Chapter 43: Eden: Revolt
After having their ass dragged back to the middle of Angel Land, Pepper wanted to check up on Chobi and the kid she saved before the other royal bodyguards made it back to the palace. Rosalina used her magic to teleport the fire angel toward the Comet Observatory. It was here did she see that the Queen of the Galaxy was treating the platinum angel. His wings were slowly being put back into place and he was coming to.
"How is he Rosalina?"
Rosalina observed the platinum angel with a puzzled look. He was different from the other angels having an identical aura to the Gods and Goddesses. She must have felt that way because of the chaos around her.
"He's going to be okay. I think you talking to him will make things better."
"That's what I plan on doing."
Rosalina left the bedroom forcing the Luma to come with her. Pepper sat on the chair next to the platinum angel as he slowly woke up.
"Uh…where…am I?"
"In a safe place." The fire angel replied calmly as she smiled. "You don't have to be alarmed."
It was then did he sit up and try to move. Pepper frowned as she pushed him down. "Stay down! You're not healed yet!"
"…I have to go back out there…" He mumbled. "I have to help everyone…if I don't…they'll…"
Pepper shook her head in annoyance at how stubborn this kid was. He was like Pit but worse.
"Don't worry about it. I got help from below and the royal bodyguards are on their way to kicking ass just like during the war with Medusa."
"Me…dusa…"
The boy continued to rest, as he was deep in thought. Pepper got a good look at his face. Without the bandana that was around his eyes, he looked very young and attractive. He would probably be a potential love interest if the writer didn't give one for Pepper already to suit the writer's taste. That was disappointing since this kid was eye candy.
"What's your name kid?" Pepper questioned acting strangely nice for a change."
"Niels Platinum…"
"Is that a Danish name?" Pepper asked. "Because I cannot pronounce your first name!"
"…Just call me Platinum."
"Uh…that name doesn't suit you either."
"Hey that's the name I was given!" The boy shouted as he sat up.
"Hmm…I'll just give you a random name and stick with it. From now on, you'll be known as Ginger!"
"That is not my name ma'am!"
"Hmm…Ginger…yes that has a good ring to it."
Ginger sighed in defeat as he rested his head against the pillow. "…What is your name?"
"Pepper Padoga, why?"
"…I just wanted to know…"
Pepper chuckled as she rested her hand on the other's forehead. "Well Ginger, get well soon so you can see Angel Land when us royal bodyguards take it back."
The platinum angel blushed at the contact. Pepper didn't seem to notice and continued to sit by his side until the other royal bodyguards called her out. Little did Pepper know, she caught the eye of another unwanted suitor.
"Ian, what the hell are you doing out?!"
Pepper was surprised to see Ian and Wright outside fending off demons. They weren't alone either. Fuyumi and Maggie were there to help them out. Even Nina who was in no condition to help got out of the hideout and used her magic to burn, freeze, electrocute or drown demons.
"This is our Angel Land!" Maggie declared. "We're taking it back!"
"Y-Yeah…" Wright mumbled. "This is…wrong…these demons can't get away with this."
"I heard from someone," Ian continued giving a serious expression to Pepper, "that big brother was captured. I'm mad now!"
"Valerie was…"
"Plus…" Ian smirked when he said this. "I managed to convince the Angel Assembly to fight."
The royal bodyguards were surprised by this news. They wanted to know why a bunch of stuck up angels were finally stepping down and going to kick ass with them.
"Ian, your connections sometimes…" Mcenche growled not being able to impress Pepper in the end.
"Hey, whose the kid?!" Roger asked pointing to a boy that was standing close to Wright. It was the same boy that Isaak saved from Li and the demons. He was carrying a rose staff that functioned as a sniper. It looked heavy for him to carry but he could use it.
"The kid wants to join in and fight for our home." Ian explained happily. "Isn't it amazing? Even little boys are going to stand up and fight."
"I don't know…" Sun-Wong muttered. "This is dangerous stuff…"
"But Sun-Wong," Himeno began. "We fought Medusa as kids…it might not have ended well, but we still fought wars as children. We're all adults now, but we won't be able to look after him."
