Double Act
Chapter 8: Ranger Thunder
Part II
A/N: Okay, so I've decided to not do the episodes exactly how they are in the show, mainly because I don't want to rewrite every little thing I had written before. If I do write some parts from the show, then they're copied from my other stories. Anyway, last time, Kira had a weird dream that she knows is telling her something, but she isn't sure what. Two new rangers appeared, and they're anything but friendly. What'll happen now?
Disclaimer: I only own things not originally in the show.
"This energy transfer should activate the dinozord eggs," the white ranger stated as he transferred some of his energy to a dinozord egg. Orange was doing the same. He and the orange ranger were in a warehouse working on cracking the zord eggs open. Both were morphed, and waiting for a fight.
"Soon they'll be ready for their debut," Orange smirked as White stopped the transfer. "When it opens, there will be only two colors left in the rainbow."
Kennedi woke up and found herself feeling sick. She didn't feel sick as if she was going to throw up, but generally sick as if she felt she was going to pass out at any moment. When she got up and looked in the mirror, she saw she was pale and sweaty. It confused her as to why she was suddenly sick when she felt perfectly fine the day before. She let out a deep breath.
"What's happening to me?"
A while later, Kennedi was on her way to Ninja Ops with Tori. The blonde had found a bracelet on Kennedi's wrist that had them both concerned. Kennedi had no idea what the bracelet was or how she got it. All she knew was that something weird was going on with it and that she couldn't get it off of her wrist. They figured Cam might be able to help them figure out what it was.
Thankfully, the former green ranger was there when they arrived. They explained the situation to him, and he ran a few tests. As he did so, Kennedi began getting an idea of what was going on. Something about the bracelet seemed oddly familiar. It took a little bit, but Cam finally managed to come up with something. "I don't think that's a normal bracelet that's just stuck," he spoke.
"We could've told you that," Tori rolled her eyes. "So what'd you find?"
"The gem in the center of it contains energy and power similar to our ranger ones," Cam explained.
"Wait," Kennedi blinked. "You're telling me that this thing is giving me ranger powers? Ones I have no control over?"
"Would explain your sudden disappearances," Tori shrugged. "So you're saying she's a ranger again and has no control over it?"
Cam nodded. "However, the reason you don't have control over it is because there's some sort of evil encoding in it. It's preventing you from controlling it when you're in and out of morph, and at the moment it's preventing you from remembering what you've done since you got it."
"You're telling me that I'm an evil ranger and have no idea what's going on?" Kennedi raised an eyebrow. "Please tell me you're…" Kennedi's voice trailed off as she suddenly vanished into the air.
Cam and Tori shared a concerned look.
Kira and Ethan made their way into the Cyberspace Café the next day, passing Cassidy and Devin on their way in. The two shared a look and shrugged before making their way over to the bar. It wasn't too crowded yet. Kira was still trying to figure out what her dream was telling her and what the scene the orange ranger showed her meant. The yellow ranger had decided not to tell her teammates about it yet. Hayley walked over to them.
"Hey," she greeted. "Have you seen Trent? I'm a little worried. He hasn't shown up, and he's never…" the boy in question stood behind her and cleared his throat. "Late." Hayley turned to face him.
"Sorry about that," he apologized. "I just had a…"
"Are you okay?" Kira interrupted, noticing how the boy looked a little pale.
Ethan seemed to agree with her. "Yeah, man, I mean, you look like you've just seen Grippleshank."
"Who?" Trent frowned.
"From 'Black Knight's Castle,'" Ethan rolled his eyes. "It's a game that came out just last week. Grippleshank is this massive with, like, black eyes and yellow teeth. He spits this toxic stuff that dissolves you if you look at him."
"Okay," Trent nodded. "I'll watch out for him. But back on planet reality, I got a lot of work to do." Hayley nodded as Trent set off to work.
Hayley turned to the blue ranger. "You know, technically, if he'd seen Grippleshank, he wouldn't be here to tell you about it." She walked away, leaving the blue ranger to contemplate what she said.
"Hey, don't feel bad," Kira smirked. "That's why her name's on the wall." At that moment, their communicator's beeped, indicating to them they had to get to the dino lab.
