"Uncle?" Allen murmured. "Uncle Nea, the one who sent me the song when I was five?" Nea nodded. "That would be me-" his sentence was cut off by a fist to his face. Nea stared at his white-haired niece from his position on the ground. Allen was panting heavily, she sent a glare his way before turning around and walking the opposite way out of the room.
Cross grinned and lit a cigarette. "You deserved that." "I'm aware of that." Nea grumbled. Anita followed Allen into the next room hoping to calm her down. Cross huffed before speaking "I'm afraid that'll be it for now everyone, back to the main living room."
Everyone filed out, but Cross and Nea stayed where they were. Once everyone was gone Nea spoke. "Does she hate me?" a flicker a sadness passed through his eyes. "No she's punched me before, give her some time. She doesn't know anything about you other than the song you gave her. She still sings and plays it, by the way. It's like a warm up for her or something."
"She sings it?" Nea questioned as he stood from his place on the ground. "Yeah she gave it lyrics before the end of the month, when she first got it." Cross let his cigarette hang in his mouth, a smirk plastered on his face. "So there's a chance I could still have a relationship with her as her uncle?" Cross shrugged "Maybe. It may take some time but who knows, she's a lot different than when she was five." He walked out to entertain his other guests. Nea stayed and waited for his niece.
In the next room Allen was silently sobbing into Anita's shoulder. Allen had never lashed out t anyone like that before, and now her emotions were through the roof. She was so close to putting a good portion of her past in the deepest parts of her memory. Now her long lost uncle, the younger twin of her father, is back and so are the memories.
The fire, the blood, the searing pain, all of it was returning full force. Anita was doing her best to calm Allen down but she knew that words were useless when Allen got like this. When her niece stopped shaking Anita spoke "Allen, will you be okay?" Allen wiped her tears and her mask was back on. "Yes Auntie, I'll be okay. Right now I want to talk to Uncle Nea."
Anita kissed her forehead hoping to offer some comfort to her distressed niece. "Okay if you don't want him here, Cross will kick him out. Remember that okay, Allen." Anita walked out and told Nea that he could see Allen.
He cautiously looked into the room Anita left. Allen gave him a blank look "I'm not going to punch you again if that's what you're worried about. I've gotten it out of my system." Nea chuckled nervously. "I'm glad cause you have a serious right hook. Has Cross been giving you lessons?" "Yeah since I was four."
Nea hummed. "I'm sorry Allen." "For what?" "For not being there for you, or Cross, or Mana. I haven't been the best uncle these past couple of years." Allen shrugged. "I was thinking about you the entire time I was gone though. I was worried that something happened to you, I'm glad that you're alright Allen."
"Do I really seem alright?" Allen asked quietly "Well physically, you seem quite capable. But I'm not a mind reader or a psychologist, so I don't know what's going on in your head. I'm not going to ask you to share your thoughts or feelings with me Allen." She looked up at him slightly surprised "I believe I need to earn that, so I've got a long way to go before that I'm sure, but it'll be worth it if you ever decide to confide to me. You're my darling niece, Allen, and I want you to be happy."
Allen's eyes widened a fraction "If you being happy means that you don't want to see me anymore, then I'll leave. I'll quit my job at the Black Order, I had another offer anyway, I won't try to contact you and I'll disappear from your life, but only if you want me to."
Allen hugged him, surprising him more than when she punched him. "No please stay. I don't think I could handle losing anymore family members." She mumbled into his chest. "I'm glad" Nea smiled gently "I really wanted to stay."