"Uh…"
"Umm…" The boy began walking up to the royal bodyguards. "I-I may be a nuisance in battle…but I know some magic…I-I won't let you down."
The girls were won over by his adorable facial expression. The boys just rolled their eyes and sighed in defeat.
"What's your name kid?" Mcenche asked as he eyed him.
"I'm Rita…" The young angel replied shyly. "I'm only an orphan but…"
"Pepper, don't you dare!" Mcenche shouted but it was too late.
"I'm adopting you when this war is over."
In other words, Rita might end up being a future royal bodyguard if he proved himself now. Rita's eyes lit up as he jumped in joy. "Thank you Pepper! Chị gái là tuyệt vời."
There were other angels that were starting to come out and fight the demons. Whatever Ian told the angels, it was good because that means Ike's army and the Smashers wouldn't be alone in the battle anymore. Pepper feared that her dad would try to get involved when he was sickly.
"Alright everyone, make way!" Pepper announced as the angels in the area were blasting through the demons to make it to the palace door. "Anyone who wants to deal with the royal bodyguards, step right up!"
"Pepper, you might want to look out…" Aqua said simply as a demon came her way at high speed.
"Holy shi-"
The other royal bodyguards couldn't react in time. Another angel did though. Like the wind, the angel was able to punch the demon away. The punch was as fast as bullet time that the demon was literally destroyed.
"G-Ginger!" Pepper called out. "G-Get back to the Comet Observatory!"
"Ginger?"
The platinum angel had bandages wrapped around his body. Even though his wings looked crooked, he was still able to fly and punch the demons in the face. He was already sweating just to make it to the battlefield.
"I want to help…" He began. "I'm going to fight for Angel Land."
Roger muttered something about how kids needed to stay off the battlefield and Pepper thought the same thing for a different reason.
"You're injured kid." She told him. "You'll be weighing us down."
"…Please let me prove myself to you guys!"
The way Ginger said those words, it was obvious what he was really after. Pepper should have rejected him right there, but it would be hypocritical if she turned the platinum angel down but not Rita. She turned to the royal bodyguards. "What should we do?"
"I don't care." Aqua said simply.
"He looks like he could collapse at any moment." Himeno admitted. "If he goes in, he might not make it out."
"He's a kid that shouldn't be here." Roger declared.
"No." Mcenche stated not wanting to admit that he had this feeling in his heart when he looked at the way Ginger was staring at the fire angel.
Sun-Wong deeply thought about his answer before turning to Ginger. "Why do you want to prove yourself?"
"…You guys saved my life. I want to repay it now! What's wrong with that?"
"…Okay…you can come as long as don't slow down."
The platinum angel perked up as he spread his wings. "Yes! You can count on it!"
The other royal bodyguards looked at Sun-Wong before sighing in defeat. First it was Pit and Li he let in and lost his Captain position to and now he's allowing two kids to tag along. History does repeat itself.
The angels made their way back to the capital of Angel Land. This was where most of the fighting was going on. It didn't take a genius to notice that everyone was getting tired. The Pokémon trainers had to call their Pokémon back as they could no longer attack without getting harmed. Not wanting to risk getting them killed, their mons went back to their balls. Ike's army was wearing thin and their weapons might break if they kept this up. The more hyperactive members were at their limit particularly Mia and Boyd. After charging through the enemies for the majority of the fight, their weapons were getting weary and the demons hit them more easily.
Everyone was exhausted at this point and while the demons were starting to retreat to the capital of Skyworld after all the barriers were broken in the other regions, the fighters would not be able to participate in the final battle unless they wanted to die.
"Alright everyone! We angels will take it from here!" The fire angel declared to the fighters. They didn't hear her with all the fighting going on.
"Shall I?" Ian asked her as he put a set of headphones on his ear and started to chant a musical spell.
"Thanks. ALRIGHT EVERYONE!" Her voice was projected all over Skyworld now to the point that the flying demons started to fall to the ground making them easier targets. "US ANGELS WILL TAKE IT FROM HERE!"
"Too loud…" Mcenche grumbled.
