Chapter 37:
The next day, the girls got together and headed for the mall to get what they needed to make their costumes. Also with them was Lillian who Hay Lin asked Cornelia to bring along.
"So why are we here again, Hay Lin?", Will asked her friend as they stood in a store that sold swimsuits and other things for the beach.
"We need to get swimsuits for our Sailor Scouts costumes.", Hay Lin explained. "We each need to get a white one-piece swimsuit that isn't strapless. Make sure it's something that feels comfortable seeing as we'll be wearing these costumes for most of the night."
"Me too!?", Lillian asked getting excited.
"Yeah, squirt. You too.", Cornelia said as she ruffled her sister's hair.
"Cool!", Lillian said.
"Let's get some swimsuits, girls!", Alchemy said as they headed further into the store.
It took them a while, but they got the swimsuits they needed for their costumes. Well... almost all of them.
"What is that, Irma?", Hay Lin asked her best friend once she saw what she had while the others were paying for their swimsuits.
"My swimsuit.", Irma said as she held it up for Hay Lin to see. "It's white and everything."
"But it's strapless.", Hay Lin said.
"So what?", Irma questioned. "What's wrong with it being strapless?"
"How am I going to sew the collar of the outfit onto the swimsuit?", Hay Lin questioned.
"I'm sure that you'll think of something, Hay-Hay.", Irma said. "You always do."
"Irma. I asked that you get a swimsuit like the others so it'll be easier to make the costumes.", Hay Lin explained. "I can't just take any extra time out to make yours because you decided to get something different from the others."
"Well, this is what I'm getting.", Irma said as she walked past Hay Lin.
"Then you'll have to work on your own costume.", Hay Lin which stopped Irma in her tracks.
"You don't mean that.", Irma said to Hay Lin as she turned to see that Hay Lin had her back turned to her.
"Yes. I do.", Hay Lin said. "I have way to much work to do to take time out to find a way to make your costume with that swimsuit. So you can either go get one like the rest of us, or you'll be working on your own costume alone. You may be my best friend, but that doesn't mean you get to take advantage of me when you feel like it."
Mumbling to herself, Irma went to return the swimsuit she got and got one like the others.
"Happy?", Irma asked as she went to pay for the swimsuit.
"Yes.", Hay Lin said with a smile as she paid for her swimsuit.
"Way to go, Hay Lin.", Cassidy said to the Air Guardian who smiled with some pride.
"So what's next, Hay Lin?", Taranee asked.
"Now we go get the wigs some of you need.", Hay Lin said as they headed for the hair care store.
It didn't take Hay Lin long to get the wigs that they needed along with the extensions Irma was going to need. Next they headed for a dress store to get the satin gloves they would need followed by the shoe store to get the shoes and boots they would need.
"Well that's everything.", Hay Lin said as they left the mall to catch the bus.
"But what about the tiaras?", Lillian asked.
"Don't worry, Lillian.", Elyon said. "Once we get our head sizes, I can have a friend make them."
"Okay.", Lillian said happy with what Elyon said.
"A friend?", Alchemy questioned.
"Aketon. Aldern's father.", Elyon said. "He's a great blacksmith. From what Drake tells me he's working on the breastplate for Caleb's costume. As well as something for Cassidy's costume for the carnival."
"Say what now?", Cassidy questioned with a raised eyebrow. "What costume?"
"Beats me.", Elyon said. "It's something Angelo has planned."
"Of course he does.", Cassidy said while rolling her eyes getting a laugh out of the girls.
Soon the girls were at the Vanders' home and working on bits and pieces of the costumes in the living room. And to do this, Hay Lin had everybody put their swimsuits on so she could see if she made the skirts and collars right.
"Well yours is just fine, Lillian.", Hay Lin said with a smile.
"Woo-Hoo!", Lillian said when Angelo, Drake, Aldern, Micheal, Eric, and Matt came into the living room getting the attention of the girls.
"I had a dream that started just like this.", Angelo said. "Only I was the only guy there and you weren't there either.", he said while looking down at Lillian. "Who are you?"
"That would be my little sister, Lillian.", Cornelia said.
"Hi, Micheal.", Lillian said as she waved to him.
"Hey, Lillian.", Micheal said as he waved back.
"What kind of dream did you have that involved my girlfriend?", Eric asked Angelo.
"The kind in which Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot" started playing and all the girls were getting down.", Angelo said.
"You have some interesting dreams.", Matt said.
"Every once in a while I do.", Angelo said.
"And did anything else happen in your dream, Mr. Vanders?", Will asked.
"Yes. But I'd rather keep that to myself.", Angelo said to which the girls rolled their eyes. "Hey! I can't control my dreams. Unless it's a lucid dream. Then all bets are off."
"Oh brother.", Will said while rolling her eyes.
"So what are you all doing anyway?", Micheal asked.
"Working on our costumes for Halloween.", Cornelia answered.
"Oh yeah.", Eric said. "You said you'd be doing that.", he said to Hay Lin.
"You know, I need to know who you two have decided to go as with us.", she said to her boyfriend and Matt.
"Well after watching the show on YouTube, I've decided to go with Tuxedo Mask.", Matt said. "I get to wear a top hat. Which is always cool with a tux."
"Very true.", Micheal said.
"So that means you'll be Moonlight Knight.", Hay Lin said as she smiled at Eric.
"Why do I have the feeling that you wanted this?", Eric questioned.
"I may have hoped for it.", Hay Lin said with a slight blush as she was working on a glove for one of the costumes.
