Prompt 7: Amaryllis

The sky was a beautiful mix of pinks and blues as the sun started setting. With the day almost over, the hasty bustle of life seemed to slow down as well. A certain couple was completely relaxed as they walked to the front door of their home. The blond haired man held a suitcase in each hand, while his red head partner held something a little more precious, wrapped in a soft blanket. The newborn contently slept in his papa's arms, unaware at the two pairs of eyes that looked at her lovingly.

Draco put the suitcases down before the door.

"Well that took longer than usual. I thought they were going to keep Amaryllis another day"

Ron chuckled, readjusting his grip on their new baby girl, Amaryllis. Many people thought it was a very peculiar name, especially for a girl, but Ron felt as though it fit his baby girl.

"They just wanted to make sure she was healthy, love" Ron answered, still cooing at his daughter.

Draco put his arm around Ron, making sure not to disturb his grip on Amaryllis, kissing him on cheek as he admired his daughter.

"I don't know why, she's bigger than both Hugo and Scorpius were when they were born."

Ron turned his head, kissing his husband full-on. Pulling back, he answered.

"They're twins, of course they were smaller. She had all the room in the world to grow!"

Draco stifled a laugh at the statement.

"Speaking of twins, look at the window"

Ron looked, and the curtains had been pushed away revealing their five year twin sons. Hugo favored Ron in appearance, but Draco in attitude while Scorpius look like a clone of Draco, but was as tenderhearted as Ron. Though Ron loved Draco with all his heart, he had never felt a love stronger than the love he felt for his kids, all three of them.

Hugo and Scorpius were waving frantically, each trying to get a view of their baby sister. The only reason they hadn't opened the front door themselves was the fact that their grandfather Lucius had stopped them, wanting the new parents to have their moment. By his disheveled hair Draco knew that his kids had 'terrorized' their poor grandfather all day, while they were at the hospital.

Ron chuckled at his children's enthusiasm and Lucius appearance.

"Let's go in. I think they've waited long enough."

Before the door was fully open, there were sounds of heavy footsteps and screams of,

"I want to hold her!"

"No me first"

Lucius and Draco motioned for them to quiet down.

"You guys are going to wake her up," Lucius scolded lightly "Now wait in the living room like I told you"

The twins pouted, looking at Ron to see if they really had to listen to grandfather.

Ron smiled, "Now go sit down on the sofa and I'll let you hold her."

That seemed to amend their sour mood as they all but ran to the living room. Scorpius came back, giving Draco and Ron a quick hug, which was rewarded with a kiss from both parents.

"I missed you guys" With that said, he ran back to join his brother.

"Don't let the cuteness fool you." Lucius muttered half-heartedly, getting a good look at the bundle in Ron's arms. "I pray that you turn out nothing like your brothers." He told the sleeping baby.

Draco chuckled. "We were only gone a day and a half, what could they have done?"

"Nothing!" Came two voices from down the hall, causing the three adults to laugh.

Soon, in the living room, Amaryllis was transferred into Lucius waiting arms. She was awake, and contently held onto his fingers as Ron used him as an example to the twins on how to hold their new baby sister.

Scorpius was first, being supervised by Draco.

"Why does she look so squishy" Hugo whispered, getting on Ron lap.

Ron kissed his forehead, "All babies look like that, and as she grows up it is going to be yours and Scorpius duty to protect her"

"Like how a guard protects a princess" Hugo concluded and Ron agreed.

"Yeah, exactly like that!"

A few minutes later Amaryllis was in Hugo's arms and Lucius slipped quietly away promising that he and Narcissa would be back the next day (Narcissa had been with them at the hospital).

"She doesn't do much, huh papa?" Scorpius observed as Ron fed his new sister.

"She'll be moving around and playing with you guys soon enough" Draco said, reminiscing the time when the twins had been young. The time flew by so fast and soon enough they would be graduating from Hogwarts. Draco could never have imagined that his life would turn out like this. He had honestly thought that he would be a bachelor all his life, but his family of five proved otherwise.

Soon Amaryllis diaper was changed and all three children were tucked in for bed.

Ron and Draco lay down in bed, exhausted. It had taken longer than they thought to get all three kids down for the night.

"And to think, Amaryllis will be waking us up in a few hours" Draco yawned looking over at the crib.

"Don't jinx us!" Ron scolded, with no force behind the words. He knew Draco's words were true, having had the twins.

He wrapped his arms and snuggled as close as humanly possible to his husband, laying stray kisses on his neck and cheek.

Draco chuckled, capturing Ron's lips in a long, lazy kiss.

"Thank you so much, you were amazing."

Ron smiled at the complement, eyes getting heavy.

"Of course I'm amazing. It's not every day that I have our third child"

"I'm so happy" Was the last thing Ron heard Draco say, before succumbing to sleep.

Draco kissed Ron's forehead before closing his eyes to catch a couple hours of sleep, making a promise to be the one to take the first "crying duty".

A/N: I loved including a post-war tender Lucius in this. The twins are also adorable! I love thinking about them tormenting the adults with their cuteness. Just so you know Amaryllis is a flower meaning "Fresh, and Sparkling" (Source: thinkbabynames website). I hope I was able to include more of a romance factor into the story.

Still taking request, and remember to review!