It's not like the army could just stop what they were doing when there were still demons to be shot down. Pepper made sure this wouldn't be a deal though. Given how she used the least amount of energy, she pointed in a direction where demons were flying overhead and shot fire from her fingertips. Like a laser beam, a trail of fire was shot and incinerated the demons that were in the sky. She then pointed in the opposite direction where there were more fliers and fried them.
The other angels would follow suit though. Aqua formed a sniper rifle from her water magic to snipe the demons that were circling around the Pokémon trainers. Mcenche joined suit with Pepper pointing his sword in the direction of demons and firing ice shots at them. They were either burned or frozen at this rate.
Sun-Wong focused more on the ground enemies taking his pole staff and extending it. The demons that were closer to the healers were tossed to the side with a mighty swing. Roger charging them with his sword and ramming them in the guts followed this.
Himeno assisted the Smashers with her fan. Twirling around in the air, she created a tornado from the wind current she generated. The pink haired angel made sure to not blow her allies away. The demons felt the pressure coming from the wind and attempted to hold on tight but at this rate, their chances were ruined. Ginger was unaffected by the wind currents and with blinding speed punched the demons into next week. Rita stayed behind Himeno chanting a magic spell. The demons sent flying were suddenly impaled with something sharp. One could see that a vine grew out of the clouds despite no living life force. The thorns on the vines were dangerously sharp that if anyone rammed into it with a high acceleration, they would meet their doom quickly.
Then the other angels who literally blasted them away with their magic…it made everyone wonder if the angels came together like this, then maybe the demons wouldn't have been able to do a takeover of their home. Snake may have been doing the least amount of killing to avoid wasting his energy but he observed that the angels weren't synchronized.
Snake stopped in front of Pepper and Sun-Wong who were close to the entrance of the palace now. He needed to confirm something.
"You angels aren't that organized. Where are your big guns?"
Sun-Wong frowned. "No idea! I asked Cherubs to search archangels. They're not here…"
"The Angel Assembly is probably hiding." Pepper snarked. "Though they might be fighting the court room and are held up in there that they can't help. Valerie was the lucky one…"
Snake could not believe these angels. The Smashers might not have been involved if the angels united against one threat.
Eventually, all the angels came to the front of the palace with a large portion of the demons in Eden eliminated. Besides Rita, the rest of the angels didn't break a sweat.
"Rita, you could always go back on the ship." Himeno urged the little boy.
"No…I'm fine…just used a little too much magic…"
"Don't waste anymore kid." Roger grumbled. "Why aren't we in the palace yet?"
The angels were all looking at something. Roger turned around and looked up.
"What the fuck?"
"Lived…" The royal bodyguards growled in annoyance.
Well yeah Dark Pit was on the enemy side so they should have seen this coming. The black angel put a lock on the palace preventing access from the outside. Even if the barrier was destroyed one would need to ring the bell at the very top, pick the lock at the door and then destroy it. It has to be done in rapid succession otherwise the door would not open.
What drove someone like Pepper insane was that it required patience and she was far from that. This type of lock is for someone as specific as the angel twins. Pit would shoot while Dark Pit would pick the lock (he was a good thief as a child). The door would end up falling on its own if they teamed up and when they snuck into the palace after being lectured by Palutena or avoiding Medusa, the adults made sure to never allow this lock in place again.
"Well, I guess it's the end of the road here." The ice angel snarked. "I'm going back on the ship now. Call me when the war is over."
Aqua grabbed at Mcenche's collar when he tried to leave the group causing him to yelp at the whiplash he got with her tight grip.
"Well, we need an archer and a thief." Himeno mumbled. "Aqua, can you snipe? Pepper?"
"negative." Aqua mumbled. "you hit it with an arrow, not a staff."
"Himeno, do you think I have the patience to work with that lock?!"
"…Sun-Wong, do you have any suggestions?"
The earth angel glanced at the other soldiers who were finishing up the demons. Looking at the archers, there were only two of them in Ike's army…and both of them apparently faced difficulty according to Roger. Shinon who could easily make the shot probably wouldn't be able to do it now and Rolf was too short so his aim would be slightly off. Perfection was needed no matter how many tries were taken. They also didn't have all the time in the world.
