Once A Guardian II

Sequel to "Once A Guardian". Months have passed and things aren't going good for our three new Guardians. But after a funeral, three of Will's friends move to Heatherfield and two of them end up becoming Guardians. Can Will put her anger towareds Cornelia aside and be happy for her two friends, or will a new enemy take advantage of her anger?

29. Break-Ups, Get-Togethers, & Asked Out

Chapter 29:

Moments earlier...

"Are you sure about this?", Cornelia asked Will as they were about to start their sparring. "I mean if Irma were to see us doing this, she'd..."

"Freak out and say that you were trying to attack me, to which the others would tell her what was going on.", Will said. "Don't worry about it, Cornelia."

"Okay.", Cornelia said as she took a fighting position. "Let's do this!"

"Now you're talking!", Will said as she took her fighting position.

Soon both girls were having their sparring match but, like the others, were making sure not to go overboard with their sparring. As they were sparring, they moved with great skill and agility matching each other move for move. If one didn't know any better, you'd think that they had been training together for a long time. Smiles grew on their faces as they were enjoying their sparring.

To bad that was about to end badly.

About a minute away from them and the others were Caleb and Irma, who were on a mission. To convince Will not to switch Caleb for Cornelia.

"I can't believe she wants to replace me for HER!", Caleb said as he made his way through the forest. "I thought that Will was happy to have me apart of W.I.T.C.H.!"

"You have to prove that you being with us is way better than having Corny.", Irma said. "Once you do that, it'll be all good."

"That won't be a problem.", Caleb said as he suddenly picked up the sound of fighting going on at a distance. "What the...?", he questioned a he ran towards the sound of the noise.

"Wait for me!", Irma said as she ran after Caleb.

Soon Caleb and Irma found the source of the sound. They had finally found the others and saw that some of them were doing some sparring. But what caught their attention, quickly, was the sight of Will and Cornelia sparring with each other. At that moment, Caleb saw that Cornelia was attacking Will and he needed to protect her from the blonde witch. So he did the first thing that came to him.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!", the booming voice of Caleb roared getting the attention of everyone there as they turned to see Caleb with a look of fury on his face as he glared at Cornelia before he charged at her like a mad man.

"Oh no.", was all Hay Lin could say fearing the worse.

"Aw, crap!", Cassidy said knowing what was coming if Caleb wasn't stopped.

But with his anger and fury, Caleb was a bit to fast for the others as he ran up to Cornelia and back-handed her across the face surprising everyone there as Cornelia fell to the ground.

"Yes!", Irma cheered thinking Cornelia had been exposed as the enemy she and Caleb saw her as.

"I knew you couldn't be trusted!", Caleb snapped as he walked towards Cornelia like a predator stalking it's prey. "They should never of made you a Guardian!"

"Caleb, STOP!", Will demanded as she grabbed his right arm and Cassidy grabbed his left only for him to fling them off with his telekinesis, not caring who it was that grabbed him.

Will was flung against a tree while Cassidy was flung to the ground as he head hit a rock knocking her out.

"Will!", Angelo, Taranee, and Selece cried as they ran towards Will.

"Cassidy!", Aldern and Hay Lin cried as they ran to Cassidy.

"Get back, Caleb!", Alchemy demanded with her arms stretched out as she stood in between Caleb and Cornelia who slowly got to her feet.

"Get out of my way you wannabe Guardian!", Caleb snapped at Alchemy.

"Make me!", Alchemy demanded.

"Alchemy, no!", Cornelia said. "You'll get hurt!"

"I'm not going to let him hurt one of my friends!", Alchemy said.

"Have it your way!", Caleb said as he was about to use his telekinesis on Alchemy when Micheal grabbed Caleb by his shoulder and spun him around only for him to punch Caleb for smacking Cornelia.

Caleb fell to the ground only to quickly get to his feet ready to fight Micheal when...

*SMACK!*

Caleb stopped in his tracks as he was now face to face with Elyon looking down at him with a glare as her eyes began to water.

