We Now Return To Our Regular Broadcast

Cardin snickered. "Haha, 'broadcast'. Get it, cause there's so many female characters in the cast of the show?"

Sky, who was lounging at the other end of the couch, glanced sideways at Cardin. "What, now?"

Cardin sat up, using his hands to make gestures that were entirely unnecessary. "Like, it's a 'broadcast', because the main cast is a bunch of broads, right? Get it?"

After a few seconds of staring blankly at his team's leader, Sky shook his head. "I don't get it. I mean, I get what you think you're saying, but I have legitimately never heard that word used that way."

Before the conversation could get any further, the two boys were interrupted by...

MARMITE

Sky returned to staring blankly as Cardin was covered head to toe in Marmite. Neither boy moved, one out of shock and the other out of bewilderment, as the process continued. When all the Marmite had been deposited, Nora turned and bolted out of the room. Silence descended upon team CRDL's room. Nothing more happened. It was a hit-and-run Marmite operation.

Earlier that night...

Pyrrha and Nora sat on Nora's bed, talking about the things girls talk about while Ren and Jaune chilled at the other end of the room, talking about the things boys talk about. So while Nora explained her theories on non-linear spacial abrasions to Pyrrha, Jaune was explaining his theories on sloth sounds to Ren. It was in the middle of these two heated discussions that Nora suddenly stopped talking and bolted up into a standing position. She quickly reached under her bed and pulled out... a jar of Marmite.

Nora raises the Marmite in the air. "I can feel it. The time has come. Let's get some Marmite on!"

Ren rests his face in the palm of his hand. "Oh no, not again."

Pyrrha stands up as Nora rushes out of the room. She turns to Ren, her eyes filled with desperation. "Where did you put that inflatable bouncy castle? This is a Code Nora situation! I repeat, Code Nora!"

Ren shook his head. "No, Pyrrha, it's worse. Much worse. She has the Marmite! There's no stopping her now!"

The entire dorm building shook from an explosion, which was the volatile Marmite pasted to Cardin Winchester detonating. Secondary explosions could be heard echoing down the halls as other things Nora had slathered were violently obliterated. Ren fell to his knees, whimpering for mercy from whatever deity would listen. Pyrrha collapsed back onto her bed, shaking in terror at what was happening around them.

"The end is nigh! The end is nigh! Repent sinners or perish! The fires of the apocalypse are upon us! None shall be spared!" The high-pitched screaming came from the halls as students and school staff alike fled in stark terror.

Jaune stood, then turned to look at Ren. "My friend, consider our chat... postponed." The light of hoped reappeared in Ren's eyes as Jaune stepped out of the room.

"Jaune will save us," Pyrrha swooned.

Out in the halls, our brave hero Jaune saw the decimation left behind. The bravest of the students, young Blake Belladonna, lay on the ground barely holding on to consciousness. She saw Jaune and reached up to him, her hand shaking.

"My tuna was no match for her Marmite. I cannot go on."

Jaune reached down and clasped her hand. "Do not worry. I will stop her and save everyone at Beacon." Seeing the look of worry in Blake's eyes, Jaune added, "I will not harm Nora."

Suddenly, from down the hallway... "MARMITE VORTEX!"

A wall of the terrifying spread hit Jaune, sending him crashing to the ground. He had been taken by surprise. Trying to stand up again, he found himself trapped under the weight of the Marmite. "No! I can't be defeated! I must save everyone! Nora, you... What have you done!?"

Nora looked down at him, peeking over the top of her jar of Marmite. "What have I done? I have only done what you and the rest of Beacon have failed to do for years! I have spread Marmite to the entire world!"

Blake gasped. "You fiend!"

Just as Nora was closing in on Jaune, preparing to seal his doom, a lone figure appeared at the other end of the hall. "Step away from him, Nora!"

Nora whirled to see Velvet Scarlatina standing, defying her and her Marmite. "You! How did you escape? I had you sandwiched with the others!"

Velvet held out her hand, pointing her finger at the mad redhead. "You're not the only evil genius in this academy, Valkyrie! And while you may have briefly gotten the upper hand, my particular brand of villainy cannot be stopped or even stained by the likes of you!"

Nora roared in laughter at the bunny girl. "You can't stop me! No one can stop me! I wield all the infernal powers of Marmite, passed down to me by my master in the sunken city of R'lyeh! I have traversed the field of eyes and stormed the fortress of the Black Pharaoh, proving myself worthy of its unmatched power!"

"You can't hope to control its power, Nora! It will destroy you! No mortal can comprehend the threat it poses! It is for that very purpose I swore never to lay a finger on it!" But in the back of her mind, as Nora raved on about the power she believed she controlled, Velvet was working through her plan to rescue Jaune. She must be his!

Velvet stopped writing when she heard something make a thudding sound behind her. Fearing that Jaune would see her story she closed the notebook hastily, trapping the pencil within. She turned cautiously to see, not Jaune, but a book. A book had landed behind her on the ground. She glanced up to see where it might have come from, but the only open window on the building behind her was to team RWBY's room. She knew Blake and Ruby both loved to read, so she thought it odd that either of them would allow a book t be thrown away in such a manner. She reached down and picked up the small tome.

The cover read 'Ruby's Storybook'.

Velvet glanced back up at the window. Should she return the book? Perhaps, she thought, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to open it up first, see what was inside. No harm could come of it, surely. "Ruby's Storybook... I wonder what stories Ruby has come up with, then." Velvet Scarlatina opened the book, peering into the writings of a young girl, her classmate.

What met her eyes blew her mind.

Author's Notes: Remember the first chapter? That book Ruby was writing her own fairy tales in? That book has returned, and now Velvet has possession of it. What strange things could come out of this?

Also, remember, the Epic Rap War is still on. If you want to see your character appear in a future chapter of the Epic Rap War, or just of RubyRolled! in general, say so in a review or message me directly! If you don't want them rapping, or you just want them rapping, mention that too.
