There wasn't a sound to be heard in the peaceful town of Mangolia. The rising sun was slowly bringing the town to life and the birds where just beginning to sing their morning songs to wake up the the people of the magical town however that was ruined with the yelling of the Dragneel siblings.

"COME ON ASHHHH LET ME GOOO! YOU KNOW I WON'T GET IN THE WAY!" Nashi exclaimed early in the morning whilst her brothers and Cora were heading out the door ready to meet Drake and Lexi.

"Nashi, this mission isn't for you, you still need to train. You are good but you got to get better before you can go on all the missions Team Ash goes on". Ash replied calmly trying to avoid having neighbors complain to his mother and father about him and his sister for the 1000th time. Nashi sat crossed legged on the floor pouting the way she knew her brother would be unable to resist. She couldn't believe that her brother tried to leave on a mission with their new brother without her. Her messy pink bed hair was everywhere and she was still in her pj's. "You're still in sleep mode Nashi" Ash said calmly. Nashi stuck out her tongue and enlarged her puppy looked at his sister and couldn't help but groan with frustration. As he slid his hands through his hair in trying to get his thoughts together before losing his lid and yelling at his little sister and waking up the whole block, he didn't notice that Ryo crouched down to meet Nashi's eyes.

"Yo, Nashi..." Ryo began. Nashi looked up at Ryo and gave him a goofy grin to make him help her convince Ash to take her with them. Ryo gave her a soft smile back and patted her head. "Look, this is going to be my first mission with Ash and it's going to be more a bro thing. This mission is also super dangerous due to the high pay which me and Cora , there has to be an older sibling to keep the twins out of trouble. Look... I promise when I get back you and me can go on a mission of your choice without Ash, how does that sound?" Nashi stayed silent for a good few seconds, a new record Ash thought, and looked back up at her older brother. She smiled and replied, "Pinky promise?"

"I pinky promise Nashi" Ryo said whilst holding out his pinky for his little sister. Nashi stood up and stuck out her tongue again at Ash and smiled at Cora before heading back into the house to sleep again.

"She's hard work" Ash said to his brother as Ryo stood up and brushed off his knees.

"I'm surprised she heard us" Ryo laughed as he began to walk to the train station with the two. Cora smiled at the how happy Nashi got when Ryo promised her special bonding time. He was becoming more and more brotherly and it's only been 2 days. She could tell that her best friend was becoming attached to his siblings. She wondered whether he would stay her or go back to Sabertooth with her. The thought of her best friend not coming back to their original home saddened her. But she couldn't be selfish. Ryo has been wanting to meet his mother for years and she doesn't want him to choose between her and the others. Her train of thought got interrupted with Ashton's form of greeting to the other members of Team Ash as they arrived at the train station. Cora could see the two figure waving their arms and dragging their luggage as they came closer to the trio. Drake had a small smile on his face, however, Lexi was as cold as she was at the party. Ryo could tell that his best friend was uncomfortable with the frosty reception from Lexi and put his hands on her shoulder to reassure her everything is fine. Ryo knew that Cora found it hard to make friends with girls and he didn't want her to crawl back into her shell due to Lexi. It took a good few years to get his best friend to the state she is now.

Flashback:

A young Ryo was swinging on the branch of an old tree as his best fried was sat on the floor leaning back on the old tree reading a book that she got as a gift from her father. Ryo was counting how many times he could swing around the branch whilst Cora was silent and concentrated in her book. Cora's eyes were completely covered by her bangs and she wore a black dress and had her down. She wanted to make herself as invisible as possible. She was awfully shy whilst Ryo would strut around in blue shorts, a white tank top and barefoot. They were the complete opposites.

Whilst Ryo was lost in his counting he didn't realise two girls of the same age approach Cora. One had blonde curly hair, blue eyes and dressed in a pink fluffy dress and the other had brown hair , green eyes and dressed in navy blue dress. Both had mean smirks plastered on their faces.

"Oh look Sienna, it's the creepy girl with scary eyes and she's trying to read" said the one in the pink dress. Ryo looked down to see what was going to happen. He didn't want to butt in too quickly, he had to see if his best friend was going to say anything.

