You're Not Alone

Disclaimer: I do not own Super Smash Brothers Brawl or any of the characters. I only own Sun-Wong, Isaak, Himeno, Roger, Aqua, Mcenche, Pepper (me), Li, Abbigale, Queen Neptune, Prince Pluto, Emperor Apollo, Queen Hinata, Queen Zoe, Prince Henry, Queen Crystal, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Nina and the little bat Hoshi-Tsuki but not who he is. Zelina and Sao belong to Zelina56. I also own Fuyumi, Ian, Wright, Arachne, the Angel Assembly and the archangels.

Summary: Ike struggles to break Pit from Tsusuki's spell. In the meantime the royal bodyguards distract Tsusuki to prevent his interference and Ginger and Rita work together to free Sonic from his binds.

Me: And the first part of the final battle begins. This chapter for me was the hardest to write because of how so much is going on at once. Enjoy the chapter.

Chapter 46: You're Not Alone

Tabuu wasn't a dumb villain despite his rather pathetic rant against the angels. Once the royal bodyguards came into the room, he used his powerful magic that he was draining from the blue hedgehog to create a barrier that prevented anybody else from coming in, so even if the other Smashers caught up, they wouldn't be able to interfere. The purple angel had to pull Ginger and Rita out of the barrier so they wouldn't be stupid and get themselves into the battle despite Ginger's complaints of wanting to join the battle. Kaguju wasn't strong enough to destroy the barrier at this moment so all he could do was bide his time and sit back. This sucked for the purple angel because if he had the power, he could just blast Palutena out of the mirror and she could take care of everything, but the mirror could only be shattered by a powerful concentrated magic. Something someone like that old hag could do…

It was a shame that Valerie was too slow and was kept out of the barrier. No matter how fast he healed from the damage and energy drainage, he still wasn't that bright if he crashed into the barrier. The purple haired angel couldn't help but chuckle seeing him slide down the barrier.

"Maybe you should have stayed with everyone else."

"You fucking kidding me…" Valerie growled. "I'll break this damn barrier here…"

"But you didn't even notice…"

Li prepared to fight for Tabuu's side but was stopped by Isaak who stood in his way from attacking Ike or the other angels.

"Li-Li, snap out of it!" Isaak shouted. "You don't need to serve him now zat we're here!"

"Isaak…" The dark angel mumbled as he got his Masamune out and pointed it toward the blonde. "Move."

"No…" Isaak mumbled as he got out his guns. "I won't kill you…but I won't let you interfere with saving the Captain. I'll save you now so Tabuu won't have you!"

"…Tch…"

The bluenette charged the white angel during the two trading dialogue with each other. No words needed to be exchanged to an angel without a soul. The other royal bodyguards turned their weapons toward Tabuu amused at the display the angels were putting up. Losing the war, being turned to feathers and fighting Medusa wasn't enough to get them back here after all.

"I guess I will entertain you despicable bunch." He chuckled. "Just don't bore me."

"Oh we won't." Pepper snarled. "You better hope you have hair on your head when I'm done with you!"

Ginger and Rita in the meantime snuck behind everyone to where Sonic was being captive. The sun angel wanted to jump into the action but with the barrier, preventing him from going inside, he wasn't going to be able to get any glory from fighting the villain. Instead he would be the hero of freeing the blue hedgehog. Sonic's natural barrier wasn't in the main one. You would think that was odd but Ginger never considered thinking about it. Rita didn't seem to grasp that there actually was a barrier since he trailed after Ginger and held onto his cape. Kaguju wanted those two kids to stay put but seeing them walk through the barrier to get to Sonic surprised him.

That boy…he can't be…no…it's just my imagination. Kaguju thought as he focused on the battles that have transpired in that instant.

Darkness was surrounding the light angel as the battle began against Ike. Ike's goal was to disarm the angel so he could talk some sense into him. Pit was a weapon master even when possessed and he wasn't making things easier floating around the room and raining arrows down on him. The arrows that were normally a nuisance pierced the leader of the Greil Mercenaries' clothes. The normally blue arrows were tinted black as if Tabuu had finished corrupting the angel.

