Hermione thought for a few days about what she would write in her letter to Draco. She used a lot of ink and parchment trying to figure it out. Finally she decided on this:
Dear Draco,
I'm sorry I haven't written back. I've been torn about what I want or need to do. I've decided that I want to see you; I think it's been long enough, I think I could handle an afternoon with you. But I am reminded everyday of that night and I still have nightmares. I need you to understand this. The date I'm available is October 29th, so if you want to come see me, it has to be this day. I'm at Harry's new place, not too far from The Burrow. You can see it from the yard of The Burrow, the address is 8686 Burrow Place. Let me know if you will be coming. I'm available all afternoon.
Love,
Hermione
Hermione sent the letter and told Harry of the date. He booked the day off and asked Ron to fill in for him.
At Malfoy manor, Draco laid in his bed in pyjamas and looked through the album he put together of pictures of him and Hermione. Draco heard a tap on the window and saw it was Harry's owl, Hedwig, with a letter for him. He opened it and it was from Hermione. Draco read it and leaped off his bed.
"Mum!" He called.
"Where's the fire?!" She yelled, running through the door.
"There isn't one", Draco laughed. Narcissa smiled as she saw a smile on Draco's face, which was rare. "Hermione wants me to go see her", he said, showing her the letter.
"That's wonderful Draco! I knew she'd come around. She just needed her space", she smiled and gave him a hug. "By the way, you need to shower", she said scrunching her nose.
"Gee, thanks mum", he said sarcastically. He grabbed his stuff and went to the bathroom. He was so happy. He decided to shower and then have a bubble bath, that way any dirt would be gone and he could just relax in the bath. He stayed in the bubble bath for about an hour. Narcissa knocked on the door.
"Are you alive in there?" She asked.
"Yes mum. Just enjoying a relaxing bubble bath", he told her.
"Okay, just making sure", he heard her walking away. He got out of the tub and went back to his room to get dressed. He replied to Hermione's letter writing, I'll be there around 1:00 pm, and sending Hedwig off with it. He was surprised Hedwig had stuck around. 'I guess she wanted a reply', he thought to himself.
Hermione received Draco's response the next morning when she woke up. The twins had her up most of the night, but Harry helped out a few times. It was their first night at home, so Hermione expected it to be rough since they didn't have nurses doing everything.
"Harry, you're a life saver. Thanks for helping", she said, hugging him before sitting down to eat.
"You're welcome. It'll get me prepared for when Ginny and I have our own family", he laughed.
"True enough", she laughed with him. "Oh, Draco said he'll be here around 1:00 on the 29th".
"Okay. At least that gives you three weeks to prepare your mind", Harry told her. She nodded.
They finished eating and brought the babies to the living room and played with them for a little bit.
A/N: Sorry this chapter is a lot shorter than the others. Draco's back in the next chapter. Please review