As for thieves, the only one that appeared competent was the quiet one who assassinated demons with one hit. His name was Volke and apparently was paid to come aboard the Comic Observatory to get the mission done. However, like the archers, he was at his limit. Perhaps Pepper should have prepared for this.
"No…"
"Great now we have to ask Rosalina?"
"Pepper, you should have thought about this lock when we were attacked."
"Oh, go fuck yourself Mcenche! None of us expected Li to be part of the group."
"Now we got to ask another Goddess to help in our affairs…"
"Hey! With how Rosalina is, she'll be in the next Smash for her help!"
"Did someone call me?"
Rosalina had a nasty habit of being able to teleport from one location to another. If she did that during a few of the difficult matches, maybe there wouldn't have been any casualties, but of course she had to keep the Comet Observatory in orbit (the last time she left, Bowser was able to mess it up).
"Rosalina, we need an archer and a thief!" Pepper demanded almost immediately. "One that hasn't exhausted themselves."
"If you weren't so impatient, the lock would be open by now…" Mcenche grumbled.
"Shut up! Need another Fire Emblem reprehensive! Anyone else here?"
Well Marth would have been the first to volunteer if he wasn't out of her hearing range (or assisting the other fighters like Link who was at his limit after that previous battle). Fortunately Shadow and Lyndis were at the front so the green haired woman would be the one they looked at.
"…I have a suggestion."
The fire angel perked her ear as she rushed over to her. "Oh! Who? Who? Who? Don't know anyone from your world. Need to play your game!"
Lyn ended up going over to Rosalina and whispering the names to the Queen of Cosmos.
"Just tell them it's urgent and you were sent by me."
"I might use force if they say no though."
"No, you won't have too…hopefully…"
Pepper stepped in between the two ladies demanding who they would be. Rosalina just chuckled as she waved her wand and teleported away. It wasn't the Comet Observatory however and it was implied that she was going straight to that universe without the need of a Space Ship. Either she was that powerful or Merlon was helping her in the end. Regardless, everyone would need to wait for Rosalina to return to Pepper's annoyance of having to anticipate who is going to assist them.
After Rosalina extended her power to another portion of the galaxy Rosalina came back with a rather calm smile on her face despite the situation.
"I have brought the men requested." She hummed. "It took a while to convince them that their Princess needed help."
"I'm not…"
"You are." Shadow interrupted with a snark.
"Oh be quiet. Shadow, we will never speak of this again when all is said and done."
"Fine Princess."
Pepper was excited though. Who was it going to be? Will they be attractive like Shinon and Volke were or would they be ugly. Their appearance shouldn't matter if they were incompetent.
"…I would like to introduce my comrades to you angels and everyone if they were paying attention." Lyn snarked.
Rosalina apparently had fun with them though as one of the guys she brought along was shaken up and clinging to the other guy. The archer appeared to be incredibly youthful…along with the thief who was aggravated with the situation they were thrown in. They probably had more important things to do and here they were in heaven…or hell given the state Angel Land was in by this mysterious tall woman who could levitate them and bring them along for a wild ride.
"Matthew, Will, I'm sorry I called you out like this."
"Lyn…are we dead?" The thief ended up asking in a very sarcastic tone. "One minute I'm on the ground and now I'm standing on the clouds."
Pepper was getting a good look at the two hunks. The thief was a brunette and wore a dashing red cape. His green attire complimented his outfit. The archer in comparison appeared dorky but gave off a cheerful vibe…one that Pepper missed in someone dear to her. But that wasn't as important as going gaga over the thief.
"No, you're not dead but we might all be without your help."
"Oh really?"
"T-Then why am I here?" The archer asked.
"We need your help too."
"We?"
Without warning, the fire angel crept up in front of Matthew. She didn't hesitate to grab at his cape and then look right under it. She wanted to examine every part of his body and while the thief would normally be flattered, with everything that has happened within the span of a couple of minutes, being touched by some unknown woman was not welcomed in his book.
"Hey! Get your hands off my cape!"
"This fabric, this body…the face…you're perfect husband material…" Pepper moaned as she finished with giving him a bear hug. "Mine, mine, mine."
The royal bodyguards either shook their heads in annoyance or faced palmed at the embarrassing sight Pepper was giving them. Rita just tilted his head in confusion while Ginger glared daggers at the human.