"I…ke…"

The angel was still in there though.

"Come on Pit! I know you're in there! Fight back against that curse! You're the strongest person I know who can beat a curse!"

"Uhh…Ike…it…hurts…" The angel whined as he shot another arrow that broke into many smaller ones. The bluenette slashed them aside and when he did that the angel rushed toward him. The two exchanged blows with the blade with Ike successfully pushing the angel back.

"Dammit…Pit, fight him!"

It would be difficult to get Pit out of this hypnotic state though. Without those rings around his wrist, he was at the mercy of Tabuu. If only someone could throw him rings or create new ones on the spot…

Bullets flied around past the dark angel as Li flew into the air and fired dark magic at the blonde angel. Both weren't aiming to kill each other but at this rate it would remain a stand off.

"Li-Li, you got to stop now!"

"Not until I see you on the ground begging for mercy Isaak!"

Their attacks collided with each other causing an explosion. Isaak charged himself like a battery while the smoke was in the way and then set the sparks back at the dark angel. Li flew higher but even a small tap of electricity was enough to shock him. He shook off the static shock and launched a devil ball toward the blonde. Isaak shot it with a blast of electricity causing another explosion.

"Li-Li please! If you don't stop, Tabuu will win. I can't imagine what he'll do to you if we lose."

"Oh I'll be fine. You're the one who should be worried since you're the biggest annoyance here!"

Perhaps Li was letting out his frustration with the blonde after so many years or perhaps it was just a façade to make Isaak kill him. These words were simply not reaching Isaak who had resolved to save the dark angel.

"Just give back the body you stole zen."

"Hah! As if! I won't be able to maintain this form so either you die or I die with my host. This host is not making it out in one piece!" The dark angel declared as he landed near the shadows and used it to unleash another dark magic spell. Isaak couldn't dodge this spell and found himself being sent back.

"How about you stay down so I can make this as painless as possible?"

"No…" Isaak growled standing up after the blow. "You're important to me…and I'll save you from him…I promise."

…Idiot…

The royal bodyguards decided to tag team with no distractions this time around, but given how Medusa's battle weakened them greatly and they were down one angel, this was proving difficult, and with Pepper and Sun-Wong being on the offensive while everyone else played defensive, the situation wasn't looking too good.

Pepper was known for hitting and running, but this strategy was impossible for someone who was quick like Tabuu. Here he was just teleporting before she could hit him in such a closed area that she would tire out. Sun-Wong was too slow in comparison where he would prepare to swing his Nyoi-boi only to get smacked from behind. Himeno stayed in the back healing the earth angel. Aqua's attempts to move back and snipe was pointless because he was too quick and constantly sent Sun-Wong in her direction causing them both to crash into the barrier. Mcenche was the only one who was able to get a few hits in with his perfectly designed ice traps meant to slip things up. This wouldn't last long when Tabuu started to float above the ground and teleport making Mcenche lose his edge.

"Damn this guy…it's five against one…" Pepper complained. "Why is this so hard! Any other RPG boss would be dead!"

"This isn't a video game Pepper…" Mcenche said with a sigh. "Get your head out of your ass."

"Excuse me?!"

Tabuu wasted no time turning his arm into a familiar blue color and slamming Pepper and Mcenche into the wall.

"Wahhhhhh!"

Aqua took this chance to snipe him in the back of the head. It was a clean hit but not something that could kill a being like Tabuu. He only looked at her in irritation as he extended his other hand to grab Aqua and throw her into the ceiling. Himeno wasted no time using the wind to soften her landing before blocking the hand that came for her.

"Strong…" She whispered as she dug her feat into the ground nearly causing her to trip. "I can't…" For a second her face darkened and a similar aura that Pit was displaying was starting to immerge from the green angel. Gritting her teeth, she resisted the urge of this power taking over this time around. Sun-Wong came to her aid as he crushed Tabuu's face with his weapon. Tabuu felt no pain at this point and just released Pepper and Mcenche from the wall.