"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!?", Elyon snapped surprising Caleb. "You attack Cornelia then you hurt Will and Cassidy!"

"What!?", Caleb questioned as he turned around to see Cassidy lying on the ground and Will being helped to her feet by Angelo with Taranee and Selece standing by.

"Did I do...? Will!", Caleb cried out as he ran towards her.

But as he got closer to Will...

*SMACK!*

Caleb just stood there in shock at what just happened. He then slowly touched the side of his face that Will just slapped. He then looked to see a very angry Will who was glaring at him.

"Will, I..."

"I'm done.", Will said as she turned her back to Caleb. "It's over between us."

"Will?", Caleb questioned not believing his ears.

"I'm tired of your attitude towards Cornelia!", Will snapped as she turned to face Caleb with tears running down her face. "I'm tired of the things you and Irma say about her and I'm tired of how you treat her. And what you just did was the last straw! You hurt Cornelia, Cassidy, and me! What's wrong with you!?", she asked as Caleb was about to reach out for her hands. "Don't touch me!", she said as she snatched her hands away. "After what just happened, I know that I've made the right decision about W.I.T.C.H.!"

"You mean switching me and Cornelia?", Caleb questioned in a dark voice.

"How did you...?", Will began to ask when she looked towards Irma. "Did you tell him when I told you not to!?"

"Of course not!", Irma said.

"I overheard Irma and Matt talking about it.", Caleb snapped.

"When?", Matt asked. "I only talk with Irma about it today after school."

"I have my ways.", Caleb said before he was suddenly tackled by Aldern who began to punch Caleb only for Angelo and Drake to pull him off.

"You hurt her! You could have killed her!", Aldern snapped as Angelo and Drake were holding him back from Caleb as he slowly got to his feet.

"What is your problem!?", Caleb asked his friend as he wiped some blood from his lips.

"You could have killed Cassidy!", Aldern snapped as he was still being held. "You're foolish mistrust hurt Cassidy!"

"It's okay, Aldern.", Elyon said as she was using her powers to heal Cassidy's had wound. "She'll be fine."

"No thanks to Caleb.", Selece said as Aldern walked up to Cassidy who was still unconscious.

Once Elyon finished healing the bruise on the side of Cassidy's head, Aldern moved her so that her head was resting in his lap.

"She'll be okay, Aldern.", Elyon said as she placed a hand on his shoulder before she went up to Will to see if she needed any healing. "You okay, Will?"

"Yeah.", Will said as she rubbed her shoulder. "My shoulder hurts a bit though."

"Let me take care of that.", Elyon said as she began to heal her shoulder.

"What I'd like to know is why you came here in the first place.", Taranee said to Caleb. "Last I checked, you weren't suppose to be here."

"I came here to convince Will to not replace me with Cornelia.", Caleb said.

"Well, you screwed that up.", Alchemy said. "And another thing. I didn't like that wannabe Guardian crack you made either!"

"Like I care about what you think!", Caleb snapped surprising Alchemy and the others. "You and your teammates aren't real Guardians! Your powers were created by Nerissa! A rouge Guardian!"

"And your mother!", Will said getting Caleb's attention. "Cassidy and her team are Guardians just like us! That's something you need to realise, Caleb. Cause tomorrow, you're going to be part of the team while Cornelia returns to W.I.T.C.H. But for now, just leave and head back home."

"I refuse to leave!", Caleb said. "Not until we talk things out."

"There's nothing to talk about.", Will said as Elyon finished healing her shoulder. "You came here when you weren't suppose to. You then attacked Cornelia, because of you mistrust of her, followed by hurting me and Cassidy. I've tried to put up with your issues with Cornelia and the others. But after what just happened, I just can't take it anymore. We're done, as a couple, Caleb. I know it may take a while, but I hope that we can still be friends. But for now, just leave."

"But, Will..."

"Please, Caleb. Go back to town.", Will said in a pleading tone.

