Chapter 42:
Two hours have passed and things were going great! The booths were making money and the food trucks were doing great as well. And everyone was having a great time. Those that came alone were making friends with others. Which was what Hay Lin and those that were getting into it were hoping for.
"This is so cool!", Hay Lin said happily as she watched all sorts of people becoming friends. "This is one of the reasons why I love cosplay!"
"The cool costumes.", Irma said a bit sarcacticly.
"Yes. But that's not what I'm talking about now.", Hay Lin said. "Look around, Irma. You see people that you wouldn't normally see getting along, getting along. From jocks to smart kids. From the popular to the shut-ins. Anyone can become friends through cosplay. Cosplay rocks!", she said before she noticed how Irma barely paid her any mind. "Speaking of friends, we need to talk."
"About what?", Irma asked.
"About how you tried to take credit for my work.", Hay Lin said getting serious.
"Aw come on, Hay Lin!", Irma said. "I already said that I was sorry about that. I just got caught up in the moment eith all the cheering."
"The others didn't.", Hay Lin said. "Alchemy gave me my props. Cornelia even brought me on stage to give me major props."
"Corny only did that so you all would like her more!", Irma said.
"Stop it!", Hay Lin said. "I'm so sick of how you and Caleb have been treating her. She's our friend and you two need to show her respect! You don't see Will acting like you and Caleb."
"She may trust her, like the rest of you, but Caleb and I don't.", Irma said. "She has a long way to go before I trust her."
"You and I both know the REAL reason why you're doing Cornelia like this.", Hay Lin said to Irma. "And it's wrong. I just hope that you come to your senses before it's to late.", Hay Lin said as she walked off leaving Irma alone.
'There is no REAL reason.', Irma thought to herself as she went to get something to eat from one of the food trucks. 'I don't trust her. And sooner or later, Corny will show her true colors.'
Soon it was Noon, and time for the the second costume contest. Only this one was a solo one. So after people gathered in the multi-pourpose room, Angelo came out on stage to greet everyone.
"Welcome folks to our second costume contest of the carnival!", he said getting cheers from everyone there. "This time, though, it's a solo thing. This gives everyone to have their time in the spotlight. We have the same people judging. So be sure to so some love for the costumes you like. It just may imspire the judges on who wins. Now let's give a welcome to our judges. Mr. Jones! Jim Robins! And Lala Wong!"
Everyone cheered as the three judges walked on stage. Mr. Jones was dressed as Jack Sparrow, Jim was dressed as M. Bison, and Lala was dressed as Tifa Lockheart from FF VII: Advent Children. They took their seats on the far left of the stage ready to judge the costumes.
"And now, let's do this thing!", Angelo said before walking off stage while Will and Selece walked up to the podium that was set up on the far right of the stage ready to announce who was coming out on stage.
Back stage, there were plenty of people in costumes ready to show off the costumes they had.
"Okay people, listen up!", Angelo said. "Once your name is called, you go out on stage, strike a pose, and go out on the other side of the stage. If you want to do a little something, make it short. The judges may have a question for you. If they do, answer it and then exuit the stage. We need this to go as smoothly as possible. But be sure to have some fun as well.", he said getting some laughs out of them all.
After a few minutes, the contest began with Will and Selece announcing who was coming out.
"First up, we have Alchemy Ethel as Princess Anna from Frozen.", Selece announced as Alchemy came out dressed as said character and did her pose which got some cheers, and left the stage.
"Next up is Elyon Brown as Queen Elsa from Frozen.", Will announced as Elyon came out on stage as Elsa in the ice blue dress and did her pose getting some cheers.
"Tell me how you did the cape of the dress.", Jim robins said.
"With a lot of help from my friend, Hay Lin.", Elyon said. "It took a while but we got it done."
"Impressive.", Lala said as Elyon walked off stage.
"Next up, we have one Mandy Andersoon as Donna Troy.", Will said as Mandy came out dressed Donna Troy in with black outfit and did a roundhouse kick, followed by a backflip and a fighting stance getting cheers from the people before leaving the stage. "Well that was impressive!"
"Next up we have..."
And that's how the contest went on. Things were running good. As for our other heroes that enter the contest, they all entered as who they were alreay dressed as. Well except for Will and Selece who were announcing who was coming out. And Angelo who was making sure the contestances were able to make it out on stage. And then there's Cassidy who had a whole different costume. And was about to go out on stage.
"And next we have Cassidy Chacon as Erza Scarlet in her Heaven's Wheel Armor.", Will announced. "Heaven's Wheel?", she asked Selece.
"You'll see.", Selece said with a smile.
Backstage, stood Cassidy in said costume.
"How did I let you talk me into this?", Cassidy asked Angelo.
"You look awesome!", Angelo said. "I'm just glad Aldarn's father got the metal part of the armor done."
"My father does great work.", Aldarn said as he walked up to them. "And you to look great.", he said to which Cassidy blush with a smile.
"Thanks.", Cassidy said with a smile. "Well... Here goes."
"Hold on a sec!", Martin said as he walked up to them. "Got to switch this on.", he said as he walked behind Cassidy.
Strapped behind Cassidy at her waist, yet hidden from view, was a small fan that began to run slowly. And attached to that fan was a large, light wheel made of foam with foam swords sticking out along the wheel that were made to look like the swords Erza used. Being carful, Cassidy walked out on stage. Once she did, she got some major cheers from the crowd as she struck her pose.
"Whoa!", Will said. "That's amazing!"
"Totally!", Selece said.
"Now how were you able to pull this off, Ms. Chacon?", Lala asked.
"Well Hay Lin and I worked on the dress while my boyfriend's father did the metal part of the outfit.", Cassidy explained. "My boyfriend, Aldarn, along with his friend Drake carved the swords out of foam. My friend, Angelo, colored the swords with paint. And he and my friends Martin and Taranee worked on the fan that makes the wheel behind me spin."