Aqua landed on the ground just in time and aimed her staff again at the deity. The ice angel assisted the fire angel back to the group. When they were all close, Himeno twirled her fan around to restore everyone's health.

"We need to be more careful everyone…" Himeno mumbled. "We can't afford to mess up."

"Uh…this is not going well…" Pepper whined as she set her daggers on fire. "We really need Pit for this."

Ginger continued to smack the spherical barrier that encased the blue hedgehog. He took pride in his punches so it was angering him that these punches were not enough to set his blue savior free. Rita in contrast watched Ginger lay the smack down on the barrier with no prevail. There had to be an easier way to break the barrier without resorting to wasting energy. Then again, the platinum angel wasn't tired in the slightest.

Everyone else could only watch the battle becoming helpless as the battle raged on. Ian's prayers for everything to turn out okay weren't working and the Smashers were left on the other side to watch the angels fail to take on Tabuu who was only getting stronger. They could be doing something more productive than just standing there though.

"Hey, instead of standing there, you all should be looking to save other angels." The purple angel ordered, "Ian, get them to find Abbigale. You're praying isn't helping."

The younger brother of the judge glared at Kaguju as a response. "…So I can't pray for Pepper's safety…"

"You can; just go find Abbigale. You know what she looks like so you can have that black hedgehog search the place for her."

"I'm not a-"

"Okie-dokie."

Valerie watched as his brother got off his knees and hollered to everyone to follow him. The Smashers had nothing better to do at this point and perhaps finding this old lady would turn things around. Shadow was quick to follow with Lyn and the others following soon afterward. Marth was the last one to leave because he feared the safety of Roy should Li be killed. Isaak was making sure he didn't harm his beloved though, so there was some hope that if he came back, Roy would still be in one peace.

Once they were gone, Kaguju turned his attention toward the barrier. He could now focus on more important things. The judge was too distracted to realize that this was the chance to strike when Tabuu wasn't watching them at all now.

"…Your honor, you should focus."

"Huh?"

The purple angel closed his eyes as his hand started glowing a dark purple. "When I say run, focus your powers and rush through the barrier. You'll only get one shot to get in there and talk some sense into the Captain."

"Huh? But how can you…"

"We don't have time for questions like this. Go now!"

Kaguju didn't waste any time placing his hand on Tabuu's barrier causing it to turn a purple color before crack where he touched it. The judge couldn't ask what sort of power was that. All he could do was rush inside undetected before the barrier closed itself up again.

I'm in. Valerie thought as he turned toward the battle with Ike and Pit. Ike who started out dominating the angel found himself pulling back the more reckless the white angel became. The more the captain resisted, the more his attacks were meant to kill the bluenette. Ragnell was not blocking all the blows now and the angel got some hits in causing Ike to flinch.

"Pit come on…I know you're not that weak…"

"Guhhh…Ike…run away…" Pit cried out. Aiming his blades, he actually threw them like boomerangs which Ike had never seen Pit do before. This move caught him off guard and could feel his cheeks being cut. "I really will kill you…"

The angel caught his blades before charging the bluenette. Ike continued to avoid his strikes but he took some damage around his arms. Pit was aiming for his hands to have Ike drop his sword and it was working because Ike kept parrying instead of striking back. The angel flew into the air and fired arrows that Ike countered before gliding into him and tackling him into the ground.

"Arrghhh!"

The angel didn't let up as he flew into the air again and shot arrows down his way. Ike rolled out of the way to avoid the angel gliding down again only with blades instead of a headbutt. Pit got his blades stuck in the ground and Ike used this opportunity to trip the angel onto the floor with him.

"You're open Pit!"

The angel crashed into the ground. He failed to react in time when Ike got up and slammed his sword next to Pit's face before he could move.