"It looks like you have your work cut out for you.", Aldern said to Cassidy as he saw some of the girls working on their costumes.
"Well most of us can do some things while others can do other things.", Cassidy said as she slipped on the skirt that went with her costume. "Well this fits fine. Now I just have to work on the gloves."
"I wish I could help, but I know nothing about sewing.", Aldern said with a grin.
"That's okay.", Cassidy said with a smile. "But can you tell me what Angelo has your father working on for me?"
"Sorry, but Angelo won't say.", Aldern said. "It's suppose to be a surprise."
"A surprise, huh?", Cassidy questioned with a raised eyebrow. "I don't like to many surprises."
"Well I'm sure it'll be okay.", Aldern said. "I doubt Angelo would do anything to hurt you."
"Yeah. Yeah.", Cassidy said. "You have a point there. So who are you going as for Halloween?"
"Matt, Micheal, and Angelo came up with something for me and Drake.", Aldern said. "And from what they tell me, I won't need a glamour."
"Now that's something to look forward to.", Cassidy said smiling.
"It would be nice to walk around as myself.", Aldern said. "So to speak."
"How long do we have to wear our swimsuits, Hay Lin?", Irma asked.
"Not long. I just have to see if the skirts and collars fit.", Hay Lin said. "Why?"
"Because I don't feel like having someone seeing me in a swimsuit.", Irma replied while looking over at Matt with a glare.
"Yeah right.", Elyon whispered to Cornelia who giggled.
"Then let's see if your skirt and collar fit right.", Hay Lin said as she walked up to Irma with the skirt and collar for her costume.
Soon, the girls were able to make sure if the skirts and collars for their costumes fit and were able to change back into their normal clothes and head for home. As for everybody else, they had dinner and kicked back or did any homework they had to do. Except for Matt and Selece who went for a walk in the park together for their date.
"Thanks for the hot dog.", Selece said to Matt as they walked away from the hot dog stand with their hot dogs. "I haven't had one of these in a long time.", she said as she finished her hot dog.
"I love the hot dogs from that stand.", Matt said before finishing his hot dog. "I wonder if they'll be at the carnival?"
"No idea.", Selece said. "But I can find out."
"Thanks.", Matt said. "You know, I still can't believe you and Hay Lin were able to talk Knickerbocker into having a cosplay carnival.", he said with a grin.
"You know, Elyon said the same thing.", Selece replied with a grin. "I have to admit that it's a lot of work. But in the long run, it'll be worth it if it goes well."
"Don't worry. It will.", Matt said as he held Selece's hand.
"But what if there's an emergency?", Selece questioned.
"We'll think of something.", Matt said. "Don't worry, Selece, everything will be okay."
"I hope so.", Selece said.
"I know so.", Matt said with a smile that Selece returned as they walked through the park together.
Back at the Vanders' home, John has just came home and was now in the dining room going over some blueprints for something he had came up with to help Angelo and the others.
"What is that?", Angelo asked as he and Elyon came into the dining room.
"It's something that may be of use to you kids when you fight anymore robots.", John said as he was looking over the blueprints.
"What is it?", Elyon asked.
"An E.M.P. gun.", John said. "If it works right, it'll fire a electro magnetic pulse at some robots and shut them down."
"That's great!", Elyon said with a smile that soon turned into a frown. "There's a "but" in there. Isn't there?"
"But.", John said with a sigh. "It'll only be able to fire ten normal shots or three charged shots."
"Ten regular shots isn't so bad.", Angelo said to which Elyon nodded in agreement.
"True, but after that you got nothing left.", John explained. "I can't make clips that can hold extra energy for them."
"What if the ones with the guns were able to charge them themselves?", Elyon asked.
"That's right!", Angelo said. "Some of us have the power to do that!"
"Hmmmmm... That can work.", John said. "I can add a spot where those of you can place your hands on and charge the guns. But I can only make enough for those of you who can use energy. So how many are there?"
"Let's see. There's me, Angelo, Will, and Matt.", Elyon said remembering who had energy powers.
"So four guns.", John said as he wrote the number down on the blueprints. "I just need to get the parts for these babies and you'll be good to go. This may take a while. Not to mention I have to see if I can actually make the guns. Give me a few days before you go and tell the others."
"Take your time.", Angelo said. "Like you always tell me; no need to rush and fail when you can take your time and do right."
"And here I thought you hardly listen to me.", John said with a smirk.
"I have my moments.", Angelo said with a cheesy grin.
"Oh boy.", John said. "What am I going to do with you, boy?"
"Love me like you always do.", Angelo said getting a laugh out of his uncle.
Seeing this made Elyon miss her adoptive parents but she knew they were doing their duty to Meridian and protecting the people. So she knew that she had to be ready when the time called for her to be there as well. But for now, she was going to enjoy her time with her friends on Earth and live a normal life as best she could. Yet be ready to go and defend her people when the need arrived. Now let's fast forward a few days later. It's Thursday and we have our heroes at the Vanders' house once again working on costumes for the Halloween Festival. Well they were working on them but now they're working on their homework before Angelo and Elyon got the okay to tell the others about the E.M.P. guns. Some of them were happy for the good news while others weren't so happy. Mainly two of them.
"So it'll be just you four getting guns?", Caleb questioned.
"Yes.", Angelo said.
"And why only you four?", Irma questioned. "What about the rest of us!?"
"If you'd let us explain, you understand why.", Elyon said. "The reason that only Will, Agelo, Matt, and myself will be getting the guns is because of our powers."
