After 12 days, the trio were getting restless and wanted to go. But they knew they had to because it allowed time for Ella to go hunting and recharge, so that she wouldn't make a mistake that will ruin the chances for all four of them. She spoke to her family in regards of what's going to happen. Everyone was ready for anything that may happen after getting the horcrux from Bellatrix's Vault. When there was a collective agreement that it was time to put their plan into action, Ella held onto a piece of Bellatrix's hair to show everyone, Ron spoke up, "Are you sure that's hers?"
"Positive," she answered.
"How will we know what it is when we get in? Horcruxes can be anything," Ron asked.
"I'll- I'll know," Harry answered.
"How?" Hermione questioned.
"I don't know how to explain it, but I'll know," he said.
"It's like it speaks to you, doesn't it?" Ella asked.
Harry thought about what she said and that was the closest thing that could describe what he wanted to convey, "Yeah, like that."
At that moment, Fleur interrupted and said, "This is the closest I could find to what you described," giving her a black piece of garment.
"It's perfect," she said, taking the clothing. "Thank you, Fleur."
Bill came in, "You're leaving, aren't you?"
"In the morning," Harry confirmed.
"And Griphook?" he asked.
"He's coming with us.
"Listen, I know goblins. If you struck any kind of bargain with Griphook, you must be exceptionally careful to live up to it. If you don't, he won't be forgiving," he replied.
"That's why I'll be there, to ensure that he follows through on his part. He also knows what would happen if he doesn't," Ella informed him. Ella could see his shoulders relax when he heard her say that.
Ella spent time with Hermione, helping her get ready for the plan, "I know that you don't need me to tell you any different, but please remember that you're not being you, so saying things like you normally do will and can potentially harm you."
"So saying something like "Good morning" to a DeathEater could lead to a duel?" she asked.
"Possibly, yes," she confirmed. "This is Bellatrix Lestrange, so DeathEaters are bound to acknowledge her and she thrives on that but she doesn't show the same respect that they have to show her. Also, remember, Bellatrix has no patience with anyone, other than the Dark Lord, she will look down at people. Remember how she behaved when she was tormenting you."
Hermione shivered and decided to use that limited experience to her benefit. Once she changed into her outfit, they both went outside and met the boys, "Well? How do I look?"
"Hideous," Ron responded. None laughed, even though he was attempting to lighten the mood.
They were waiting for Griphook to arrive with the sword and made idle chatter to pass the time. When he arrived, Harry spoke up, "You can give that to Hermione to hold, all right, Griphook? We're relying on you. If you get us past the guards, into the vault and out of it, the sword's yours." Griphook gave the sword to Hermione and she put it into her purse. They all put their hands in the middle but Griphook was tentative because he knew that there was no way out it, especially with Ella's presence. He touched one of the hands and they immediately disapparated and arrived to an empty alley way. Once there, Harry and Griphook hid themselves into one of the dark shadows as Ella made herself look like she was bounded behind Hermione.
A single Death Eater walked by and saw her, bowed slightly, "Madam Lestrange." Hermione just waved her hand, motioning that he could leave, looking bored at being there. The Death Eater left, not suspecting anything odd about her behavior.
When they knew and felt for sure that they were safe, Harry spoke up, "Okay. Let's do it." He knelt down and allowed Griphook to hold himself onto Harry's shoulders. When Harry stood up, Ron put the invisibility cloak around them and then put the shackles onto Ella's wrists. They all walked towards the bank. Once they got into the bank, Hermione's behavior started to break but Ella was fast enough to whisper in her ear to give her encouragement to not break out of character.
When they arrived to the head goblin, Hermione spoke up, "I wish to enter my vault."
Without looking up, he said, "Identification?"
"I hardly think that'll be necessary," she replied.
He looked up and saw who it was, "Madam Lestrange."
He left his station and she said, "I don't like to be kept waiting!"
"They know. They know she's an imposter. They've been warned," he whispered.
"Shut it, goblin!" Ella cursed.
"Harry?" Ron whispered. "What do we do, Harry?"
The goblin returned with his supervisor. The supervisor said, "Madam Lestrange, would you mind presenting your wand?"
"And why should I do that?"
"It's the bank's policy. I'm sure you understand given the current climate," he explained.
"No. I most certainly do not understand," she said.
"I'm afraid I must insist," he insisted.
