Showdown II

Disclaimer: I do not own Super Smash Brothers Brawl or any of the characters. I only own Sun-Wong, Isaak, Himeno, Roger, Aqua, Mcenche, Pepper (me), Li, Abbigale, Queen Neptune, Prince Pluto, Emperor Apollo, Queen Hinata, Queen Zoe, Prince Henry, Queen Crystal, Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Nina and the little bat Hoshi-Tsuki but not who he is. Zelina and Sao belong to Zelina56. I also own Fuyumi, Ian, Wright, Arachne, the Angel Assembly and the archangels.

Summary: Pit may have broken free from Tsusuki's spell, but now that he has captured the royal bodyguards and forcing Li to do his fighting for him, it's going to take a miracle to prevent anyone close to him from dying…

Me: So Ike gets a chance to rematch Li. This won't be too long…enjoy.

Chapter 47: Showdown II

Pit could only watch in horror as his family was taken from him one by one and thrown into the sphere that zapped them of their summon beings. If he didn't do something, the angels could die in there.

Tabuu wasn't done with grabbing angels though as he turned his attention to Valerie and Sonic.

"Isaak!"

"Got it!"

The two were fast enough to push Valerie and Sonic out of the way. The white angel then blocked Tabuu's attack with his Mirror Shield deflecting it back. The angel shivered hearing his shield crack, but just pushing the attack back drained him of any strength he had left.

"Lived, go get Pit and Isaak for me." Tabuu said with a laugh seeing Isaak trying to help his captain stand up. "Once they're all in here, my form will be complete and the heavens will be no more!"

The dark angel flinched at his words. Seeing Pit's friends snap him out of his trance was a sight to behold. They cared for him so much that they would risk their life to save him…and yet here he was...the only person beside Tabuu's side alone…with no one else to turn to. His family kept saying they wanted to save him, but at this moment when their lives were in danger, it was either him or them…

"If you're going to get them, you're going to go through me."

His blood boiled seeing the mercenary step in between the two angels with a determined look in those blue orbs.

"You got me the last time, but this time I will be victorious."

"Oh? You want to die this time?" Lived questioned as he got his double edged sword Masamune out. "I will give you a painful death."

"Li-Li don't!" The blonde called out but the two already had their backstory. This battle between them would end right now as the two charged at each other clashing blades. "Tabuu wants you to do zis…"

"Isaak…" Pit grumbled as he realized he wasn't going to get up anytime soon. "Instead of looking at the battle, we need to think of a way to save Li."

"…I…"

"Remember, Li doesn't have a body. Ike can't kill Li without killing Roy; therefore he has to weaken him enough for Roy to get his body back. We need to figure out how to capture Li's soul."

"! Oh…"

"So let's put our heads together and think of something."

It would have been nice if they got Valerie's input. He couldn't get back into the barrier now with Tabuu putting up an even stronger one. The angels inside the sphere being drained were one thing but it was the chaos emeralds that allowed him to make an impossible barrier in the first place. No matter how powerful Valerie's psychic powers was, he wasn't going to break the barrier in this condition. Turning toward Kaguju, the purple angel was probably brainstorming an idea in his head…or waiting for Abbigale to be found by the others. As for Sonic…well apparently charging the blockade at top speed would do something…maybe…but not in his weakened condition.

"Hang on Pit! I'm coming!" Sonic called out as he spun into a ball and rammed the obstruction with no changing results. "Dammit!"

"Feather shot!"

Li jumped back when his body shimmered to a black and purple color. He fired the feathers that fell off at him toward the mercenary. Ike easily countered and charged the dark angel who sidestepped out of the way. Trying to bring down Masamune on Ike only resulted in Ike putting his sword in front of him and countering.

"Your tricks won't work twice." Ike warned the dark angel who nearly lost his grip on his sword. "Perhaps you should surrender before you get hurt."

"Oh please!" The dark angel called out as he twirled Masamune in front of him as he rushed toward the bluenette. He shielded from the attack but Li got some attacks in for how long it lasted. "You're the last one I need to tell me to give up!"

Li kicked him back toward the barrier. Ike flinched feeling the pain of slamming his back into it, but he recovered quickly and charged back into Li inflicting the same pain on the black angel when he rammed him into the mirror where Palutena was in. The mirror was too strong for a simple attack to get her out though…

"When we fought those past times, I saw you as a formable foe." Ike began as Li shot more feathers his way. "But now that I see you like this, I take that back. You only deserve pity."

