Double Act

Chapter 7: Ranger Thunder

A/N: Okay, just so you know, this was not the original chapter written, but I did skip over 4 episodes before and made up for them with a few fillers down the road in this story. Since I have to rewrite a good chunk of it, well, things will definitely change. Out of what I had to write, I have to rewrite:

White Thunder Part 1, 2, 3

Truth and Consequences

Leader of the Whack

Burning at Both Ends

The Missing Bone

Bully for Ethan

Lost and Found in Translation

Copy That

4 fillers

Triassic Triumph

A Star is Torn

And the beginning of A Ranger Exclusive. Now, I've had an idea for the episode It's a Mad Mad Mackerel, but I don't know if I'll skip it as planned or add it in somehow. Anyway, those episodes above are just the ones I've had to rewrite. Anything after the first couple scenes in A Ranger Exclusive had not been written yet.

Let's get on with this, shall we?

Disclaimer: I only own things not originally in the show.

Kira found herself in completely white room. A light fog covered the ground. From what she could see, there was nothing around her at all. It was just her in an empty space. This greatly confused the yellow ranger as she had no idea how she ended up here. Something about it scared her and she wanted to find a way out. Just as she was about to begin looking for one, she found a mirror.

Cautiously, she walked toward it. As she got closer, a figure became visible. She recognized the figure as herself. Kira frowned, confused. Then, without realizing it, she looked down and saw she had morphed. Now she stood as the yellow ranger. When she looked back up, she noticed the reflection had one difference.

The ranger in the reflection was in an orange suit.

Kira shot up with a gasp, wondering where the hell that dream had come from. She had no idea what it meant if it meant anything at all, but she was sure it meant something. After all, she had heard Kennedi's sensei say multiple times that dreams can tell you a lot about yourself. Deciding to question it later, she let out a sigh.

"No more soda before bed," she mumbled.

Come morning, the three teens found themselves meeting up with their teacher at a hidden clearing at the top of a hill. When they arrived, Tommy was there scanning the area for something. The teens noticed he looked a little confused. Sharing a look, they finally decided to speak. Ethan took the lead. "We came as soon as we could, Dr. O. What'd you find?"

"Some sort of storage unit," Tommy shut off the tracker. "The energy readings are so intense, this meter can't register them."

"What kind of energy?" Conner asked.

"The same kind that's in your morphers," Tommy replied, turning to them.

"You're saying there's a dino gem here?" Kira raised an eyebrow, thinking about her dream.

"Not anymore, but there were two," the black ranger answered.

"I thought you had all kinds of things that would pick up if there was a couple of gems out here?" Kira frowned.

Tommy could only theorize what could've happened. "Someone must've hidden it. When the cloaking device deactivated, the readings went off the scale."

"So is this good news or bad news?" Conner wondered.

"Guess that depends on who's got the gems."

Over in Blue Bay Harbor, Kennedi was working another shift at Storm Chargers. It wasn't busy, despite it being a long weekend. The previous night, she had a strange dream that she wasn't sure how to take. She had found herself in a plain white room with a light fog covering the floor. There was a mirror she was looking into. At first, it showed her reflection perfectly. Then it changed to show her in an orange ranger suit similar to her sister's. Kennedi had no idea what it meant.

"Dude, did you finish the bike yet?" Dustin asked, entering the back of the store. Kennedi had been fixing a bike for the past hour.

"Almost done," she nodded. "Just have to put this last piece back on."

"Have you heard from Hunter lately?" Dustin wondered. "I only ask because Tori constantly hears from Blake."

Kennedi shook her head. "I hear from him as much as the rest of you. I don't know when his next visit's going to be either." She finished up the bike. "Here you go. I'm gonna take this junk out to the dumpster and toss it."

"Okay," Dustin shrugged.

Kennedi grabbed a bag and put the trash in it. After tying it closed, she headed for the back door. It didn't take her long to head to the dumpster and toss the bag of trash inside. When she stood straight again and headed for the building, she saw a strange green glow from the corner of her eye. Carefully, she turned to it.

