Chapter 9: A detour
We flew over the ocean to see a … pink house on a remote island. We hopped off Kintoun. I carried the bedding and clothing. We tried to call for him but he didn't answer. I set down our stuff on the porch so not to get it as dirty. We walked to the window and looked in. He was watching some kind of exercise program. We climbed through the window to see why he didn't hear us earlier. We both inhaled, and yelled,
"Grandpa!"
He was startled to say the least but that isn't my concern. He probably forgot about his promised training! We giggled at his face. He turned to us in surprise.
"o-oh it's you two! Don't scare me like that!"
"We came for our training Grandpa!" piped up Goku.
"W-wait a minute! Just wait a minute."
We just stood there as he spoke along to the people in the TV. I've never seen the show, so I didn't care too much in what Master did. I felt hunger gnaw at my stomach; I could hear Goku's stomach too. Goku was the one to 'ask' for food. I kept silent so I could get some too.
Master only pointed to the refrigerator. When we went to it, we started to eat the contents in it until it was empty. I stood when I was full and Goku eating the rest.
That was when I smelt it, copper and spice. I could always smell it before it came. It was that time. It turned to Goku. He was slightly dazed. I sighed.
'I need to learn more of why I bleed every month. I know! Bulma is a girl, so I can ask her. I called over my shoulder to Goku while I went outside.
"Goku, I'm going to use Kintoun for a while. I'll be gone for a couple of days Master!"
"Okay!"
"Alright, alright, just be back soon! Hehe one two, one two …"
I called for the cloud and hopped on.
"Take me to West City please!"
It shot off over the sea.

I looked down upon the ever busy city. I lead the cloud to the side walk. I got a few stares, but I didn't pay attention. I looked around to see if I could spot her within the area, no dice. I sighed.
I looked again and stepped up to a lady.
"Um, excuse me, Can you point to the direction of the nearest police man please."
"Oh uh just go over there down the street and around the corner and you should see him, if he is still there."
I smiled. "Thank you!"
I followed the woman's directions and found him. He had on the standard uniform, nice and crisp, and has grey haired mustached man.
"Um, excuse Mr. Police Man; I have a question to ask."
"Oh, Hello there young lady, what can I do for you?"
"Uh, I'm looking for a friend of mine. She said she lived in West City but didn't exactly say where in West City she lived in."
"Oh, well, that shouldn't be such a problem. Just tell me her name and description, and I'll help you find her."
"Her name is Bulma, uh, she didn't give me her last name. Hm, she has shoulder length light blue hair that is usually in a braid and she is a few inches shorter than me."
The Police man sputtered a bit and said she is the daughter of Hoi-Poi capsules company head and inventor. I raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Well, she surely didn't tell me or my brother that. *sigh* I guess I'll ask her about it later. Thank you, may I have her address."
"Now wait a moment there young lady I just can't say things like that to a complete stranger."
I thought about it for a minute and suggested that he could come with me if he doubted my relation with Bulma. He hesitantly nodded, and we both got on his bike. It was fast but not as fast as the Kintoun.
We got to a large mansion with branching houses. I openly gaped at the sheer size of her home while the police man rang the buzzer. I heard Bulma's voice since Summer vacation hasn't ended yet.
"Hello, Bulma speaking, what is it?"
I moved over to the intercom and spoke into the mic,
"Hi Bulma, may I come in?"
"Kagome? Is that you? Oh my god it is! Hold on a sec! I'm coming down!"
The com ended and I turned to the police man and did a closed eye smile with a victory sign. I was suddenly barreled onto by Bulma in a bear hug. My arms instinctively encircled Bulma as she hugged me. I smiled and hugged back.
"Hey there Bulma, how've you been?"
"Oh I've been good, board out of my mind, but good. I didn't expect you to coming to visit so soon."
We bid good-bye to the baffled police man. We entered and she took me to her room. We sat and made pleasantries. I got to the question I want to ask.
"Say, Bulma can I stay here for a few days?"
"Yeah sure, why?"
I explained what happens every month and I wasn't given must information on it from my grandpa. She just shook her head and to follow her. She explained it, thoroughly. I understood it, but it still baffled me.
With that out of the way, I explored the house a bit. It was the largest house I have ever been in. I did run into Bulma's parents in the garden. They were nice.
I stumbled into the gym to find Yamucha lifting weights on a bench press. I could smell his sweat from here. I walked over to inspect to metal weights he was lifting. As soon as he saw my face he lost grip on the weight and I thumped on him. He struggled to lift it off of him. I went behind his head and lifted it with ease.
He sat up, gasping for breath. I placed the bar on the designated spot. I turned back to him to see if he was injured.
"Hey, you alright there Yamucha?"
"U-uh Kagome! Yeah I-I'm alright. Uh long time no see! Ahaha"
I wondered what was so funny but laughed softly along with him. I looked around the room to see most of the stuff is new. I didn't notice Yamucha's staring until I turned back to him. I looked behind me to see if there was anyone behind me, none.
"Is there something on my face?"
He seems to catch himself and blushed.
"Ah sorry! So how've you been?"
"Good, though I'm iching for something to do. Want to spare?"
He nodded and I smiled brightly. He blushed a little bit more. We went outside in the yard to fight. I got into my customary stance. Yamucha lunged first. We danced the art of fighting for an hour before my stomach rumbled loudly. That caught me off guard and Yamucha used it to pin me down. I struggled in his hold but it was solid. I sighed and relaxed. I smiled.
"Okay, I give. That was a great spare!"
He didn't move. My smiled lessened as I looked at him. He has this dazed look in his eyes. That was when I smelled the stronger scent of spice. I blushed.
'Oh, crap'
His hold had slackened so I could throw him off and I high tailed it to Bulma's room before the cramps set in. It's going to be a long while for the next few days.