That hit a nerve. "What did you say?"

"Normally I tell my foes they'll get no sympathy from me. But you don't get sympathy…only pity for continuing to serve this mad man when your family is fighting for your release."

"Shut up!"

Li's movement was slowly becoming more erratic as he swung his blade in quick succession. Ike parried each blow to the point where it looked like the two were in a play swinging their blade without the intention to hurt one another. Ike generally doesn't use these mind game tactics in battle. He was an honest individual, but probably because of the humiliation he suffered before; he wanted to beat Li without a fighting spirit left.

"Think about it, you come to take over the heavens and you expect military weapons! What do you get instead? You get balloons, party streamers and presents. In the hallway, there were no guns! There were stereos preparing a party!"

"But I was dead to them! The party was for themselves!"

"Zat's not true Li-Li!" Isaak shouted. "We struggled with coming up with presents for you! You might never get zem but we zought long and hard!"

"All of your stuff was half ass!"

"I told the others zose outfits were bad taste…"

"Please, you guys used my money to buy things for both of us to cross-dress…" Pit snarked to the lightning angel.

"It's the thought that counts though, right?" Ike probed as he went on the offensive. "If they never cared about you, why put themselves in danger for your sake and make a party when things were already going haywire in the other realms?"

Li's eyes widened at the question. He blocked Ragnell but he felt his legs giving up on him as he barely had time to knock him back.

"If you ask me, you are a delusional child that wants someone to blame. You can't blame Tabuu though because he'll kill you so you'll blame the family that wants to save you. You garner no sympathy from me at all. You're just pitiful."

Maybe that word shouldn't be used given how Pit was glaring daggers at Ike. Li's expression darkened as he no longer cared about being careful in battle. He just wanted to cut Ike down to bits.

"And what would you know?" Li asked as he unleashed his rage onto the mercenary leader. "I killed your precious half-breed so you don't even want to sympathize with me! You don't understand what it's like for me as a child! I was born from Pit's darkness because that bastard tricked him into doing so! I had no idea what it was like to be optimistic in Sandalphon! I just knew I had to protect Pit! Lady Palutena and the royal bodyguards were all I had! We were little criminals that stole whatever we needed and not once did they punish us for that! Lady Palutena even made Pit the captain because of his potential! I didn't think I would get in after that but I was happy!"

By shouting his mouth off, Li felt himself tiring himself out. If he didn't talk, he wouldn't need to catch his breath but he kept going.

"Then that damn war with Medusa came along and killed me! You know how lonely it was to be let to rest and watch them replace me with some…some…human…that died for a stupid cause and then watch them forget about me over the years?! You know how suffering it was to be in a place where I was aware of what was going on but couldn't cry out for help?! I was so grateful for Midna…but Tabuu gave me the opportunity to get revenge on everyone who forgot about me and were willing to throw those years we spent together away…do you understand me at all?!"

"Of course not." Ike replied bluntly. "I'm only human who has only lived seventeen years of his life compared to you."

"Then you have no right to say I'm pitiful because Pit is the same as me! I saw him continue to live up to the expectations of the Captain and he couldn't forget about me without trying to find ways to bring me back! Smash was his chance to overlook me, but I came back to crash his party and send his world tumbling down. We're one and the same people! If I'm going to suffer, I'll drag him down with me!"

"Selfish."

"You fucking twat!" Li cursed seeing as how Ike honestly couldn't care about his tragic backstory. What was the point in venting if the "hero" refused to sympathize?

"And you're a selfish twat." Ike corrected attacking Li directly nearly causing him to lose his balance. "You were willing to kill everyone because you were too weak to reach out to your family? They were waiting for you. They were going to let go this year but you would rather have them mourn over your death forever. You had your chance when you were in the Twilight Realm! Not once did you even attempt to meet with the royal bodyguards. You fucking boyfriend over there have gone through hell and back for you and you're too blind to see that! You only care about yourself so don't tell me about how sad your life is when you sit down with your family and apologize for the hell you put them through!"