This was all made worse by a yelp in the background. One could see Mewtwo grabbing his head in pain. How foolish was it to read the fire angel's mind and get thought bubbles of dark and dirty intentions. No longer would he attempt to read the angel's here in Skyworld if they're all creepy!
"Explain to them what to do." Lyn told the angels.
Rosalina already explained it the first time but the angels needed to repeat it again. Will needed to use his archer skills to ring the bell and almost immediately afterward, the lock had to be picked and destroyed. Easy enough right?
Wrong.
Even if Matthew looked at the lock and could do it in a couple of seconds, Will was the one that was slowing everyone down. He was nervous just being above the clouds and it affected his aim. This was why he was given the brave bow. He would have multiple chances to shoot the bell from the distance he was at. The first time he missed the bell, it wasn't a big deal. The justification was that the pressure was put on him.
He then missed the second time…and then the third time…and he kept missing. Shadow chuckled at Lyn.
"So this is your best archer from your world?"
"Silence Shadow…Will, are you okay?"
"…It's hard to hit." He admitted. "If it was just the bell itself…it shouldn't be a problem…but I'm supposed to hit the dead center to make it ring, right?"
"Yeah, the Captain hits easily." Sun-Wong explained.
"Will, you need to focus."
"I usually am but…I'm still…"
Rosalina giggled as she walked over to the archer and helped him raise his bow. "You need to be one with the bow now. Clear your mind and focus on the small target. Once you have it in your sight, fire."
Will felt his cheeks turning red. She didn't need to tell him what he already knew. He was Lyn's best archer after all. He just needed to calm down…that was it. However, squinting his eyes, he could see the small circle on the bell better. He wasn't going to miss and be laughed at again. Shinon was already mocking him (curse him having front row seats and him complaining about how he's not even holding the bow correctly) and the other young archer was asking if he should do it. This time, he fired the arrow and it hit the bell causing it to make a wonderful chime that rang through the area. At the same time, Matthew picked the rock and crushed it between his hands. Despite the lock's appearance, it was very fragile and could easily break. Pepper was more impressed with how good Matthew was with his hands rather than Will finally hitting the target.
"Wow…amazing…" Pepper mumbled seeing the brunette smile at his success. "How did you do it?"
"Patience is a virtue." He hummed. "Hope there is something to steal in there."
"Oh yes…like my heart…"
"Stop Pepper." Mcenche growled pulling on her ear. "We have other problems now."
Even when the bell was rung and the lock was picked and destroyed, what ended up being revealed was a door with a sword symbol on it. This was the last line of defense before getting inside. Ginger was the only one that didn't seem to be aware what the door represented while to the other angels, it was obvious what they needed to do next to get inside the palace.
"…So how are we going to break the door?" The ice angel questioned. "If we attack the door, then we're going to lose our powers when we get inside."
"Leave it to me!" Ginger announced rolling his sleeves. "I'll crumble this door!"
"No…if you do that, then you'll be useless." Mcenche told him in a mocking tone. "We need someone good with a sword to destroy it. No, I'm not doing it so I can be useful during the final assault. We're going to either let a human or that elf handle it."
"You do realize that's the incorrect term, right?" Himeno asked.
Mcenche just rolled his eyes. He got his point across though, right?
Ginger glanced down toward his fist. Frowning at the realization this was not his moment to shine, he was forced to step back…preparing to punch the door regardless because he was a hero and heroes wouldn't be affected by this. "Uh huh…sure…let me just…"
There was a pause though before the platinum angel could even get ready to punch the door. Maybe the reason everyone wasn't moving was because of a new face that Rosalina did not bring. Whoever he was, he was giving off an extraordinary aura. Mist finished healing her comrades looked up and gasped.
"Ike!"
Remember those movies where the hero always shows up in the nick of time? That was Ike with Ragnell in his hands. He wasn't wearing his outfit that he wore during Smash Brothers. He switched back to his Lord outfit. He was ready to take arms again.