"Your powers?", Irma questioned.
"Each of the blasters will have a part that will allow the four us to give the blasters a quick recharge.", Angelo explained. "Uncle John can't make a energy clip for the blasters."
"Okay then. So why don't you four just charge our blasters when we run out?", Irma asked.
"It is the most logical plan.", Caleb said.
"Not a good idea.", Alchemy said.
"And why not?", Caleb questioned.
"For one, the robots are remote controled.", Taranee said.
"How can you tell?", Irma asked.
"Each of the robots we taken down had an antenna on them.", Matt said.
"Which means that the one controlling them goes to Meridian with them.", Will said. "And that they have some kind of device that controls them."
"It has to be a powerful radio controller.", Selece figured. "One where the one controlling the robots can be far away without being seen."
"Which means that the one controlling the robots can see through the eyes of the robots by means of a camera.", Micheal added.
"What does that have to do with us not having more guns for the rest of us to use?", Caleb questioned.
"If the one controlling the robots can see through the eyes of the robots, one of them will eventually see Will, Elyon, Angelo, or Matt charging one of your blasters.", Micheal began to explain. "And if they see that, they'll have the robots go after them."
"Thus taking the power source of the blasters down.", Aldern said getting a nod from Micheal.
"Which is why only Elyon, Matt, Angelo, and I get blasters.", Will said.
"Yes.", Elyon said.
"Uncle John will put the charge panel somewhere the robots can't see.", Angelo explained. "But we'll have to be careful not to overload the guns or else they'll blow up."
"We'll keep that in mind.", Matt said.
But what none of them knew was that Hollens and Riddle were listening in on them through their mind-control minions, Irma and Caleb.
"So they'll be having a way of fighting our robots better?", Riddle questioned. "Well thanks to our unknowing spies, we can fix that problem."
"Let's not.", Hollens said.
"But why?", Riddle questioned.
"If we do protect the robots from an E.M.P. attack, they may suspect that we're onto them.", Hollens said. "And we do not want that."
"Point made.", Riddle said. "But we can put each type of robot on a different frequency to protect them from E.M.P. attacks. That way our little heroes will have to adjust their little blasters for each type of robot."
"Now that I can work with.", Hollens said. "I'll have the workers get on that in the morning. But for now, I need my rest. Spying on our enemies is tiring."
"Couldn't agree more.", Riddle said. "Telepathy can be tiring if used to long at our age.", Riddle said as he headed for his quarters.
"Soon, Guardians. Soon you shall taste utter defeat.", Hollens said as he walked into his quarters. "And I shall get the revenges that is due me.", he said as he went into his bedroom and laid on his bed for some sleep.
Soon it was Saturday and Angelo was at the Robertsons home to take Selece out for the day. He was dressed in a pair of green swim trunks and a blue tank-top with brown sandals with a black gym bag hanging off his shoulders.
"And here we go.", Angelo said as he knocked on the door of the Robertson's home.
Soon Angelo heard footsteps coming to the door. Soon the door opened to show Selece standing there wearing a black mini-skirt with a yellow tank-top and white sandals and a white beach bag hanging off her shoulders.
"Hey!", Selece said with a smile.
"Hey.", Angelo said returning the smile. "You ready to go?"
"You bet!", Selece said as she walked out of the house. "Mom! Dad! I'm heading out with, Angelo!"
"Have fun, Dear!", Hanna said.
"You both be careful out there!", Donald said.
"We will!", Angelo and Selece said before Selece closed the door to her home.
"Let's go!", Selece said as she pulled Angelo along.
"Okay. Okay.", Angelo said with a grin as they made their way to the bus stop to catch the city bus. "I take it that you've been looking forward to this, huh?"
"Well we haven't had much time to ourselves.", Selece said as they walked down to the sidewalk.
"Well we've been a bit busy with costume making and planning things for the school carnival.", Angelo said. "It does take up a lot of our time."
"I know.", Selece said. "That's why I plan on enjoying our day together.", she said with a smile.
"Funny you should mention that.", Angelo said as he grabbed Selece's hand.
"What's wrong, Angelo?", Selece asked before he teleported them to the beach.
Seconds later, they were in the cave at Shell Beach.
"Okay.", said a surprised Selece. "Someone is in a hurry.", she said with a grin.
Angelo then took out his fold crystal and opened a fold.
"What are you...!?"
"Come on.", Angelo said as he pulled Selece through the fold with him.
"Wait a minute!", Selece shouted a she was pulled through the fold.
Once through the fold, Selece saw that she was on a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters and lovely white sand. She saw that there were people running around having fun.
"Where the heck are we!?, Selece questioned as she dropped her gym bag.
"Florana.", Angelo said.
Ten Minutes Later...
"So let me get this straight.", Selece said as she stood in the same room Angelo got for him and Will. "Two days here is equal to about twenty-four hours on Earth?"
"Pretty much.", Angelo said.
"And you can get a room at this resort because you're a knight in this kingdom?",
"Yes."
"Wow!", Selece said. "I'm impressed.", she said as she stripped out of her tank-top and mini-skirt revealing a yellow bikini. "What do you think", she asked as she spun around giving Angelo a good veiw of herself.
"You look great.", Angelo said. "You ready for some fun in the Sun?"
"Totally!", Selece said as she grabbed her beach bag. "Let's go!"