Li could feel the tears threatening to fall down his eyes. These words were harsh…but they were the truth. He had his chance when Midna revived him…and Palutena could have found a body for him to use…but he didn't…he just…hid in the darkness praying for his family to get him instead of having to do anything…he was…scared they would reject them after Roger came into the picture shortly afterward.

"Fucking bastard…I'll kill you!"

This entire screaming match, Tabuu was slowly absorbing more energy from the angels and the chaos emeralds and chuckling at the lovely scene before him. Oh how did he love to see the dark angel suffer! This was Li's redeeming quality about him: how much he could make everything about himself and still justify it was everyone else' fault.

He should have focused on the other threat in the room instead of enjoying the rematch. Kaguju had made it apparent that he wasn't going to let Tabuu had his way. As an observer angry with how Tabuu was treating the angels, he wasn't going to let him smile all the way through. Anyone who takes the Goddess' angels hostages deserved for him to be defeated in an equally underhanded way.

And that was when Kaguju dove his hand into his pocket and pulled out something he shouldn't even have.

"Hey Ike boy, use this and end the battle quickly."

Tabuu's eyes widened seeing what Kaguju had just thrown toward Ike. It was a Smash Ball! Ike only needed to slam his sword down at it to activate it and start glowing. Li realized he was in trouble now with the same strategy he used against Ike was being used back at him.

"You damn angel! I let you move around this palace for long enough! You're going with these kiddy angels."

Kaguju responded by taking out his whip from below his tunic and cracking it in front of Tabuu.

"You won't get me like them. I'll even kill you right now so Palutena won't need to stain her hands with your blood."

Tabuu assumed Kaguju was like the other angels and that was already proven wrong with Kaguju getting in multiple hits with his whip. The way he twirled it was like a certain vampire hunter and Tabuu couldn't even catch the whip without Kaguju appearing behind him and kicking him into the wall. If the purple haired angel could get the royal bodyguards free from that sphere, it wouldn't be an issue.

Kaguju smacked Tabuu a few times in the face with his face as a way to taunt him. Tabuu couldn't get a single hit in and capture him with the other angels. He had to crawl back as Kaguju did more damage to his pride than his body.

"Damn you…what…are you?"

"I'm your worst nightmare. Now release those angels before I finish you up right here."

It should have been a one sided battle that could have ended everything there. Kaguju shouldn't have had let his guard down though as Tabuu's excuse was to use his magic to grab one of the angels and use them as a hostage. Normally Kaguju would not care who it was if it were to protect Palutena from the likes of Tabuu…but the hostage he used.

"Make one wrong move, and this angel will have his head rolling on the floor."

"Ginger!" Pepper cried out from inside the sphere. She may have been weakened like the rest but seeing the boy in danger got her banging the caged sphere. "Bastard!"

Kaguju flinched seeing the boy being held by Tabuu whose hand turned into a sharp metal blade. Ginger cried out weakly as he tried to break free. The sphere weakened him greatly and being a fast angel wasn't going to save him.

"No…let me go…"

"What's the matter? Aren't you going to attack?"

Kaguju felt his hands shaking. If it was anyone else…it wouldn't matter but this boy…

"It can't be…" He mumbled. "He looks like…"

Tabuu used this moment of vulnerability to use his other hand to extend and seize Kaguju's throat. He gasped as he was immediately thrown into the sphere where whatever summon he had was being drained out of him.

"Oh no…"

"Well kid, you are good for something after all. Go join that nuisance in the sphere!"

Tabuu was rough with Ginger who went right back into the prison. Kaguju was affected way more than the other angels and it showed how he was the only one screaming. None of the other angels inside could do anything about it.

"Kaguju!" Pepper called out.

"Gahh…sis…" Kaguju mumbled weakly as he felt himself getting faint. Not now…when he was close to saving Palutena…

"Stay in there!" Tabuu shouted again kicking the sphere where the angels in before turning on the match.

Li continued to struggle against Ike when he had the Smash Ball. The longer Ike refused to hit the dark angel, the more he began panicked and his movement became easier to read. By the time he made the mistake in attempting to slash at Ike's chest, not only did Ike step out of the way but swung his sword into the air hitting Li in the chest directly instead. It wouldn't be long before he took Li to the sky with a powerful kick and began with a series of attacks that were way stronger outside of Smash Brothers Mansion.

