I'm in and out of consciousness for I don't know how long. Every time I kind of come to again I hear random conversations. I hear when Bobby finally comes around and he's a complete mess when Aria tells him that I was kidnapped.

"I'm sorry." He says as he sits by my side. "This is my fault, she used me for bait."

All I want to do is yell at him that it isn't his fault. But I can't get myself to even open my eyes to reassure him.

"Sam and Bail are here." I hear him again after a bit of silence. "They want to see you, but you need to wake up."

I try, I really do. But my body is just too weak right now. I can't get my eyes or voice to work.

Sometime later I hear him leave because he has classes. Uncle Byron also has to go because of work and Aunt Ella is emotionally exhausted to process anymore so he tells her go home with Mike so they can rest a bit. Aria refuses to leave and that's when the girls and Andrew get here. I so want to see his face, but I still can't find the strength to open my eyes. I can't believe he comes back from Florida and the first time he is seeing me is like this.

Their convo is iffy for me to really hear as I'm trying to keep myself awake. I remember Spencer asking if I've woken up yet and if I've mentioned anything about what happened to me.

"She woke up earlier but she didn't say anything Mona." Aria says. "When I asked how she was she went into some kind of trance."

"A trance?" Andrew asks.

"She was just blankly staring at nothing and muttering random words that I have no idea what to make of it. She did the same in the ambulance after the EMT had to give her something to calm her down when the cop asked her to tell him what happened."

"So basically she shuts down." Spencer says.

"I think it was more of flashbacks?" Aria says. "She kept saying things about whining, getting hurt, tape and spiders. But it wasn't in full sentences."

Spencer must have given some type of look because Emily asks. "What's wrong Spence?"

"Well…I think I know what she meant."

"Care to share?" Hanna says.

"When I was at the A lair, Mona had pulled out a box with a tarantula in it from one of the drawers. She must have done something to Jessie with that spider."

"Oh my God." Andrew says.

"Then Mona yelled at her in the car about wanting her to stop whining and it scared the hell out of her. I mean, her face turned into pure fear and she completely stopped what she was doing for a bit when Mona said that. There must have been some type of consequence whenever she whined."

That's the last conversation I remember until I wake up again hearing the sound of beeping and light breathing surrounding me. Other than that it's quiet, and for a split second I think I'm still stuck in Mona's creepy lair. I'm afraid to attempt to open my eyes, so I keep them closed for a bit longer.

Please be a dream. I think. I'm home and going to be in my own bed waking up from a nightmare.

I take a breath and start to slowly open my eyes. I realize I'm curled up in a ball on my side and the first thing I see is Hanna and Emily on the sofa. Hanna is sleeping with her head on her fist and her elbow on the armrest. Emily is curled up laying on Hanna's lap with a blanket over her and Hanna's other arm stretched out, as if she was holding her. Then I spot two people on chairs that are pulled up to my bed. Andrew's sleeping on it with his head on my bed and holding my hand. Spencer is sitting in the chair next to him reading the newspaper.

In big letters on the front page I'm able to make out MISSING TEEN MAYA ST. GERMAIN FOUND DEAD! A picture of her that's taking up almost the entire page makes my heart sink and then race.

Spencer looks up from the paper, noticing the fast pace of the heart machine picking up. Her face is pale until she sees me. "Jessie." She takes a breath, as if relieved and gets up.

I close my eyes, taking a deep breath to calm myself down. Poor Em must be devastated.

"You're alright." She's next to me now. Then her hand falls on top of my head, scaring me for a second that a flash of Mona's face comes and I make a scared noise. "It's okay." I take one more deep breath and I open my eyes again. She's smiling at me in comfort. "Hey."

I smile a bit. I don't have the oxygen mask on anymore, so that's probably a good sign. I still feel very weak though, and very tired. You'd think after all the drugs I got put into me to sleep I'd be over the whole sleeping thing, but my body is practically begging for it.

I then look down at her hand and see she is still holding the paper. With my free hand that isn't being held by Andrew I point to it.

She looks down and hides it behind her back. "That's nothing you need to worry about."

"What happened to Maya?" I whisper weakly.

Her face drops. "How did you…"

"I saw it Spence. What happened?"

She looks behind her to see if Hanna or Emily are awake, then looks back to me. "Someone killed her." She whispers.

"What?" My eyes widen.

"We don't know details. They found her in Em's backyard when we were walking her home."

I look behind her at Emily then look back at Spencer. "How is she?"

She shakes her head. "Not so good. It took a lot for her to get out of the house to see you."

"She didn't have to. Especially after finding out news like that."

"She wanted to." She heads around the bed to grab my glasses from the nightstand.

