Chapter 45- We'll Always Be Watching Over You
"Obra was a demon of Zeref." Mavis told Nina.
Her radioactive green eyes widened. There was a rush of wind, and Rena knew she was making a run for it. She grabbed the raven's wrist.
"You're leaving again?" Rena asked,
Nina just looked at her with a pleading expression.
"Fine, but I'm coming with you." Rena sighed,
"I cannot ask that of you again." Nina said.
"You're not asking." Rena smirked.
"Where are you going?" asked Wendy,
"To find Zeref." answered Nina.
"You don't know where he is though. Do you?"
"No. We'll visit the rubble of Silence and track him from there." Rena informed.
"Let me come with you! I can help, my nose is good for tracking and-" Wendy began,
"It's dangerous to go looking for black wizards Wendy." Charla intervened with disapproval.
"Perhaps Natsu-sama, and Gajeel-sama can be of some help then?" Rena wondered,
"Maybe a group of us can go with you?" Wendy suggested, ignoring Charla. "We Fairies, always look out for our nakama!"
"So stubborn…" Charla grumbled.
"Count me in!" came a childish but booming voice.
Natsu strode up to the trio + Mavis, with a wide toothy grin.
"I wanna know why Zeref knew my name!" said Natsu,
"I wanna know why Zeref created a monster like Deliora!" said Gray,
"If you two are going, someone has to make sure you don't fight each other!" announced Lucy,
"Juvia will go to! She wants to get to know this Gray Fullbuster better." said Juvia,
"I'll go"- Lisanna was cut off my Mira,
"I want you to stay. Please," asked Mira softly,
"Mira-nee?"
"I wanna go!" Romeo interjected.
"Absolutely not!" Macao boomed,
"We'll be sure to look after him," Levy assured him,
"I have a bone to pick with Zeref! Setting Acnologia on us like that." Gajeel swore revenge.
Levy turned her head away.
"I'm touched, everyone, but I think I should do this alone." said Nina.
Everyone froze, and she began walking out of the guild, the only sound was the balls of her feet lightly brushing over the timber floor.
"But you know…" began Natsu,
Nina paused,
Natsu continued, "There no such thing as 'alone' in Fairy Tail. We are your nakama, and will be there every step of the way until truly mean it when you wish us to be gone."
The green-eyed raven sighed.
"Come on then."
And so a new journey begins for Wendy, Mavis, Rena, Nina, Natsu, Gray, Lucy, Juvia, Romeo, Levy, Gajeel and three courageous exceeds. (Namely Happy, Charla, and Pantherlily).
But just as they were about to disappear from sight at the end of the street, a high-pitched voice shouted from the guild. They turned around and a white haired girl stood at the entrance with a clenched fist near her chest and an fore-finger and thumb pointing to the sky.
Natsu smiled and returned the gesture, the others followed suit. Lisanna waved desperately after them, tears cascading down her cheeks.
"Calm Lisanna," said Elfman putting a hand on her shoulder.
…
"Won't Erza be pissed that they went without her?" Sting decided to mention.
"Erza would be pissed if they interrupted her sexy time with her fiancé." Mira pointed out with rippling eyebrows.
"They should have at least written her an apology…" Sting mumbled.
"For you to be so openly concerned for another's welfare is quite rare for you," Rogue joked.
"Fro thinks so to!" the green exceed agrees.
"I'm not cold!" Sting clenched his jaw.
Rogue cocked an eyebrow at him.
"Do you think Erza uses that bondage armor she wore in the Grand Magic Games?" Mira wondered, tapping her chin in thought.
Evergreen sniggers.
"Who do you think would be top?" Laki wondered.
"Even a woman like Erza can be smitten by a man she truly loves." Bisca added.
"I'm just going to take Asuka outside for a moment…" Alzack murmured.
"Daddy, is sexy time what Mummy and Daddy have on a Friday night?" Asuka asked.
"Where did you get that from!?" Alzack exclaimed.
"Oopsy." Asuka sucked on her thumb.
Alzack whisked her up into her his arms and took her outside.
"Bye Honey, have fun!" Bisca called after them with a laugh. "Ouch laughing hurts." she groaned, clutching at her wound.