"GREAT AETHER!"

How the tides have turned? When Li unleashed his made up Final Smash on Ike, he could have very well killed the bluenette. Now with the situation reversed, Ike had full intention of returning the favor for all the harm he had caused to the Smashers.

Yet when he slammed his flaming blade into the ground taking the dark angel with him, he missed the vital spot that could have killed the dark angel right there. He could have slayed him if he wanted to, but against his better judgment, he spared him in that moment.

So I ended up giving sympathy to the bastard after all. Ike thought to himself as he picked his sword up and carried it behind his back. The dark angel was still breathing. Ike could hear some short hiccups. Was Li…crying over his lost?

"Dammit…dammit…damn you human!" Li cursed as he was too weak to lift his arm up to hide his tear stained face. "I…I can't…hold onto this body anymore…dammit…"

Sure enough, Li's body glow a bright color. Roy was indeed fighting back within. Li tried to remain inside the body but he was quickly ejected from it leaving him as only a soul that could only hover over said body. When the light disappeared, Roy's figure returned. Besides his tarnished outfit, he was still in one peace. If Marth was here to see that he would have cried tears of joy.

I don't want to fade away…dammit…

The angel wanted to get back into Roy's body but he was too weak to do anything. His body would soon fade into light and he would simply vanish. This was…the consequence of lacking a body in heaven. Perhaps this was…for the best though.

"LI-LI!"

That voice…Isaak?

"I won't let you fade! Take my hand!"

Li…didn't trust the lightning angel one bit. After all of this time…he would let the dark angel take over his body even for a little bit? Why would he go that far? Li knew the answer…he just…didn't want to admit it.

"LIVED!"

Isaak!

Li used his remaining strength to reach out to the blonde angel. The minute their hand touched did the dark angel felt warmth circling through his body. He wasn't a half breed so he shouldn't even be capable of taking over him. Whatever the reason, Isaak refused to let Li just disappear after being ejected from his host. He felt his entire body freezing over, but he knew that at the end of the day, it would only be temporary until Palutena was freed. She could patch things up from there.

"Li-Li…Lived? Y-You here?"

…Why would you do this? Li asked him darkly. Why would you let me in? I can hear your thoughts now…

Isaak at first gasped before a small smile escaped his lips. This caused Li to react negatively from inside.

I hate it Isaak! I don't want to hear your thoughts and emotions! I'm not…I'm not…

"But you are. I will never stop loving you."

Idiot…fucking idiot…let me disappear now…I change my mind…I want to disappear now…let me out!

Isaak froze at Li's words before he broke out into laughter. He missed this sense of humor that the dark angel had concerning him but…this wasn't the time to laugh.

"Isaak, what the hell are you doing? You're leaving yourself wide open! Run!"

By the time Isaak looked up, the lightning angel ended up being trapped inside Tabuu's magic.

"Guh!"

"You make things too easy. You turn your back after that useless angel failed me and you're going to get destroyed."

Unlike what he did with the other angels, Tabuu used his magic to lift the lightning angel into the air. Pit was too weak to do anything about it and Ike was still catching his breath from the Final Smash. Did it really take that much out of him if used outside of the Smash Brothers Mansion or did the two battles with the angels wear him out without realizing it?

Isaak gripped his chest tightly feeling that Tabuu was trying to pull Li out of his body. After all the pain he suffered, he wouldn't let Li get hurt anymore. Tabuu started to cast a spell that turned his hand into a huge blade that he used to stab Isaak through the stomach.

"ISAAK!" Pit cried out hearing Isaak scream as the blade went through him. Tabuu laughed seeing the yellow angel struggle trying to remove the blade from his stomach. N matter what he did though, he was going to leave him and the dark angel for dead.

ISAAK NO! Li cried out. Don't do this! He's after me! PLEASE! Tabuu stopped!

"Don't want to." The man said with a laugh as he enjoyed seeing the blood and yellow feathers fall toward the ground. "He's as good as dead."

Tabuu flung the blonde angel toward the ground. There was no need for him to throw him in with the other angels when he was powerful enough to drain the summon beings from the two angels. He killed two birds in one stone and felt his wings shining brighter. Glancing at his body, he smirked seeing it returning back to its blue state. He was close to achieving his original form again to wipe all the Smashers out with one fell swoop of his Off Beat attack.

