I awoke to shuffling. It was a distant sound at first then it grew louder. I heard the noise of a pen on paper. I opened my eyes and saw a dim light from the desk. Law had lit a candle and was writing something down.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I said with a yawn.

"Nothing, go back to sleep."

"It doesn't look like nothing to me."

Law sighed,"I had a thought come to my mind, I had to write it down." He continued scribbling,"Now go back to sleep."

"What was the thought?" I sat up on the bed.

Law set down his pen and turned to face me,"If you really want to know it's a medical procedure."

"A medical procedure just happened to come to your mind in the middle of the night?"

"Yes," He turned back towards his desk,"Now go back to sleep."

"I can't, come back to bed."

He turned towards me with a smirk on his face,"You want me to come back in bed with you?"

I felt my face turn bright red,"Um.. I…No! That's not what I meant!"

He laughed. No, this is weird. Law doesn't laugh, he chuckles occasionally, but laugh? What the hell is going on? Even so, It was a cute laugh.

"You just laughed."

"Yes, I am a human being, I do have emotions."

"It's just that… I have never heard you laugh."

"Really? I thought I laughed all the time at your stupid actions."

"Well excuse me! Are you aloud to be human, but I'm not?"

"Exactly." We both laughed.

I laid back down and I heard Law scribbling again. His room is nice and God he is cute. But this is also really awkward, maybe I should go back to my own room.

I got up from the bed,"Where do you think you are going?" Law asked without turning around.

"Well, I think I will go back to my own room." I headed towards the door, but before I could even get there Law appeared in front of me.

"No, go back to bed."

He moved fast,"Get out of my way Law." I tried to go around him, but he grabbed me and started pulling me back towards the bed. "Wow, you must really want me to stay," I grumbled.

"Yes, I do." Law laid me down and put a blanket over.

"Why?"

"Reasons." He went back over to his desk and sat back down,"None that are important to you." He opened up a book and skimmed through it.

"I think that since I am being kept prisoner in your room that it is important to me."

He sighed and put the book down,"No." He then blew out the candle and walked through the dark to the bed.

I felt him lay down and move into a comfortable position. I could hear him breathing. Oh, I longed to hear his heart beat. I smiled at the thought.

"Why are you giggling?"

"What? I didn't giggle!"

Law chuckled,"Yes you did, it was cute."

I felt my self blush,"Shut up and go to sleep." I turned away from him.

"Heh, whatever you say, pervert."

"I am not a pervert! humph! You are such a jerk!"

"You shouldn't call the captain a jerk," Law yawned.

"Whatever."

Soon after Law started snoring softly and I eventually fell asleep to the rhythm of his breathing.

"Hey Kathren, wake up. It's morning." Law was shaking me.

"Just five more minutes," I mumbled.

"You're going to miss breakfast," Law said with a tease in his voice.

"Oh, well," I picked up a pillow and covered my head with it.

Law sighed,"Well I'm going to drag you there then."

"I dare you."

I felt Law wrap his hands around me, he then picked me up.

"Hey!" The blanket and pillow fell to the floor. Law threw me over his shoulder,"What the hell are you doing!?" I struggled to get out of his hold.

"I told you I would drag you."

"Well you are carrying me not dragging."

"Do you want me to actually drag you?"

"Um, no."

"Then shut up."

"Fine,"I grumbled.

Law carried me to the dinning room and put me down. No one else was in the room and the table was set for two. There were candles lit and delicious smelling omelets on the plates.

"Wow, what's the special occasion? Everything is so fancy looking."

Law pulled out a chair,"Have a seat."

I cautiously took the chair, he pushed me in. "Law you are freaking me out."

"Good," he said.

"Can you please tell me what's going on?"

Law took the seat across from me,"Eat," he started eating.

"Um, Okay," I picked up the fork and started eating the omelet.

After we finished eating Law cleared the plates away.

"Are you going to tell me what's going on now?" I could hear the annoyance in my voice.

"Yes," Law sat back down,"It's about the power I thought you had."

"The power you thought I had? Does this mean I don't have any?"

"It seems to be that way. I can't figure you out."

He had a deep frown on his face. "Good, the mysterious I seem the better," I said.

"Hmm? You don't want to discover yourself?"

"Ha, nah, everything will fall in place eventually."

"That might take awhile."

"I know, but I have nothing but awhile! Anyways, don't you believe in fate?"

"Fate? Phh, don't make me laugh. That's just a bunch of lies."

"I disagree, I think fate has a lot to do with where I am now." And where I will be soon. Yes, I will become stronger…. "So when are we going to continue with the training?"

"Soon, don't fret over it. I am letting you take a break. You are exhausted and need to rest. So for now we will just do the mental training."

I groaned,"But that is soo boring!"

Law chuckled,"I know, I enjoy watching you suffer."

"You suck. So is the whole reason you did all this was to tell me I didn't have a power?"

"Yes and no," I gave him a confused look,"Let me explain. When I invited you to spend the night in my room I was testing you."

"Testing me for what?"

"Just shut up and let me explain."

"Geez, fine."

"Now this is going to sound creepy, but I wanted to watch you sleep. People can reveal a lot when they are sleeping, and you didn't give the energy that I expected. So therefore I came to the conclusion that you have no ability, just extremely lucky."

"Okay, I see. That makes sense… sort of. But what about the no part then?"

Law smirked,"Well everything else was just for fun."

….."Wow"…

"I like messing with you Kathren, you keep me entertained."

"Well, it's nice to know I'm good for something."

The door to the dinning room opened.

"Oh, Hey there you guys are!" Shouted Penguin.

"Yeah, we were searching everywhere!" Added Shachi.

"Why?" Asked Law.

"Land is just up ahead, captain!" said Bepo.

"Land? Good, let's dock," Law stood up,"Time to wreck some havoc."