And so Angelo and Selece began their day of fun on one of the Florana's beaches. From swimming in the water to walking around the beach together enjoying the sites there. Angelo and Selece were having a great time together. She even enjoyed the dinner she and Angelo had in the evening. Now she did feel a bit weird sharing a room with Angelo. But at least they had separate beds. The next day, they had breakfast and walked around the town for a while before hitting the beach for some more fun. Soon it was time to get something to eat to which Angelo took Selece to the same cafe he took Will.
"This drink is good!", Selece said after drinking some of her fruit drink.
"I know.", Angelo said with a smile that Selece returned. "This is one of their best drinks."
"I can tell.", Selece said. "Thanks for bringing me here, Angelo."
"Don't mention it.", Angelo said. "To be honest, I didn't think you wanted to come here."
"Well I'll admit that I was a bit confused when you brought me here, at first.", Selece said. "But now I've gotten use to the place. I wouldn't mind coming back here, but..."
"But!?", Angelo questioned.
"I feel kind of bad spending this much time with you than I need to.", Selece said with a sad smile.
"You think you're getting more time with me than Will.", Angelo said getting a nod from Selece. "Is that a bad thing?"
"I don't know.", Selece said. "I just feel that Will would enjoy this place too."
"Well you're right.", Angelo said. "I brought her already."
"What!?", Selece questioned in surprise. "You brought Will here before me!?"
"Well... Yeah.", Angelo said to which Selece pouted as she folded her arms feeling upset. "Don't be mad, Selece. I brought Will here first because of what happened between her and Caleb. She needed the space from the guy. I didn't mean to hurt you."
"I know.", Selece said with a sigh. "You were being a good friend to Will.", she said as she looked at Angelo. "So did you have more fun with her than with me.", she asked in an innocent voice getting a laugh out of Angelo.
"Honestly... I'm having just as much fun with you as I did with her.", Angelo said. "You both are great to be with.", he said to which Selece let out a sigh. "Oh come on now. I know that you have just as much a great time with Matt just as you do with me."
"Yeah. You're right.", Selece said. "I do."
"So do you like him?", Angelo asked.
"Yeah. I do.", Selece said.
"Do you like him enough to be with him?", Angelo asked.
"I... Don't know." Selece said. "I'm torn between Matt and you."
"And I'm torn between you and Will.", Angelo said. "Love is funny, huh?"
"Yeah.", Selece said with a grin. "Maybe we should cut this date short."
"Yeah.", Angelo said. "We have a lot to think about."
"Yeah.", Selece said with a grin before Angelo called for the check.
An hour later, Angelo and Selece were back on Earth. Angelo teleported Selece back to her home and they said their goodnights. As Angelo headed home, Selece headed inside her home and headed up to her room and got ready for bed. She then got in bed and slowly fell asleep thinking about her feelings for Angelo and Matt and who she wanted to be with as she slowly went to sleep. As for Angelo, he was now home and in his bed thinking about his feelings for Selece and Will as he fell asleep. Time passed and it was soon Halloween and everyone was excited about the festival and who was going to be dressing as what. As for our young heroes, they were ready for the festival seeing as they got their costumes ready for it. There was only one problem they had to solve.
Who was going to take Lillian and Chris Trick-Or-Treating.
"Why don't you two do it seeing as you're their older sisters.", Micheal said to Cornelia and Irma.
"Only one of us has to do it.", Irma said. "So have fun, Corny!"
"Not in the heels that go with my costume!", Cornelia said. "Walking around the festival is one thing. But to do that after taking Lillian and Chris Trick-Or-Treating, will be aching my feet."
"Excuses, excuses.", Caleb said. "It's just sad."
"Actually, Cornelia is right.", Hay Lin said. "Walking around in heels to long can be murder on a girl's feet."
"And the boot Irma wears don't have high heels.", Taranee said.
"Come on, guys!", Irma whined. "I did this last year! And the year before that"
"And I though you didn't mind doing it anymore.", Will said. "You did say that."
"Yeah well... Things are different now.", Irma said.
"Could it be because Andrew Hornby isn't single anymore?", Cornelia questioned with a smirk.
"I have no idea what you're talking about.", Irma said with a slight blush to which the other girls giggled. "Anyway, I'm still not taking Lillian and the runt Trick-Or-Treating. And that's final!"
"Oh brother.", Micheal said while rolling his eyes.
"I'll do it.", Angelo said.
"You will?", Cornelia questioned. "Why?"
"Well for one, when Chris learned that we would be making our own costumes, he asked me and Hay Lin if we could make him one too.", Angelo explained.
"And we made him one that he'll love!", Hay Lin said with a beaming smile. "This will give him an excuse to be his hyper little self.", she said with a playful smirk.
"Plus, what he'll be going as will go well with who I'm going as.", Angelo said.
"What about Lillian?", Alchemy questioned. "Don't you think she'll feel a bit out of place with you two seeing as she's going as Mini Moon?"
"Good point.", Cornelia said. "I guess I'll go with you then.", Cornelia said to Angelo.
"Or I can do it.", Selece said. "I mean when it comes to Mini Moon, Sailor Pluto is one of the Sailor Scouts she hangs around with most."
"You don't have to do that, you know.", Cornelia said to Selece.
"I know.", Selece said. "But this will give me a chance to talk to Angelo about a few things. If you know what I mean.", she whispered to Cornelia.
"Oh. I see.", Cornelia said understanding what Selece meant. "Well my feet and I thank you."
"You're welcome.", Selece said with a smile that Cornelia returned.
"Well it's almost time for Trick-Or Treating.", Hay Lin said. "You two might as well get ready.", she said to Angelo and Selece.