"Okay. I must say that this is by far one of the best costumes I've seen thus far.", Jim Robins said to which the crowd cheered in agreement as Cassidy left the stage..
Soon the other contestances did their thing leaving Mr. Jones, Jim Robins, and Lala Wong with some chocies to make.
"Okay, my friends.", Mr. Jones said as they began to debate. "Let's start with the one dressed as Elsa. I have to admit that the dress was nicely done."
"And that it was once again Hay Lin who had a hand in making the dress.", Jim said. "This girl has promise in making costumes."
"She sure does.", Lala said with a small smile. "I can tell that she puts a lot of work in her costumes. Even the costume she wore was done right."
"Indeed it was.", Mr. Jones said. "Now let's talk about the one dressed as Master Chief. Now that was done right!"
"I take it that you've played the games.", Lala said with a grin.
"Let's just say that I have a play planned out for it if the school allows it.", Mr. Jones said.
"If not, you can always go and do it in the town theatre.", Jim suggested.
"Good idea.", Mr. Jones said. "But for now let's go to who we think are our top three. I, for one, like the one dressed as Donna Troy. I believe her name is Mandy Anderson.", he said as he checked the name of who was dressed as Donna Troy on the list of contestance.
"Her costume was good.", Jim said. "It was simple yet worked for her."
"I like the Edward Elric outfit.", Lala said. "The arm and leg looked almost real."
"I'll have to agree with you there.", Mr. Jones said. "Makes me want to watch the show."
"You won't be disappointed.", Lala said.
About ten minute passed before they came to their decidsion and came back on stage.
"Okay guys and gals! It's time to announce the winners!", Lala said. "First let's start with the Judges' Picks.", she said before handing the microphone to Mr. Jones.
"My pick is for Andrew Hornby as Master Chief.", Mr. Jones said getting cheers from the people as Andrew came up and got his trophy and stood in the spot that Will and Selece told him to stand while Mr. Jones handed the mic to Jim Robins.
"My pick is for the Donna Troy costume done by Mandy Anderson.", Jim said as Mandy came on stage as the people cheered and recieved her trophy and stood next to Andrew as Jim handed the mic to Lala.
"And my pick is for Hay Lin as Trinity.", Lala said as the people cheered while Hay Lin happily ran on stage to receive her trophy from Lala. "You do great work.", she said getting a beaming smile from Hay Lin as she stood with Andrew and Mandy.
"And now it's time for our top three winners.", Jim said. "Third place will get $500, while second place will get $700. And first place will get $1000. And in third place we have Todd Henderson as Edward Elric.", he announced as Todd came up on stage to get his trophy and award money and stood with the three Judges' Picks getting sheeres from the people.
"In second place we have Elyon Brown as Queen Elsa.", Mr. Jones said getting cheers from the people while Elyon came on stage to get her award and prize money and stood with the other winners.
"And finally we have our first place winner, Cassidy Chacon as Erza Scarlet in her Heaven's Wheel Armor!", she announced getting cheers from the people as Cassidy walked out on stage and recieved her award and prize money and stood with the others that had won.
"And there you have it, folks!", Angelo said. "Your winners for the solo contest!", he said as the people gave the winners a standing ovation. "Now tomorrow will be the Original Concept Contest. Which means that those that are entering have come up with some intersting looks for who ever they're coming as. Plus, in this contest, contestances can enter alone or in groups of two or more. So be ready for some interesting costumes. And as a bonus, there will be a top FIVE winners!", he announced getting cheers from the people. "But for now, go and have fun at the carnival. And don't you adults forget about the dance tonight. For it's for you all and you all only. Peace!"
"I can't believe that I won!", Cassidy said as she walked off stage with the others.
"Are you kidding!?", Lala qurstioned. "Your costume was the best one today."
"That and the fact that you took a big risk with the wheel.", Jim added. "It really made it pop!"
"Well I had a lot of help.", Cassidy said.
"That's the fun of cosplay.", Lala said. "Making the costume on you own is great. But if you have some great friends helping you, it makes it more fun."
"That's what I think, too!", Hay Lin said getting a smile from Lala.
"Hay Lin. You have great promise with your craft.", Lala said. "I see you doing great things in the costume business. And I'd like to mentor you when you are older and graduate high school."
"Really!?", Hay Lin questioned getting excited as she got a nod from Lala. "Oh wow! This is so cool!", she said with a smile. "But I do want to go to college."
"Good.", Lala said. "Education is important. We can keep in touch through e-mails and Skype."
"I'd like that.", Hay Lin said still smiling.
"But until you leave for college, how would you like a job at my costume shop?", Jim Robins offered. "You'll get fair pay and good hours. Plus, the experiance will be good for you."
"Would I!? You bet!", Hay Lin said. "But I better run it by my parents first."
"Okay.", Jim said. "Take all the time you need. No need to rush."
"Thanks!", Hay Lin said before the Judges walked off to enjoy the carnival.
"Wow!", Angelo said. "Things are looking up for you.", he said to Hay Lin.
"Yeah!", Hay Lin said with a smile. "I just hope my parents let me work at the costume shop."
"I'm sure they will.", Eric said. "You'll be getting a great paying job and everything."
"Speaking of getting paid, some of this prize money is for you.", Cassidy said holding up the envalope that held the check she won.
"Same here.", Elyon said doing the same thing.
"You guys don't have to do that.", Hay Lin said.
"We insist.", Elyon said. "You helped make these costume so you deserve your fair share."
"I agree.", Cassidy said. "So do you, Taranee, Angelo, Drake, and Martin when it comes to my costume.", she said to Aldarn. "And seeing as your father isn't here, I'll give you his share."
"If you insist.", Aldarn said.
"Well you can split my share between Hay Lin, Taranee, Drake, and Martin.", Angelo said. "I have enough cash."
"Okay then.", Cassidy said. "I just have to cash my check and go from there. But until then, it stays with me."
