When Mona found out what day Hanna was getting back from the hospital she thought it was a great idea to have some type of party to surprise her and get her back to herself. The girls thought it was a bad idea, I was down but didn't know how it would go since it's Mona and she over does things. I helped her a bit with who to invite and made sure that Amber, Tommy, Rachel and basically anyone that has something against me were not on the list. Except I had no say over Naomi, Riley and the Carrie twins because they aren't just Mona's friends, but Hanna's too.

"They won't bother you as long as I'm around." She says. "You're mine and Hanna's friend too, don't freak."

"Me being your friend didn't keep them from trying to flush my head down the toilet or hitting me at your birthday party."

For a second she has a shocked face. No one except for whoever I blabbed to when I was drunk that night knew. But then her expression changes. "Jessie." She sounds a bit mad now. "You're welcome not to come if you're going to be such a party pooper."

I give her a look. "Nice to know you have my back."

"I do have your back. But this is for Hanna. Suck it up."

So when the day of the party came around I was thrilled, yet feeling shitty about it at the same time. Thrilled because I'm going to be hanging with people I actually like to be around for once at a party. Yet not happy that four people I don't get along with are coming. Good news is that Andrew is going, so I don't have to worry too much about them.

The look on Hanna's face was pretty priceless when everyone walked through her back door yelling "Surprise!" She looked like she was seeing ghosts. It had been awhile since she's seen most of these people.

"It's good to see you." I say when I see her and give her a hug in her wheelchair.

She half smiles. "Hey. How are you?"

I nod. "I'm good. How are you feeling?"

She slowly nods. "Not too bad." Then she turns her head to Andrew, who was standing next to me. "Hey, Andrew."

"Looking good, Han." He says.

I look up at him, giving a warning look. I'm not normally a jealous person but I've always felt Hanna had it easier with boys than I did. She's girly and more popular, even prettier than me. I guess it hit a weak spot for a second.

"Thanks." She says, but I see the awkward look she has on her face as she looks at me.

"Jessie!" I hear Spencer's voice and look to see her waving me over.

"I'll be right back." I say. "Stay with her?" I half whisper to Andrew, my jealousy vanishing quickly.

He nods. "You got it."

I kiss him on the cheek and walk towards Spencer.

"What it is?"

"What's the Carrie twins, Naomi and Riley doing here?" They were in the kitchen already drinking some beer. "I thought you had a say over who was invited?"

"I had a say until it came to Mona's close friends."

"They tease you all the time and she thought it was a good idea for them to come while you're here?"

I shrug. "Well if I remember correctly, Mona's exact words were...you are welcome not to come if you are going to be such a party pooper."

Spencer gives me a look. "You're kidding?"

I shake my head. "Nope."

From there things got a bit hectic. The kid Tommy liked to pick on named Lucas was there and started to get drunk to the point where he was mouthing off to Sean. Everyone knows that Lucas likes Hanna, so a few times I had to pull him aside to calm him down a bit. He was invited because he found out and I knew they were pretty good friends now so I had to push the issue till Mona gave in. If he doesn't knock it off Mona is going to give me an earful.

"Babe." I'm sitting on Andrews lap on one of the chairs in the kitchen, trying to keep an eye on Lucas as much as possible now. "You're at a party. You need to relax." He says when I turn my head to him.

"I'll relax when Lucas calms down." I look away again.

For a second he doesn't say anything. Then I feel his lips kiss my neck.

I laugh. "That tickles."

"I know." He does it again and then turns my body to the side so that I'm looking at him. "Relax." He grabs my chin and brings my face to him.

I put one arm around his neck and my other hand on the side of his face. The noise of everyone around us drowns out like it always does when I kiss him. Then he puts one of his hands on my leg and the other one on my side to make sure I don't fall as he kisses me even harder. As we start to get more into it our glasses collide with each other and I start laughing.

"Shit, I'm sorry. I always do that."

He smiles and tap kisses me on the lips. "It's okay. I was about to stop anyway because well…I drank too much beer."

I get the hint and laugh. "Ah. Yes, good reason."

We both get up and he kisses me on the cheek. "I'll be right back."

