Bonnie's heartbeat quickened when Damon said, "Let's talk somewhere else. That's private and away from prying eyes."

She gave him a nervous smile and bit her bottom lip. "I, uh…ok, but where?"

He gave her a charming smile. "My place?"

She gave him a look. "Really?"

"Yes, Miss Bennet. Really. I want us to talk and in private." He said simply then took a gulp of his Bourbon.

Bonnie shifted in her seat as she set her glass on the desk. "I know you want us to talk, but I would just feel more comfortable if we weren't alone, but yet we are."

"Go to dinner with me. Tonight at seven." He told her.

Bonnie knew that it wasn't a question, but a statement. She shook her head disapprovingly. "So many people could see us."

"I've noticed something about you, Bonnie." She knitted her eyebrows in confusion as he continued, coming in front of her. "You're always saying no and your excuse always has to do with what others think of you."

She scoffed and stood up. "I do not."

"Yes, you do. Just don't think about it. Stop thinking and have a little fun. You're young and beautiful. Live a little and be spontaneous and reckless."

She couldn't help, but laugh at little. Damon suddenly grabbed her hands holding them to his chest and said softly, "We can live together if you let me in."

Bonnie gazed up at him, unable to look away from his electric and intense blue eyes. It was all too much for her to keep in. She hated lying and secrets. "I liked kissing you. It was unexpected a-and…and it was nice."

Damon smiled widely at her and moved to kiss her, but she moved away. He groaned and rolled his eyes. "You're such a confusing woman. You just told me that you like kissing me, but yet here you are…refusing to feel anything for me. Am that bad that you don't want yourself to feel anything for me?!"

Bonnie nervously shook her head. "No, of course not. Dinner at seven. We can talk then,"

Damon gave a throaty sigh and pursed his lips. "Fine. I'll pick you up."

Bonnie nodded and gave him a nervous smile which he returned with a flirty smirk. He watched her leave and Bonnie could feel those intense eyes of his on her back. They were intense and consuming her whole. Bonnie would be lying to say that she didn't like it or at least was starting to like it. Bonnie closed the door letting out a shaky breath. She glanced around and noticed how simple everything looked. Everyone seemed to have not suspected anything. They looked careless and almost robotic like as they typed away on their typewriters.

When it was her lunch break, she walked over to Caroline's private spot in the corner of the lounge where no one could hear them. Bonnie crossed her arms over her chest and sat down in the chair next to her. "So tell me about you and Klaus," Bonnie asked causally.

Caroline coughed while drinking her water. Bonnie patted her back and Caroline's face reddened. Bonnie could never tell if Caroline was blushing or not. Bonnie noticed that Caroline Forbes was a very private person, but that didn't stop her from meddling in other people's lives. Caroline's expression turned flustered in a moment.

"What? What are you talking about…there's n-nothing going on with Mr. Mikaelson and I." Caroline told her, trying to give a nonchalant smile.

Caroline took a large gulp of her water while Bonnie eyed her suspiciously. Klaus had done the same thing… Once confident now very nervous and uncomfortable was Caroline Forbes right now.

"You know he said the same thing," Bonnie told her, smiling widely. "He even hesitated just like you."

Caroline's eyes widened a fraction and then she looked around like she was expecting something to pop out and scare her to death. "Ok, there is." She said her voice dropping low enough for only Bonnie to hear. "We met when it was my second month of working for the Salvatore's company…well, not really if you think about it."

"What do you mean?"

"Well…um we knew each other when we were in high school. We practically had every class together, but didn't notice each other because I sat in front of him."

Bonnie smiled genuinely. "So one time you turned around and then he saw you thus an attraction to each other became real and your romance bloomed. How romantic."

"No, that's not what happened," Caroline said, clearly frustrated. "I-we never talked, I never even knew he was behind me. We took the same walk to work, to class, even to the same bakery for lunch, but I never notice him. I never noticed, Bonnie!"

"Wait, he noticed you?" Bonnie asked innocently.