I sit up and watch her as she walks and almost have a heart attack when I notice that Aria is curled up in a ball under the covers of the bed right beside me. "Jeez." I jump a bit, the machine races and I take a breath. "Could have told me she was sleeping there."

She smiles. "I'm sorry. Didn't realize you hadn't looked that way."

She walks back around and hands me my glasses. I gently take my hand out of Andrews and put them on, her face becoming clearer instantly. My left side still seeing multiple but better than seeing her blurred.

"Better?"

"Yea." I nod. "Much."

"Good." She slowly sits next to me so she won't wake Andrew up. "Anyway. Em wanted to come see you. The last we saw you, you were a mess and getting rushed to the hospital. We had no idea what kind of condition you were going to be in after what I can only guess was probably hell."

I look away and start admiring my fingers instead. "Well I'm fine."

"Are you though?" I don't look at her as she continues. "Because the way you reacted when Mona…"

I jump a bit, closing my eyes and shake my head.

"Yelled at you…" She stops for a second. "See. You can't even hear her name without reacting to it. It was the same thing you did when she told you to stop whining in the car. You were scared out of your mind. I saw it in your eyes. What did she do to you?"

I look at her, tears forming in my eyes. "I-I can't."

"Yes you can. It's me, you can tell me anything."

I shake my head. "I just want to forget. I don't want to talk about it."

"I know. I can't imagine what she did but you have to eventually get this out. You can't keep this to yourself."

"I will. Just not now."

"Ah, Jessie. You're up."

We both look over towards the door and standing there is...

"Wren?" I say completely confused.

He smiles. "It has been awhile."

His British accent makes me melt. "Yea, months actually."

"Yea…well, you know." I nod, getting what he means by that and he walks over. "So I'm your doctor."

"What happened to Dr. Richard? Wait. I thought you worked in the hospital in the town next door."

"I was transferred here awhile ago. It was my first choice when I was still engaged to Melissa. And Dr. Richard has had his hands full for the last few days so I've been helping." He gets to the bed. "You were sleeping when I came around the other times to check on you."

"Is she okay?" Andrew voice comes.

I look to the side and watch him sit up in his chair, rubbing his eyes sleepily. Then I notice that Hanna and Emily are both starting to stir awake on the couch, and I feel Aria moving around next to me.

"Besides some cuts and bruises, she's fine." Wren says. "Nothing majorly alarming, just need to rest to build your strength back up. You need plenty of sleep, lots of water and make sure you're eating. Don't skip meals." He starts writing something down. "I'm going to prescribe you medication. So you need to make sure you always eat before taking them. One is to help you sleep, the other for anxiety. I was told you've had that for awhile now."

I nod, looking at the girls as they are now wide awake.

"Then that will be a permanent medication for you. Make sure you always refill when it's done." He puts the prescription note on the nightstand by the photo of Rick Riordan. "I told you're aunt and uncle that if you are feeling alright you can go home today."

"Really?"

He nods. "As I said, you're fine. Nothing major to worry about. Just need to rest up. So I recommend not to do anything physical and not going to school for the week. I'll write you a note to excuse you from school for this week and from playing gym the following week."

I nod. "Okay….thanks."

He smiles. "Of course."

"Wren." Spencer says. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

He nods. "Sure."

She smiles at me. "I'll be right back." She kisses me on the head and then goes off to the hallway with Wren.

I feel a finger poke me on my side and I flinch. "Ay." I get out weakly and look at Aria.

She gives me an apologetic look. "That was the bad side wasn't it?'

I nod. "Yea."

"My bad."

I half smile. "All good. Sleep okay?"

She laughs. "Yea. You?"

I nod. "Yea, it wasn't too bad."

The bed starts to move as Andrew sits in the spot where Spencer was. "Hey, beautiful." He kisses me on the cheek.

I look at him and see him smiling at me. However, I can see past the smile and see in his blue eyes that they are concerned.

"How are you?" his worried voice comes out.

I slowly nod. "I'm good. Still a bit tired."

"Well the doctor did say that you need a lot of rest."

"True." I smile at him and can't help but continue to.

"What?" He says smiling back. He looks so cute with his messy bed hair.

I thought I wouldn't see you again. I think to myself, but instead I rub down his hair to fix it and say. "I love you. Do I say that enough?" Hanna and Em are still sitting on the sofa behind him, Aria joins them and I just make out them smiling at me.

His smile brightens. "You do actually." He says nodding. "Every day."

I rub my thumb on his cheek, his beard is growing in. I love when he has the scruffy look. He's not even wearing his glasses, which I also love. It brings out his eyes more. Then I lean in and don't hesitate to kiss him lightly on the lips. I meant for it to be a quick tap but before I can fully pull away he grabs the back of my neck to pull me back to him and for a second I panic, remembering how Mona did this to make me look into her crazy eyes.