Kira and Ethan moved quickly into the dino lab to find Tommy and Conner sitting at the computer. They were hoping that the white and orange rangers weren't back yet for another round. "Hey Dr. O," Ethan greeted. "We came as soon as we got the message."
"You guys gotta see this," Conner pointed to the screen.
"Please tell me you know who the white ranger is," Kira hoped as Tommy brought an image up on the screen.
"Not quite," he shook his head. "But look at this." He zoomed in on a white dinozord egg with funky black stripes on it and red spots.
"Hey, what about that one?" Conner pointed to the next one that appeared. This one was more like the normal dinozord eggs.
Kira blinked. "Dino zord eggs all over the place."
"Hey, you think this is what Easter was like millions of years ago?" Ethan mused.
"How does he come up with this stuff?" Conner snorted, amused.
"Conner, Kira, you go to the warehouse," Tommy instructed. "Ethan, you come with me to the docks. We can talk about your dino Easter theory."
With that, the rangers were off.
Conner and Kira had no problem making it to the warehouse quickly. The red ranger held a fossil finder in his hands and was scanning for the dinozord eggs they knew were there. As they walked through the warehouse, Conner couldn't help but notice that Kira looked a little sick. "Hey, are you all right?" he asked, getting her attention.
"I'm fine," she assured. "Why?"
"You just look a little pale," Conner shrugged. "And sick. I was just wondering if you were feeling well."
"Well, thanks for the concern," Kira sighed. "But I'm fine. I just want to find out who these rangers are and deal with them."
"If you say so," Conner felt a little disappointed she was lying to him. He knew she wasn't feeling well at all. He could always tell when she was lying when they were kids, and that hadn't changed much over the years. "Just…if you need someone to talk to, you know I'm here for you, right?"
Kira gave him a small smile. "Yeah, I know. It's just that there's some things I can't talk to you about."
"Like what?" he challenged.
"Woman stuff," she smirked, noting the sudden look of discomfort he got on his face. "I highly doubt you'd want to talk about that."
"Point taken," Conner shook the thoughts from his head. "This makes no sense," he muttered, tapping the scanner.
"Are you getting anything?" the yellow ranger wondered.
Conner shrugged. "I don't know how to read this thing. Why didn't he give Ethan geek duty?"
"Here," Kira took the scanner. "Let me see that." She waved it over an area and moved around. She pointed at an entryway further in. "It's coming from over here." Both ran towards where the scanner picked up a signal. "Why does it always have to be a creepy abandoned place?"
"Let's just get it and get out of here," Conner suggested. He didn't like this either. Both ran down the tunnel, hoping to find something. They rounded the corner and the scanner continued beeping.
"This way," Kira pointed. Both moved further in the hallway. As they neared the next corner, they heard cackling. "At least we know it's not abandoned." They took a few more steps forward. When they peered around the corner, they spotted the white ranger feeding energy to one egg and the orange ranger doing the same to the other.
"Aw terrific," Conner groaned. Both hid against the wall.
"You wanna try talking to them?" Kira offered.
"How about we just morph, kick their butts, and take the eggs instead?" Conner changed the idea.
"Yeah I like that better," she agreed. Both stepped out and faced the rangers. "Hey!"
"I don't have time to play rangers," White huffed. "I'm busy."
"Focus on the eggs," Orange ordered her partner. "I'll take care of these two." She stepped around and faced the two unmorphed rangers. She formed a fire ball and shot it at the two.
"Okay," Conner coughed. "Since when can she do that?" Kira shrugged and Conner turned back to the orange ranger. "We're not here to play."
Orange mock-pouted. "Oh really?"
"Dino Thunder, Power Up!" the two others morphed.
"Ready to get these posers?" Conner asked.
"Oh yeah!" Kira nodded. The two ran forward and Orange streaked through them. She was defending the White ranger. Of course, nothing was going on between the two, aside from a partnership with the fighting. When she stopped streaking, she kicked the two rangers back into a fence.
"Best two out of three?" she suggested.
Kira stood. "Okay, this is getting old."
"No doubt," Conner agreed. Before the two could charge again, Kira's communicator beeped.