Before she could blink, she was gone.

"Hey, this is that creepy lab," Kennedi muttered to herself when she landed in a familiar place. She figured the green light must've been an invisaportal. Not seeing an immediate way out, she began to look around. It didn't take long before she felt herself being drawn to a table where two objects lay. As she got closer and her hand involuntary reached out, she spotted two bracelets, one with a white gem and one with an orange gem.

Kennedi noticed her arm reaching for the orange one and tried to pull it away. However, her arm just snapped back to the same position it had been in. Before she could do anything else, the orange bracelet snapped to her wrist and she stumbled backward. Images of an orange dino ranger played through her mind.

Then everything went black.

As the afternoon neared, the three rangers found themselves coming to a stop in front of an ugly looking monster. It didn't seem to be causing harm yet, but they knew it to be a threat. Tommy and Hayley were back in the dino lab, monitoring things. "Hey!" Conner called out to it. "Over here! Is there something we can help you with?" the monster turned to face them and frowned.

"Red, blue, yellow, purple, orange," he counted. "No. I'm looking for something in basic white."

"Do you have any clue what he's talking about?" Kira looked to her teammates.

"None," Conner denied.

The monster fired at them, causing them to flip out of the way. Before they could attack, a white and orange blur sped by, attacking it. This left the rangers baffled as this was something they hadn't seen before. To Kira, it almost seemed as though the blurs were in some sort of ninja streak. She had seen her sister to it many times, but she thought it was a trick only ninjas could use.

"What is it?" Ethan wondered.

"I don't know," Kira replied. The blurs disappeared and the monster was destroyed, leaving the rangers confused.

"You guys saw that, right?" Conner spoke into his communicator.

"Yeah," Tommy answered, getting a bad feeling about this. "We're still trying to figure out what it was."

Conner sighed. "We'll try and follow it. Come on!"

It took a few minutes to run off to the area where the white and orange blurs took off to. The rangers finally stopped, approaching a building where they were sure the blurs were around. However, they saw nothing as they looked around. Nothing stood out or indicated to them what the blurs were. "It should be around here somewhere," Conner stated.

"I don't see anything," Kira remarked.

"Look harder," disoriented voices drew their attention. They all turned to see a guy in a white ranger suit and a girl in an orange ranger suit, similar to their own aside from the shield white had, the skirt orange wore, and the colors.

"Who are they?" Kira wondered.

"And how come he gets the phat helmet?" Ethan pouted.

"These guys friends of yours, Dr. O?" Conner checked in.

"Never saw them before,"Tommy replied, getting an idea of where this could possibly be going. Conner nodded and ran forward a bit.

"Don't come any closer," White warned. "You'll force us to do something we don't want to do."

Conner frowned. "What do you mean by that?"

"Let us show you," Orange offered. "Orange ptera daggers." She drew her weapon. Swishing it through the air a couple times, arrows appeared. "Laser arrows. Fire!" As soon as she said that, the arrows went flying toward the rangers. It hit them, and the rangers hit the ground.

"Was that really necessary?" Kira huffed, getting back to her feet.

"That was just a warning," they pointed out. The two vanished into mid air, leaving the rangers confused.

By the time the rangers made it back to the dino lab, the alarms had gone off once more. They appeared in the middle of the city where the orange and white rangers were attacking. There was still no answer for who they were or what they were doing. Kira couldn't help but feel this is what her dream was telling her, but she also thought there was something more to it than just new rangers showing up. When they arrived, the two evil rangers faced them. "Back so soon?" Conner called out. "Thought you made your point last time?"

"We've only just started," White spoke. "You want some more?" The three charged and the orange ranger stayed put. White simply drew his sword and walked through the rangers, only injuring Conner and Ethan. Kira managed to reach the orange ranger, who set off in fighting her one on one. White continued fighting off Conner and Ethan.

Orange and White tossed the rangers into each other, causing them to hit the ground. When they got up, the evil rangers sped by them, using their weapons to leave marks on the suits. They stopped and landed side by side. "That's gotta hurt," Orange smirked as the rangers fell once more in pain. "Too easy."