Isaak! Isaak! Isaak, don't die on me! Please Isaak open your eyes! Isaak! No…don't…ISAAK!

Pit felt anger rising inside of him. He attempted to stand up but he felt his knees give up on him. He refused to sit down and let Tabuu go after him next seeing Tabuu turn his attention to him. The white angel had a summon being too but he wasn't going to let Tabuu take it…not after what he did to his family.

"Tabuu you bastard…you're the lowest scum…I won't forgive you!"

"Charming Pit but you're in no condition to do anything. I have your fellow comrades right where I want them, you're precious twin isn't going to survive once that Nazi breathes his last breath and your beloved can't do anything either. I guess the Smash Ball is a double edge sword after all."

Ike dragged himself beside Pit raising Ragnell toward his mortal enemy. Even if he was worn out, he wasn't going to go down with a fight. If they didn't stop Tabuu here, then he would go out of the palace and turn everyone back into a trophy or worse…

Tabuu continued to snicker at the only two Smashers that could oppose him now. The enemies outside of his barrier could only watch as he got rid of them. Slowly, he rose into the air his wings appearing behind him.

"Look on the bright side you two. You can die together. My power outside of Subspace is on a grander scale. The summons…the Chaos Emeralds…nothing will stop me from obliterating you."

"I won't lose to you Tabuu!" The angel barked back getting his bow ready. "As Captain of the royal bodyguards, I will end your terrain right here!"

"And as the leader of the Greil Mercenaries, you will pay for attacking my home!" Ike added.

Tabuu found their battle banter cute. Nothing they did would change anything…or so he thought.

You see, Tabuu thought he sealed the entire chamber up to where no outsider could come in. Apparently, there was a crack in his barrier that he didn't notice (or this person was immune to barriers). Pit looked up and saw someone come in.

"Tiki, now!"

Without warning, Tabuu felt fangs bite into the back of his neck. He looked over his shoulder to see a four tailed fox sinking her fangs into his neck. He could feel the pain given she was going for a blood vein. As he grabbed at one of her tails, the fox covered herself in a white cloud before revealing her human form: A blue haired girl with blue eyes and a white martial arts bandana over her head. Her outfit was a weird Malibu Tiki dress that didn't seem appropriate for fighting but the fact it wasn't tied revealing absolute cleave was something to be desired.

"And off those wings go, tsk-tsk." She hummed as she took out a sharp dagger from her dress and despite the power Tabuu had, it still didn't change how fragile his wings were. Sonic going at high speed to damage them was one thing, but she went straight for the back and with her agility, hacked off one of the wings.

"ARGHHHHHHHH! MY WINGS! MY BEAUTIFUL WINGS! YOU BLASTED ANIMAL!"

Tiki was quick to turn back into her fox form as she rushed over to the barrier and immediately touched it with her head effectively breaking it. At the same time, an old lady appeared at the entrance.

"Abbigale!" Pit called out before noticing a silver haired angel behind her. "And Ian?!"

"I found her captain. Are you happy?" He asked in a happy tone despite the dire situation they were all in.

The old hag glanced at Tsusuki who wasn't expecting her to get out of her prison. He didn't think they would find her in time because he would have killed any opposition making Abbigale's return worthless yet here the judge of the Angel Assembly was with her injuries from her battle with Pit healed.

"Valerie, together now. We will get the Goddess out of her confinement."

The soon to be judge was praying the entire time hating how he couldn't do anything for his Captain or the royal bodyguards. Now was his chance though as he focused all of his powers into Abbigale's sword that was pointed straight toward the mirror where Palutena was sleeping.

"No you won't!" Tabuu cursed but by then Pit shot Tabuu in the chest with an arrow.

"That's for putting Lady Palutena in the mirror in the first place!"

"You cursed Amail!"

With their powers combined, Abbigale and Valerie fired a powerful magic beam toward the mirror. It didn't matter how powerful the spell Tabuu had on the mirror, it only took someone from the Marchen family combined with a powerful angel to break it…if only he killed Valerie instead of taunting him he wouldn't be in the situation now.