Caleb then looked around to see that everyone didn't want him there. Not even Aldern who still had Cassidy's head resting in his lap while giving Caleb a look of anger and disappointment. Caleb said nothing as he left the area feeling defeated and heartbroken. Once he was out of sight, Will let out a tiring sigh as she leaned against Angelo who was standing next to her.

"You okay there?", Angelo asked.

"Yeah.", Will said with a weak smile. "Between my sparring match with Cornelia and what just happened, I need a little break."

"Yeah, that'll do it.", Angelo said as he helped Will sit down to get some rest. "You could use a break."

"What about Cornelia?", Will asked. "How is she doing?"

"She's okay.", Selece said.

"Elyon is healing her cheek.", Taranee said as they looked to see Elyon healing Cornelia's cheek.

"Well, that was... something.", Elyon said with a smile hoping to cheer Cornelia up a bit.

"Yeah. Something alright.", Cornelia said. "But I just know that this is just going to make things worse."

"Don't talk like that.", Elyon said. "Caleb brought this on himself. That's something he needs to see. And once he realises what kind of a jerk he's been, he'll be apologizing to all of us."

"Thanks, Elyon.", Cornelia said with a smile that Elyon returned before turning to Alchemy. "You could have gotten yourself hurt you know."

"True. But you would have done the same for me.", Alchemy said flashing a smile getting a small laugh out of Cornelia and Elyon as Micheal came up to them.

"You okay?", Micheal asked Cornelia just as Elyon got finished healing Cornelia's cheek.

"Yeah.", Cornelia said as she stood up. "I've been through worse."

"I'm just glad you're okay.", Micheal said getting a smile out of Cornelia.

"Thanks.", Cornelia said with a smile.

As for Cassidy, she slowly came to with a groan as she felt her head.

"Oh! My head.", she said as her vision cleared and she saw Aldern looking down at her. "Hey, you.", she said with a small smile.

"Hey.", Aldern said returning the smile as he moved some of her hair from her face. "You okay?"

"Yeah.", Cassidy said as she slowly sat up. "So where's Caleb?"

"I sent him away.", Will said. "After breaking up with him."

"Wow! Really?", Cassidy asked.

"Yeah.", Will said. "I think it was a long time coming."

"Only time will tell.", Selece said as she sat next to Will.

"Like you care.", Irma said.

"What was that?", Selece asked Irma.

"You heard me!", Irma snapped. "You didn't like Caleb to begin with! Matter fact, a lot of you didn't! Seeing Will break up with him was probably a good day for just about all of you!"

"First off, I don't like how Caleb has been acting. I don't hate the guy.", Selece said. "And second, seeing Will break up with him is not a good day for me or any of the others."

"Yeah right!", Irma said before turning her attention to Will. "And how could you just break up with Caleb? He simply just made a mistake when he saw you and Corny sparring."

"A mistake in which Cornelia, Will, and Cassidy got hurt.", Matt replied. "Even I think Caleb went to far."

"But everyone is okay now.", Irma said. "Just talk to the guy, Will. I'm sure he's sorry for what he did."

"You don't get it, Irma.", Will said. "He shouldn't have been here in the first place. But you go and bring him here in hopes of talking me into not switching him for Cornelia. Which I still plan on doing."

"And further more, where was Caleb hiding when you and I were talking earlier today?", Matt asked Irma.

"I think she had him hide so he could overhear you two talking.", Alchemy said. "That way he would find out about Will wanting to make Cornelia apart of W.I.T.C.H. and try to change her mind without her telling him."

"Is this true, Irma?", Hay Lin asked her best friend.

"Well...", Irma began to say.

"Unbelievable!", Matt said. "You did do that! What is wrong with you?"

"Me!? What's wrong with all of you!?", Irma questioned. "How can you all trust Cornelia after what she did? We can't trust her around us knowing that Nerissa can escape her jewel prison and take control of her!"

"So you're saying that Cornelia can't be trusted due to the fact that she was once under the control of Nerissa.", Angelo said.

"Yes!", Irma said.

"Like I was?", Matt questioned.

"Yes! I mean no!", Irma said.