"Pit!" Ike called out as he placed both his hands on the side of Pit's head so he wouldn't move. "Listen to me. I know I treated you poorly after you were outed as an Amail…but I didn't mean it! I was angry and confused and I just remembered how Soren was killed…I didn't need to take it out on you."

The angel stared back at Ike with still eyes. The darkness was taking over again and those words weren't reaching him.

"I can continue to apologize and hope to reach you but I did something unforgivable. I abandoned you in a time of need. What kind of friend am I? I fight for my friends, but the one person I really care for…I just turn tail and run like the coward I am…I really am hopeless without my friends."

"…Ike…"

"I really am sorry Pit…"

Ike was a man who did not cry yet in this moment seeing the emotionless angel wounded him. To him this was just as bad as not being able to save Soren from his fatal wound…he couldn't save Pit from his own darkness at this rate. He wanted to hug the angel but he kept spewing more apologies instead.

"Pit…you don't have to feel bad about being an Amail. A one-third doesn't change who you are as a person. I told this to Soren and how he's still his own person. You should have faith in yourself. Even if you created Lived by your darkness, you're still your own person. I don't blame you…and you should be proud of your Amail blood."

"NO!" The angel suddenly shrieked as he pushed Ike off. "NO! YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND! DON'T EVER SAY THAT AGAIN!"

Was that the darkness taking control or…did Pit really think so lowly of himself? The angel stood back up, his lack of emotions changed to something dark and bitter as he spread his arms out. It was then did it become obvious what he was doing.

"Pit, don't summon!" Kaguju shouted from behind the barrier. "You'll kill everyone with the size of your Aeon!"

The angel didn't seem to care as he began chanting. Perhaps Ike should have not brought up the Amail after all. This was a huge red button that the angel really didn't want to deal with.

The silver haired angel rushed toward his captain and was quick to throw his arms around his captain. Ike was surprised and urged Valerie to step away from Pit who didn't have enough strength to fight back.

"Captain…don't be foolish. Do not summon Alexander here. You'll kill everyone." He warned as his grip on the angel tightened. "If you're going to…then I won't hesitate to be the first person to die by your hands."

The angel flinched immediately feeling his touch. The judge might have been using his powers to stop Pit's movement, but the angel didn't know if it was him or his friend.

"Your past…doesn't change who you are today. Like that human said, you're you Pit…you have done so much as a captain. We…wouldn't hate you for being an Amail. I wouldn't…and I'm the biggest bigot out there." He confessed. "If we lost you and our Goddess, we wouldn't know what to do. Please Pit, snap out of it…do it for everyone who is praying for you."

"…Everyone…?" The white angel croaked.

It wasn't his imagination. The angel was glowing around the head area. The judge used his psychic powers to flow the words of the angels in Angel Land toward the angel.

"Yes, everyone is praying for your safety. You are our precious captain. We can't lose you to the darkness."

"Everyone…"

The white angel closed his eyes and he could hear everyone…not the royal bodyguards in the room but those he swore to protect outside. He could see Ian in the Goddess palace gathering many angels up especially the four cherubs who were working under Abbigale to pray for Pit's safety. This extended beyond the Goddess Palace as the angels outside were wishing for their captain to come back to them. The archangels' prayers were weaker but Pit could feel them resigning in his mind. Haruhi was even fainter than the archangels but it was there and he thought he could hear the melody she was playing on her harp in the distance. Even the Angel Assembly who has been the most antagonistic toward him was calling out to him. The angels…cared…

"Everyone…doesn't…hate me."

"Of course not Pit…just stop this summon and come back to us…"

"I…I…"

"I'll tell you over and over again that I don't care that you're an Amail. You will be our best captain that will continue to protect the heavens with your never ending light."

Ike felt like this new angel was overshadowing him. And yet his words were reaching Pit when his words failed to do so. Was his love for Pit not strong enough or was it because he was a human?