"I'll call my parents and have them bring Lillian here.", Cornelia said.
"I'll do the same with my parents.", Irma said as both girls took out their cell phones and called their homes.
It didn't take the Lairs long to bring Chris to the Vanders' home. Fifteen minutes later, the Hales brought an excited Lillian there. Both Cornelia and Irma explained who would be taking their younger siblings Trick-Or-Treating. Their parents were okay with it seeing as Cornelia and Irma trusted them. All four parents said their goodbyes and left to get some rest before the festival. As for Lillian and Chris, Hay Lin and Cornelia took Lillian into another room to get changed into her costume while Micheal took Chris into another room to get changed into his costume. As for Angelo and Selece, they each took a shower freshen up a bit before they put their costumes one. Angelo in his bedroom and Selece in Cassidy's room. Once dressed they came out of the rooms and got a good look at each other.
"Wow! I did not see this coming!", Selece said as she looked Angelo up and down. "Looking good!"
"So do you.", Angelo said to Selece as he looked her up and down. "Bows and all!", he joked getting a laugh out of Selece as they headed downstairs.
Once downstairs, everyone saw what Angelo was wearing. Which didn't surprise those who knew he was going as.
"Why am I not surprised?", Will questioned.
"Cool, huh?", Angelo asked with a smile.
"Awesome!", Alchemy said.
"Thank you.", Angelo said as Hay Lin and Cornelia came out with Lillian and Micheal came out with Chris.
"Oh Dear Lord!", Irma said as she rolled her eyes. "There'll be no living with him now!", she said as she looked at what her little brother was wearing.
"Not bad, Chris.", Angelo said to Chris. "Or should I say Kid Flash."
There Chris was dressed as Kid Flash from the Young Justice cartoon. From the yellow boots to the goggles.
"This is so cool!", Chris shouted with excitement before he looked at Angelo. "Whoa! You're Static!"
There Angelo was dressed a Static from Season One of the Static Shock cartoon.
"I got to admit it looks pretty cool.", Hay Lin said. "But I would have went with the final season outfit."
"I'm saving that for the carnival.", Angelo said with a wink. "So you ready to go, Kid Flash?!"
"You bet, Static!", Chris said as he grabbed his Halloween pail that had the Flash's symbol around it along with a red pillow case.
"Shall we Sailor Mini Moon?", Selece asked Lillian.
"Let us take our leave, Sailor Pluto.", Lillian said as she grabbed her Halloween pail that had Sailor Mini Moon on it along with a pink pillow case.
"Hold it!", Elyon said stopping them from leaving. "I almost forgot.", she said as she opened a box and took out two gold tiaras for Selece and Lillian. "My friend finally finished them. Here you go.", she said as she handed the girls their tiaras.
"Cool!", Lillian said as she put her tiara on. "Now I really look really look like Mini Moon! Thanks, Elyon!", she said as she hugged her.
"Yeah!", Selece said as she put her tiara on. "This completes the whole costume."
"No problem.", Elyon said. "Now you can go have fun."
"Wait a sec.", Angelo said as he went to the hallway closet. "Almost forgot about these.", he said as he took some things out of the closet. "This is for you, Lillian."
"Cool! Mini Moon's Bell!", Lillian said as she took the bell in question. "Thanks, Angelo!"
"Don't just thank me.", Angelo said. "Micheal, Drake, and Aldern helped carve these things as well. Painting them and adding the plastic gems was the easy part."
"It took a while, but we got it done.", Micheal said.
"Thanks!", Lillian said as she rang the bell.
"Next we have Sailor Moon's wand for Elyon.", Micheal said as he gave Elyon said item. "It, like the most of the bell, is made of wood."
"Thanks.", Elyon said as she held the wand.
"For you, Will, Sailor Uranus' Space Sword.", Angelo said as he handed Will her item.
"A sword, huh?", Will questioned as she unsheathed the sword to see the blade was plastic and dull. "Nice."
"For you, Cassidy, Sailor Neptune's Deep Aqua Mirror.", Angelo said as he handed Cassidy her item.
"Kicking butt while making sure I look good.", Cassidy joked as she looked at her reflection in the mirror. "What else can a female superhero ask for?"
"This is for you, Taranee.", Micheal said as he handed the Fire Guardian what looked like a Nintendo DS.
"What's this for?", Taranee asked as she opened it only to see that nothing was in there. "What's with the empty space?"
"You know how, Sailor Mercury has a mini-computer?", Hay Lin asked Taranee who nodded. "Well you can put your iPhone in the empty space and ta-da! Mini-computer!"
"Okay then.", Taranee said as she took her iPhone and placed it in the case. "This can be fun to have."
"For you, Alchemy, Sailor Saturn's Silence Glaive.", Angelo said as he handed Alchemy said item. "The blade is plastic while the rest is wood.
"Sweet!", Alchemy said as she held the item.
"This is for you, Sis. Sailor Pluto's Time Staff.", Micheal said as he handed his sister her item.
"If only I could really control time with this.", Selece said as she held the staff. "The things I could do."
"As for Eric and Caleb, we have a wooden version of the Midnight Night's sword and Prince Darien's sword.", Micheal said as he laid both items on the coffee table.
"Why can't I take a real sword?", Caleb complained.
"It's the rules of the festival.", Elyon said. "No real weapons. Only wooden, plastic, rubber, or foam versions of them."
"And with that, let's move out!", Angelo said as the four of them left the house.
