"You might feel some pressure", the doctor told her.

"Okay", Hermione said weakly. She was scared to death that she was going to lose her baby.

All of a sudden she heard cries pierce the silent room. Hermione breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's a boy!" The doctor said holding him over the canopy in front of Hermione's face. She smiled, tears escaping her eyes. The crying stopped and Ginny looked over. The baby was turning blue. "He's not breathing. Get him fixed up and to the NICU while I finish here", he told the delivery team. He went to close Hermione but stopped for a second. "Hang on".

"What's wrong with my baby?" Hermione cried.

"They're working on getting him breathing Hermione. Don't worry; they're doing everything they can. In the meantime, you have a second baby", he said. Hermione looked at Ginny who looked at Molly. Both holding each of Hermione's hands. "It's a girl", he said. But there was no crying. Hermione knew that wasn't good. Both babies were rushed to the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit. The doctor closed Hermione up and they took her to recovery.

"I want to see my babies", Hermione had started to cry again. Ginny and Molly were with her in recovery and doing everything they could to comfort her. The doctor would let Hermione know when the babies are stable, but she couldn't move for a couple of days otherwise she could rip her staples out. After a couple days of the natural healing process, they would be able to use magic to assist the healing process.

"Hermione, you'll see them soon. Right now you need to be brave for them. You also need to get some sleep hun", Ginny told her. After a long time consoling her, Hermione finally fell asleep. Giving Ginny and Molly the opportunity to go fill the others in.

"T-twins?" Harry and Ron stuttered.

"Yeah. But the first one, the boy, stopped crying and I watched as he was turning blue from not breathing. The second one, the girl, didn't move or make a sound at all", Ginny said, tears streaming down her face. "I have to go back in case Hermione wakes up. I'll see you guys later", Ginny said and speed walked back to recovery. When she got back there the doctor was waiting there, Hermione was still asleep.

"Oh, there you are. So right now, we've got both babies stable but there breathing isn't very good. Their lungs didn't fully mature because they aren't due for a month and a half, but we are going to do everything we can to keep those babies alive. Right now they're on assisted breathing and a feeding tube".

"Can't you use magic to heal them?" Ginny asked.

"Unfortunately not. Babies are too fragile to try using magic, it could kill them instead of make them better. And not just these two, every baby. Same reason we need to let Hermione heal for a few days naturally before assisting with magic", the doctor explained. Ginny nodded her understanding and sighed.

"Okay, thank you for the update doctor", Ginny said sitting beside Hermione's bed. After the doctor left Hermione opened her eyes and started crying again. "Did you hear all of it?" Ginny asked. She nodded. Ginny held Hermione's hand and they both drifted off into an uneasy sleep.

The next morning Ginny woke up to Hermione crying.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay. You're a fighter so we know they'll get through", Ginny told her. She nodded. "They have two strong parents, even if the father doesn't know", Ginny told her. Hermione nodded and moved over for Ginny to lie beside her. Ginny did so and wrapped her arms around Hermione. They laid like that and talked for a while when Harry and Ron came into the room.

"Hey Ginny", they whispered.

"You don't need to whisper", Hermione said.

"Sorry, didn't know if you were awake", Harry said, sitting beside the bed.

"Yeah, I think I've slept enough. I'm just trying to stay strong", Hermione said as Harry held her hand. Ron stood beside Harry.

"You're extremely strong Hermione. Not many people could go what you went through and be able to keep their child, or children", Harry told her.

"Yeah Hermione. None of us have ever been so proud of you", Ron told her. "I mean, we're always proud of you, but now, we are so much more", he added.

"Thanks guys. Where's everyone else?" Hermione asked.

"They're in the waiting room. Only two of us, besides Ginny, can come in at a time", Harry told her.

"Ohhh", she said in understanding. "If you don't mind, can you ask Molly and Arthur to come in please?" She asked the boys.

"Of course", Harry said. A few minutes later Molly and Arthur came in.

"Look who's awake", Molly smiled sitting down.

"Yeah. I just wanted to thank you guys so much for letting me into your house and taking care of me through all of this", she said, tears forming in her eyes threatening to fall.

"Oh Hermione dear, it's perfectly all right. We wouldn't have it any other way. You're the second daughter we never had", Molly laughed a little. This did it, Hermione's tears poured over the edges of her eyes.

"Thank you so much", she said. Molly and Arthur hugged her. "I was wondering if you could owl my parents and let them know what's going on? We've been owling back and forth since I left, I promised I'd let them know when the babies came. But being magical, I want to raise them in the wizarding world, keep them away from the muggle world for now. I'll obviously take them to see my parents. I just wish there was some way my parents could come to the wizarding world, passed Diagon Alley", Hermione sighed.

"Tell you what, I'm going to talk to the Minister for Magic and see if we can get them a pass to come visit whenever they want to", Arthur told her. This made Hermione smile and cry.

"Thank you so much", she said. Ginny just sat there listening to the conversation.