"Same here.", Elyon said as both girls put their checks away. "And now I shall go back to being Princess Ashe."
"And I shall return to being Scarlet.", Cassidy said as she and Elyon went to go change their costumes while the others went to go check on things with the carnival..
As for Irma, she was still sulking about now winning the anything in the contest.
'There's only one contest left and I got nothing!', Irma thought to herself. 'How can I win anything when I don't have an costume.', she thougth just as Hay Lin came up to her.
"Hey Irma! I have a great costume for you!", the Air Guardian said toher best friend. "That is IF you're willing to wear it."
"You bet!", Irma said thinking that she had a chance at winning.
"Great!", Hay Lin said. "You're going to love it! Just be ready tomorrow!", she said before running off to catch up with Eric.
"Oh, I'll be ready alright.", Irma said. "Now I just have to talk her into letting me keep the prize money if I make it into the top five. That shouldn't be to hard.", she said with a smirk as she went to have some fun at the carnival.
About an hour later, everyone gathered together to have a thing of lunch. So after getting what they wanted from the foos trucks, they sat at the tables that were set up for people to eat so they could talk about what some were going to wear for the final contest the next day.
"So what have you come up with this time, Ms. Lin?", Cornelia asked with a smirk. "Cause I know that mind of yours has come up with some interesting ideas."
"You'd be correct, Ms. hale.", Hay Lin said as she pulled out her sketch book and opened it up. "Only I had some help from Angelo, Selece, and Elyon."
"Then I know that we're in for a treat.", Will said with a grin.
"We had way to much fun on this.", Selece said.
"Here's what we worked on for Cornelia, Drake, Aldarn, and Cassidy.", Hay Lin said as she showed everyone what she had in her sketch book. "Elyon drew it up for me.
"Whoa!", Micheal said looking at the drawing of what Elyon drew. "Nice work!"
"Thanks.", Elyon said.
"And you guys made these costumes?", Drake asked.
"It was pretty easy once I got all of your measurments.", Hay Lin said.
"Well I can't wait to wear what you made for me.", Cornelia said. "This looks awesome!"
"Glad you like it.", Selece said. "Here's what we made for Lillian and Chris if they want to enter the contest.", she said as she turned a page.
"That's so cute!", Taranee said. "I'm sure they'll want to wear them."
"I hope so.", Elyon said. "Hay Lin and Selece worked hard on them."
"It was nothing.", Hay Lin said.
"You know, Hay Lin, if your parents allow you to work at the costume shop you can see if Mr. Robins will allow you to sell some of your work there.", Will said.
"You think so?", Hay Lin questioned.
"Don't see why not.", Will said.
"I agree.", Angelo said.
"Same here.", Matt said. "You do great work."
"Thanks.", Hay Lin said she noticed Irma rubbing her inner thigh. "You okay, Irma?"
"Yeah.", Irma said as she rubbed her inner thigh some more. "I got a bit chaffed from my costume last night.", she said when she saw that Will was going to say something. "Not one word.", she said to which Will giggled a bit.
"Okay then.", Hay Lin said. "Now heres what I did for you, Will.", she said as she turned the page.
And for the rest of the lunch break, Hay Lin, Selece, Elyon, and Angelo showed the others what they made for them to wear. Watching them from a distance was Sylla who was wondering what they were talking about.
"What are they talking about?", Sylla asked himself. "It doesn't matter. Whatever it it, Hollens and Riddle will find out through the link they have with Hart and Lair.", he said as he walked off to attend to other things.
Later that evening, it was time for the adults' dance. Which meant that Angelo and those running the carnival had the night off to relax. So after saying goodnight to the others, Angelo walked Will home. Which brings us to now where we have Will and Angelo standing at the apartment door to the Vandom's home.
"Well today went well.", Angelo said. "Here's hoping tomorrow ends on a good note."
"I'm sure it will.", Will said. "We did a good job with the carnival. Plus, we have tonight to get some rest while the adults get to party."
"I got no problem with that.", Angelo said as he and Will smiled at each other. "So I guess I'll see you tomorrow."
"Yeah. Tomorrow.", Will said with a smile before they shared a kiss.
And it was then that the door opened to show Susan and Tony Vandom in their costumes.
"Well what do we have here?", Tony asked with a smirk causing the teens to seperate.
"I believe it is our daughter and her boyfriend saying goodnight.", Susan said with a smirk of her own.
"Mom! Dad!", Will shouted as a blush grew on her face.
"Don't be mad at us because we caught you two kissing.", Susan grinned.
"Nice cotumes, you two.", Angelo said to Will's parents.
"Thank you.", Susan said with a smile. "I'm just glad that I got the cloth one when I did or I would of been stuck with the leather one."
Susan was dressed as the Black Widow, minus the wig seeing as she had a lot of hair while Tony was dressed as the original Nick Fury.
"Well you two have fun at the dance.", Will said as she headed inside. "Don't be out to late.", she joked.
"Ha! Ha!", Tony said with a smirk. "Very funny, yong lady.", he said just as Will pulled Angelo into the apartment.
"Whoa!", Angelo said surprised by Will's actions.
"Hey!", Tony said as Will closed the door. "Why that little sneak!"
"Oh calm down, Tony.", Susan said. "We both know that they won't do anything stupid."
"Yeah.", Tony said. "You're right."
"Thank you.", Susan said as she hooked her arm around his. "Now let's go have some fun!", she said with a smile.
"Let's!", Tony said returning the smile. "You know, this takes me back to my teenage years."
"Same here.", Susan said smiling. "This is going to be fun!", she said as they got in the elevator.
As for Will and Angelo, they were still at the door with Angelo leaning against it as he and Will were making out. Soon the need for air came as they ended their little making out with a few short kisses.
"What the heck was that about?", Angelo questioned as he looked at a smiling Will.
