Chapter 68
Chill
A snowy day was a wonderful day to be spent together with friends. However, a blue-haired boy was walking slowly, seemed lifelessly, toward the street. His eyes had no gleam of expression, seemingly it had lost its light.
Ken had read ton of romantic, yet angst-genred book lately, which caused him to be drawn really deep in the plot. Mostly, the books were containt stories that one character was ditched from the group, or his/her bestfriend, or even his/her couple, because of something.
Here, he was, walking down the street. He had nothing to be done, and his mind was wandering around. Tamachi wasn't really far away from Odaiba, but he felt that his friends were rather playing at Odaiba than visiting him here. He had a thought to visit them, but his parents were leaving, that he had to keep the house safe.
He darted his eyes to the park bench, in which then he sat on it slowly. It was then until he realized he went out without jacket or even scarf in the cold day!
At the same moment, a goggle-boy had appeared from the Tamachi's station. Daisuke was visiting Ken in secret, so that Ken would be surprised to see his sudden appearance here. Grinning, he sneaked out the crowd and walked calmly to his friend's house.
Some snow fell from the branch of tree. The loud sound was enough to make Daisuke shifted his gaze. It was a fateful move ; he then realized Ken was sitting near there. He was sure it was Ken, but he wondered why such a genius boy would go out in winter without thick and warm clothing?
He had no time to think about it. He rushed down the stairs, jumping the fences, and managed to sit right next to him. He then heard his mumble.
"… I'm alone…"
"You're not!" the sudden yell, full of determination was caught in Ken's hearing, causing the boy to cringe and look beside him.
"Ken! What are you doing outside here?!" Daisuke yelled, his gloves were already off from him, and he had settled it down at Ken's palm, which was really cold as ice.
It was then when Ken realized how cold outside here. He shivered, his arms wrapping around him.
"I… I don't know… I think you guys will not come here-" the words were shattered in to pieces as Ken's doubt was gone away. Daisuke was here.
"Sorry for not calling you before," Daisuke hugged him, sharing his warmness so that Ken would not be frozen here.
Feeling embarrassed, Ken managed a shy smile.
"Thanks…" he said slowly.
"Well, I can't believe how fool you are…" Daisuke scoffed, but then he took off his jacket and gave it to Ken, who wore it reluctantly.
"How about you?" he asked.
"Better sharing two colds than one suffers hipotermia and another one is healthy," he grinned.
"Come on! I'll cook some ramen for you!" with his words echoing through the wielder of Kindness, Daisuke shoved Ken all the way to his house, both even had to laugh about how silly Ken was.