The Smashers and the Crimean Army stared at Ike in awe as he immediately charged the door without hesitation. With a few clean cuts, he destroyed the door without breaking a sweat. Whatever draining power the door would have had to the mercenary leader had no effect. The dark aura swerved around Ike but the bluenette just shrugged it off with his own battle aura. The last line of defense didn't stand a chance.
"Well, it looks like the Hero of Tellius made it…" Midna snickered seeing the leader in all of his glory.
"Ike!" Mist called out as she rushed over to him. Titania was right behind her.
"Hey…sorry I'm late…" Ike apologized as his younger sister jumped into his arms. "I had things to attend to."
"We were wondering where you went." Titania told him. "You weren't with the group despite Queen Midna saying you would be here."
"…Midna?"
The little imp just sat on Zelda's shoulder and waved from a distance. Honestly, that imp was nothing but trouble.
Shinon was probably the only person in heaven that did not want Ike to be there. Here he was suffering because of this lunatic and Ike just comes in without a care in the world and looking like his father every day.
"And the asshole is back…"
"Oh come on Shinon! Just admit you're happy our faithful leader is back after all of this time stronger than ever!"
"…Whatever…"
Ike kept walking toward the angels though. They were still dazzled by his appearance particularly Ginger who loved the radiant aura that Ike was giving off. It really was registering in his mind that everyone here fighting for the Goddess of Light was a hero in some shape or form.
"…I finished my training." Ike spoke to the angels. Pepper pushed Sun-Wong in front of her because she wasn't fit to be hearing this. "…I know what happened with you angels…and I know what an Amail is…"
Immediately the angels reacted negatively. No one else would know but…
"Because of his demon blood…this happened…"
Pepper shook her head. "No…the definition of the Amail you have is wrong. An Amail is just-"
Aqua immediately covered Pepper's mouth so Ike could continue.
"I was a fool…I rejected Pit for what he was instead of thinking about what happened. This happened because of me…"
"I don't really think so…" Mcenche murmured to himself. "The Captain probably would have done this anyway…"
"I lost someone very important to me because I was too late…now…I need to save someone I have developed a wonderful bond with…otherwise…I'm not fit to be a hero…" Ike turned around to his army and Smasher friends. "Everyone, I am sorry for being late. You must all be tired. I'm not good with speeches, but I'll make this quick. We are in the final stretch. We will not let our comrade be used for evil. We will defeat Tsusuki and reclaim what we have lost. I have failed as a friend and leader to you all for disappearing when you all needed me the most. I will not fail you again. That's why I ask for you to join in for one more battle. A battle to end all battles!"
Oscar wanted to cover his ears hearing Kieran make a battle cry first out of everyone there. He was competing with Captain Falcon and Little Mac over who could chant the loudest but it was apparent that everyone agreed to assist the hero. Ike smiled seeing the Greil Mercenaries specifically continuing to side with him even though he abandoned them to get revenge when Soren was killed.
Pit…I will save you…
Snarky banter aside, the royal bodyguards finally decided on the final party to take inside the Goddess palace. Everyone else would have to hold the fort for anymore demons that might be summoned by Tsusuki.
This left the party being the royal bodyguards along with Ginger and Rita (as they refused to leave the angels), Ike, Sonic (who wanted to return the favor for Pit after he risked his life to save him), Falco, Wolf (who both need to find Fox), Shadow, Amy, Marth, Lyn, Will and Matthew. A huge party was needed to search all the rooms and to separate into a small group that would prevent any ambushes. Ash wanted to come along, but his injuries prevented him from being able to stand with the group. He desired to save Pit as much as Sonic and Ike, but Rosalina would be the one to look after his injuries. In his place though, Silver and that spider girl Arachne was added to the party. Ian wanted to come, but Pepper had to pull him on the sidelines and explain to him why he had to stay outside.
"Ian, I'll save your brother, so don't worry."
"…I'm just…worried that something happened to him…"
"Nah, he's tough no matter how girly he looks. He'll be fine. So stay out here and help the others with your defensive magic. Your barriers are great and since you haven't been fighting until now, you'll be able to hold it until we finish."
Ian just sighed at Pepper's words as he was forced to give in and go back to Wright.
At the same time, Lyn was reassuring Marth that Roy would be okay. Now that Ike was back and they had more allies ready to go, the redhead would finally be saved.