"Candy! Candy! Candy! Candy!", Lillian and Chris cheered as they left with Angelo and Selece.
"Well their excited.", Will said with a grin.
"Tell me about it.", Cornelia said. "Now we can relax before the festival."
"No arguments here.", Cassidy said as she relaxed in the seat she was sitting in. "Could you imagine us being Sailr Scouts instead of Guardians?"
"Now that would be interesting!", Taranee said.
"Not to mention the outfits.", Alchemy said getting a laugh out of the girls.
"Oh brother.", Caleb said to himself as he rolled his eyes.
As the evening went by, Lillian and Chris were having a great time Trick-Or-Treating around the neighborhood and seeing their friends from school. As for Selece and Angelo, they were having a great time as well. But Selece came with Angelo so they could talk. So after taking a deep breath, Selece looked at Angelo and...
"We need to talk.", Selece said to Angelo.
"Sure thing.", Angelo said. "What's up?"
"Do you think there's a chance of us being together?", Selece asked as Chris and Lillian went up to a house with some other kids.
"You're asking me this now?", Angelo questioned.
"I know it's sudden and all but I need to know.", Selece said with a sad yet pleading look.
"To be honest, I have no idea, Selece.", Angelo said. "I mean, I can picture myself with you. But I can also picture myself with Will."
"I know how you feel.", Selece said with a grin. "I can see myself with you, yet I can also see myself with Matt. Talk about confusing."
"I'll say.", Angelo said as Lillian and Chris headed for another house. "I guess we just have to wait and see what happens."
"I guess so.", Selece said as they walked with Lillian and Chris to make sure they would be okay.
Back at the Vanders' home, the girls got changed into their costumes. Of course they had Caleb head to his room to get ready while and Micheal go into Angelo's room to get ready while the girls got ready in the living room where the curtains were closed. Once they were dressed, the girls made sure their costumes fit right along with the wigs for those who were wearing wigs with their costumes like Lillian was wearing. Once they were finished doing that, they waited for the guys to show up. Which they did about twenty minutes later. Matt was dressed as Tuxedo Mask, while Eric was dressed as Midnight Knight which made Hay Lin happy to see. Drake was dressed as Green Arrow with the hoodie. Of course his arrows were fake while his bow was real. Nigel was dressed as Nightwing with a black wig to cover his hair. And finally, Aldern walked in dressed as Martian Manhunter with the black outfit which covered all but his head which wasn't glamoured. Granted he had some make-up over his bone plates that were sticking out.
"Nice, Aldern!", Alchemy said.
"Thank you.", Aldern said before walking up to Cassidy. "So what do you think?"
"Oh, me likey!", Cassidy said with a smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Now we can walk in public together with no one freaking out."
"I know.", Aldern said with is own smile before they shared a kiss.
It was then that Micheal who was dressed a a Green Lantern and Caleb who was dressed as Prince Darian came walking down the stairs. Once Caleb saw Aldern, he was about to say something, when Micheal pulled him back.
"Relax.", Micheal said.
"But Aldern is..."
"I know.", Micheal said. "It part of his costume."
"What!?", Caleb questioned.
"The character he's going as has green skin.", Micheal explained. "This is a night where he can walk around as himself. So be happy for him and Cassidy. Okay?"
Caleb took a deep breath and nodded to Micheal who let him go. They both then headed out to the others.
"Nice costume.", Caleb said to Aldern.
"Thanks.", Aldern said to his best friend.
"You sort of scared me for a minute there, my friend.", Caleb whispered to Aldern.
"Sorry, but Matt surprised me with this idea for my costume.", Aldern explained. "Granted, I'm not complaining seeing as I can be with Cassidy without the glamour."
"Good point.", Caleb said.
"So while some of us are going to the festival as character from Sailor Moon, the rest of you will be going as...", Taranee began to say.
"DC Comics' finest!", Nigel finished.
"Well we better get going.", Will said as she checked her watch. "The festival has started already."
"Then let's move out!", Cassidy said as she was the first out the door with Aldern.
Hay Lin gave Eric his wooden sword for his costume and Caleb his wooden sword for his costume. She then left with Eric while Caleb left with Irma. Being the last to leave the house, Elyon locked the door behind her as she closed it and set the alarm before catching up with the others. They caught the city bus that was heading for the festival. Once at the festival, they saw people on all kinds of costumes. Some were store bought while others were just thrown together. But there were some that were made like they did theirs.
"Hey, guys!", Selece said as she, Angelo, Lillian, and Chris came walking up to them.
"Hey!", Hay Lin said happy to see them.
"So how good was your Trick-Or-Treatinjg?", Matt asked Chris and Lillian.
"Awesome!", Chris and Lillian said with beaming smiles.
"We each got half a pillow case full of candy!", Chris said.
"Where is it?", Irma asked.
"Mine is in Daddy's car.", Lillian said.
"And mine is in mom's van.", Chris said.
"We ran into their parents here and they let them put their candy in their cars.", Angelo explained.
"I'm hungry!", Lillian said as she felt her stomach as it growled.
"Then let get you something to eat.", Cornelia said as she held her little sister's hand. "I'm sure the food trucks have something you like."
"I'm hungry, too.", Chris said to Irma.
"Come on.", Irma said as she took her little brother's hand and headed for the food trucks.
"I could go for something to eat as well.", Angelo said.
"Same here.", Selece said.
"Then let us get our grub on.", Angelo said as he and Selece headed for the food trucks.
"Hey, Alchemy!"