Caroline nodded frantically. "Yes. That's what he told me at least. I noticed him when it was the second month and Mikael- Mr. Mikaelson had just yelled at me for being an ignorant and incompetent pretty blonde fool. He said how useless and stupid I was because I had accidentally screwed up a file line for one of their new and upcoming projects. I was very nervous and practically a dreadful wreck." A soft smile graced Caroline's lips. "He was nice to me. I managed though to able to hide my embarrassing emotions all under the mask I had on. He…he is the only person I know that able to see right through my façade. He squeezed my hand and said to just breathe. He helped me breathe."

"How long?" Bonnie dazed.

"Five years. Frozen. Nothing. Ugh!"

Bonnie held back the laughter rumbling inside of her. Caroline's face twisted in irritation as she groaned and put her face in her hands. Bonnie was dumbfounded because she had never seen her like this before. Even when Bonnie had first met her, she was so well confident and strong that it made Bonnie envious of that. Bonnie patted Caroline's shoulder and said softly, "It's ok. You like him so what? Who cares…he likes you back."

"Really," Caroline mumbled.

Bonnie gave a soft chuckled and smiled at her. "Yeah. He really, really does."

Caroline's head came up and she sighed. "Well, we couldn't even if we wanted to. Our families more than just hate each other. Bad blood."

Bonnie's face fell into one of disappointment. "I don't know what to say to make it better."

Caroline gave a reassuring smile. "There's nothing you can say, Bon. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. Oh, well, I'm sure it'll go away."

"Caroline-"

"I have to go back to my desk," Caroline dismissed quickly, abruptly standing up. "Bye, Bonnie. I'll catch up with you later."

Bonnie replied softly, "Bye."

Bonnie felt an amount of guilt wash over her and she remembered Klaus telling her about a beautiful girl he saw everyday. She had asked him why he never talked to her. He never got to answer her because Kol had dragged her away and made out with her. She had long forgotten that the Forbes and Mikaelson despised on another. Although her family her family had been friends with both of the families they still had to watch what they said to each of the families. Bonnie had never met most of the Mikaelson, only Rebekah and Klaus because they made it there business to bud into her and Kol's relationship. They did though on good terms and had the right intentions. Bonnie was good friends with them until she had changed her name and ran away. They had offered their help, but Bonnie couldn't face him.

Bonnie silently finished her lunch and then went back to her desk. Bonnie sat back in her chair and sighed. She turned to her typewriter and started to let her fingers type out the case file.

. . .

Bonnie tied her hair up in an elegant bun. She borrowed some pearl earrings from Caroline and a tight black dress, the neckline just above her breasts, and it had fat straps on it leaving her arms bare and half of her back. It was elegant and kind of expensive for Bonnie's tastes. Her cupid's bow lips were crimson red and her eyelids darkened with eyeliner making her have cat eyes. She slipped on black heels and almost stumbled as she stood up. Bonnie looked at her reflection in the mirror and was astonished at how well she cleaned up. She would have to tell Caroline that she was right about the earrings; the hairstyle, the dress, and well…pretty much everything.

Bonnie heard a knock at her door and her heart immediately started to beat faster and faster. Her palms began to sweat and her whole entire body started to heat up. She breathed in and out as she went to the door. She hesitated as she opened it. She did a double take of Damon. He looked gorgeous in all black from head to toe in a suit. Even his shirt was black along with the tie. He raised an amused eyebrow at her outfit and she couldn't help but blush a little at his lustful gaze. Damn it, why now? Especially in front of him.

"It seems great minds think a like." He mused as he stepped inside.

"Oh, really? I happen to think that it was just a coincidence." She replied with a smirk.

"A coincidence? I would like to think of it as the universe trying to tell us something," he suggested. "Don't you believe in fate or destiny?"

She gave a mirthless chuckle. "No, I don't, Damon."

He came closer. "No 'things happen for a reason'?"

She shook her head. "Nope."

There a longing silence between them as they gazed at each other. Damon suddenly grabbed her hand and led them outside of the door, and said, "Come."

She didn't bother to remove her hand knowing that it was useless. She actually let them hold hands…it felt nice. She forgot to look frantically around just in case anyone was watching them or could be watching them. Even her mind didn't let me think that this was wrong on so many levels because he was her boss and she was just the assistant that cleaned up his messes. No, it feels right…being with him…if it feels so right then why can't I let him in and take a chance. Is it because of Kol? Or is it because of Stefan. Both have cheated on me, but with Kol, I forgave him and then we had sex that night.