"EWWWW, her eyes are so ugly. She's so scary looking. She's not beautiful like us Melissa". The one in the blue dress said as she pulled Cora's bangs back so that they could see her face clearer. Ryo still didn't move, he knew Cora got bullied but after their last talk about it she promised him that she was going to stand up for herself so he didn't have to save her every-time.

"Not with that Ryo?" Melissa asked in a dark tone. Cora looked her in the eyes but didn't reply. Instead she slapped Sienna's hands off her and continued reading as if the annoying pair weren't in front her. The two girls were clearly unamused by being ignored by Cora. Melissa slapped Cora in the face and pulled her hair back.

"I asked you a question demon eyes and I expect you to reply". Cora didn't try to get free instead she looked straight into Melissa's eyes.

"My name is Cora. Not demon eyes". Cora said quietly. Ryo couldn't believe that Cora was saying something to someone else than him. He was seeing her progress. Cora stood up and kicked Melissa in the stomach making her let go of Cora's hair. Melissa couldn't believe that her usual victim wasn't crying but fighting back. Sienna ran to her friend to help her up.

"You demon!" Sienna yelled and ran towards Cora to hit her but Cora grabbed hold of Sienna's fist and dragged her to the floor. Melissa couldn't believe what was happening and began to more angry at the sight of Cora fighting back. Sienna ran towards Cora who was ready for whatever attack coming her way. Cora grabbed Sienna by the throat and rose her to the sky.

"Don't call me demon eyes again" Cora said menacingly and threw Sienna to the ground next to Melissa. Cora picked her book from the ground and started to walk away. Ryo jumped down from the tree and ran towards his best friend.

"YOOOO! I can't believe you did that Cora! That was badass!" Ryo said whilst catching up to his best friend. Cora began to sprint off as Ryo began to get closer. He was confused by her actions and began running after her. He saw run to an alleyway and sped up. As Ryo caught up to her, he saw his best friend crouched on the floor with her hands covering her face. Ryo instantly knew what was up. As he got closer he could hear the silent sobs from his best friend. He put his arm around her and began to shush her softly. As Cora's tears began to stop she looked up to her best friend and asked, "Ryo, am I ugly? Are my eyes ugly?"

Ryo began to laugh, "Oh my gosh Cora. You can't seriously be asking me that. You have such awesome eyes, they are not ugly they look like rubies! And the last time I checked Rubies were pretty and valuable" He stroked the tears away from Coras face. "They only call you ugly and demon eyes coz they are jealous".

"They are jealous?" Cora asked confused at her friends statement.

"Yeah they are. They only bully you cos your special and pretty and they wished they could be you. Don't let them see that their words get to you ok? When you want to cry, hold it in until you reach my house and then you can cry all you want ok?" Ryo said whilst helping his friend up from the floor. Cora sniffed and smiled. "Also. Don't hide your eyes. They are pretty. Put our hair up and cut your bangs. The more you hide them the more they think that they are getting to you". Ryo added.

Cora nodded and began to walk home with Ryo. She couldn't stop smiling the whole way home.

Ryo had many moments with Cora where he had to convince her that she's actually pretty. He remembered when she got stood up for prom and she ran home so they wouldn't see her cry. He ran after her and was her shoulder to cry on back home. That was the day he told her that one day she will find someone who will see her beauty and never let her down and he hoped that he would come soon. Cora always acted heartless in front of people and as if their insults didn't affect her but when they got home, Cora would break down. She slowly became shy and isolated. She would only act as herself at her house or at Ryo's house but outside she looked menacing and was quiet. She couldn't make friends. But since they arrived at Fairy tail, Cora was herself in front of the fairies. She was still shy but she was slowly talking more and more. Ryo hoped that the Ice mage Lexi wasn't going to mess it up for Cora. That, he wouldn't forgive.

Ryo couldn't help but smile at the sight of best friend laughing along with his brother while Drake is trying to explain the plan for the mission. He hasn't seen her laugh so hard in a long time and whenever she is with Ash she would light up and the would warm Ryo's heart.

Ash and Cora couldn't stop laughing at the sight of Drake's annoyed face when Ash pointed out that Drake carries the same amount of luggage as his mother. Cora was crying of laughter and didn't realize that her face was completely covered by her black hair.

