As per guidance, all reports shall be forwarded directly to you until further notice. What follows is my initial discoveries regarding your request to track possible [Redacted] activities, as well as any information about possible [Redacted] for these [Redacted].
Interest is almost immediately drawn to references provided from numerous military sources regarding the terrorist group referred to as the "White Fang". While the group as a whole is relatively taxed tech-wise, they have been identified as having a number of operatives that are for more capable than should be possible. After careful deliberation, it has been suggested that the group has somehow acquired [Redacted], and furthermore, [Redacted]. Taking this into consideration, I began a thorough investigation into the matter, and have identified a possible candidate for continued observation and possible recruitment. While normally this would seem absurd, this particular individual, henceforth referred to as [Redacted], has apparently left the group, for unknown reasons. We have attempted to track them down, and after a series of setbacks, no doubt a further testament to the ex-terrorists abilities, or at least that of the [Redacted], we have managed to track her to a small colony station on the Frontier.
We are already on route to the location, and have, pending your orders, decided to offer [Redacted] a clean record in exchange for their cooperation.
This hereby ends my report.

Is this really the only way? To simply leave my daughter in his hands? He may be my oldest friend, perhaps my only friend, now, but... I know him too well. He would sacrifice everything to protect the masses. His own life. The lives of his crew. If he could give it, I have no doubts he'd pay his own soul to ensure peace and prosperity for as many as possible. Sometime I think it's the presence of that aide of his... what was her name...
Still, to think he'd ask this of me. My only daughter, going off to war. A war against creatures humanity has had no large amount of contact with in far too long. He's right, in the end. Humanity is woefully unprepared. Our ships are meant to fight wars with each other, thinking beings. No uncaring hulks of flesh, bone and hunger. I can only hope my daughter is as strong as I hope she is. I can only hope she bears that same strength of heart as her mother...
Myrtle, forgive me. In the end, she follows so closely in your footsteps.
I can only pray that in the end, she does not follow you to the grave.

As per you instructions, I have, with much hesitation I might add, begun training the girl. While she is a novice when it comes to even the most basic of starship protocols, I can only describe her affinity for piloting the vessel she has so lovingly dubbed "Crescent Rose" as being instinctive. I hesitate to say she is a prodigy or genius of any kind, but unfortunately those words are rather fitting for the girl. I have no obvious answer as to why it is she seems so capable at handling the vessel(although she insists it is because, and I quote, "she treats her baby right"), but I will continue to observe the girl.
As for her track record during our exercises so far, she remains, when compared to the current graduating class of pilots, among the top ten percent. She might have gone even higher, if it weren't for her penchant for charging into situations with little planning whatsoever and merely reacting to situations as they come. She also shows a distinct lack of interest in any subject not pertaining to engineering of some kind, starships in particular being her main area of focus. While certainly useful considering our current situation, I worry for her future beyond this war.
I also feel it is necessary to inform you that I may have given the poor girl the misguided dream of joining the military.
Author's Note- Just something I thought up. I figure I'll do these extra little things every five chapters or so. Just to do a little additional world building behind the scenes of the main story. Not that this one does much world building(galaxy building?), but I already have an idea of what I'd like to do for the next one.
As always, comments, questions or concerns are always appreciated.
Until next time, keep dreaming.