"Guys," Hayley's voice rang through. "You've got bad news coming your way."
"Worse than this?" Kira wondered as the ground shook violently.
"Oh man," Conner looked around. "That's all we need." Orange flung him down with a quick swipe of her daggers. She did the same to Kira. "Are you okay?"
"Just great," she huffed.
Orange scoffed. "This isn't even a challenge. Take a hike before you really get hurt."
"Not a chance!" Conner denied.
"We're not leaving without those eggs!" Kira agreed.
"We can stay here and fight," Orange looked bored. "But I thought you wanted to save the city."
"I hate to admit it," Kira bit her lip. "But she's got a point."
"We'll deal with them later," Conner decided. "Let's go!" The two ran out.
"Good answer rangers," White smirked from where he was still working on the eggs. "Leave me and my egg alone."
Orange went to continue helping him.
"I'm getting some seriously strong readings," Ethan reported as he and Tommy checked out the docks.
"Let's check it out on foot," Tommy suggested as he parked his jeep. The two scrambled out and started looking around.
"That egg has to be around here somewhere," Ethan hoped. "This thing's going nuts."
"That doesn't sound good," Tommy widened his eyes as he heard an alarm go off. As they looked for the source people who worked at the docks ran past them.
"Run for your life!" someone shouted.
Tommy stopped one of the employees. "Hey, are you guys all right?"
"There's…" he stuttered. "There's a giant…thing. I don't know what it is, but it's coming this way!"
"Thanks," Tommy thanked. "Come on!" he and Ethan took off running towards the commotion. They came to a stop around a building to find what looked to be a new zord. "Looks like we got here just in time."
"Now what?" Ethan wondered.
"He's all yours guys," Hayley's voice came on over the communicators.
"Good timing Hayley," Tommy thanked as his morpher changed forms to show he had control of the new zord.
"How come mine doesn't do that?" Ethan frowned.
"It's the Parasaur zord," Hayley continued. "Sometimes you just need a little something extra."
"Easy fella," Tommy spoke to the zord. Conner and Kira ran up behind them, still morphed.
"We found the eggs," Conner breathed. "Problem is, so did the white and orange rangers. They're trying to hatch them."
"We gotta stay here and deal with this thing," Tommy sighed.
"Dino Thunder, Power Up!" the remaining two morphed.
"The zords are on their way," Tommy stated. He took off running as the three got ready for their battle. The Brachio zord marched in. It released the other three zords.
"Tyrano Power!"
"Tricera Power!"
"Ptera Power!"
"Thundersaurus Megazord!" Together, they formed their megazord. "Megazord online!"
"You think you got what it takes?" Angor challenged as he faced the rangers. "To drop the Angor?"
"Hang in there guys," Tommy advised from his spot on the ground. "I'll check out the white and orange rangers." He ran off as Angor charged the megazord. The rangers kicked him away, making him stumble backwards.
A short while later, Angor took aim and began charging them, not expecting them to do much with the new zord. The rangers caught the weapon with the scissor like claw they had, cutting it in two. Following that, the three rangers used the same thing to pick up Angor and throw him away. When Angor stood back up, they used one last cut to get rid of him for good.
Over near the warehouse, which was only a couple blocks away from where they were, the ground shook. Everyone turned in that direction to see the new drago zord and another pterodactyl zord come to life. The building caved in as the zords grew to their full height.
"I don't believe it!" Tommy gasped.
"Whoa!" Ethan spotted the zord. "What's that?"
"Give you one guess," Conner growled.
Kira sighed. "They must've hatched the eggs."
The white and orange rangers appeared on top of their new zords. White spoke. "Hello again, rangers. Well, what do you think? If you're going to wear the suit, you gotta have the zord, right?" The rangers took a defensive position. "What? Don't look so shocked. Now, let's see what these birds can do. Drago zord, activate."
"Ptera zord, activate!" Orange followed.
"You guys ready for this?" Conner looked at his teammates.
"Let's do it," the evil rangers agreed.
This wasn't going to end well.
A/N: As I said, most of this was copied over from a previous story of mine. Anyway, up next is the final part of the ranger thunder arc. Then secrets are revealed.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for me to update this!