"Do I need a reason to make out with my boyfriend?", Will asked as she turn and walked into the living room of her apartment. "Maybe I just wanted to.", she said as her hips swayed with every step.
Angelo watched as Will moved with each step. And in her costume that showed off her curves well along with her toned stomach Angelo had to admit that he liked what he saw. And Will knew this.
"Do you like what you see, Mr. Vanders?", Will asked as she kicked off the boots to her costume.
"Yes I do, Ms. Vandom.", Angelo said.
"Then what's stopping you?", she asked as she took the gloves off and tossed them on the coffee table. "I mean I didn't dress like this today for nothing.", she said referring to the X-Men Legends' Jean Grey costume she had on.
Angelo then kicked off the boots to his costume and removed his gloves and tossed them on the coffee table as well as he walked up to Will and kissed her again as they fell down on the couch and began to make out passoinatly. As they were doing this, Angelo fought the urge to try anything that would upset Will. But then he made the mistake of snaking his hands under the top of Will's costume and cupping her chest earning a gasp of surprise from Will. At that moment Angelo thought that Will was going to zap him, yet she didn't. Instead he heard a few moans from Will. Taking a chance, he began to massage her bosom which got more moans from Will. Liking this, Angelo continued to do this surprised at how Will was liking it as she was running her hands up and down his back. Angelo then slowly ended his massage as he gave Will a kiss that she happily returned before they ended up laying together on the couch with some love songs playing on the radio. Will was laying on Angelo who had an arm around Will while his other one was resting behind his head.
"Mmmmmmm... That was nice.", Will said with a smile as she laid there on Angelo.
"I-I-I'm still surprised that you let me do that.", Angelo said. "I mean it felt good. And I mean REAL good. But still. I can'tbelieve you let me go THAT far!"
"Did they really feel good?", Will asked as she looked at Angelo. "I know that I'm not as big as some other girls, but..."
"But nothing!", Angelo said. "You're my girlfriend, Will. You are. And I like you for you. Not for your body. Even though it is banging.", he said making Will blush with a small smile. "My point is that I care for you. Always have. Only now we're together which means that I now care for you even more. And I don't want to cross any lines when we get... frisky. So if you don't like something I'm about to do, just say so. Okay."
"Okay.", Will said before they shared a kiss and went back to listening to the music.
Now in the Robertson's home were Micheal, Cornelia, Selece, and Matt who were watching some scary movies when...
"Pause it! Pause it! Pause it!", Cornelia said after they saw a scary scene.
"After all the things we've been through, you still get scared at scary movies?", Micheal said as he paused the movie.
"We've fought robots, and a few strange creatures.", Cornelia said. "We haven't faced a dream killer or a guy in a hockey mask."
"She does have a point.", Selece said.
"True.", Matt said. "But Freddy and Jason got nothing on Nerissa."
"Unless she turns them into one of her Knights of Destruction.", Cornelia said with a grin.
"Look out Elm Street and Crystal Lake!", Matt laughed.
"I wonder what they would be the knights of.", Selece questioned.
"Dreams and Pain.", Micheal said getting a laugh out of the others. "So can we continue with the movie?"
"Yes.", Cornelia said as she snuggled up closer to Micheal on their side of the couch they were on with Matt and Selece who were on the other side. "Thanks for being a great boyfriend.", she said.
"I try.", Micheal said before they shared a kiss.
"Never thought I'd be here at night watching scary movies with you.", Matt said as Selece sat closer to him.
"Well I never thought I'd have you here watching scary movies.", Selece said. "And yet here we are."
"So we should just enjoy our time together.", Matt said.
"Good idea.", Selece said before they shared a kiss and went back to watching the movie.
Later that evening Donald and Hanna Robertson returned home to find their children and their signifigant others sleeping on the couch while the movie they had on was playing.
"Didn't think we'd come home to this.", Donald said with a grin.
"But it is pretty cute to see.", Hanna said with a grin. "Should we wake them?"
"Nah!", Donald said. "Let them sleep. They have been pretty busy with the carnival and all."
"True.", Hanna said as she got two blankets from the hallway closet and handed one to Donals. "They deserve this moment.", she said as she laid a blanket on Michel and Cornelia while Donald laid his blanket on Selece and Matt.
Then after taking a picture of the sleeping teens on their cell phones, Donald and Hanna then headed upstairs and got ready for bed. Meanwhile, Tony and Susan returned home to see Will and Angelo sleeping on the couch.
"Why am I not surprised?", Tony questioned.
"You got to admit that Will looks happy.", Susan said as she took a blanket out of the hallway closet and placed it over the two teens as they slept.
"Yeah.", Tony said with a smile as he kissed his sleeping daughter on her forehead. "I've got a lot to make up for, don't I?"
"At least you're trying.", Susan said before they shared a kiss. "And that's what matters.", she said before they shared another kiss before Susan gave John a phone call letting him know about Angelo before heading to the bedroom with Tony.
Soon morning came and Will woke up to find that the blanket on her and Angelo and knew that her parents were home.
"Good morning", Susan said as she walked into the living room.
"Good morning.", Will said with a yawn as she stretched her arms.
"Looks like you two were more tired than you thought.", Susan said as she sat in a chair with a cup of coffee.
"I guess so.", Will said with another yawn waking Angelo up. "Good morning."
"Good morning.", Angelo said with a yawn as he sat up. "Wait! Morning!? What time is it?"
"About 8:25.", Susan said.
"Okay then.", Angelo said as he got up from the couch. "I got to get home and get cleaned up before the carnival.", he said as he grabbed his gloves and slipped his boots on. "Thanks for not freaking out when you found me and Will sleeping on the couch, Aunt Susan."
"Don't mention it.", Susan said. "Tony and I figured that you two were tired from all the work you two and your friends have been doing at the carnival."
"Where is dad anyway?", Will asked.
"He had to go to work early this morning.", Susan said. "But he will be able to make it to the carnival when he gets off of work."