All that time, Harry walked towards the supervisor and all the while, still under his cloak, he pointed his wand at the goblin and whispered, "Imperio."
Instantaneously, he said, "Very well, Madam Lestrange. If you will follow me," and led her to the tracks. His employee stood there, dumbfounded as to allowing that to happen. They all managed to get onto the tram-like structure and headed to Bellatrix's Vault. For what felt like hours, it was only mere minutes of them driving through the air to the Vault. In a distance, they could hear something splashing. As they got closer, they could see the water fall.
Harry pointed to the water and voiced, "What's that, Griphook?" No answer came from him as he kept on driving. "Griphook." Griphook drove them through the waterfall and lost their way in the air and they all began falling down.
"Arresto Momentum," Ella called out and they all stopped midair as they landed somewhat disorderly on the ground.
"Thank you, Ella," Harry said as they all got up. "Oh, no," he said as he looked at Hermione. "You look like you again."
"The Theif's Downfall," Griphook answered. "Washes away all enchantments. Can be deadly."
"You don't say. Just out of interest, is there any other way out of here?" Ron asked.
"No," Griphook said.
"Yes, there is," Ella said. "He doesn't want to tell you where it is." She looked at him sharply. "Fortunately for all of you, I know where it is and will help you. Remember the treaty, goblin!"
Griphook grumbled and was ready to move on until the head Goblin shook his head clear and looked around, "What the devil are all you doing down here? Thieves! When you gave up the keys, you—"
"Imperio," Ron said as he pointed his wand at the goblin. In a short distance, they heard a noise and they all walked over towards it. "That doesn't sound good." When they arrived to the origin of the noise, Ron exclaimed "Bloody hell."
"That's a Ukrainian Ironbelly," Griphook explained. He picked up two instruments and gave one to Ron, "Here. It's been trained to expect pain when it hears the noise," he said as he started to twist the instrument around. Ron followed suit as the dragon quivered away from the sound as the group headed towards the entrance of the Vault.
"That's barbaric," Hermione responded.
"Right now, it's the only thing that will help us get into the Vault, Hermione," Ella explained.
Harry opened the vault and entered it. Once inside, he put up his wand and said, "Lumos." The others did the same.
"Blimey," Ron said as he looked at what was inside.
"Accio Horcrux," Hermione said.
"You're not trying that one again, are you?"
"That kind of magic won't work in here," Ella said. "No magic can work here."
"Is it here, Harry? Can you feel anything?" Ron inquired.
Harry was looking around as well as Ella. She looked up and said, "That's it, up there!" she pointed to the Cup sitting on top of a shelf. Harry was walked up and accidentally touched a fake cup. It fell down to the ground, spun around before replicating itself.
"They've added the Gemino curse. Everything you touch will multiply," Griphook said.
Harry looked over to Hermione, "Give me the sword."
"Stop moving," Ella called out.
Harry fought against the multiplication of the cups and got the cup, "Got it," he called out.
"Everybody, out!" Ella called out. They fought against the cups and managed to get out and close the vault as some of the cups came flowing out with them.
"We had a deal, Griphook," Ella said. "Get us out. Then we'll give you the sword."
"The only way out is through the entrance," Griphook responded.
"That's not the only way out and you know that!" Ella called out. "Are you backing out of the treaty?"
"I am not but the treaty is no longer active," he said.
"What are you talking about?"
"We know the truth of what happened between the Volturi and your family," he said. If Ella was surprised, she didn't show it. "When a coven goes against the Volturi, any treaty between vampires and goblins are null and void, effective immediately."
"In case you haven't noticed, they're my family, not my coven!"
"Since they are your family, the treaty doesn't apply to you," Griphook said. He grabbed the sword from Hermione and disapparated.
"He took the sword!" Harry yelled.
"No, he didn't," Ella said.
"Are you blind? He just took the sword from Hermione," Ron said.
"I know, but it's not the real sword," Ella said. She grabbed a similar noisemaker out of her purse and started making a noise.
"Ella?" Harry asked.
"Look, I know that you don't understand what's going on but we don't have much time," she said as she continued to shake the rattle. The dragon started to lie down on its stomach and fall asleep. "I knew that he was going to betray me. I had a backup plan for it." Harry, Ron and Hermione were in shock. "He has a fake. My family and I made sure that we had another goblin working for us to make another sword for us. I have the real one, safely hidden."
