Chapter 14: Into The Dark Ocean

All she could see was light. The ground continued to shake even though the explosion subsided. Surrounding Morgiana was a barrier, guarded by Demios' wings. Morgiana realized that Yuna and Luna had dragged both Aladdin and Alibaba into the safety of Demios' barrier.

"Aladdin-san, Alibaba-san! Are you okay?" she shouted as she went to their side.

"We're okay. We need to save Hakuryuu," Alibaba struggled to say.

"Come, Acacia," Morgiana said as she kneeled down beside Alibaba and Aladdin, hovering her right hand just above their wounds. A green light shone from her hands. The light slowly shaped itself to look like vines with leaves from a tree and each vine-like structure proceeded to touch the wounds, healing it in the process. Morgiana was in awe.

I could do something like this? She wondered to herself.

"Yes, this is the power hidden within you," a voice said in her head. A voice she recognise as Cynoria.

I see… How am I supposed to separate Hakuryuu from the black rukh? Morgiana asked Cynoria in her head.

"The Hakuryuu you know is still in there somewhere. You need to bring him to his senses even for a little while, then I can help. The black rukh is stopping me from helping you," Cynoria said.

"Wind, clear my way," a voice from the smoke said. Morgiana turned her head to look. The smoke twirled like a small tornado and then dispersed, as if the smoke was never there in the first place.

Morgiana walked around and stood in front of Alibaba and Aladdin.

"Hakuryuu!" She shouted in desperation. "Come back to your senses! Haku-chan!"

[Hakuryuu's POV]

I could hear someone. Who could be calling me in this darkness?

I slowly opened my eyes. In front of me, there was a glimmer of light, a warm light in a void of darkness. The voice is coming from the light. I reached out to grab the light, it was so bright but I didn't close my eyes. When I got closer, there were scenes being played out.

Is that what's happening while I'm here? Hakuryuu thought to himself.

"...Come to your senses! Haku-chan!" I heard Morgiana say through the light. Finally I realised, I need to help her! This 'Father' is not supposed to be here!

I struggled to get closer to the light and back to reality, but everytome I get closer, something will pull me back. Tendril-like structure curled around my legs, pulling me back to the dark abyss, but I tore my way through.

The moment my fingers touched the light, it spread everywhere. Every part of the dark withered away, bit by bit.

[Morgiana's POV]

Father chuckled. "Heh, do you really think that even your small, pitiful voice could reach the boy?" he said with a smirk.

"I believe in him, he is not weak!" Morgiana said with determination.

"If you think I'm that weak, you're wro-" Father's words were cut short. He suddenly dropped to the ground, gasping, his hands were at his heart.

He looked up at Morgiana. For a moment, Morgiana recognise those eyes. "Hakuryuu!" she screamed, rushing to his side.

"Stop! Don't.. come near.. me!" he said, as he gasped in pain.

"Mor-san!" Aladdin grabbed Morgiana's hand and his forehead started shining with the symbol of an eight sided star. "Solomon's Wisdom!" he said. At that moment, all Morgiana could see was a bright light. The next she opened her eyes, she was in a dimension. The whole place was bright, but the sky above her had some dark clouds.

"Where are we?" Morgiana asked Aladdin.

"We are in Hakuryuu's subconscious. Look, there he is," he replied.

Morgiana look forward to see Hakuryuu in front of a black figure that looked like his shadow. He looked towards us, his eyes suddenly brightened up.

"Morgiana?" When he asked that question, the shadow behind him flinched. Hakuryuu looked like he wanted to say something else, but suddenly the shadow turned into tendrils and started wrapping around Hakuryuu, forming a dark cocoon around him.

It covered Hakuryuu from head to toe and where Hakuryuu's face was supposed to be at, a different face formed. His whole body turned to a different person. He had a dark complexion with long silver hair that was tied into a low pony tail, the top was spiked, his eyes was still closed. He had a black coat covering him.

Morgana looked towards Aladdin but he had a serious expression.

"That's who Gyokuen calls father," he said to Morgiana, pointing his staff towards the unknown man.

"Oh… so its you, Magi, what are you gonna do in here?" the man said, his eyes still closed. It was like he could sense them even without seeing them. Slowly he opened his eyes, ember like fire looked at us.

"Leave Hakuryuu alone!" Morgiana shouted towards him.

He chuckled at Morgiana's expression. "Gyokuen was following a lost cause. I am already dead and cannot be brought back alive by her means," the man said.

"Then why are you still here?" Aladdin asked, which the man didn't answer, only giving a smug smile.

"Let me talk to him," a voice said in Morgiana's head.

Why? Morgiana thought back to Cynoria.

"You'll know the reason why," Cynoria said. Morgiana could only nod.

Morgiana walked towards the man called father and spoke in a different voice, her eyes turned colour, into that deep blue. Morgiana entered her subconscious state with Cynoria in control but is able to see what is happening. "Don't be afraid, Morgiana. I will solve this without resorting to violence," Cynoria reassured her.

"What do you intend to do in this world this time, Balthazar?" Morgana, or Cynoria, said.

The man's eyes widen when he mentioned her name, "Cynoria."

"So you're Cynoria," Aladdin said, not looking very surprised. Morgiana turned only to look at Aladdin and smiled.

"Magi, you and your friend did a great job in helping Morgiana and Hakuryuu. This is only a thank you for you and Alibaba's help," Cynoria in Morgiana's body said as she looked towards the man in front of her. "Now then, Balthazar, answer me," she said.

"Why, what a pleasure it is to meet you again. Your eyes still look as vivid and beautiful as the last time I saw you," Balthazar said, his face displayed a weird expression. An expression that Morgiana recognizes as a longing for something, although she doesn't know what it really was, and there was… sadness.