He walks down the hall and I go to grab two more beers for us. When I sit back down I look down the hall again and see Aria finally shows up after hanging around with her friend that she seems to constantly be hanging out with and won't tell me who it is. Then Noel ends up talking to her and she seems iffy about it, which is weird because they are dating. But then he walks away and she spots me, walks over and grabs me so we can chill out on Hanna's front porch for a bit.

Instead of wasting the beer I got for Andrew I hand it over to her and then I text Andrew to let him know where I went. He replies with telling me that he found a new friend he made during his basketball meeting. So he'd catch up. I'm happy he's trying out.

"So what was that awkwardness with Noel?"

She looks at me and shrugs. "He's drunk, thought I was cheating on him."

"Wow."

She nods and it gets quiet for a few minutes. "So how did she react?"

"Who?"

"Hanna."

"Oh. It was cool. You don't even understand..." I start giggling a bit. I had just finished my fifth...or was it sixth beer? Well either way it's kicking in now. "She had no idea it was coming." I finish the sentence.

She watches me for a second "No more beer. I'm cutting you off."

"But..."

"You're done. Okay?" I nod then she looks up at the moon. "It's a nice night."

"For romance?" I say and give her a sly look.

Her face turns pale. "W-What?"

I laugh. "I want to know if this secret friend of yours is a guy interest. Why won't you tell me who it is?"

"It's not a guy interest. I'm with Noel, remember?" She looks away.

"But it is a guy."

"It's..."

"Yea but I didn't!" We hear yelling from the tree in front of the house.

When we look we see Alex and Spencer. This is the second time I've seen him from the time they've been dating. He goes to a different school in a different town, so the only time Spence even sees him is at the tennis club or the rare times he's not working.

"Spencer get real. Okay, you and I want different things. You say that you're okay with that but you're not, and you never will be."

"I did not send that in, but I apologize if I made you feel…"

"Don't apologize for who you are and what you want." He says as he gets quiet for a second. "I'm not going to." Then he turns and leaves.

I look at Aria. "Should we?"

"Give her a minute. Then one of us can talk to her."

We watched her stand in the same spot for a few minutes. She was watching the area that Alex disappeared out of sight. I look at Aria and she gives me a nod and pokes me, indicating that it should be me.

"You sure?"

She nods. "You may be out of it, but you give some good advice nonsober too."

I half laugh then I get up and walk over.

"Spence?"

She jumps a bit from my voice then she turns around.

"Wanna talk?"

At first she doesn't say anything. Then she tries. "I...I think he just broke up with me."

"Then he's an idiot." I say. "If he's passing up the opportunity to have you in his life then he's missing out on a great girl."

She half smiles and then throws herself into me, laying her head on my shoulder and cries. You know something's getting to her when she actually shows that she's upset around you.

Not too long later Hanna tells Sean that she wants the party to be over. Besides that the whole thing was probably overwhelming for her, Lucas started with Sean again and that almost ended in a fight. Been there, done that. Not fun to be the one to end a party because you started a fight.

Han didn't want anyone to stick around to help so Aria took off with Andrew, who offered to walk her home since they were heading the same way while I kept Spence company. We went for a walk around Rosewood until we somehow ended up in front of her house. She let out a lot of her emotions without me even asking. She even told me things that were bothering her about Alison and that took me off guard, because I wasn't able to get her to spill those feelings when she was going through them at the time. It's amazing that a guy doing something like that to her got her to release her thoughts for once.

It wasn't until I saw Melissa coming home from wherever she was at almost one in the morning that I decided it was time to head back to Aria's. Spencer gave me a ride and I was surprised to see that Aria was waiting out front for me.

"What are you doing?"

"Well." She says. "If I walked into this house a couple hours ago without you by my side then dad would be having a fit right now. We were at the same party and he would not have been happy that you were out and about without me."

"What has gotten into him?" I say. "Not too long ago he was perfectly fine with us walking through that door at different hours of the day. Even this late."

"Yea. Well that's what happens when your aunt decides she's going to give you a face make over."

My heart sinks.

"Now he's paranoid."

"You're telling me."

We start to climb the steps to the house.

"Plus I wasn't sure if you sobered up." She says. "That would have been interesting seeing you walk in by yourself and having to explain why you were slurring your words. He really would have grounded you for the rest of your life."

And at that note we both walk in and head up to our room for bed.
