Hermione woke up that night with pains in her stomach.
"No, it's to early", she whispered to herself getting out of bed. She grabbed her wand and made her way down to Madam Pomfrey.
"Everything looks fine dear. I don't see any signs of labor, just sleep here and I'll monitor you", she told her.
"Okay, thanks", Hermione said laying down.
The next morning everyone was in a panic because Hermione had gone missing, or so they thought. Hermione went down to the great hall and everyone stopped and looked at her.
"Where have you been? We've been looking everywhere for you", Her mum said.
"Sorry, I woke up sick so I went to Madam Pomfrey and she gave me some medicine and let me sleep there. Sorry to have scared you all". She saw Draco and Narcissa's faces, she knew they thought Lucius had struck again.
A few hours later and everyone was on the train waiting to head home. Hermione couldn't believe this was the last time she'd be at Hogwarts, until her baby started. The train finally started moving.
"Ready to go home?" Her mum asked her.
"Yeah, I guess. I'm just gonna miss it. You know?"
"Yes, I know hunny. But I'm sure you'll be back here one day, after you've had children and they're all grown up", Hermione smiled and nodded. She stared blankly out the window the rest of the way. Once they got to Kings Cross Station, everyone said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
Hermione and her parents arrived home and she went and unpacked. Her mum got dinner started and she decided it was now or never.
"Mum, dad, can I talk to you please?" She asked coming down the stairs.
"Of course darling. What's up?" Her mum asked sitting beside her dad on the couch.
"Okay. You know how I went to Draco Malfoys for Christmas Holidays?" They nodded. "Well after being there a couple days, his psychopath father showed up and broke into the place with two of his goons. He wanted to kill us but make us suffer first", at this point she had tears forming and threatening to fall. "Well he made his two goons…" she trailed off, the tears flowing now. Her parents looked at her, worry clear on her face. "Well…" She stood up and lifted her shirt. Her parents gasped. Hermione was now hysterically crying, her mum got up and grabbed her in a hug.
"Is there more?" Her mom asked, looking at Hermione expression. She nodded.
"At St. Mungos, the wizard hospital, they checked and made sure everything was fine and gave me a potion to prevent me becoming pregnant. A week later I vomited blood and passed out so I was rushed back there. They had to flush all traces of the potion out of my system because I had a bad reaction to it which caused my stomach to bleed", she paused. Her parents looking so upset. "And… Because they had to flush the potion out of my system, they told me if there was any traces left I could become pregnant. And well, I clearly did. But I was able to hide it so no one at Hogwarts knows except the matron, a few teachers and Ginny", Hermione finished. She felt so much better having got it off her chest. Just then an owl tapped on the window. It had a letter from Ginny.
Hi Hermione!
I know it hasn't been very long since we saw each other but I talked to mum and we went to Diagon Alley and this owl is a baby and he's yours. So give him a name and write back. This way you can contact us at any time instead of having to wait for us to send a letter.
Love,
Ginny, xoxo
"Awe, that's so sweet of them", her mum said. Hermione nodded and grabbed parchment and a quill.
Hi Ginny!
That's so incredibly sweet of you guys. You really didn't have to, but thank you so much! I love him, he's so cute. I'm gonna name him Mystic, since he's black with some brown under his wings.
I told my parents about everything, they haven't really said much about it. I might need to floo over to your house if they don't take it too well. Or even just to visit.
Love,
Hermione, xoxo
"Hermione, we need to talk about this more", her dad said.
"I know. But I've decided I'm keeping my baby and it's my choice, please don't try to force me otherwise", she told them.
"Hermione, we would never do that. We know it's your choice. We just want you to make the right choice. Does Draco know?" She shook her head. "Why not? Her mum asked.
"Because I had to break up with him because of this. That broke his heart and I couldn't bear to ruin his life even more", she cried.
"It's okay sweetheart", her mum comforted her.
"I have to go to St. Mungos for my appointments though, there will be to many questions if I go to a hospital here", Hermione told them. "That's why I bought floo powder. I wish you guys could come though", she said.
"It's okay. Have Ginny meet you there. When is your appointment?" Her mum asked.
"Next week", Hermione told them. They nodded and then went to serve dinner. They ate in silence and Hermione felt that she wasn't as welcomed there as she was before she told them she was pregnant. She decided to pack a bag and floo to the Burrow after her parents went to bed. She wrote a note explaining how she felt and left.
Everyone at the Burrow was happy to see her but they didn't know why she was there so soon. She explained everything about how her parents were very distant and how she felt about it. They all comforted her.
Hermione wasn't due until mid-September but the night of July 30th just before midnight, Hermione woke up with excruciating pain in her stomach and her bed was wet. When she turned on the lights, she realized it was blood on her bed. She woke Ginny freaking out and Ginny woke her mum. They apparated to St. Mungos where they took her in right away to check her.
"Ginny, stay here, I'm going home to let everyone else know", her mum said and disapparated. A doctor came out and said Hermione was asking for Ginny. They allowed Ginny in the room as they told her what's going on.
"It looks like the placenta has detached from the uterine wall, meaning the baby will die if we don't do a caesarean tonight", he told her. Hermione nodded.
"Can Ginny be with me?" She asked, completely scared.
"Yes, of course", he said. They were on their way to an operating room when they saw Molly and the rest of the family.
"They have to get the baby out right now or it'll die", Ginny told them. They all looked scared and Molly was almost in tears.
"Can someone else come to?" Hermione asked the doctor.
"Yes, but we have to go", he said. Hermione told Ginny to tell her mum to come. They all scrubbed up and went into the OR. They froze Hermione from the chest down and started the procedure. "You might feel some pressure", the doctor told her.