"Great!", Will said as she walked Angelo to the door. "See you in a bit."
"You bet.", Angelo said before they shared a kiss before Angelo left.
Will then headed for the bathroom to get cleaned up herself. As for Angelo, he caught a bus and was heading home. About twenty minutes later, the bus had dropped Angelo off at the bus stop near his home and he ran there as fast as he could. Once there, he took out his keys and headed inside.
"Well look who decided to finally come home, dear.", Angelo's Grandpa Joe said smirking.
"Did you have a good sleep over the Vandom's?", Kadma asked her grandson with a smirk.
"Oh boy.", Angelo said. "Good morning, Grandma K. Good morning, Grandpa Joe."
"And a good morning to you.", Kadma said just as Cassidy came into the living room and saw Angelo to which a smirk grew on her face.
"Don't even start.", Angelo said knowing Cassidy enough to know that she was about to poke some fun.
"You mean about this?", Cassidy said as she showed Angelo a picutre of him and Will sleeping on the couch.
"How in the..."
"Will's mom sent it to your uncle and I got it from him.", Cassidy said as she pressed something. "And now the other girls have it."
"Say what!?", Angelo questioned getting a laugh from Cassidy.
"Oh it's not so bad.", Cassidy said. "I think it's kind of cute."
"And with that, I'm going to get cleaned up.", Angelo said as he headed for the stairs.
As he head up the stairs, Angelo's uncle was heading down the stairs.
"Have a good sleep?", John said with a grin.
"Ha! Ha! Very funny.", Angelo said as he walked past his uncle who grinned at him.
Grinning to himself, Angelo headed for the bathroom to take a shower. After his shower, Angelo headed for his bedroom to get dressed for the final day of the carnival. Once he was dressed, he headed downstairs for a quick breakfast when his phone rang.
"A picture from, Mrs. Robertson?", Angelo questioned as he checked it out and saw that it was of Micheal and Cornelia along with Matt and Selece sleeping on their couch. "Ha! Looks like I wasn't the only one who slept over someone elses place!", he laughed as he headed into the kitchen where he found Elyon drinking a glass of juice.
"Fianlly home I see.", Elyon joked.
"Yeah! Well I'm not the only one who slept somewhere else.", Angelo said as he took out his phone and sent Elyon the picture he got from Mrs. Robertson.
"What are you talking about?", Elyon asked as she got the picture. "Whoa! No way!"
"Yep!", Angelo said. "I'm going to send it to the others later.", he grinned as he popped some toaster strudels in the toaster and poured himself a glass of milk. "But for now, I eat breakfast."
About a hour and a half later, Angelo and the others arrived at the school and did a final check on things. Afterwards, Angelo got everyone together for a quick meeting when...
"Did you and Will have a good sleep?", Cornelia teased as she showed the picture she got from Cassidy.
"You two look so cute!", Selece said with a giggle.
"And so do you two with your boyfriends.", Angelo said as he showed them the picture he got from Mrs. Robertson.
"Aw! It's so adorable!", Will teased.
"How did you... My mom sent it to you. Didn't she?", Selece asked.
"Yep.", Angelo said.
"You send it to the others?", Cornelia asked in a deadpan tone to which Angelo nodded with a cheesy smile.
"Just like Cassidy did with the picture she got of me and Will.", Angelo said.
"See it like this, Cornelia.", Will said as she wrapped an arm arong the blonde's shoulder. "We can be embaressed together."
"Joy.", Cornelia said as they sat together while Angelo began to meeting..
"So what's this meeting about?", Bess asked.
"Well Knickerbocker came to me yesterday and told mem about how well the carnival is going.", Angelo said.
"Yeah. So?", Irma questioned not really caring.
"So, what we didn't know was that the school board has been here as well to check things out.", Angelo said surprising everyone.
"Okay. That's big.", Martin said.
"Yeah.", Alchemy said.
"Oh it gets bigger.", Angelo said. "Knickerbocker told me that the school board is willing to let us do this again."
"So we can do this for the carnival next year?", Selece questioned.
"Not exactly.", Angelo said. "They're willing to let us do this for a whole week.", he said surprising the everyone.
"Woo-Hoo!", Hay Lin cheered. "A whole week! This is awesome!"
"Wait a minute.", Uriah said. "There's a catch. Isn't there?"
"Yeah.", Angelo said. "If we agree to this, we can only do it during the Summer."
"Why am I not surprised?", Courtney questioned.
"When during the Summer?", Cassidy asked.
"We get to pick.", Angelo said. "As long as it's not near the end of August. Plus, we can use the kitchen."
"Hmmmmmm...", Selece said as she began to think. "Then how about we pick a time when there isn't much to do?"
"How about the week where July goes into August?", Will suggested.
"That can work.", Angelo said. "If we can get enough people to help. So who's in?"
Slowly but surely all but Irma and Caleb raised their hands. Even Uriah rasied his hand. surprising everyone.
"Don't look to surprised.", Uriah said. "I actaully had some fun doing this. A whole week of this has me interested."
"Well we have enough people to pull this off.", Angelo said. "I think we can get the food truck to get in on this with all the money they've made in the last two days."
"Oh they'll be up for it.", Uriah said. "If they can make more cash doing this for a week, they be more than happy to be here."
"Let's hope so.", Angelo said. "Now as for who we can get to come here for this, I was thinking that we could try and contact some of the animation companies and see if we can get some animators and voice over actors to come."
"We'll have to make a lot of calls.", Taranee said.
"I know.", Angelo said. "But maybe I talk to my uncle and see if he can lend a hand or two."
"What's the matter? Can't you handle it yourself?", Irma questioned. "I thought you guys could handle this yourselves."
"Okay. One, I thoguht you didn't want anything to do with this.", Angelo said. "And two, no one is above asking for help. How do you think we're able to pull off what we've done with the carnival?"
"He has a point.", Cassidy said. "We got help from the other students and teachers. Not to mention the parents who came to help."