Alchemy turned to see Stephen walking towards her dressed as Super Sayian Gohan from the Cell Games Saga of DBZ.
"Hey, Stephen!", said with a smile that Stephen returned. "Nice costume!"
"You, too!", Stephen said. "I was wondering if you wanted to... you know... hang out with me?"
"Sure!", Alchemy said as she grabbed Stephen's arm and walked off with him. "Later, guys!"
"Later!", Cornelia said happy for her friend.
As for her and the others, they headed into the festival and played some booth games and rode on the ride that were set up there. Once they all got something to eat, the others went to join their friends in the festival and were having a great time as well.
"Look at all these costumes!", Hay Lin said as she looked at all the people walking around the festival.
"Wonder if we'll do this good during the carnival.", Elyon said.
"I think we will.", Cassidy said when Martin came up to them with is iPad.
"Guys! Guess what!?", Martin asked.
"What's going on, Martin?", Selece asked.
"I set my Ipad to alert me when we get any replies out the Facebook site we set up for the carnival when ti comes to judges for the costume contest we got set up.", Martin said as he handed Angelo his iPad. "Look who replied!"
"No way!", Angelo said as he looked at the reply.
"What is it?", Hay Lin asked.
"We got a reply from Lala Wong!", Angelo said.
"WHAT?!", Hay Lin questioned in shock.
"She says that what we're doing is fantastic and that she would be happy to judge the costume contest!", Angelo read.
"WOO-HOO!", Hay Lin cheered as she jumped in the air. "I get to meet Lala!"
"She says that she'll be here a day or two before the carnival.", Angelo said.
"So do we get a hotel room ready for her?", Cassidy asked.
"Hotel nothing. With our budget, the best we can do is have her stay at our place.", Angelo said as he handed Martin his iPad back. "Thanks for letting us know about this, Martin.
"No problem.", Martin said before he went to join Courtney, Bess, and Uriah.
"By the way, Martin. Who are you dressed as?", Hay Lin asked.
"A Sage from Dragon Quest IX.", Martin answered. "Courtney is a Mage, Bess is a Priest, and Uriah is a Thief."
"Nice!", Angelo said as Martin walked off.
"I take it you've played the game.", Will said.
"Yeah.", Angelo said. "The outfits you can come up with in that game are something else."
"I like it when you get the royal clothes.", Hay Lin said. "You can have a character dressed as a prince or princess who kick butt!"
"I like the outfits for the Mage.", Elyon said. "Think we can make some of them for the carnival?"
"Don't see why not.", Hay Lin said. "The more costumes the better."
"And now it's time for the group costume contest!", came Knickerbocker's voice through the speakers that were set up around the festival grounds. "Please report to the stage to sing up."
"That's our que gang!", Taranee said to all those dressed a character from Sailor Moon.
'I'm on my way, guys!', Alchemy said to them telepathiclly.
"Good luck!", Angelo said as they headed towards the stage.
"This should be fun to watch.", Nigel said. "Wonder who's going to win?"
"No idea.", Drake said as he saw all those entering the contest. "But it looks like a lot of groups are entering the contest."
"How is the judging done?", Aldern asked.
"Whoever gets the most cheers wins.", Eric explained. "They have a device that measures the volume of the cheers each group gets."
"Then we better do some cheering for our friends.", Micheal said as they headed towards the stage.
It didn't take long for the groups to sing up. Once they did, they waited to be called up to the stage in the order they signed up in.
"Okay everybody, you know how this works.", Knickerbocker said through the microphone. "It's your cheers that determine the winner. First up, we have Power Rangers Ninja Storm!", she read off the paper.
Five people dressed as said Ranger came out onto the stage and got a good amount of cheers from the people there.
"Not bad.", Nigel said.
"And their poses are pretty good.", Angelo said as the cheering died down.
"Who's next?", Aldern questioned as the Ranger stepped off the stage.
"Next up, we have the X-Men!", Knickerbocker announced as said group came out getting cheers from the audience.
"Nice outfits.", Angelo said.
"Yeah!", Micheal said. "This is going to be one good contest."
"X-Men?", Drake questioned as the group walked off the stage.
"We'll explain it to you later.", Angelo said.
"Next we have a Thief, a Priest, a Mage, and a Sage from Dragoon Quest IX!", Knickerbocker announced as Uriah, Bess, Courtney, and Martin walked out onto the stage.
And much to their surprise, the four of them got some loud cheers.
"Looks like they picked the right costumes.", Nigel said.
"That's because the game is very popular.", Angelo said as the group walked off stage.
Soon, group after group came and got some good cheers that the audio measuring device measured well. Soon there were two groups left and Angelo and the guys knew which of them was.
"Next we have the cast of Sailor Moon!", Knickerbocker announced as the group walked out on stage.
"Finally!", Micheal said as the girls along with Matt, Eric, and Caleb walked out on stage.

Angelo, Micheal, Nigel, Drake, and Aldern cheered as loud as they could with the people there as their friends stood on stage.
"One can get use to this.", Alchemy said as she stood on stage with the others.
"Think we'll win?", Eric asked.
"Maybe.", Hay Lin said as she stood with Eric.
"Of course we'll win!", Irma said as she struck a pose. "Look at us! We're hot!"
"Somebody is sure of themselves.", Elyon said.
"And why should we be?", Irma said. "No one is dressed as us. We've got this in the bag."
It was then that they got the signal to leave the stage.
"And finally, we have the Z Fighters!", Knickerbocker announced as said group walked on stage getting some pretty loud cheers from the audience.