"You know something, Irma? I've had it with how you've been talking about Cornelia.", Matt said. "I know what she's been through. Yet you could care less about how she feels. And deep down, I think that you want to get with Caleb yourself."

"Say what!?", Irma questioned.

"You heard me!", Matt said. "You're always defending Caleb when someone says something about him. I know he's our friend, but I never seen you defend any guy like you defend him. Not even me. And I'm your boyfriend!"

"He does have a point.", Alchemy whispered to Cornelia and Elyon who nodded in agreement.

"Well, if that's how you feel, then maybe we should break up so you can hang with Cornelia! Your mind-control buddy!", Irma snapped surprising everyone there.

"Now that was messed up.", Selece said.

"Totally.", Will said.

"You know what? I'm done.", Matt said looking Irma straight in the eyes. "It's over between us, Irma."

"Oh really?", Irma questioned.

"Yes, really.", Matt said. "We're through.", he said as he walked away from Irma and headed home. "Goodbye!"

"Fine! Leave! I can do better than you, Matt Olsen!", Irma yelled as Matt walked away. "Oh! And you didn't break up with me! I broke up with YOU!", she yelled before she teleported away.

"Wow!", Taranee said. "Didn't see that coming."

"Same here.", Cassidy said.

"So what now?", Hay Lin asked.

"For now, we go home and get some rest.", Cassidy said as she stood up with Aldern. "We all could use some."

"Yeah. That sounds like a plan.", Will said as she got to her feet. "We can discuss our plan for the factory tomorrow."

"Until then, we get some rest and hope we can all come together for Friday.", Angelo said as he and the other Guardians and Elyon gathered together and teleported from the forest with Drake and Aldern in tow.

As for Caleb, he was walking through the streets of Heatherfield after teleporting back there feeling down after Will broke up with him.

"I can't believe she ended things with me.", he said as he walked down the sidewalk. "All I was doing was trying to keep her safe from Cornelia and she breaks up with me. And then Aldern attacks me saying that I could have killed Cassidy, yet Elyon was able to heal her. I know he likes her, but he went overboard with his actions. But I can deal with him later. Right now, I have to find a way to get back with Will before Cornelia tries and turns her against me and Irma even more.", he said as he looked up to see that he was back at the Vanders' residents. "Well seeing as I'm here, I might as well go in and get some rest before the others return and give me a hard time.", he said as he headed inside the house.

In another part of town, Micheal had walked Cornelia home just to make sure she was okay. The walk home was a bit quite for them, seeing as Micheal wanted to ask Cornelia something important, yet didn't know how to ask her. As for Cornelia, she figured that something was up with Micheal yet didn't know what it was. So when they arrived at the door to her apartment, she took a deep breath and...

"Is something wrong, Micheal?", Cornelia asked as they stood at the door.

"Ummmm... well... We've been dating for a good three weeks and have been through a lot of stuff. And I mean A LOT of stuff.", he said getting a giggle out of Cornelia knowing what he was talking about. "So I've been thinking that maybe we're ready to take things to the next level. If you know what I mean."

"You mean... Be coming a couple.", Cornelia said knowing where Micheal was going.

"Yeah.", Micheal said. "I know that it's a bit sudden after what just happened today, but..."

Micheal was cut off by Cornelia who gave him a quick kiss surprising him. Micheal who was stunned by what just happened looked at Cornelia to see her smiling at him.

"I'll take that as a yes.", Micheal said with a smile of his own as he and Cornelia shared another kiss only for the apartment door to open with Elizabeth Hale standing there.

"Am I interrupting something?", she asked with a smirk causing both teens to pull away from each other.

"Mom!", Cornelia said surprised to see her mother.

"Hello, Cornelia.", Elizabeth said before she turned to Micheal. "And you must be Micheal. Nice to meet you.", she said as she extended her hand to him.

"Ummmmm... Hi, Mrs. Hale.", Micheal said as they shook hands. "Nice to meet you, too."

"Thank you.", Elizabeth said with a kind smile. "Would you like to come in? We were just about to have dinner."