"Anyway, we've got to open the gates to the school.", Angelo said as he checked his watch. "We can talk about this later this week. But for now, let's finish the carnival!"
Two hours later, people were walking around the school grounds and inside the school enjoying the carnival. They were either playing games, buying swag, getting autographs from Lala and any other celebarties that came, enjoying the food from the food trucks, or just hanging around having a good time.
"Who of thought we'd be able to pull this off?", Elyon questioned.
"Don't jinx it.", Alchemy said. "The day isn't over with yet."
"She has a point.", Cornelia said as the three of them were walking around the carnival. "The last thign we need is for something to go wrong."
"Or to be called away for our other job.", Alchemy said referring to Guardian duties.
"Then let's hope nothing happens.", Elyon said as they continued to walk among the crowd.
Elsewhere...
"Man! I so wish we to leave to fight some kind of evil.", Irma moaned as she walked to the bathroom with Caleb at her side. "It beats having to do that stupid dunk tank!"
"Well at least you finally got it over with.", Caleb grinned as he watched her walk around being soak and wet in her Sailor Jupiter costume. "Now you can get dressed into something dry."
"Finally!", Irma said. "I still can't believe that I had to do that so many times!"
"Well you did try to get out of doing it.", Caleb said. "No offence but you brought this on yourself."
"Yeah. Yeah.", Irma said as they arrived at one of the girls' bathrooms "But now it's over with and I can get into something dry.", she said she went ito the bathroom to change costumes.
A few minute later Irma came out dressed as Rouge from X-Men.
"Ah! Much better!", Irma said. "And now to get something to eat!"
"We better hurry if you want to make it in time for the costume contest.", Caleb said as they headed for the nearest exit to get to the food trucks.
"I got plenty of time for that.", Irma said when...
"Attention all contestance for the final costume contest.", came Taranee's voice over the intercom. "The contest will begin in one hour. I repeat. The costume contest will begin in one hour. Please be ready and backstage in one hour."
"You were saying?", Caleb said.
"No worries.", Irma said with the wave of her hand. "I'll be ready in time."
50 minutes later...
"Where have you been, Irma!?", Hay Lin asked as Irma finally showed up to get dressed. "Everybody else is ready to go but you!"
"Sorry, Hay Lin.", Irma said as she began to strip out of her costume. "The lines were pretty long at the food trucks."
"Oh brother.", Hay Lin said as she rolled her eyes. "You know that you could have gotten something to eat after the contest."
"But I was hungry.", Irma said as she began to put on the costume Hay Lin made for her. "And besides. I'm here now so no worries."
"Just be glad that she made it, Hay Lin.", Selece said as she was helping Will with her costume. "Hmmmmm... Not bad, Will. You look pretty good in this outfit."
"You think so?", Will questioned as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Totally!", Selece said.
"You look great!", Hay Lin said with a smile.
"You know, if any of you told me that I'd be wearing something like this for a costume contest, I'd say you were off your rockers.", Will said with a grin. "But I like this.", she said with a smile. "Think Angelo will like it?"
"Oh he'll love it.", Cornelia said. "And I have to say that you did a great job with this costume, Hay Lin.", she said as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Thanks!", Hay Lin said as she checked her watch. "Now let's get going! The contest is about to begin!"
As they exited the changing room for the girls, the guys came out of their changing room and they all got a good look at each other.
"Hello!", Angelo said as he got a good look at Will.
"You like?", Will said flirting with Angelo while fanning herself with the fan to her costume.
"Me like.", Angelo said in a sly tone before offering his arm to Will. "Shall we, Me Lady?"
"Yes we shall, Good Sir.", Will said as she flipped her fan closed while accepting his arm and walked off with him with the others behind them.
"You look nice.", Aldarn said to Cassidy as they walked together holding hands.
"Thanks.", Cassidy said with a smile that Aldarn returned. "You look pretty good yourself."
"This is so cool!", Chris said as he admired his costume.
"Yeah!", Lillian said a she skipped around in her costume. "This is so much fun!"
"I take it that they like their costumes.", Hay Lin said with a giggle.
"What was your first clue?", Cornelia asked with a smirk as they got to the multi-purpose room and headed backstage.
Once backstage, they all saw that there were a lot of people there in some interesting costumes.
"Wow! Now those are some interesting costumes!", Hay Lin said liking what she saw.
"I'll say!", Selece said. "This is going to be so cool!"
"So if you're here, who's going to get things started?", Will asked Angelo.
"Micheal.", Angelo said. "And Taranee and Nigel will be announcing who's coiming out. Which will start right about..."
"Welcome, everyone, to the Original Concept Costume Contest.", came Micheal's voice from the stage.
"Now.", Angelo said.
On stage...
"Get ready for some interesting costumes, people!", Micheal said. "But first, let's welcome our judges! Sheffield's own Mr. Jones! The Costume Shop's Jim Robins! And the one and only Lala Wong!", he announces as the judges came out on stage and took their seats getting cheers frpm the audiance.
Mr. Jones was dressed as a pirate version of Cyclops while Jim was dressed as wild west version of Captian America, and Lala was dressed as a wild west versoin of Chun-Li. All three of them got cheers from the audiance before Taranee and Nigel began to introduce the contestance.
"First we have a group dressed as a pirate versions of the X-Men.", Taranee said as said group came out on stage.
The crowd cheered as pirate versions of Storm, Beast, Iceman, Shadowcat, Firestar, Rouge, and Gambit came out on stage.
"Nice!", Mr. Jones said impressed with the costumes as the group walked off stage.
"Now we have Stephen Hollens dressed as Captian America in Master Chief armor!", Nigel announced as Stephen came out on stage in said costume.
The people cheered as they marveled at Stephen's costume. It looked like the armor Mastr Cheif would wear only it was colored in the colors of Captain America. He even had the shield.
"Nicely done.", Jim said as Stephen walked off stage.