"Blimey," Ron said.
"Look, we need to get out of here," Ella said.
"But how?" Harry asked.
"We fly," Ella said.
"Again, how?" Hermione inquired. Ella looked over at the dragon who was sleeping peacefully.
"No!" Hermione called out.
"It's the only way out. By now, Griphook is talking to security to throw us out," Ella said. "We need to leave now." She continued to make the noise as she climbed onto the dragon. Harry, Ron and Hermione climbed onto it. Once they were secure, Ella stopped shaking the rattle and said a spell to wake the dragon. With her wand, she made the leash disappear. "Hold on tight!" The dragon woke with a startle and struggled to stand up properly. He continued to climb onto the walls of the cave before pushing off from it and flying headfirst up the skylight. "Jump when I tell you!"
"What about you?" Harry asked.
"I'm going back to Hogwarts!" Ella said.
"NO!" Harry screamed.
"Harry, listen to me, my family needs me to help set things up for the final battle," she called out. For a moment, she looked over her shoulder and said, "I will see you again, Harry, trust me. You'll be fine!" He nodded. They continued to fly for a few more minutes.
"We're dropping," Harry said.
"Jump!" Ella called out.
"When?" Hermione asked.
"Now!" The three of them jumped into the open ocean as Ella stayed on the dragon and made it fly towards Hogwarts.
As soon as the three of them dropped into the ocean, Harry struggled staying afloat. He felt like someone grabbed his ankle and kept tugging him as he swam up to breathe in air as he saw flashes of what happened in Malfoy Manor. Visions of Voldemort killing various people and seeing him talk to Nagini. Once the vision had disappeared, he felt free and began to swim to shore. "He knows. You-Know-Who. He knows we broke into Gringotts. He knows what we took and he knows we're hunting Horcruxes," Harry said as all three of them walked some distance away from shore and onto dry land.
"How is it you know?" she asked as she got onto her knees and opened her purse.
"I saw him," he said as he began taking his wet clothes off of him.
"You let him in? Harry, you can't do that," she said.
"Hermione, I can't always help it. Well, maybe I can. I don't know," he confessed. He wasn't entirely too sure what he can do.
"Never mind," Ron interceded, "What happened?"
"Well, he's angry. And scared, too. He knows if we find them, and destroy all the Horcruxes we'll be able to kill him. I reckon he'll stop at nothing to make sure we don't find the rest. There's more, one of them is at Hogwarts," he said.
"What? You saw it?" she asked.
"I saw the castle and Rowena Ravenclaw. It must have to do with her. We have to go there now," he said.
"What?" Hermione asked, a bit in shock. "We can't do that! We've got to plan! We've got to figure it out..."
"Hermione!" Harry interrupted, "When have any of our plans ever actually worked? We plan, we get there, all hell breaks loose!"
"He's right," Ron agreed. "One problem: Snape's headmaster now. We can't just walk through the front door."
"And Ella just left. We could have asked her," Hermione added.
"Look, I didn't know that this was going to happen to me when we were in the ocean but it'll give us time," Harry said.
"Time for what?"
"Um, well, we'll go to Hogsmeade, to Honeydukes. Take the secret passage in the cellar. It's—There's something wrong with him. It's like, you know, in the past, I've always been able to follow his thoughts. And now everything just feels disconnected. Maybe it's the Horcruxes. Maybe he's growing weaker. Maybe he's dying. No. No, it's more like he's wounded. If anything, he feels more dangerous," Harry said, trying to convey what he felt.
"It's like you need time to wrap your mind around what you just went through?" Ron asked.
"Yeah, exactly," Harry responded. "I'm hoping that it'll be some kind of clue to show me a weakness of his."
"Okay, then let's go," Hermione said as they picked up their clothes and put it into her purse.
Unbeknownst to everyone outside of Malfoy Manor, Voldemort is walking away from all those who lie dead on the floor. He knew that Harry had seen what happened. He spoke in parseltongue as he talked to his beloved snake, "The boy has discovered our secret, Nagini. It makes us vulnerable. We must deploy all our forces now to find him. And you, my friend, must stay close." Nagini lifted his head, as he slithered alongside Voldemort, towards his hand and they both disapparated into thin air. Bellatrix walked towards the dead goblin and picked up the sword and swung it around her, giddy that the sword was back in her hands.
