She will not be able to control herself when her gifts come in. Since we don't know what all will happen I don't think you should risk it with other vampires about." I warn them.
"How do you know that?" He questions.
"You are holding faery light water. It is like faery magic in a bottle." He looks at it pensively.
"If you are sure then I do not want to put her in anymore danger." He takes it back to where he has a large collection of the vials.
"On that note I will take my leave and contact you tomorrow cousin." I stand from my place on the coach.
"I will warn you as you have me fairy. You will not be able to access the house in Shreveport. There are magics in place to keep your folk out. However it is possible for you to pop into to the garden in the back. There is much I would like to discuss with you regarding Sookie."
"Thank you for that. Cousin I will see you in the garden tomorrow." I kiss her on the check before popping out.