"Next up we have Alchemy Ethel, Irma Lair, and Elyon Brown as Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Princess Rosalina dressed like the Mario Brothers only in their own colors and with different power ups from the games.", Taranee said as the girls came out on stage.
There were Alchemy, Irma, and Elyon in their costumes. The crowd cheered as they liked their outfits. All three girls had on shoes like the Mario Brothers only they were white along with white gloves. Alchemy was Peach with a blonde wig dressed in a pair of pink overalls and a light pink t-shirt with a pink hat with a "P" on it. Irma was Daisy with a pair of orange overalls and a yellow t-shirt and a orange hat with a "D" on it. And Elyon was Rosalina with a pair of teal overalls and a light teal t-shirt and a teal hat with a "R" on it. As for their power ups, Alchemy had a yellow cape, Irma had raccoon ears on her hat and a raccoon tail on the back of her overalls, and Elyon had wings on her hat.
"Not bad.", Lala said impressed with the costumes. "If only there was a game based off of this. I'd play it!"
"Same here.", Jim said.
"It would be an interesting game.", Mr. Jones said as the girls walked off stage.
"Think we'll place?", Alchemy asked as they were off stage.
"Maybe.", Elyon said. "There are plenty of other people in the contest."
"Well I think we'll place.", Irma said. "I'm sure of it.", she said as she went to use the bathroom.
"Well she's confident.", Alchemy said.
"A little to confident if you ask me.", Elyon said.
"Next up we have Mandy Andersom as a Final Fantasy X-2 Gunner version of Yuffie from Final fantasy VII!", Nigel announced as Mandy came out on stage getting cheers from the crowd
"Not bad.", Jim said. "You took two very popular games and combined them. Nice job.", she said to Mandy before she walked off stage.
"Next we have Christopher Lair and Lillian Hale as a more modern version of Young Link and young Zelda.", Taranee announced as the two children walked out on stage getting cheers from the crowd as they stood before them.
Lillian was dressed in a pair of purple jean shorts with white and purple sneakers and a light violet t-shirt and a purple vest with the Triforce symbol on the back along with a light violet headband with the Triforce symbol on it. As for Chris, he was dressed in a pair of green jean shorts and a green t-shirt with brown hiking boots and a green cap with a toy sword strapped at his side and a small wooden shield in his right hand.
"That is so cute!", Lala said loving their costumes getting a smile from both kids before they walked off stage.
"Next up we have the group of Cornelia Hale, Drake Smith, Cassidy Chacon, and Aldarn Jones as modern versions of Zelda, Link, Malon, and Gannondorf.", Nigel announced as said group came out on stage and got plenty of cheers from the crowd.
First, we have Aldarn as Gannondorf with the hair needed in the right places on his face. He was dressed in a pair of dark brown jeans with black Timberland boots and a black tank top with a black fingerless gloves and a black leather jacket with the Triforce symbol on the back of it. Next was Drake as Link with white jeans and brown Timberland boots, an white t-shirt and brown fingerless gloves with a green hoodie with the Triforce symbol on the back. Then there was Cassidy as Malon in a yellow mini-skirt and brown short heeled boots and a shirt that Malon wears only mid-drift. Finally, we have Cornelia as Zelda dressed in a pair of pink bell bottom jeans with a white belt and white short heeled boots with a white mid-drift t-shirt with the Triforce symbol on the front and a pink vest with the Triforce symbol on the back and Triforce earrings.
"Okay. This is some great work.", Lala said. "You guys took a classic game and gave it a modern twist."
"Actually, this is the work of our friends, Hay Lin, Selece, and Elyon.", Cassidy said.
"Yeah. They worked on this when they had the time to.", Cornelia said.
"Well they did some great work.", Jim said impressed with the work.
"I agree.", Mr. Jones siad. "Nicely done.", he said as they walked off stage.
"Next up we have Will Vandom and Angelo Vanders as a Victorian Nick Fury & Black Widow!", Taranee announced as Will and Angelo came out on stage getting cheers from the crowd.
Will was dressed in a black silk evening gown with delicate lace and ribbon trim. Her hair is covered with a sheer black frill trimmed with matching black ribbon knots. She wears a black spider necklace with, tasseled earrings, and bracelets on each wrist. She then flips out her fan and fans herself getting more cheers from the crowd. As for Angelo he was dressed in a fancy black three piece suit with an eye patch and his hair in their normal dreads. As they walked off stage, they got cheers from the crowd.
"Next up we have...", Taranee said introducing the next contestant.
For the next thirty-five minute, more and more contestants came out showing off what they came up with for costumes. Afterwards that judges went backstage to decided who their fabvorite picks were as well as the top five winners.
"Okay. Let's be honest.", Jim said. "We saw some interesting costumes today. These contestance went all out for this contest."
"Couldn't agree more.", Lala said. "I have my picks, but to decide which ones to put in the top five is tough."
"But we have to pick.", Mr. Jones said. "So let's go through them.", he said as they went over the photos of the contestance in their costumes.
Thirty minutes later...
"Okay people! This is it!", Micheal said getting the attention of the crowd. "The judges are ready to announce their favorite picks as well as the top five winners. Now 5th place will recieve $200 while 4th place will recive $400, and 3rd place will recive $600. 2nd place will recieve $800 and finally 1st plac will recieve $1000! Take it away judges!", he said as the judges walked out on stage.
"My Judge's Pick is for Stephen Hollens dressed as Captian America in Master Chief armor.", Jim Robins said getting cheers from the crowd as Stephen walked out on stage to recieve his trophy and stood where Micheal had him stand.
"My Judge's Pick is for the Pirate X-Men!", Mr. Jone said to which said group came out on stage getting cheers from the crowd as they got their trophies and stood with Stephen.
"And my Judge's Pick is for Will Vandom and Angelo Vanders as a Victorian Nick Fury & Black Widow!", Lala said getting cheers from the crowd as Will and Angelo came out on stage to get their trophies and stood with the other Judge's Picks.
