Hello everyone. Here's another new chapter for you guys.

Now you'd think, hey it's Saturday, time to relax right? Well, wrong. While at the Brew I apologized for not telling anyone where I went and Aria went back to her normal mood, also apologizing for her anger. I of course accepted because she's my best friend and I know she was going on impulse. But as soon as we came back from the Brew and went to hang at Spencer's for awhile (which took a lot of persuasion to go back to her house after moving out the day before) my day flipped upside down.

It started with noticing an unfamiliar car in front of the house as she was pulling her car through the gates. Usually that's not abnormal since her parents are busy with work and people come over all the time. But then I see that the license plate said New Jersey on it. Again, could have been anyone the Hastings know. That was all of our thoughts until we walked inside and saw a lightly tanned girl who looked a bit like me, sitting in the kitchen. She's wearing blue ripped up jeans, black boots, a green jacket and a mixture of her usual dyed blond hair with blue at the tips of the bottom of her ponytail.

My mouth drops and the girl turns her head towards us. She has a bit of a smile, but it was a mixture of being happy but not being sure if I was happy to see her

"Hola, mi amor." She says slowly. As if being cautious to not set me off.

I immediately sense her bullshit act as she tries to smooth talk me by adding her favorite Spanish phrase...my love at the end of the hello. "What are you doing here?"

"Jessie." Veronica says. "That's no way to talk to your aunt."

If you guessed by now that it's my Aunt Katie (or in Spanish my Titi since she's from my full Hispanic side of the family) then I applaud you. This is the same aunt that I lost contact with because she made me burry my family in New Jersey instead of in Pennsylvania. The same aunt that the Hastings fought custody over and won because she's too immature to take care of a kid. The same aunt that is so close in age to me that people think she's my older sister, and makes it almost impossible to agree on anything at the same time. So I wasn't very thrilled to see her.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I say sweetly. I glance quickly at the girls and see in their faces that they knew what was coming. "Hola, Titi." She smiles, but then I add "Going to make more decisions for me?" In an attitude and her smile disappears.

Peter shakes his head and groans a bit from frustration. "Katie. I apologize in behalf of Jessie on her rudeness."

I go to say something but Spencer gives me a nudge and I have to hold in the urge to scream out in pain. Luckily it was my left side but she hit me hard enough that I immediately lose my breath for a second. "What the hell." I whisper as I rub my side and look at her.

She wraps her hand around my elbow and pulls me a bit closer to her. "Sorry." She whispers.

"I don't expect you to forgive me." Katie says and I look back at her. "I did what I thought was best at the time. Whether you believe that or not is your opinion." She watches me for a second. As if waiting for a response. "But I do expect you to respect me. I'm your family, older family member to be more specific. I'm not one of the kids you can be mean to just because you're having one of your usually attention seeking moments."

"Oh no." I hear Aria whisper from behind me.

My fists go into a ball. I'm aware of Spencer still holding onto my elbow as I was tempted to hit her. "Attention seeking moments?" I try to keep my voice calm but it was a bit louder than I meant it to be. "You're blaming our constant arguments and disagreements on the fact that you think I want attention? Are you stupid?"

"Ohhh no." Aria whispers again but more alert than before.

The whole room got quiet and Katie's eyes flash in anger. It reminded me of the Percy Jackson books. How the god of war Ares eyes flame in fire whenever someone made him mad. The comparison was pretty spot on, especially the being an asshole part. But wouldn't surprise me if the princess thought she was immortal, the way she is. She swears everything revolves around her.

"We need to talk." She says as sweetly as she can, her eyes go back to normal and she gets up. "Por favor."

I gulp a bit, because I knew she was going to yell at me for that outburst. I look around the room, everyone except for Veronica and Peter have worried looks.

"Vámonos, Jessie." She says when she noticed I wasn't following her to the front door.

"Mierda." I curse under my breath in Spanish and walk after her.

She heads over to a tree that was a bit away from the house. I close the door behind me and walk where she is. When I get there she's leaning up against it. I did not like the look she was giving me at all.

"So." She says.

I didn't bother to get any closer. My dislike towards her was enough to keep my distance.

"So." I repeat.

"No phone call. No answering any type of contact I give for weeks and this is how you treat me when I come to visit?"

I cross my arms, watching her for a minute. She kind of had this look of wanting to start something with me, but instead waited patiently. Which for her was not a normal thing to do because patience is not her specialty.