"Why are you so certain he'll be okay?" Marth asked. "He might be dead by the time we make it in there…"
"Trust me. As his guardian, I should know that he would be fine."
Marth gave the green haired woman a questionable look.
"Come again?"
"Almost sounds like you're his mother…" The black hedgehog growled.
The idea caused Marth to blush but Lyn only laughed.
"No, I'm too young to be Roy's mother…" She smiled sadly at the thought though as if she was remembering something heartbreaking.
"…T-Then who is Roy's mother if it's not you?"
"It's…"
"doesn't matter."
The water angel usually wasn't someone to jump into a conversation but she needed to make something clear to the prince given he still wasn't informed.
"Lived's magic would only allow him to take over half breeds. he can't possess anyone else. if he can possess this Roy person, then chances are he is a half breed."
"H-Huh? R-Really?"
"Well yes...Roy isn't all human." Lyn admitted. "His mother is…"
"we should leave." Aqua interrupted again looking over her shoulder. "your thief won't have his private parts the longer we leave him with Pepper."
Looking to where the water angel was staring at, the fire angel was clinging herself to Matthew. He obviously didn't want to be part of the rescue team with a fire angel like Pepper creeping on him. He could joke as much as he wanted about being attractive but this type of attention at an apparent desperate time was not appreciated.
"It's Sonic and Amy all over again…" Shadow mumbled taking the back of the group once everyone went in. He wasn't going to tell anyone how tired he was. As the Ultimate Lifeform, he will fulfill Maria's wish and keep the peace starting with getting rid of the demons from Heaven.
Me: Done with 6436 words. Yes everyone, the chapter is finally here. After all that time, Ike is finally back from behind that damn door to kick some ass (and I love how I take a jab at myself for calling Link an elf)! Notes!
1. Ginger and Rita join the royal bodyguards in this chapter of this particular story (so the way they actually join is different of course compared to how I explained how Ginger kind of forced himself in my official headcanon while Rita was taken in by Palutena and watched over by Pepper). Still roles are minor though but they have to achieve something here to be royal bodyguards at the end. I still like the set up in Alluring Messenger Sinless Accuser where they're all already there and established with all the angels with different backstories than shown here.
2. What Rita said in Vietnamese was "My sister is amazing". Honestly, I'm still trying to figure out why I made his nationality Vietnamese and Japanese when one of his parent's is Greek…
3. The Angel Assembly is held up in Evangelion. Even if Ian asked for their help, they won't get back up until later. And I think the archangels are helping the humans so they can't show up now (plus Michael is a one-man army).
4. I would like to think that Rosalina was so powerful that she's holding herself back to prevent herself from losing her powers because of what Bowser did in Galaxy.
5. When I was playing Blazing Sword, I couldn't decide on who I would crush on. I liked Will and Matthew equally but I think for this story I went with Matthew because he's a thief like Pepper is. I apologize for Will's incompetence though.
6. The definition of Amail has changed over time. This can only work because the one who explains what an Amail is Dark Pit and Pit who thinks about it to himself. Li doesn't actually know what an Amail is from what Pepper is implying so what Ike got is incorrect. Like you can easily infer from how Li explained it but its more simpler than a "1/3" blood that sounds too Mary Sue like for me.
7. Basically in this story, Eliwood/Ninian is canon (even if I prefer Eliwood with someone else) because it allows Li a limit on who he can possess (anything that is considered a half breed) and allows Lyn's love life to remain ambiguous and while I still am shipping her with Shadow in this fic by not having her be with Eliwood, I don't have to worry about sinking the pairing.
I'm still surprised that I predicted Rosalina, Midna and Palutena way back…not too much though in retrospect. Rosalina was always on my mind as playable when I wrote that chapter where Pepper gets help from her. Midna was just something I wish and as much as I kept saying the Goddess would never stoop so low, she came to mind if Medusa didn't come back. I'm also praying for Isaac (since Saki got deconfirmed)…and it's funny how Little Mac has a huge role in the Sandalphon chapter…
That's it. Reviews are appreciated. Pray to Palutena that I'm on fire after this chapter to finish on time. Ja ne!