Suddenly the angel started screaming when the summoning Alexander was cancelled. The dark side that was still controlling him tried to shut out the voices. Pit attempted to push the judge away from him but failed to do so given his firm grasp. Valerie could feel the angel shivering in his arms.

"No…stop…I don't want…to be alone…" Pit murmured as he continues to shake.

"I'm here Pit…and so is that human Ike…"

"I…"

"Finished."

Rita made things easier for Ginger to break the barrier. Using his magic, he planted a flower where Ginger was punching. It attached itself to the barrier and starting to absorb the magic that was keeping the hedgehog in check. Ginger was free to punch where the flower was. Every time his fist made contact with the flower, he felt something great…like he was actually doing damage to the barrier. He then followed this with a barrage of punches until he used a mega punch where his fist glowed as bright as the sun and smashed the barrier the blue hedgehog was in.

Sonic should have been unconscious the entire time but the minute the barrier shatter, Sonic opened his eyes and zoomed toward the white angel. Anyone could see that Yuna was healing Sonic to prevent Sonic from collapsing. In his hand, he had a ring generated from her magic. He knew what to do for his friend.

"Pit! Take this!"

The hedgehog charged toward the angel and forced the rings back on Pit's hand. The angel cried out in pain feeling the dark magic inside of him reacting badly. The seal was too weak for it to hold onto Pit the longer Valerie hugged him and reminding him that everything would be okay. He wasn't alone.

With the weaken seal; the angel had an…unpleasant flashback before breaking free. His entire life before creating Li and running off together on the streets were hell. He was born into a family of no love. His father forced himself on his mother and by the angel law they had to be together despite creating an Amail like him. His mother hated him more than anything in the world. His existence was the reason for her suffering in the worse part of the heavens. She would often beat him and constantly went after his wings already making it difficult for the angel to fly at a young age.

Before making that pact with Tabuu, he was promised on his birthday that if he went to slay the Minotaur in the human world, she would stop her abuse. Like the innocent child he was, he took the challenge with a bow he crafted himself. He was foolish to think it would be enough to take down a huge monster like that.

In the human world, the Minotaur terrorized the people by hunting them down in a maze. Pit navigated it rather easily but froze in terror when he came face to face with the Minotaur. He ended up losing the bow he made and the Minotaur crushed his wings. This was what sealed the deal for the angel. Even if they were healed, he would never be able to fly again and it would extend to Li (except it didn't really because Li was more experienced with magic while he lacked it). The angel expected to die in that instant but like the heroine in fairy tales, she swooped down and slew the Minotaur. Sure she was there because she was trying to save someone else that was held captive and he was in that area too but the angel only focused on his savior. The beautiful Goddess with green hair and green eyes with a halo that floated a little above her head and behind her, and even though she was covered in the Minotaur's blood, the angel was still in awe at her beauty. The divine Goddess who apparently ignored the residence of Sandalphon came before him and saved his miserable life. She went to him and healed his wings to prevent his life from being wasted, but it was not enough to fix the broken bones. These injuries were too extreme that only those above the Gods could heal them…but they wanted no disturbance at this time, so Pit would have to live with injured wings.

Even being saved from the merciful Goddess wasn't enough because he still failed his mother's wishes. Her punches were harder to absorb with how weakened the angel was with his wings being shattered. With his dad constantly neglecting his son, Pit was pushed to his limit…and that was when Tsusuki came into his life asking if he wanted power to get out of this hell. Pit didn't think of the consequences and accepted his offer resulting in Lived Twilight being born and slaughtering his parents. Because the Angel Assembly refused to go into a place like Sandalphon, no murder charges would be placed but it could be used against him in the future if they wanted to make the captain look less favorable…

But…the angel just didn't want to remember anything before meeting Li. He was all he had left in this cruel world before Palutena took them both in. He just wanted his family to love and acknowledge him but he didn't even get that and then he lost Li because he was weak and spent more time distancing himself from the other angels who were his family now instead of looking toward the future and finding ways to reunite with his dark half.

