Hey there! Pleased with this update though it's not too long. Hope you like it too, I might've skipped through dozens of possible subplots to move the story on, I hope you enjoy it!

Jason... alive and at camp half-blood? I sensed some godly intervention taking place here but I smiled brightly. This was wonderful! We could bring him back and everything would work itself out. Everyone would be so pleased, he was a hero here; one thing that was clear was how everyone at camp really looked up to him.

"Let's leave right away, I don't want to be here much longer," I said, excited at the idea of another quest.

Nico repositioned himself from where he laid on the floor to a sitting up position. "I don't think that'll solve all your problems instantly," he replied cautiously, unsure about my enthusiasm.

Obviously not but I wanted to see him again. Nico didn't know that we'd got on well, my excitement would seem odd if you weren't aware of how nice he'd been. Far better than Gwen or Octavian. "No problem, ready to leave?" That was all I said in reply however.

"I've only just got here! Give me some time to rest..." he said indignantly, before yawning.

"Of course." I sighed, and settled down, content to wait.

A few minutes later Nico was alert enough to inform me that Jason wasn't actually at the camp right now but on a quest, Nico hadn't actually seen him just yet though he was sure it was indeed Jason. I resisted the urge to make some scathing remark; we still planned to leave as soon as possible. Nothing else to do.

-

An hour later, after feeding Nico some ambrosia, we were getting up to leave. That's when it happened. A ghostly image of a handcuff appeared around one of my wrists - holding it in place. It was not solid, just an eerie pale green image of a chain connecting my wrist to the entrance of camp Jupiter. But I could feel it and it wouldn't let go of me.

As I stared at it, an ancient voice whispered in my ear. "Stay. Your destiny will soon become known to you."

It was a message from the gods. They had planned for Jason to appear there and I was not to interfere. I had to wait here lest they smite me and resurrect another girl whom was equally able. It was not clear what the gods were planning but it seemed I would indeed play a part. They'd displaced some important heroes for this so the enemy could only be very dangerous; it would be wise not to mess it all up.

The ghostly chain became invisible again but I sensed it still and wondered how long it would be before I could leave. The voice had said soon but it probably did not see the passage of time the same way mortals did. I sat down prepared to wait for another adventure to present itself to me.

Nico was staring at me. I told him to go and not to breathe a word of my presence to anyone nor to reveal Jason's location. The gods had a plan and it would be best to follow it. Nico didn't seem to like this.

"I won't say anything to anyone but I'm going to find out what's wrong," he'd said before disappearing into the misty shadows. He understood not to interfere but wasn't content just to wait.

Days passed, weeks turned to months and I waited. While I participated in camp games, I did not do anything particularly exciting, I simply didn't feel the need. My team was losing games now - everyone's spirits had declined since Jason's disappearance and the others were soon making fun of us. No use in retaliating, my cohort would not appreciate it with many of them still distrusting me.

Octavian sometimes talked to me, speculating ways he could use my notoriety to his advantage and I felt inclined to help, though not too much. I ended up teaching archery because I was simply the most skilled person they had and usually sat with the other archers at meals though I didn't really have any good friends.

Other campers had me pegged as a son of Apollo with none of his charm. That was a little irritating though it would be no use correcting them, what else could I say? I wasn't going to tell anyone who they really were. I occasionally ordered my hunting bird, Fudge, to peck them if they really annoyed me though.

I'd taught him to follow all my commands and he was useful, and nice company when I was guarding the gate alone. I'd realised eventually that monsters were reforming faster than ever and the job was far less peaceful than it'd began. It was a relief when another camper arrived that he was assigned to be my partner at the gate.

Frank Zhang, he was called. An aspiring archer whom I was Soon teaching some advanced techniques though some wanted him to be armed with a sword instead, as he had the build for it. We ignored them. Frank was surprisingly good company as he hadn't known Jason at all and had no reason not to trust me.

Nico visited a few more times and confirmed my suspicion. That the barriers of life and death were indeed weakening due to Thanatos being captured and the enemy had control of the doors of death. He also informed me of the giants and Gaia - they were the threat. Jason and his new friends were building a flying ship to come here and help unite the camps against this foe. They expected to find Percy Jackson here.

That had to be whom I was waiting for. Percy Jackson, so far the nicest hero I'd ever met and the one who had encouraged me to get to know others. Before, I probably wouldn't have acknowledged Jason's existence and that would've been a mistake. It was good to know there were still nice boys. And Frank was currently the closest I probably had to a friend right now. Gwen hadn't spoken to me in weeks.

Oh I did look forward to seeing him, I'd been at this camp for long enough with nothing happening. Except for an interesting number of monsters. I think I'd been here for so long that I'd gotten taller, so odd after being the same age for an eternity. More height was welcome of course, I hated being at a disadvantage due to my size.

Camp Jupiter was a nice enough place but I was becoming impatient, how long would the gods remain silent for? I'd been here for almost a year now and things were about the same, apart from increasing uncertainty and worry because everyone was aware that something was wrong. Octavian had clearly seen some frightening things about the future.

One day, we're guarding, me and Frank, casually discussing some of the more stupid rules that had to be followed when my sword warned me of danger. I immediately got out my bow, as did Frank who had long grown used to my foreknowledge though he didn't understand how.

Monsters appear so very often that I don't expect anything else. I was expecting for destiny to make itself known by the summer solstice, Nico had informed me that that was the day the ship was due to sail. Even if nothing were to happen, I hoped that Jason would arrive by the feast of Fortuna as Octavian seemed like the only option for Praetor. I wondered how annoyed he'd be about it, after all the work he'd done through the year to make himself the best candidate for the job.

It is then, when I'm simply not expecting it, that a familiar dark haired boy appears, holding a familiar old women in his hands, whilst being pursued by a pair of flying gorgons. I can't help but pause for a moment and smile brightly before unleashing a volley of arrows.

That's it! What did you think? Sorry it took so long to get all the background out of the way!

Please do leave a review, how do you think the meeting will go?