Pit smiled brightly seeing the mirror shattered before him. The glass went flying everywhere so Ike covered the angel with his cape to avoid him getting hit by glass particles. There was nothing to worry about now though because, a yawn could be heard from the mirror as the Goddess of Light slowly stepped out of her confinement.

"This isn't the time to be napping Palutena!" Abbigale shouted seeing as she was still dazed from having a long nap.

"I do not need your nagging the first thing in the morning." Palutena spoke rather annoyed with the old lady. Why was she so calm now?

Tabuu backed up seeing the Goddess in her former glory. The magic resonating in her was getting stronger by the minute.

"Don't tell me…"

"Tabuu…maybe you should plan out your strategy better. I didn't resist you when you captured me because I had faith in my angels." She said with a laugh as she raised her scepter into the air. "Perhaps you should have impaled me like you did my poor Isaak."

Her voice dropped though when she spoke seeing one of her fellow angels on the ground bleeding to death. He was still breathing but he was pale as a ghost now. Looking up at the sphere where the other angels were kept, they were all calling out to their Goddess from within. She gave the most menacing stare at it though seeing Kaguju wounded inside.

"…I might have forgiven you after I got out but there's no turning back now."

Pointing her scepter toward the sphere, she shot a powerful laser beam from it destroying the sphere that held the angels in one hit. They all tumbled down after it was destroyed but not all of them had bad landings. Pepper made sure to catch Ginger as Sun-Wong did to Himeno. Rita was actually able to land perfectly on the ground along with Aqua. Mcenche was probably the only one who had a face plant. Kaguju however never hit the ground because Palutena used her magic to bring him toward her. The light he was surrounded him was a powerful healing spell. Even without his summon, she would guarantee he was at full strength.

"Kaguju…what did I say about letting your guard down?" Palutena mumbled to the purple angel as she dropped him after restoring his health. "You make me look bad when you fail miserably."

"Uhhh…why do you have to be so mean?"

He was quick to wake up after being healed but now he was red as a tomato standing next to the Goddess of Light.

"I wouldn't have to be mean if you pulled your own weight. You let me get captured while you stood in the shadows."

"Not true!...Okay…maybe but…"

Tabuu was not having this casual dialogue going on in his presence. He still had the summons and Chaos Emeralds with him so he wouldn't lose a fight with the Goddess or her favorites that were still standing tall.

"You think you can just ignore me and have a lovely family chat?" He questioned in a mocking tone as he tried to force the other wing to stretch out. "I'll have you know I can beat you with one wing. I will-"

"BLACK HOLE!"

Palutena extended her scepter in front of her while Kaguju did the same with both of his hands. Together they created a huge black hole with the intention to drag Tabuu in. The power from the black hole was extraordinary and the appearance on the other side…looked like Subspace Emissary.

"You can go back to your realm." Palutena said with a smile. "I'll be sure to finish taking you down once I know my angels are okay."

"You bitch! How dare you insult me! I will kill you in my realm!"

Kaguju snickered seeing the almost blue skinned color man being dragged in. "Don't mess with Palutena. She will fuck you up in there. You wanted to fight her back then and you failed to do it during this invasion. She'll get you in there just you wait."

"Guh…damn you two! I curse you divine…"

He couldn't finish his cursing because he was pulled right back into Subspace. Ike's jaw dropped seeing how Palutena easily dealt with Tabuu while Pit was clapping and worshipping the ground of his Goddess in that moment. Palutena frowned though after the black hole disappeared.

"Pit, this is no time for you to be dancing. We need to deal with him as soon as possible."

"But you just did Lady Palutena…"

"No…Kaguju and I only moved him to that one location for now. If we leave him in there, he will only come back at full strength. I have only delayed the destruction of heaven for now."

"And where is Tabuu now?" Ike questioned feeling like he already knew the answer.

"He's back…in the Smash Realm behind that door where Subspace is."

Me: TBC with 5615 words. Yes there are two chapters in one day. I'm so awesome right because there's only one more chapter left to write and that's the next one (since I already finished the epilogue).

Li: I hate you! If you killed Isaak…

Me: Who knows…notes!

1. Li did have a choice in the end but chose not to. So the blame is partially on him.

2. Kaguju probably isn't an angel given what he just did. If it's not obvious at this point, I don't know what to say. I mean Palutena and Kaguju refer to each other without honorifics. That is a dead giveaway.