Among the group on the stage, was Stephen.
"Okay. Now I don't know who's going to win.", Micheal said as their group walked off the stage.
"Looks like we're about to find out.", Nigel said as Knickerbocker walked up to the microphone to announce the winners.
"After tallying the volume of your cheers, the winners of this years contest are..."
Sometime later...
"Third place?!", Irma complained as she held the small trophy she got like the others. "All that work and we got third place!?", she questioned as they rode the bus back to the bus stop that was near the Vanders' home.
"Third place isn't so bad.", Alchemy said.
"Yeah.", Eric agreed. "The Z Fighter group got enough cheers for second place while the Street Fighter group earned first place."
"I'll say.", Hay Lin agreed. "They did their costumes very well."
"How can you be okay with third place?", Irma questioned.
"Because I knew that there would be those that worked just as hard on their costumes as we did.", Hay Lin said. "Besides. The main thing is that we got word about our school's carnival out to the people."
"And the extra flyers we handed out helped, too.", Selece said.
"Well I'm not liking this whole cosplay thing.", Irma said.
"Just because you didn't win is no reason to give up, Irma.", Elyon said. "You win some, you lose some. It's the fun in making the costumes with friends and entering the contest that count."
"And I have just the costume for you to wear for the carnival.", Hay Lin said.
"It's not a dress is it?", Irma questioned.
"Yes.", Hay Lin said. "But it's a famous..."
"Pass!", Irma said as she held her hand up in protest. "I don't wear fancy dresses."
"We'll see.", Hay Lin said with a sly smile.
"Someone is up to something.", Will said as she saw the look on Hay Lin's face.
Soon everyone got to the Vanders' home where those who got changed there changed back into their normal clothes and those who had to head home headed home. Of course, Selece simply grabbed her clothes and was ready to go home. So Angelo offered to walk Selece home seeing as Micheal headed home after Cornelia's parents came and picked her and Lillian up along with the other girls' parents.
"The festival was fun.", Selece said as she and Angelo were walking towards her house.
"It was fun.", Angelo said. "And just think. We'll be doing the same thing in a few weeks. Only it'll be for three days and three nights."
"Oh joy!", Selece said with a fake grin. "Can't wait.", she said getting a laugh out of Angelo.
"You know, you could have changed back at my place.", Angelo said.
"I know.", Selece said. "But I just want to get home and get some sleep."
"I here you there.", Angelo said with a yawn.
"Plus, I look pretty dang good in this outfit!", Selece said with a smile. "I saw some guys staring at me."
"Oh brother.", Angelo said getting a laugh out of Selece.
"Well it's true.", Selece said.
"So you plan on wearing it again for the carnival?", Angelo asked.
"Yeah. Probably day two of the carnival.", Selece admitted. "Alchemy and I came up with some other costumes to wear for the other days and nights."
"Same here.", Angelo said.
"I do hope to see you in something nice.", Selece said. "But I have yo admit, this costume works for you."
"Why Selece Robertson. Are you flirting with me.", Angelo asked with a smirk as they arrived at her home.
"Maybe.", Selece said with an innocent smile. "I never got to kiss a superhero before.", she said with a smirk.
"We can fix that yo know.", Angelo said as he wrapped his arms around Selece's waist while she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Both teens looked into each other's eyes before they shared a kiss that soon turned into making out. As they were doing this, Angelo's hands roamed down to Selece's rear and squeezed it gently causing her to jump a bit yet it didn't stop her from making out with Angelo. But what they didn't know was that they were being watched.
"Well I guess that puts them out of our way.", Irma said as she and Caleb watched Angelo and Selece from a distance.
"Now we just wait for them to tell Will and Matt about them being together and we'll soon be back with them.", Caleb said.
"This was so worth sneaking out of the house.", Irma said as she stood there in a pair of boxer shorts and a sleeveless top. "Thanks for calling me."
"No problem.", Caleb said. "Now let's beat it before we're caught."
"Don't have to tell me twice.", Irma said. "Later, Rebel-Boy.", she said before teleporting back to her bedroom.
"Until tomorrow.", Caleb said with a smirk before heading back to the Vanders' home.
As for Angelo and Selece, as they were making out, a strange feeling began to hit them both. A feeling that was telling them this was was wrong. And slowly they ended their making out. They both just looked at each other knwing what the other was thinking at the moment.
"It didn't feel right.", Angelo said. "Did it?"
"No.", Selece said as she shook her head. "No matter how hard I tried to force it, it didn't feel right. The more I tried the more I saw that it should be Matt and me."
"And I saw that it should be me and Will.", Angelo said. "Funny, huh?"
"Yeah.", Selece said with a grin. "Guess we know what we have to do now."
"Guess so.", Angelo said with a small smile. "Selece. I'm..."
"I know.", Selece said with a sad smile. "I'm sorry, too. Friends?"
"Always.", Angelo said as they shared a hug. "See you tomorrow."
"Later.", Selece said with a smile before she walked up to the door of her house.
Once at the door, Selece turned to look at Angelo one last time. They both waved to each other before she went inside. As for Angelo, he headed back home knowing that he had to talk to Will tomorrow.
"What a night." he said as he headed home.
As for Selece, once up in her bedroom she changed into one of her nightgowns and laid her costume in her chair before getting into bed.
"What a night.", she said before falling asleep.
A/N: What a night indeed. But at least Angelo and Selece know who they want to be with. But can they confess their feelings before it's to late? Especially after Caleb and Irma saw them. Only time will tell.