Bonnie shook her head a little as she realized that she was already in his black sleek car. It wasn't that look of a drive to the restaurant. Bonnie read the red and white sign, Bar Boulud. She gave him a mixed look of shock and question as she said, "A French restaurant?"

"Yes, why?" he asked curiously.

"I-I just thought that you know t-that since your last name is Salvatore, I thought that we'd be going to some fancy Italian restaurant." She stuttered embarrassed.

He laughed. "Well, that's what I would've done in the past, but you're special, Miss Bennet."

He led her inside of the restaurant and Bonnie could tell that it was for the elite and upperclassmen. He didn't need a reservation apparently as they walked to the back. She was dazed by how beautiful the private room had been set up for them. Water was glazed as it went down one half of each of the walls. The ceiling was up and oval shaped. The table was round and the ivory table cloth was soft under Bonnie's fingers, silk-like. A chandelier with diamonds hanging around in a circle made the room slightly dim. There were some candles lit around the room, The sliver napkins shaped into a swan shape though it didn't look like it. There were white beautiful white mixed flowers; orchids, roses, carnations, tulips, lilies, lilac, calla, there were just so many flowers. Being stood frozen to her spot and looked at Damon, her expression must've looked clearly astonished.

"Is this..."

"All for you? Yes, it is." He said and then took her hand.

He pulled out her chair for her and she commented, "How gentlemany of you."

"Gentlemany? I don't think that's even a word." He said as she sat down and then he sat in his chair.

"Well, I'm declaring it a word. So deal with it." Bonnie said.

He laughed and said, "Well, I really hope you like red wine because that it the only type of alcohol that they serve here."

"I already know that you're going to be cranky if you don't get some Bourbon in your veins by the end of the night." She joked.

"And I know that if a drop of alcohol comes near you maybe you'll be like the Wicked Witch of the West. You'll melt." He threw back playfully.

She laughed shaking her head. "I think that I can spare you a drink."

"Good."

"I mean, Bourbon is like blood to you."

"Oh, no, you've guessed my secret." He commented. He leaned closer whispering, "I'm a vampire, Bonnie. Run."

She smirked and knew how to play this game. "Well, it's ok." She leaned across the table and looked around, then whispered sweetly, "Because I'm a witch."

They laughed and Damon lightly pecked her lips. "We'd make a perfect match you and I. Powerful and sexy."

"Oh really," Bonnie question, still leaning across the table.

He nodded, his lips twitched into a smile. "Yes, very really."

. . .

The food was fantastic. Mouth watering to Bonnie and she wondered if she would ever get to taste food like this since she was disowned by her parents. She would be lying to say that she hadn't missed the food or even this life. But she preferred her Bennet life with her Aunt and Uncle. Damon gazed at her as the waiters cleared their plates.

"Desert?" Damon asked, raising an eyebrow.

She shook her head. "No, I'm afraid I'm very full."

After the waiters left, Damon's expression turned serious. "Tell me about Stefan."

"We're not together," she said immediately.

"He doesn't seem to think so," Damon said, irritated.

Bonnie tensed and shifted in her seat. "What happened?"

"He's been trying to call you. He's frustrated, angry…he's in love with you, Bonnie."

Bonnie scoffed. "Did he tell that before or after he stuck his tongue down another girl's throat?"

"What?!"

Bonnie shook her head and looked down at her fingers, clearly uncomfortable. "I'm sorry. I-I don't want to talk about it."

"Then why did you tell me about it if you don't want to talk about it?!" he said angrily.

Bonnie whipped her head up to him in anger. "It just came out. Don't raise your voice with me."

He pursed his lips at her and clenched his fists as she continued, "Surely, you know the feeling when someone you love is cheating on you with another. He has been cheating on me for God knows how long and the worst part about all of this is that I had to see it with my own eyes and he didn't even notice nor had the courtesy to tell me!"

She stood up and started to storm out of the restaurant, not being able to sit down any longer. She pushed open the front glass door and walked down the side walk. She heard Damon calling her name, but she ignored him. He grabbed her arm and pulled her into the empty alley way.

"You don't think that I don't know that feeling, believe me I very much do! It kills me every day to see my own brother!" he shouted.

She knitted her eyebrows in confusion. "What the hell are you saying, Damon?!"