"All right," Conner huffed. "What's the deal? We tried to be nice, just extending a little ranger love, and this is what we get?"

"We're not here to make friends," White scoffed.

"Then what is it?" Conner continued. "What do you want?"

"That isn't something you need to know," Orange stated. "All that's important right now is that there are three rangers too many. And we're here to change that."

"Go for it," Conner challenged. Orange stayed back as her partner in crime charged the three rangers. White managed to knock them all down with a few simple hits. Kira and Ethan got back up and charged again when Conner was knocked over. One hit from the sword and the three were back out.

White smirked. "That should do it."

"Think we're just gonna walk away?" Kira wondered as she and her teammates got back on their feet. She and Ethan drew their blasters.

"Not gonna happen," the blue ranger agreed. They fired, and the Orange ranger fired back, knocking them down. Conner moved to check on them. Ethan shrugged him off and got back to his feet. "All right. Party time's over."

"No! Wait!" Tommy called as he ran in, fully morphed. "We don't know what they're capable of. They've got powers we might not be able to deal with." He faced the two. "We don't want to hurt you. Just tell us why you're here."

"Why are we here?" Orange pretended to think it over. "Let me see…to defeat you?"

"That does it!" Ethan cried. He and Kira, swords drawn, charged once more. Orange took the lead and met them with her daggers. She fought them off for a moment before knocking them off the rooftop they were on. She jumped down after them while the other three rangers remained on the roof.

Once in the parking lot below, Orange faced the two rangers. "Nice flight?"

"She's gonna pay for that," Ethan huffed. Kira charged first and he followed close behind. Orange kicked Ethan into the car nearby first. Following that, she grabbed onto Kira's wrists and their morphers began to glow.

"Huh?" Kira muttered as she felt her head flooding with random images.

Kira found herself back in Mesogog's lair, feeling drawn toward something. When she caught sight of the table with a strange glow, she found two bracelets, each with a dino gem. Kira tried to pull her arm away but found she was drawn back to it. Before she could do anything, the bracelet with the orange gem attached itself to her wrist, and her world went black.

When Kira snapped out of it, Orange flung her fast and hard toward Ethan. She crashed into the blue ranger and they both lost their morph. "Pathetic," Orange muttered. She heard a yell from behind her and turned to see Conner hit the ground, losing his morph. Tommy, from the looks of it, had already lost his and the two evil rangers stood side by side. The other four rangers managed to group together, clutching their sides in pain.

"You've been warned, power rangers," White huffed. "Stay out of our way, or be destroyed." The two vanished, leaving the other rangers alone.

Tommy sighed. "Guys, we've got big trouble."

The rangers headed back to the dino lab to rest up, feeling the need to do so. Hayley had looked them over for serious injuries and found nothing more than a few bruises. The four rangers sat on the step up by the computers, contemplating what had just happened. "It wasn't supposed to happen like this, was it?" Ethan questioned.

"Two evil rangers?" Tommy caught on. "No. Of course, it's been known to happen."

"So what do we do?" Kira wondered.

"How are we supposed to fight them if we can't get near them?" Conner wondered.

Tommy stood and began moving around. "We figure out who they are and what they want…before it's too late."

Kennedi found herself back behind Storm Chargers, wondering what had just happened. All she remembered was taking out the trash, seeing something flash before her, and then nothing. It confused her even more when she noticed it was almost night. Just as she turned to head back inside, she heard the door open. "Dude, there you are," Dustin let out a sigh of relief. "We were getting worried. Since when does it take a few hours to take out the trash?"

"I don't know," Kennedi frowned. "I…can't remember what happened."

"Well, I would come inside before Kelly calls the cops about you being missing," he advised before vanishing into the building.

Kennedi shrugged and headed for the door.

A/N: Well, sorry for this taking so long to get out. I was hoping to have it out sooner. Thank you for your patience, and I plan to have the next chapter for all my stories ready by the day after Christmas.