"Thanks but, I have to get home.", Micheal said. "My mom is making my favorite meal tonight so I better get going. I'll see you tomorrow, Cornelia."

"See ya.", she said before they shared a quick kiss.

Micheal then headed down to the elevator to head to the first floor. Once in the elevator, Micheal looked to see Cornelia wave to him to which he waved back as the elevator doors closed. Once the closed, Cornelia went inside her apartment home to see her mother smiling a sly smile at her.

"He's cute.", Elizabeth said with a grin.

"Mother!", Cornelia said while rolling her eyes.

"What?", Elizabeth said with an innocent look. "Just making a comment. I take it that was your first kiss.", she said causing Cornelia to blush. "Uh-huh! First kiss alright.", she said with a laugh as Cornelia went up to the Kitchen to get a glass of water to drink.

Once in the Kitchen, Cornelia got her glass of water and began to drink it. She then placed the glass in the sink as a smile grew on her face thinking about her first kiss with Micheal which also meant that they were now a couple. For once, something good was going for her that neither Caleb or Irma could ruin for her.

And for that, she was grateful.

Now in another part of town, Angelo had walked Will home making sure she was okay.

"Well today was fun.", Angelo said as they stood at the door of the Vandom apartment. "You going to be okay?"

"Yeah.", Will said. "It'll take me a while but I'll get over my break-up with Caleb. Granted he'll try and get back with me. Which should be interesting."

"The best thing I can suggest is that you make sure you really want to end things with the guy.", Angelo said. "You may have second thoughts tomorrow."

"Maybe.", Will said. "But after today, I think I've actually reached my limit with Caleb and how he's been acting."

"Well whatever you choose, is up to you.", Angelo said. "But know that you have me and the others at your side."

"Thanks.", Will said before she gave Angelo a kiss on the cheek. "For everything."

"No problem, Will.", Angelo said. "That's what friends are for.", he said with a smile that Will returned before she headed inside her home.

"See ya tomorrow.", Will said.

"See ya.", Angelo said as the door slowly closed and he headed for the elevator.

As for Will, she headed for her bedroom glad that her mother wasn't home yet and kicked off her shoes and laid on her bed. It was then she let what happened today hit her as she curled up on her bed and let the tears flow as she realised that she actually broke up with Caleb. As for Caleb, he was of course in the Vanders home using the Bathroom. Once he was done his business, he washed his hands and headed for his room only to run into Aldern, who wasn't happy to see him.

"Well?", Caleb asked.

"Well, what?", Aldern questioned.

"How about apologizing for attacking me.", Caleb said. "Your best friend!"

"After what you did today, as well how you've been acting for the last few weeks, you deserve what I did today!", Aldern said.

"Is that so?", Caleb questioned.

"Honestly, yes.", Aldern said. "What if Elyon wasn't there today to heal Cassidy, Will, and Cornelia? Cassidy could have been seriously hurt or worse!"

"But she wasn't!", Caleb said. "I mean I know that you like her and all, but you didn't have to fly off at the handle like that."

"You're one to talk."

Caleb and Aldern looked to see Cassidy walking up to them.

"And what does that suppose to mean?", Caleb asked.

"Really?", Cassidy asked. "How about how you flipped out and strucked Cornelia today. Followed by you knocking me and Will off of you when we tried to hold back from her."

"She was..."

"Having a sparring match with Will.", Aldern said. "One that Will wanted."

"But of course you thought that Cornelia was attacking Will and we were just letting it happen.", Cassidy said. "And it's that kind of attitude that drove Will to break up with you. You brought this on yourself, Caleb. You can go and blame Cornelia, or one of us "Wannabe Guardians" all you want. But in the end, it was your actions and comments that lost you Will. If you want any chance at getting back with her, then I suggest that you make a big change. And I mean a BIG change.", she said with a stern look.

Not liking what Cassidy had to say, Caleb headed for his room. As for Cassidy, she turned to Aldern as her stern look softened. She then grabbed his hand and walked him into his room and closed the door to give them some privacy.

