No one was able to go back to sleep once Narain entered the house. Allen made more tea for the three of them as Narain told them, mostly Allen of his time away.

"I'm sorry leaving you the way I did Allen. I admit I was distraught and heartbroken but that didn't give me any reason to treat or talk to you the way that I did." Allen said nothing as he continued apology. Kanda was confused, to say the least.

Narain noticed the look of confusion on Kanda's face. "Pardon me, I haven't even introduced myself." Narain stood and held out his hand for the grumpy samurai.

Kanda stood and grudgingly shook his hand. "Kanda." Was all he said before he sat down again, Narain somehow didn't take it personally? He figured that Kanda was like that all the time.

Allen turned to Narain with a somber look. "Why did you leave the way you did Narain?" He looked at her before sighing and down casting his eyes towards the floor. "I'm sorry Allen but I'm can't tell you yet. I promise that I will, you have my word."

Allen made no sign of how she was feeling; her face was completely unreadable, to the average person. Kanda could see her anger and the sadness, because of his ability to read body language. Narain could tell he had hurt Allen again, being away from each had put a dent in their friendship but he could still read like when they were kids.

"Its still late, I'm sure you're tired from your flight, you should get some sleep." Allen stated blandly before rising to go back up the stairs. Narain nodded and stayed seated a little longer. Kanda watched, as he seemed to have an internal battle with himself, before leaving.

" I don't want to talk to you for a while, you'll only distract me." Allen woke up to the smell of fruit and pastries.

She slowly rose from her bed and checked the time. Her clock read 8:45, and she stepped out of bed as Timcampy flew onto her shoulder. Downstairs she saw Kanda meditating and Narain reading.

"Morning, did you all sleep well?" She asked. Kanda cracked open an eye and closed it again, Narain looked up from his book and marked the page he was on. "Good morning Allen, I did sleep well. I hope you did as well." He said giving her a hug as he spoke. "Is that Auntie Anita in the kitchen?" Allen asked as she was released from her hug. Narain nodded. "Yes she said she was making fruit crepes for breakfast."

"Allen you're up." Anita said with a spatula in hand. She gave her niece a bright smile at Allen's bedhead. Allen waved at her, still tired but was beginning to wake up. "I've made different kinds of crepes Allen. As well as some others for Narain and your friend." "Do you have chocolate and strawberry crepes too?" Allen asked, her sweet tooth was showing.

Anita giggled and held up a plate with two chocolate crepes, two strawberry crepes and two more crepes but were filled with both chocolate and strawberries. "There are also pancakes, some sausages and bacon, and lots of omelets, so maybe you can take some to go."

"Thank you very much Auntie. Will you be able to take me to the café this afternoon?" Allen asked as she went to take the plate of crepes. Narain and Kanda rose to eat in the kitchen with Allen and Anita. "I'm sorry Allen I can't, the restaurant needs me this afternoon." "That's okay I'm meeting Tara to discuss some things." She paused waiting to hear her aunt's reaction only to be hugged tightly.

"Allen that's great news!" Anita said happily "I'm so happy for you." Narain perked up at the name "Tara, Tara Becker?" he asked, Allen nodded her head. "That's awesome Allen, are you really going to accept her offer after so many years?" "She's left it open for me all this time and she seemed excited that I called." Allen shrugged as she devoured another crepe.

Reaching for an omelet, Kanda finally spoke up "Who is this Tara?" Narain spoke up "Tara Becker is a producer for the arts. She's been trying to get Allen to sign a contract with her since Allen was 12 or 13." Kanda's face hadn't changed but on the inside he was surprised by the information. He cast a side-glance to the white haired girl who was calmly sipping her tea with an empty plate in from of her. 'I'll have to ask about that later.

"Narain do you think you could take Allen to the café this afternoon?" Anita asked hopefully. She honestly didn't want Allen to go alone; she'd become paranoid ever since the incident. "I'm afraid I can't I have to go to a meeting for the incoming freshman." They all turned to Kanda, who stared back. Kanda was trying to suppress the urge to glare at them.

"What?" was all that he said, Allen went back to eating her meal. 'He does have a car, and we could pay him if anything were to happen.' Anita thought. 'He could probably scare off anyone without even trying. Maybe he could protect Allen while she's out.' Narain thought. Both of them 'hmed' as they continued to stare at Kanda, "Would you mind explaining why you two are staring at me like some sort of animal?"

Allen spoke up "They probably think you could be the perfect bodyguard for me on this trip." She paused and sipped her tea. Anita and Narain just stared at her 'Did she read our minds?' "Personally I don't care if you say yes or no, I'd go either way. If you say yes then you can be compensated for any troubles that may happen along the way." She turned to look at him. "The choice is yours."

A/N: I apologize for the extremely late update, I've had a bad case of writers block and the new semester started. Don't worry I have not given up on this story.