He let out an exasperated sigh and ran a hand through his hair. He closed his eyes as if pained, but reluctantly opened them Bonnie was a taken back when she saw pain and hurt in his eyes. "There is something I need to tell you…I lied to you about Elena."

"Lied to me? Lied to me about what?"

"She was having an affair, but it was with Stefan not some random guy. They were in love and she was going to tell you, but Stefan and I thought that-"

"Why didn't you tell me?" she said softly.

"Bonnie, I-"

"Why didn't you tell me, Damon!" she shouted. "I had a right to know! Oh, God, I-I," she turned away from him. "I can't even look at you right now…"

She was breathing frantically and her chest heaving up and down uncontrollably. She felt like she was going to explode right now. Damon suddenly put his arms around her from behind and she shouted, "No! Get off me! No!"

He just held her in his arms as she battled him. She shook her head as the tears came down her face. "No! Please stop it…"

He turned her around in his arms and held her head to his chest. She cried softly, "No, no, no, please let me go."

"I can't," he said softly. "And I won't."

"I want you, Damon. I…I think that I may be falling for you and-and I don't want to get my heart broken. I don't want you to break my heart like Stefan or Kol did." Bonnie said frantically.

Damon froze. "Kol? Kol Mikaelson?"

Bonnie stopped crying and pulled back, but Damon wouldn't let her as he asked, "Kol? He was the one that got you pregnant?" Realization hit Damon like a slap in the face. "That's how you know Klaus, isn't it?"

She nodded. "Yes." She gulped. "Yes, that's how we know each other. I only know Rebekah and Klaus though. I didn't meet the rest…we kept it a secret."

Damon embraced her and nuzzled his nose into her hair. "I'm sorry, I didn't tell you. I couldn't tell you when you looked so happy."

She was silent and closed her tear stained eyes. She let Damon lead her to the car and then walk her back to her apartment. Her hands shook as she tried to put the key in the lock. They dropped and Damon bent down and got them. He opened the door and made no move to follow her inside. She turned to him as she stepped inside. "Can you stay…can you please stay the night?"

He nodded and came inside, closing and locking the door. Bonnie stumbled into her bedroom and out of her heels, the alcohol going to head. I really shouldn't have had four glasses of wine…that was some strong stuff. Bonnie felt Damon's hands on her back and she said, "Unzip, please."

His hands were cool like silk and like his lips. He slowly zipped down her dress. Damon took down her hair and moved it to one side as he kissed in the middle her shoulder blades. Suddenly the dizziness disappeared and Bonnie was on full alert. She shivered, but in a good way. She looked over her shoulder and slowly turned around to face, not taking her eyes off his. She let the material go and it pooled around her feet. She wore only her blood colored laced bra and panties. He took off his jacket and it fell to the floor along with her dress. Her hands went to his tie and untied it. She let it fall to the floor along with his jacket and her dress as she started to unbutton his shirt.

Damon's hands halting her from continuing. His jaw hardened. "You're not yourself. Let me put you to bed."

She nodded as he walked her over to her bed. He pulled the neatly lined up pillows and put them on the floor. He pulled the covers down and she crawled inside of them. He moved to pull them over and she grabbed his wrist saying softly, "Stay…with me."

He was about to protest, but she insisted, "Please, Damon…I-I don't want to be alone tonight."

He nodded and removed his shirt and shoes. "There are some pajama pants that I like to wear because…they're baggy. They're…made for men." She said sleepily.

Damon went to her dresser and fished them out. He put them on and Bonnie moved aside to make room for him behind. Damon hesitantly slipped inside behind, spooning her. He pulled the covers over them and Bonnie nuzzled into him. He wrapped his arms around her and Bonnie whispered, "Thank you…f-for telling me the truth."

He gave a hollow chuckle and whispered, "Don't thank me yet..."

Bonnie didn't hear him as she was already sound asleep…

TBC…

I really hoped you guys liked this chapter. The whole scene after they ate and then sleeping together was never supposed to happen because I intended for Bonnie to say how she really feels for him…yeah it was really supposed to be a happy moment, but then this came along and it flooded out. Anyways I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hoped you guys liked this one instead.

Next chapter won't be filled with fluff and unicorns…yeah that won't happen for at least a few more chapters…I still haven't decided yet.