"Ay dios mio, Jessie!" She says, rolling her eyes.

See? No patience.

"Vamos! No tengo todo el día."

"Don't rush me." I take a deep breath. "If you didn't have all day, then what was the point of coming down here?" She just watches me. "But to answer why I'm treating you the way I am is because of all I did to try and make things right between us, you always managed to make it my fault. So I gave up trying. Just because all of a sudden you want to play nice with your niece doesn't mean I have to be nice back." Her expression starts to go into mad mode. "As for this visit. I'm sure it's not a social call. You have a reason. You'd never come to Rosewood unless it was for some kind of favor."

"Is that what you think?"

"It's a fact. Seen it plenty of times when mom and dad were alive."

She slowly nods. "The Hastings seem to have rubbed off on you. Or Joey's cop instincts are finally kicking in from genetics."

"That doesn't even make sense."

"Whatever, brainiac." I roll my eyes. "But yes. I do need a favor actually."

"Well whatever it is, it's not happening."

"Don't jump to conclusions till you hear what I have to say."

"I don't want to hear what you have to say, 'cause frankly I could care less."

I didn't see this coming. She's never been that type of person. But the next thing I know the back of her hand is slapping me right across the face. It stung so bad and hurt like a bitch. I put my hand to my cheek and have a shocked look on my face. When I pull it away, there's blood.

"What the fuck, Katie!" I yell.

"Cállate!" She yells back. "I am your Titi. Do not disrespect me, Jessie. I'm tired of your smart mouth."

I look at her hand and notice a ring. That's what made the cut. But then I noticed that it was an engagement ring.

"You're still with that asshole aren't you?" I say, looking back up to her face. "That rich guy you met from college who beats you."

She looks down at her hand. "Yo lo amo."

"No you don't." I say. "You say you love him to convince yourself that you did the right thing."

She stares back at me. "He loves me too."

"He's rubbing off on you."

"I don't expect you to understand, Jessie." She hesitates. "The favor was that I wanted you to be one of the bridesmaids in the wedding."

My mouth drops. "What?"

I feel blood dripping down my cheek and I lightly wipe it off, wincing as I accidentally hit the cut on my cheekbone.

"I know we aren't close." She says and starts to lean in closer. She raising her hand to my face again and I flinch. My heart starts to race as I imagine her hand hitting me again. But instead she places her hand slowly to my blood free cheek and slowly rubs it with her thumb. "But you're the closest to my sister I have left."

I had to control my urge to cry now. I've never been so scared of her before. But I was also so mad at her that it wasn't hard to tell her "No puedo."

"You can't?" She repeats as her face drops. "You're refusing?" Her temper was rising again.

"I am. And if you don't know why, then you haven't been paying attention to me more than I thought."

"I'm sorry that I hit you."

I shake my head. "Parar." She watches me. "Stop, okay. Just go away. You should have known I wouldn't have agreed to this. The fact that we aren't close is why I'm saying no. Not just because you made the wrong decisions for me, not just because you hit me and not just because you decided to get married to a woman beat..."

She slaps me again. This time my lip opens up and she pushes me to the ground, closer to the tree. "How dare you!"

I look up at her. "You're crazy!" She inches closer and I scramble back, hitting the tree. "Get the hell away from me!"

She watches me for a second, then smiles. "You are such a wimp."

"And you're a lunatic. Lucky for me I got my dad's genes."

She gives me such a nasty look that I knew it was better to run while I could. Instead she gets me to my feet and slams me up against the tree. My whole body burst into a wave of pain.

"I'm the lucky one here." She says. "That I didn't get stuck looking after a brat like you."

I swallow down the lump in my throat as I was about to lose my bravery and break down. But I would not let her see that and think she won. "Then thank the Hastings for making you look bad in front of the judge. If it wasn't for them I'd have the unlucky pleasure of living with you too."

I know I probably should have shut my mouth, but once I start it's hard to stop. Thankfully she just gave me a warning look and walked back towards the house.

"Don't you dare come into this house until I leave." She says.

"My pleasure." I shoot back. "Wonderful talking to you Katie. Have a great life with the woman beater!"

Thankfully she didn't turn back to me. She must have been switching back to her fake nice person act for Veronica and Peter. I waited till she went inside before I collapse to the ground and start to cry. Sometimes I wonder if the reason she's this way is because of the fact that her parents died when she was a teenager too. If they were still alive would she still be this way? Will I turn into her?

