Phew, I finally got around to posting this. And I'm not sure if you guys realized this, but I know nothing about record labels, recording artist, or any of that. So if this seems a little..stupid, feel free to tell me. Oh and I want to say thanx for all the support. 56 favs and 127 follows are incredible for me, especially since this is my first fic. I love you all, and without further ado, here's chp.19

It's been five days since Santana told Dani the news about her recording contract with Mercedes. It's also been five days since Dani plastered this "forever supportive smile" on her face whenever her girlfriend wanted to talk about it. Which was all the time. Santana was happy, which of course made Dani happy. But that didn't erase the feeling of disappointment from her mind.

Currently, the girls were walking home after another shift at the diner. Santana noticed Dani was being unusually quiet but didn't want to ask what was wrong just yet. She was hoping Dani would open up to her on her own.

"So what do you want to do when we get home?" Santana asked, snapping Dani out of her deep thoughts.

"I want something to eat, a hot shower, and then some one-on-one time with the couch." She groaned. She was always a bit grumpy after work.

"Sounds like a plan." The walked the rest of the way in a semi-comfortable silence. Santana could still tell that Dani was thinking long and hard about something.

When they got back to the apartment, they went their separate ways. Dani went to take a shower while Santana took the dogs for a walk. Then Santana took a shower while Dani, unwillingly, cooked dinner. They met back on the couch and started watching t.v.

"I'm thirsty. You want anything?" Dani asked, making her way to the fridge.

"Yeah, I'll take a beer."

"Ugh, why is beer the only alcoholic drink in here?" Dani groaned.

"Because the new clerk at the liquor store creeps you out, so you refuse to go there anymore. And because I love Strong Ale."

"Whatever," Dani sighed. She took two beers out of the fridge and made her way back to the couch where Santana had switched to an episode of Game of Thrones. She was pretty engrossed in a scene in which Daenerys shows her boobs for the millionth time on the show. Santana was practically drooling. Dani has long since accepted this about her girlfriend and liked to poke fun at her whenever she could. And Santana would always respond, saying something along the lines of "There's nothing wrong with looking. Besides that Dany's got nothing on you babe," which would make Dani smile.

Tonight though, Dani wasn't in the mood to joke around. She sat quietly on the couch, mulling over her thoughts, which Santana still noticed. She decided she'd been silent enough. Santana flipped off the television, and turned towards the pink haired girl.

"Why'd you turn off the t.v?"

"Because my girlfriend's sad and won't tell me why," Santana said.

"I'm not sad! I'm fine." And there was that fake smile again.

"Uh huh, sure," Santana said as she opened her arms wide, inviting Dani to cuddle with her. "Come here and tell what's going on."

"Fine" Dani crawled across the couch and fell into Santana's secure embrace. She already felt a bit better. "I'm not sad really, just disappointed in myself, I guess."

"Why are you disappointed, you're amazing Dani."

"You seem to be the only one that thinks that," she mumbled.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Santana asked curiously.

Dani sighed "I left everything behind to come to New York and make it big as an artist. Now 4 years later and I'm still working at the diner."

"Oh, so that's what this is about," Santana stated. She didn't expect this to be a deep conversation.

"Yeah."

"Why didn't you tell me how you were feeling? I could have helped you. Mercedes could have put in a good word for you."

"I already spoke to Mercedes' producer, San. He told me they were looking for Hip hop and RnB artists, which I'm obviously not. That's your sound, not mine."

"But-"

"And I didn't tell you because I knew how excited you were to get that recording contract and I didn't want to ruin it with my problems," Dani shrugged.

"Your problems are my problems, Dani. We're in this together, remember?"

"Are we? Because right now it feels like you're years ahead of me," she said sadly.

Santana felt awful. She's seen Dani work hard over the years- working at the diner, writing songs, practicing guitar, and piano. To see Santana get what she wanted for so long, must have been hard.

"And I bet I didn't make you feel better by talking about the contract all the time, huh?" Santana asked quietly.

Dani turned around so that she could her in the eyes. "You had every right to. You're an amazing singer and deserve this as much as anyone else. I'm so proud and happy for you Santana. Really, I am."

Santana felt the heat of a blush move up her neck, and tried to turn away. But Dani just hooked her arm around her neck, and pulled Santana down for a kiss.

"I still want to help you," Santana said after they pulled apart. She wanted to make this right and help out as much as she could.

"You can't. I've tried, apparently I'm not good enough."

"That's bullshit and you know it. You're crazy talented, babe." Santana said without hesitance. She wanted, no needed, Dani to believe that. "We're getting you a record deal no matter what, okay?"

"But I've already tri-"

"No matter what Dani," she said seriously.

Dani's heart swelled and she felt like she could cry. It meant so much that Santana believed in her. That they were going to work together so they both can achieve their dreams.

Dani turned around fully and brought Santana into a tight hug. "I love you so much, you know that right?"

Santana chuckled and hugged her back "You might have mentioned it once or twice."

And in that moment, Dani knew. Regardless of where she was in her career, or whatever was happening in her life, she had already made it big in the best way possible.
