Chapter 14: The battles Begin!

I waited with the other contestants for the first battle to begin. The first match was Krillian vs. Bacterian after the host's speech. I felt a sweat-drop on the back of my head at the dog man's "few words" while everyone in the stands fell over. I looked to Krillian as he was summoned to the arena to fight his opponent. I patted his back roughly, since I can't ruffle hair that wasn't there. Goku looked more excited than Krillian when he tried to lift Krillian's spirts.

Once Krillian walked around the wall, Kagome and Goku went to the side of the wall to see over top of it to watch and cheer on Krillian. We, like the rest of the crowd, plugged our noses. The announcer called out the rules for the crowd, and then it began and a gong sounded.

We watched as Krillian backed off a bit from Bacterian's horrible smell. Bacterian went for a round punch, but Krillian jumped out of the way just in time. Bacterian countered by huffing is smelly breath on Krillian. That made Krillian dizzy. Bacterian took that time to give Krillian the "Stinky Finger". It was too much for Krillian, he fell down.

Goku and I cried out his name. The announcer recounted the details while his assistant started to count. Just then, Bacterian farted on Krillian, so that Krillian would stay down. Bacterian started to step on Krillian.

Goku and I yelled for Krillian to get up, and a thought came to us at the same time.

"You don't have a nose, remember!?"

We cheered as Krillian revived himself to start the fight again just before the count of 10. Bacterian was angry, started to hack up snot blobs at Krillian! Krillian dodged them all, while getting closer to elbow Bacterian in the face. When Bacterian went down, Krillian farted in his face, making Bacterian give up.

The crowd cheered as Goku and I jumped down to congratulate him. The announcer recounted the victory and gave Krillian more credit for being so young at the tournament, along with most of the crowd. We tried to see if Master was in the crowd, but Bulma and Purar denied him being there. We were a bit disappointed from learning that, but we had to get to the back so that the next fight could begin, Jackie Chun vs. Yamucha.

I went back to hang by my elbows on the wall while the boys did their encouragements. Yamucha and Jackie Chun came out onto the arena. Yamucha glanced at me and I gave him a thumbs up and a smile. I felt Goku hang next me, so I gave him a head ruffle to make him smile. We cheered along with our friends in the audience.

It was silent at first as the opponents seem to access each other. Then Yamucha sprang for to do a high kick in the air at Jackie, but Jackie dodged! Yamucha saw this failure so he did a flurry of attacks to try to get a hit on Jackie. Jackie taunted him to get Yamucha angry. It worked. Now Yamucha is going to use his special attack. I heard Goku explain to Krillian how strong Yamucha is, although I couldn't take my eyes off the match.

Yamucha attacked and finally made the old man move by jumping to the side to rebound of the opposite wall to land behind Yamucha. Yamucha was too surprised to move as Jackie back flipped to Yamucha to swipe the air to blow Yamucha out of the ring, getting him automatically out of the match. Jackie Chun won. The announcer described the amazement of the move while Yamucha was dazed.

The next match was mine.

I listened to the boys as they recounted the match just now. Then they cheered me on for my next match. I went on to the arena to face my opponent. He was very tan and dressed in robes.

I walked up to him to give him a handshake. I smiled when he did.

"We fight to the fullest to see who wins!" I said with a smile.

He agreed with me and we began the match. I charged at him with intent to punch him. He barely dodged my punch, which blew a gust of wind to the audience. Though I countered with my knee to his chest, but he started to back away so the damaged was reduced, but my force pushed him outside the ring and disqualified. He was dazed and I sweat-dropped at how short the match was.

Even the audience was speechless; I went to Namu to help him up. I smiled slightly to see he accepted my help. I lifted my hand again. He shook it with a sad smile and left. I walked back feeling like I did something wrong even as the boys congratulated me. I smiled through it anyways.

I went inside to get water when I saw Jackie was talking to Namu. As I listened I understood my guilty feeling and why Jackie was so familiar, he was Master Roshi. Though, I'm not going to act like I now knew. I moved away silently when the problem was solved, feeling better. I found Goku taking a nap on my way back, so I picked him up and carried him back.

I jumped when my friends rushed at me to wake up Goku. Apparently it was time for his match. To wake him up, I pinched his cheek. His eyes snapped open and he went on to his match. Yamucha and Krillian just stared at me.

"What? It's what I usually do if he doesn't wake up in time when we were younger."

They muttered to each other and shrugged it off. I hopped on the wall to see Goku get hit by Gilan's tail and crash into the wall. I burned in silent fury at the dirty trick, but Goku surprised everyone, but me, by getting up. My fury flames were wording off my friends that were watching with me on the wall, until Yamucha place his hand on my shoulder which actually sizzled. His yelp got me out of my fury trance. They all stared at me incredulous. I rubbed my head sheepishly and held out my hand.

"Trust me, I'll heal it. But please keep this a secret from everyone."

My hand was covered my Yamucha's larger hand, I noticed his face was a bit red. I let my healing abilities flow and cover his hand, healing it. Everyone around me looked at his, released hand, in wonder as I looked back at the match to see Goku throw Gilan out of the ring and far out in the air. I cheered but I deflated when Gilan flew back by his wings. I boo-ed when Gilan wrapped Goku in his Merry-Go-Round Gum. Gilan punched Goku and then threw Goku out of the ring and probably to the city. I yelled the only thing I could think of to help Goku,

"Think of clouds Goku!"

I deflated in relief when Goku came back on the Kintoun. I watched the dispute about the uses of the rubber substance and Kintoun. Goku can't use the yellow cloud again. I watched helplessly as Goku was about to get hit, but then I felt something slender and furry on my back. I looked at the small lump on my behind and I made a tear to see my tail. I immediately looked at Goku to see him hanging on Gilan's arm by his tail! I cheered while everyone was silent with shock, and my friends in horror.

I kept on cheering for Goku as he broke the rubber bounds with his strength. He tested his new acquired strength. Seeing that, Gilan gave up. Both me and Goku fell over.

After Gilan left the arena, Krillian and I jumped off the wall to see Goku. I ruffled his hair and silently asked to inspect his tail. He nodded and moved it over to my hands. I ignored the questions and checked his fur, tail length (which grew a bit), and finally …

I stood and used my tail to hook his and lifted him off the ground to see his durability. Goku laughed as he swung on my tail. Krillian yelled when he saw mine, as did everyone else. When Goku was done, Krillian and the announcer guy asked if our tails were real. Goku was going to pull down his pants, but I stopped him from doing so.

"Yes, they are real. Goku, you don't need to show everyone your butt to prove it. Just a verbal answer is fine."

"Oh, ok! Yeah, it's real."

I could hear a couple of relieved sighs from behind and in front of me.

"Oh, and Miss Kagome, what might be your age?"

I looked up to answer, "I'm 17, I think. I don't really know when my birthday is but I know it's around spring and Goku's birthday passed at the Beginning of Summer."

(don't really know their actually b-days, but please bear with me)

When the question of who our Master was, it surprised everyone. I would expect so from how awed our Grandpa sounded when he describe his Master. After the gossip passed, Jackie Chun came out. He wanted to be interviewed too so he did a dance and a song. Goku joined him, so I shrugged and did the same. It was fun.