I grab my phone from my pocket as it started to ring after I had been sitting in that spot for awhile. Spencer's face pops up on my screen. I debated whether to answer.

Screw it. I say to myself and do my best to hold in my sobs. "Hello?"

"Where are you?"

"Why are you whispering?"

"Because I'm ease dropping on your aunts conversation with my parents. She said you took off."

"No." I say. "I'm outside." I start to walk over towards the house to sit on the porch.

"Then why..."

"Because she did something bad and doesn't want your parents to find out."

"What do you mean?" She must have gone to her room because her voice was louder.

I take a deep breath. "She..." My voice cracks and I wonder if I should just keep it to myself.

"Jessie?" She says worried. "What happened."

"Nada...I mean, nothing."

"Seriously, Jessie. What happened."

I hesitate for a second. "She hit me Spence." Now I was full out crying.

"She what!"

"D-Don't tell your parents."

"Why the hell not." She was pissed, that much was noticeable.

"Because it's going to get worse if they say something."

"No it won't. She doesn't live here and has no rights over you. There is nothing she can do to you. I'm telling them."

"Spencer no! Please." Silence, as she hangs up.

I know it's too late because I hear voices rising not too long later and the front door flies open. Emily walks out as Katie yells. "That's not true!"

"Come on." She grabs my hand and drags me to the gate.

"What's going on?" The gate opens and Spencer's car comes into view.

"Get in." Emily says while I was looking back.

Katie was on the front porch now, yelling over towards me. "You little brat! Telling lies!"

"Esto es amor!" I yell at her and feel tears start to stream down my face. "This is love." I whisper it this time to myself. This is love because protecting someone from hurting you is caring. That's what they are doing for me. Not the way that rich guy does to her. That is not love.

Emily forces me inside the car and we take off. We stay in silence for a good ten minutes while Spencer drives around town. Eventually Spencer passes back a tissue box she had in her car to Emily so she could hand them to me for my face. I was so dazed out though that I didn't even notice it, so Em places the soft tissue on my cheek and I flinch.

"Sorry." She says softly.

I turn a bit to her and I see concern in her eyes, while tears were ready to spill out of my own. So before it does I just nod in an it's okay way, grab the tissue from her hand and look away just as she was handing me another tissue for my lip.

"Jessie." She starts. "What happened?"

I shake my head. "I..." I sniff as I felt myself starting to lose it. "I talked back."

"You always talk back." Aria says and turns around in her seat to look at me. "That's nothing new."

"She's marring that abusive guy."

"Jordan?" Spenser says while our eyes meet each other's in the rear view mirror. "You're kidding."

"Do these injuries look like I'm kidding?" I said it a little meaner than I meant to and I see all of their faces get a little sad. "I mean...she's never been like this before. It's his fault."

"What did you say to her before we left?" Emily says curiously.

"When?"

"Just before I got you into the car."

"Esto es amor." Spencer reminds me. If you knew Spencer as much as I do then the fact she knew that wouldn't surprise you.

"Oh." I say. "I told her that this is love."

"What is?" Em asks.

"This." I say. "You guys are an example of what love is." I see Spence smile from the mirror as she pulls up to the Sports Store and turns off the car. "Not that guy she's marrying. We were having a conversation about it and he has her brainwashed that he loves her and she loves him. That's not love."

"There's nothing you can do about that." Spencer says. She turns around in her seat to face me, switching her body to a kneeling position so her back was to the windshield. "She's an adult, you're the kid. That's her responsibility."

"But she's my aunt. I'm the only family she has left that keeps her close to mom."

"An aunt that hit you because she let her emotions get the better of her." Emily says. "She's supposed to be a good influence on you."

"Why are you defending her?" Aria says.

I shrug. "I...I don't know."

"Mom and dad will take care of Katie." Spencer says. "She won't be bothering you. Not with that temper will she be coming around you again."

I pull both tissues away from my face. Blood was stained all over them.

"Is it bad?" I look up at all of them.

"Define bad?" Aria says with a pale face.

"Do I need stitches?" I say.

Spencer shakes her head. "I don't think so." She leans in closer and places her hand under my chin, turning my face so she could see the cuts. "The cut on your cheek isn't that deep. Cleaning it up and putting some ice will be enough, and your lip will heal in no time."

I nod. Then I look at the store. "Guess since we are here you guys can help me with the inventory?"

They all half smile and nod as they follow my lead out of the car.