"I'm surprised we got a Judge's Pick.", Angelo said.
"Same here.", Will said as they stood together. "I wonder who the top five are?"
"No idea.", Angelo said. "Let's hope it's one of the others", he said getting a nod from Will as the judges were about to announce the winners.
"In 5th place we have Christopher Lair and Lillian Hale as a more modern version of Young Link and young Zelda!", Lala announced happily getting cheers from the crowd as Lillian and Chris happily came out on stage and got their trophies and prize money and stood with the Judge's Picks.
"They actually got fifth place?", Irma questioned.
"They do have a cute look.", Cassidy said. "You did a great job there, Hay Lin."
"Thanks.", Hay Lin said with a smile just as the next winner was going to be announced.
"In 4th place we have Alchemy Ethel, Irma Lair, and Elyon Brown as Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, and Princess Rosalina dressed like the Mario Brothers.", Jim announced as the threre girls came out on stage to recieve their thophies and prize money and stood with the other winners while getting cheers from the crowd.
"Fourth place?", Irma questioned. "We got fourth place?"
"Better than nothing.", Elyon said.
"Yeah.", Alchemy said. "So be happy."
"Yeah. Yeah.", Irma said in a annoyed tone. "Whatever.", she said to which Elyon and Alchemy rolled their eyes annoyed at Irma's attitude.
"Now in 3rd place we have the Steampunk Avengers.", Mr. Jones said getting cheers from the crowd as said group came out on stage to recieve their trophies and prize money and stood with the other winners.
"In 2nd place we have the group of Cornelia Hale, Drake Smith, Cassidy Chacon, and Aldarn Jones as modern versions of Zelda, Link, Malon, and Gannondorf.", Jim announced as said group came out on stage and got plenty of cheers from the crowd as they got their trophies and prize money.
"What!?", Irma questioned as the group stood with them.
"Don't be so surprised.", Angelo said. "Their costumes are pretty awesome."
"This is so not fair.", Irma complained. "First, she wins yesterday and now she gets higher than us today."
"Wow! Talk abotu a sore winner.", Cassidy said. "You're in the top five. So be happy.", she said to which Irma pouted as she turned her head away.
"And in 1st place we have Mandy Andersom as a Final Fantasy X-2 Gunner version of Yuffie from Final fantasy VII!", Lala announced as a happy Mandy came out on stage getting cheers from the crowd to recieve her trophy and prize money and stood with the other winners.
"Well folks! Let's give it up for our winners!", Micheal said to which the crowd cheered. "Thanks for coming everyone! It means a lot! And now go and enjoy the rest of the carnival!"
As the poeple were leaving the multi-pourpose room, the Lairs and Hales came up to congragulate their children.
"Did you have fun, Chris?", Anna Lair asked her son.
"Yeah!", Chris said. "I got a trophy and everything!", he said as he showed off his trophy.
"Me too, mommy and daddy!", Lillian said as she showed her father her trophy.
"We're very proud of you, Pumkin.", Harold Hale said with a smile.
"And what did you decide to do with the money?", Tom Lair asked the two children.
"Split it and give Hay Lin half.", Chris said.
"It's only fair seeing as she made the costume.", Lillian said.
"Isn't that sweet.", Elizabeth said with a smile.
"Thanks but you two can keep the money.", Hay Lin said. "You both earned it."
"Really!?", both kids questioned to which Hay Lin nodded with a smile. "Thanks!"
"Well we're cutting you in on our prize money.", Cassidy said to Hay Lin.
"And we won't take no for an answer.", Elyon said. "You worked hard on these costumes. So you deserve it."
"Well you guys helped out as well.", Hay Lin said before looking at Irma. "Well... most of you.", she said to which Irma pouted a bit knowing Hay Lin was aiming her last comment at her.
"Well you deserve your fair share.", Alchemy said.
"Thanks.", Hay Lin said. "But for now let's have some fun!", she said as they went to enjoy the rest of the carnival.
'This is so not fair!', Irma thought to herself. 'Maybe I can talk Hay Lin into letting me keep some of the money.'
But what Irma didn't know was that Riddle and Hollen knew what she was thinking due to the unknown link they had with her and Caleb. And this was the chance they were waiting for.
"It seems that the Water Guardian's greed just may play to our advantage.", Riddle said as he and Hollens were at their hidden factory watching oveer the work being done on their robot army. "She and the boy will finally be of some use."
"Indeed, my friend.", Hollens said. "We just have to wait for the right time to move ahead with our plans. By the way, how ever did you get the blueprints for the microchip John Vanders and the Robertsons created?"
"The FBI has been working on a mini-robot that can attach itself to computers and hack into them.", Riddle explained. "I used one to hack into the computer they were using at Simutech and got all the information needed to make the microchips."
"Excellent work, Riddle.", Hollens said. "To think it's because of one little microchip that we'll take over a world. And from there many more worlds. Of course they'll be worlds that don't have much life."
"I don't see why we don't start doing that now instead of going after Metamoor.", Riddle said.
"The higher-ups want to see how we fair against a word with an army.", Hollens explained.
"In other words, they want to test our power.", Riddle said.
"Yes.", Hollens said. "I wouldn't be surprised if they try to take over mid-battle."
"Don't jinx it, my friend.", Riddle sid with a grin. "We've come to far for that to happen."
"Indeed we have, my friend.", Hollens said. "Indeed we have. But for now we need to get as many of those chips as possible. We don't have time to make the number we need."
"Leave that to me, my friend.", Riddle said. "I have it all under control."
A/N: And so things are moving forward when it comes to Hollens and Riddle's plan to attack Metamoor. They have the microchip needed to advance their robot army and are willing to go. They just have to get the Guardains out of the way. And they plan on using Irma and Caleb to do it. But how and when? Find out in the next chapter.