"It's okay." He says as the machine goes crazy.

I hear random sounds come from behind him. I'm pretty sure the girls panic when they hear my heart rate, but I keep my eyes on him.

"It's okay." He says again as he smoothes his thumb against my cheek that isn't cut up.

I watch him. His eyes aren't the same demented look Mona had. It's soft and warm like he needs me to see that everything is okay. It relaxes me instantly.

When he sees that I'm alright he leans in and kisses me. Kissing him feels like the most amazing thing after everything I went through. The world dissolves around us and the noise from the machine disappears. My anxiety isn't even in my mind anymore and I don't notice that my messed up lip hurts as we do. I can't imagine myself anywhere else but in this moment because I'm so out of the universe right now that I don't want the feeling to go away. But sadly he pulls away from me, the world comes back to view and the beeping is noticeable again.

He still has his hand on my face, smiling at me and looking into my eyes like he never wants to look away. I can't help but stare at them, the passion in his eyes as he watches me makes me know that I'm safe and that he actually loves me. No guy I have liked has ever looked at me the way he is and always does. Then he kisses me on the nose and I can't help but smile from ear to ear.

"I got you something." He says.

"You did?"

He nods. "Yea." He leans over to grab something that's under the seat he was sitting in.

I don't realize Spencer was back until I see her sitting on one of the armrests on the couch with the others, watching me with smiles. "Awww." They mouth to me.

I start turning red. "Shut up." I mouth back.

He gets back up and turns to me. In his hand is a thick long black box about the size of my forearm. "I have a surprise for you." Mona's voice echoes.

The excitement fades and I shake my head, the machine going crazy again. "No more spiders."

He looks at me. "What?"

I start to shake and watch the box in fear. I see the girls all look at each other in concern from behind him.

He gives me a weird look. "It's not a spider." He wipes a tear away from my cheek. "I promise."

He hands it to me and I look down at it. For a second I don't make a move, but then I slowly grab it and start to pull up the sides of the box. The top slides off the bottom and my eyes widen in surprise.

"Is that…"

"Ginny Weasley's wand." Andrew finishes for me.

Spencer gets up from the armrest and walks over to see it. "That looks legit."

"We went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter over in Orlando. Got it at Ollivander's Wand Shop."

"Wow." I say, my heart finally relaxing. "That is incredible." I take it out and admire it.

"I saw it and I had to get it. Ginny's your favorite right?"

I nod. "You know me so well. Thank you."

He smiles and kisses me. "Of course I do."

From there we all chat. They don't bother me with questions for now. I know they will eventually but I'm grateful that they don't swarm me with them at that moment. Then some hours later Uncle Byron comes around to pick me and Aria up to take us home. He brought me a bag of clothes from home so I can change while he's signing the papers to indicate I'm okay to leave. He has to do it since I'm a minor.

I'm still too weak to walk around but Spence helps me get to the bathroom. "You're okay to go in there on your own?" She kind of looks at the bathroom like it's creeping her out.

I get what she's feeling though because all I can think of is being tied in the corner of the last bathroom I was in. I do all I can not to panic. "Yea, I just…" I look at her. "I need to get changed into not dirty stuff." I give her a look and she seems to get what I mean. "Can you not mention to anyway that I peed on myself." I whisper to her, feeling embarrassed.

She nods. "I won't, but you shouldn't feel bad about it."

"I know, but I do."

She gives me a sad look and nods. "Well…if you need us you ask okay."

I can barely hold up my own weight while I change out of my clothes, so I have to hold onto the sink or sit on the toilet the whole time. Then when I get out I take one step before I fall and surprisingly Hanna is the one who catches me.

"You okay?" She helps me to my feet.

"Yea…my legs are a little weak."

"I got you." She says as she helps me back to the bed so I won't collapse.

For about ten minutes I'm leaning up against Andrew with his arms around me from behind on the bed. Both of our sets of fingers locked together while I have my head laying on his arm and his chin resting on my head. I'm just about to knock out when Uncle Byron finally walks in.

"Ready kiddo?"

I yawn and slowly nod. "Yea."

Andrew lets go and scoots out from behind me. "I'll come visit tomorrow okay?" He says and kisses me. "I love you."

I smile, "I love you too."

"We'll pass by too." Spence says as they all give me a hug.

When Em gets to me I grab her hand before she turns to go. "You okay?" I ask. "I heard what happened."

Her eyes kind of sadden and shift around. "I'm hanging in there."

"If you need to talk I'm here."

She smiles. "I know. Same with you. Right now I'm worried about you."

I nod. "I know. I'll explain when I can."

She gives me a slightly smile, seeming to be super distracted. I of course can't blame her. Then she gives me one last hug and follows Andrew, Hanna and Spencer out the door.