"So... You like me, huh?", Cassidy asked with a smile as she looked at a nervous Aldern.

"Well... I... That is...", Aldern said.

"Aldern stop and take a deep breath and then talk.", Cassidy said trying to calm him down.

Doing what Cassidy said, Aldern took a deep breath and exhaled. He then looked at Cassidy and said what he needed to say to her.

"I... like you, Cassidy. A lot.", Aldern said as his cheeks heated up a bit. "I just didn't know how to tell you. That and you don't see many humans women being with the men of my race, on my world. The same isn't said when it comes to human men being with the women of my race."

"Well, Mr. Aldren, I'm not your typical human gal.", Cassidy said as he walked up to Aldern with a sly smile. "As a matter of fact, I happen to have feelings for you as well."

"R-R-Really?", Aldern questioned with a small smile that grew slowly.

"Uh-huh.", Cassidy said as they were up close and personal. "But if we're going to have our first kiss, I'd like it to be with the real you.", she said as she grabbed his right hand and took the glamour ring off his finger, and tossed it onto the night stand near his bed, removing the glamour around him to show his true Galhot form. "There. Much better.", she said as they were looking each other in the eyes smiling before they shared their first kiss.

They then looked at each other to see that they were both blushing. Only in Aldern's case, he was turning a darker shaded of green to which Cassidy could help but giggle at making Aldern smile some more before they shared another kiss that ended with them falling on Aldern's bed with Cassidy laying on top of Aldern. They smiled at each other again before...

"Woo!", Cassidy giggled as Aldern turned then so that they were laying on their sides.

They then continued to kiss enjoying the moment together. Now outside the room, Elyon and Drake were listening in on what had just happened between Cassidy and Aldern and were happy for the both of them.

"About time.", Elyon said as she and Drake stopped listening in on them. "I thought that they would never get together."

"All it took was some time.", Drkae said with a smile feeling happy for his friend. "That's all somethings take."

"Yeah.", Elyon said with a smile while wondering what to do about her feelings for Drake.

"Ummmm... Your Majes- I mean, Elyon?"

"Yes, Drake?"

"Would you like to... go out sometime?", Drake asked as a slight blush grew on his face.

"Yes!", Elyon said before she contained herself with a slight blush of her own. "I mean, yes. I would love to go out with you sometime."

"How about this Saturday?", Drake asked. "You can pick the place."

"Sounds great.", Elyon said with a smile that Drake returned. "This Saturday then."

"Yes.", Drake said. "This Saturday.", he said as they came up to Elyon's room. "Have a good evening."

"You, too.", Elyon said before going into her room and closing the door.

Drake then headed for his room and closed the door. He then fell back on his bed and breathed a sigh of relief glad to of gotten through that without any problems.

"Now I have to get ready for this Saturday.", Drake said as he stared up at the ceiling.

As for Elyon, she was leaning against her door with a smile on her face replaying what just happened in her head as she smile grew.

"YES!", Elyon cheered as she jumped in the air and onto her bed. "I so have to call Alchemy and Cornelia!", she said as she pulled out her cell phone and called her two best friends to tell them what happened.

As for Irma, she was now home sitting on the bed in her room thinking about what had happened between her and Matt when a thought came to her.

"Get with Caleb, huh?", she questioned herself as a smile grew on her face. "Okay, Matt. If that's what you want, then that's what you'll get. And when all is said and done, you'll be begging for me to take you back and Will will be begging Caleb to take her back.", she said as he smile turned into a smirk as she began to plan out her little scheme.

A/N: Well it looks like Will dumped Caleb and Matt dumped Irma. But in the same day, Micheal and Cornelia became a couple as well as Aldern and Cassidy. And Drake has asked Elyon out on a date. So some good came out of this. But now Irma is cooking up a plan for her and Caleb to get back with those that dumped them. Can she pull it off? Only time will tell. But right now our young heroes have a mission to complete. Can they work together to pull it off? Find out in the next chapter.