The angel's cries pained the bluenette but the rings were having its affect. Ike was quick to catch the angel as he fell forward.

"Guhh…why…mom…dad…"

"Pit…Pit!"

"…Ike? What happened?"

At first the leader of the Greil Mercenaries failed to respond to the tired angel, but soon he started chuckling before giving the angel a tighter hug.

"Pit…you're back…thank god. I thought I lost you…"

The brunette felt his cheeks turn red as he slowly let Ike embrace him lovingly.

"Sorry…"

"Hey Captain! You're forgetting someone!"

How could Pit forget the soon to be judge when he helped him break free sooner? Pit opened his eyes slightly seeing the judge and Sonic staring at the brunette. Sonic was still worried for Pit's wellbeing but Valerie was scowling at the white angel.

"You nearly kill us, scream and then you get a hug from that big guy? What about me?"

"Valerie…sorry…for your hair."

"Oh that's it?! You fucking-"

There was no time to celebrate though as with the loss of his angel made him resort to drastic measures. His form yet complete, he ended up using a large portion of his power to create tentacle like arms that were aimed at the royal bodyguards. Isaak was quick to notice and rolled away to avoid being seized. The other royal bodyguards weren't as lucky as distracting Tabuu wore them out even more. The legs grabbed the normally quick Mcenche and Pepper and Aqua was too slow to defend herself. Himeno attempted to cut the tentacles but was grabbed by behind and Sun-Wong would be the last one to be captured.

"Guys!" Pit called out in horror seeing the royal bodyguards being hoisted into the air. Their bodies were glowing that of their element and no matter how they struggled, they weren't breaking free from his grip.

"Dammit…" Pepper cursed. "My energy…"

"Pandemona…" Himeno cried out as she felt something leave her. It wasn't just her either; Tabuu was snatching the summon beings from their body and adding them to his own.

"No way…" Pit mumbled. "He can do that…"

"Yes I can." Tabuu said with a laugh. "All of those years struggling to even get your element to respond to you are now being taken away from you pathetic angels!"

"Not my Shiva!" Mcenche cried out. "Don't…"

Tabuu chuckled as the spirits living inside the angels were yanked out of the hearts of their owners. Their spirits were screaming in agony as Tabuu was absorbing them into his body. The royal bodyguards cried out in pain feeling a part of them being forced out of them.

"EVERYONE!" Pit shouted as he tried to get his arrow to aim at Tabuu's head but failed. He didn't have the strength to protect them…

He wasn't done though as he aimed his tentacles toward Ginger and Rita. These two had potential so it was better off sealing their potential summons now.

"No…Ginger…Rita…" Pepper growled. "Tabuu…damn you…"

Ginger was the fastest angel…he wanted to think that but he was a deer caught in the headlight when he was grabbed off the ground. Rita did a better job protecting himself but his inexperience in battle left him vulnerable and soon he was grabbed and drained like the platinum angels.

"You bastard!" Kaguju cursed seeing the platinum angel taken. He could do nothing without being a target and as long as he was behind the barrier, Tabuu couldn't reach him. "You won't get away with this!"

"Oh Kaguju, I already have." Tabuu said with a laugh as more energy drained into him. "And with this, there are only three angels left to drain."

Me: TBC with 5191 words.

Li: Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

Me: Well, I had to find an excuse to actually get rid of the Summon beings from another video game and well might as well have the villain take it and start reverting back to his original form in Brawl. Notes!

1. So the barrier Tabuu made was meant to keep Smashers and angels out. However this can't hold everyone out and already gives you a hint on everyone else.

2. Himeno does have a split personality and it functions differently from Pit and Li. She suppresses it here but she has unleashed it. She did in chapter 32 and I think she went berserk in Grey Reflections but I'm not sure.

3. I finally establish it here. An Amail is not a 1/3. That is a metaphor for child by rape. No wonder Pit flipped his shit at Ike and actually shows that Ike does not understand the definition after all of that training behind the gate.