"You need to sit down." said Kinana, sitting her down.
"Jellal's not submissive himself." Meredy continued the previous conversation.
"Oh really?" Mira ears perked up with intrigue.
"He's too proud, even to stand down to a woman like Erza." said Meredy.
"Man that could be some intense foreplay." Cana mumbled, laying on her back on a table and swishing around the last bit of wine in her flask above her head.
"They should make a bloody hen's lounge for you women." said Laxus, roughly putting down his beer mug.
"Too early to be drinking isn't it Laxus?" asked Mira,
"Cana's drinking." Laxus stated plainly.
"Cana looks depressed." said Lisanna, placing her chin on her hands which where folded over a table.
"No wonder she's so depressed, listening to the lot of you." said Laxus, rising from his seat.
"Don't hate on women Laxus, we're rather majestic creatures you know." Laki pointed out.
"Come on You." Laxus hauled Cana to her feet.
"I don' waaannaaa gooooo!" she moaned.
Laxus rolled his eyes up and scooped her up over his shoulder.
"Heyyy! You put me down now! That's no way to treat a lady!" Cana spluttered.
Laxus continued to walk out of the guild silently.
"Have fun." Sting remarked miserably.
"Oh lighten up." Rogue rolled his eyes.
"Jellal would be top!" Mira exclaimed.
"Still!" Freed exclaimed.
Mira giggled.
"You're lucky I like you…" Freed mumbled.
…
"Where's Master?" asked Yukino,
"You know how Gildarts is, won't stay in one place for very long, has to go on a job or something." said Macao.
"You're worrying about your son." said Yukino.
Macao ordered a pint of beer from Kinana.
"Yes." he nodded.
"My sympathies." Yukino gave.
"It's fine. I don't need sympathies… he's not going to die. Not with that lot." said Macao.
"You're right." Yukino smiled slightly.
"They're brave and reckless…" Macao shook his head, sipping his beer.
"I think they kind of go hand in hand." said Yukino.
Macao smiled. "That they do."
…
"Good Morning Everyone!" Jet and Droy burst through the guild doors.
Everyone exchanges glances.
Jet catches on.
"What?"
"Straight out with it, you think?" asked Laki.
Mira nods.
"Levy-chan left with the others to hunt down Zeref." Laki said plainly.
"What?" Jet repeats.
"I'm not going to repeat myself." Laki sighed.
"Did Gajeel go with them?" he asked.
"We have a winner!" Mira announced, applauding.
"Mira-nee, that was mean!" said Lisanna,
"Hehe, just harmless fun," Mira ruffled her younger sister's hair.
…
"Lisanna… I asked you to stay because I wanted to tell you something." said Mira, settling on the couch in the Strauss living room.
"Mmmm, what is it?" Lisanna asked,
"So you know how close Freed and I have been…" Mira started,
"You're not pregnant are you?" Lisanna's eyes grew wide.
Mira bit her lip and nodded.
"Mira-nee! OH my Gosh!... that's WOW… that's …. You're going to be a mum!" Lisanna exclaimed.
Mira's face lit up, "That's right,"
"Have you told Freed-san yet?" Lisanna wondered,
"No… I'm going to tell him tonight!" Mira revealed.
"Date tonight?" Lisanna asked,
Mira smiled.
"I'm happy for you." Lisanna returned the smile.
"You don't have to pretend that you are- if you're not, I mean after everything that's happened..." Mira said slowly and softly.
"Of course I'm happy for you! I'm a little upset we couldn't have gone through this together… but of course I'm happy for my nee-chan!" Lisanna flung her arms around Mira.
"I know it was really selfish of me to make you stay… but I need you Lisanna. And I think you need to heal." Mira said.
Lisanna thought back to waving goodbye to her nakama, Natsu among them. "How long do you think they'll be gone?" Lisanna asked,
"I don't know." Mira shook her head.
"If they are gone longer than 6 months, I'm going after them."
"Please stay until I have the baby…" Mira requested.
"Fine. 10 months."
Mira smiled. "Thank you."
And that concludes chapter 45!
