"OUTRAGE!" Yang exploded into flames.
Her teammates just watched, blank looks on their faces.
The fire went out. Yang coughed to clear her throat. "Okay, let me try again."
The others just watched.
"OUTRAGE!" More fire, this time scorching their beds and setting the curtains on fire.
Blake waved her hand. "Forget it, Yang. You don't have the mental fortitude to cause a supernova."
Yang looked to Weiss for reassurance. "Come on, you believe me, right?"
Weiss sighed. "If I thought you were capable of going supernova, would I be standing here?"
Yang shook her head. "I keep telling you guys, it doesn't matter where you are. If I manage to go supernova, everyone will die anyway."
Weiss did not look intrigued. "Then why are we here? For that matter, why are we even trying to do this? What could possibly possess you to want to destroy everything alive on this planet?"
Yang scratched the back of her head, unable to come up with a good answer. "Uh... marmite?"
Ruby stepped closer, getting up on her tip toes to look in Yang's eyes. "Wait... possess... that's it! She's been possessed! Someone is controlling her mind to make her destroy the world!"
Blake gasped. "But who would do such a dastardly deed?"
Weiss crossed her arms. "Oh... I think we all know the answer to that."
Mission: Impossible theme plays
Weiss stood in front of the whiteboard, dusting herself off after shoving Yang into the closet. She uncapped a black marker and began drawing on the whiteboard as she explained. "Alright, there are three parts to the plan. They're all quite simple, but require the utmost concentration and skill. My part is to hang back in the hallway in case either of you two need backup, and then I can rush to assist where needed. Ruby's part involves knocking on our target's door and distracting her teammates so they do not see it coming." She looked to Ruby. "Do you have your lines down?"
Ruby saluted smartly (read: dumbly) and recited her lines. "I need the three of you to help me with some sparring in the library!"
"Perfect!" Weiss exclaimed proudly. "Now, Blake, this is your part." She revealed her whiteboard diagram, tracing her marker along the route she had designated 'Blake's path'. "You are to enter here, in our room, climb through the air ducts and make your way to the target's room. I have outlined the fastest and safest path for your part of the mission. There may be a few obstacles, but I have the utmost confidence in your abilities."
Blake narrowed her eyes at the whiteboard. "What are these... obstacles?"
Weiss explained, pointing out the various items on her map as she went. "First, you'll come across a fan that you'll have to disable. This may cause loss of air circulation throughout the school, so you will have to reactivate it after you're through. Then there will be a slight drop of around thirty meters, and something at the bottom. I say 'something' because the radiographic scan I took was unclear. It could be an intentionally set spike trap or just a rat's nest. Next, you'll have to traverse the leap of faith, which appears to have an invisible bridge but really doesn't, and then there's a zero gravity zone. Then, after battling the mini-minotaur, you'll be able to make your way through the gas chamber ventilation and into the elevator shaft. From there you'll be able to climb back up to the floor where the target's room is. Here there are only four traps: One motion-sensor explosive, a poison dart pressure plate, laser tripwires triggering an earthquake, and a massive rolling stone. Get past those, and it's straight on through the chompers. The sequence you need to get through successfully is 3-6-2-4-2-1-5-3-4-8-4-2-5-3-6-3-1-4. Remember that. Immediately proceeding, the shaft's size decreases by about twenty percent, so you'll have to squeeze, but you also want to get through that section very fast or you'll be torn to shreds by the temporal flux and spacial reformations that frequent the areas under Ozpin's bedroom. Finally, you'll be above the target. You can quickly swing in while Ruby is distracting the other three and grab Velvet, then drag her back through the way you came so we can interrogate her here."
Blake looked at the diagram, completely dumbfounded. "How in the name of Monty Oum am I supposed to be able to pull that off?"
Weiss put the cap back on the marker. "Well, we could just smash through the window and take her, but then my obstacle course goes to waste. Plus, it's raining out, and I don't want to risk you catching hypothermia."
Blake waved her hands desperately at Weiss. "Nope! Abort! Not doing it! I can't even remember that sequence! And... and... and there's... rats!"
Ruby looked over to Blake. "Why are you complaining? I got the hard part. I have to remember lines."
Weiss grumbled. "Fine... I'll think of some way to get in through the window. But... I want to do an obstacle course!"
Blake settled down. "You want someone to do your obstacle course that badly? Get Nora. She's smaller, so she'll actually fit in the air ducts."
Weiss looked up at the vent at the top of the room. "You mean you don't fit in there?"
Blake shook her head. "No."
Weiss looked between the entrance to the shaft, then to Blake, and back again. "But... you're head would definitely fit, and my father says that if a cat can fit it's head in a space, it can fit its whole body in."
Blake groaned, rolling her eyes. "Here we go with the cat thing again. Weiss, I'm not your pet."
Weiss eyed her suspiciously. "Of course not. Why would you say that? Anyone who has shared a room or even a mansion with a cat knows full well that a cat isn't a pet. It's a roommate." She reached over and petted Blake's head softly. "Now calm down."
Blake purred for a moment, then caught herself. She started growling. "Weiss. Your hand. Move it or lose it."
Author's Note: And with that, I will be scouring the reviews to see if I can find anything for the next chapter. Feel free to leave all new suggestions, and tune in next time to see... A wild Ami Riku appears, the R in team ZRCN!
Also, now I know more things about Pokemon, so expect that to feature a tad.