"Here, I always have hairband on my wrist for Nashi. You can have it, we can't have you hiding your pretty eyes from the world" Ash said softly as he handed Cora the hairband. Cora took it, thanking him whilst she tied up her hair in a ponytail.

"Hey! That''s so much better! Now we can all see your ruby eyes much better!" Ashton exclaimed whilst having his goofy grin plastered on his face. Cora couldn't help but smile a little. He was the second person to call her eyes rubies.

Ash's point of view:

"Alright since we are all here, LET'S START WALKING!" I yelled as I turned around to facing the exit of the train station. There was no way in hell was I getting on a train, I'm not gonna make myself look like a fool in front of everyone.

"OH NO FLAME BRAIN! WE DIDN'T COME HERE TO JUST MEET! WE ARE GETTING ON THAT TRAIN WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!" Lexi yelled whilst grabbing my collar and dragging me to the train.

"OHHHH COME ON! RYOOOOO YOU DON'T WANT TO GET ON A TRAIN DO YOU?" I asked my brother hoping he was going to agree with me since he would get motion sick aswell.

"Oh it will be a pain but it's the quickest way so we just have to suck it up Ash. Let get on that train!" He replied in motivated tone giving me a thumbs up.

"TRAITOR!" I yelled at him as he got on the train along with Cora and Drake. Lexi was still dragging me on. "NOOOOO LET ME WALK! LET ME WALK!" I yelled trying to break free from Lexi's hold. I would have easily broke free if we weren't near transport but knowing I'm being forced into a train made me weak at the knees.

"OH HELL NO ASH BREATH! WE ARE GETTING ON THIS TRAIN! IF YOUR BROTHER CAN SUCK IT UP THEN SO CAN YOU!" Lexi yelled as she thre me on the train. "Sorry for all the commotion people!" Lexi apologized to the people at the train station watching the struggle of getting me on the train.

"Here we go" Drake announced as the train began to depart. Ryo was resting his head on the train window with his eyes closed trying to distract his mind from the fact that we are on a mode of transportation. Drak was sat next to him writing thing on the map of Rose Garden, town of magic, Whilst Cora was sat on the opposite side of the boys distracting herself with a book. I made my way and sat next to her.

"How...do...you...do...it?" I asked her trying not to throw up.

"I just read and not think about it. Here lay your head on my lap" Cora said without looking up. She was so into her book. I took up her offer of laying my head on her lap and felt a bit better. I didn't want to throw up as much before. Her smell devoured my nose. She smelt of books, coffee and lilies. Like mom, but mom had a mix of tea and roses. Lexi made her way to Drake and started her yapping.

"We can stay at this hotel when we arrive and then in the morning go to the shops to buy equipment. If we go in the night it will look suspicious. No one shops for equipment at night unless they are up to something" She said to Drake. I tried to drown out her talking but it was impossible, the ice freak couldn't shut up.

"OI! SHUT UP I'M TRYING NOT TO THROW UP!" I yelled with my eyes shut still, I know if I open them I will throw up and the last thing I want to do is throw up on Cora after she nicely offered me her lap.

"Fine" Lexi replied. I was surprised she didn't fight back. She usually did. But she didn't say anything. Her tone was almost sad. I couldn't see her face but I could feel that something was bugging her and making her sad. I wonder what it could be. I don't want Lexi to be sad. As much as I hate the girl, she still part of my family and I don't want something upsetting her. Even though she is as old as the bottom of the ocean, she still had this spark in her that made her interesting. I wonder what's bugging her.

Lexi's POV:

What is happening to me. Seeing him on her and with her was making me want to freeze the whole train but why? I can't stand the red eye girl. She annoyed me so much. Her breathing alone makes me want to stab her with an icicle. But why? What is it about her that makes me hate her so much. It's not like she did anything to me in the first place. I don't feel the same towards Ryouga.

Drake finally fell asleep along with the others. I looked over to my left and saw the booth next to us was empty, so I got up and sat closest to the window. I watched as the train made it's way through the night. The moon was beautiful and moving trees brought me some peacefulness. I don't know what's going on with me. I have lost the ability to fight back when I argue with Ashton.

I refered to him as Ashton and not Ash, Flame brain or Ash breath. Why do I feel so distant with him when he is right next to me. Why are tears falling down my face? Why am I so emotional? Am I ill?
