Chapter 9 ✥ Memories and Spells
[Morgiana's POV]
He was there. I couldn't believe my eyes. He had dark blue hair with a huge scar over his right eye. His left eye was sky blue while the other was bright blue. "I know you! You're..."
As I said it, he stepped forward and hugged me, whispering into my ears. "I finally could see you again! How I missed you, Morgiana," he whispered. I was too shocked to know what was happening. Finally I put my hands on his shoulders and pushed. Suddenly my head started hurting and I was seeing black spots in my vision.
"Morgiana... Morgiana!" he shouted. I realized that I was falling, my vision was fuzzy, and my head was swimming. Everything went pitch black as darkness took over me.
~The past~
Where am I? I thought to myself. Suddenly a scene unfolded before my eyes. A little girl appeared in front of me. She looked like she's 11 years old and she looked so familiar...
"Haku-chan!" The little girl shouted as she ran towards a boy, probably 13, who was waving. "Where were you? Your mom's worried!" he said.
"Hahahaha... I had to leave Anya in the garden!" the girl said. I couldn't believe my ears... Anya? It had to be a coincidence!
"Anya can hide... Come on, let's go, Morgiana!" the boy said. Wait wait wait wait!... He said Morgiana, MORGIANA! The little girl nodded, took his hand and followed him. Suddenly I was pulled backwards and was taken out of the scene through a door.
The next time I opened my eyes, there were doors all around me, there were two that was opened, one was where I came from, the one that I saw me as a little kid, and the other was a bright light shining through.
Then another door opened and a white rope curled around my left arm and pulled me towards the door. This time I appeared in a totally different place. There was broken buildings and fire everywhere. Where am I? "So it happened after all..." a familiar voice said behind me. I looked behind me and saw Cynoria looking at the town with sadness shown on her face.
She walked towards me. "Cynoria... I..." I barely said before Cynoria walked passed me. Did she not hear me? I turned around and she wasn't there anymore. The scene in front of me changed so rapidly, I didn't have time to think. The rubble under dirt was rebuilt and everything fell into place. All the cells in my body recognizes this place like the back of my hand. This was my home, my country, Corovella.
"This is-" I was cut off when I saw Gyokuen in a distance. She was saying something but I was too far to hear. I walked closer and saw my younger self in front of her, confusion plastered on her face. She looked like she was only 14 years old.
Gyokuen just smiled and started chanting, lifting her arms and created a fire from thin air. "Bit by bit Corovella shall fade, replaced by a past that are not her own. Day by day this is as I say. All memories of them shall disappear into a forgotten bay. As this paper is consumed in flame, all memories of their time shall burn away, bit by bit," she burnt a paper with the fire. Just before the paper was burnt to crisp, I saw it. My name was on the paper!
The younger me suddenly looked limp and fell down. "Destroy the country or do whatever you want. All we need is the vessel of Cynoria," Gyokuen said, looking back at her followers. I was shocked. So the real story was that I was taken away from home when I was 14. What I remembered was that I lived in the tower for like forever with an uneventful childhood.
"This is the truth of what had happened. Treasure it, as it is now you're own," a voice which I recognize was Cynoria's, said behind my mind.
"Cynoria? Where are you?" I said, looking around, trying to spot her.
"Shhh, I'll explain later," Cynoria said.
After what had happened, the fire that Gyokuen burnt the paper with erupted like a volcano, swallowing the whole town in its wake. I was dragged out of scene as the whole place collapsed.
