"Erm… so…" Remy clapped his hands, changing his weight from one leg to the other awkwardly. He was in front of his physical education class, without Scott for the first time. The kids stood side by side, all of them waiting for instructions. Somehow, they reminded Remy of little soldiers with their strict discipline. Even their training uniforms were in perfect shape. Remy glanced at his own wrinkled shirt and ripped off jeans, and felt like laughing out of nervous. "Hello, class."

"Good afternoon, Mr. LeBeau." They all answered in unison.

He raised his hands in front of him. "Wait, wait. Ok, I know things with Scott worked in a way. But since I'm goin' t' teach you now, I think we need t' feel a little more comfortable about dis. At least, I need t' feel more comfortable about dis. First thing then: no callin' me Mr. LeBeau. Makes me feel like…" 'Like mon père.' He thought sadly. "Like an ol' man. Call me Remy. Second: please, relax. Ya'll standing so stiff I could mistake y' for statues. Dis is not the army." Some of the kids giggled and exchanged animated looks among themselves, making Remy a little relieved.

Remy took the program Scott gave him from the bench he left it and checked what was planned for the day. He nearly yawned at the sight of Scott's well-written notes.

"Alright. It seems y' got t' run around the field three times now." The kids only blinked at him in return. "So? Start."

"No stretching?" The boy with greenish skin asked.

"Oh, yeah! Nearly forgot about dat. Merci… what's your name again?"

"Wilson Rivers, sir."

"Remy. Call me Remy. Ok, kids, y' heard Will. Stretch and then run around the field three times. Go." Remy sat on the grass and started playing on his mobile while the kids did what they were told. Fifteen minutes later, though, one thing caught his attention. Bobby exited the mansion and walked to the woods alone, constantly looking over his shoulder and to the windows. Remy quirked an eyebrow and watched as he disappeared in the woods. He was wondering about how suspicious the Iceboy's behavior was when he saw Lorna coming out of the mansion as well. She strode to the woods, in the same direction Bobby had gone. Remy narrowed his eyes. 'So much for the jealousy…' He thought, remembering Bobby's angry glares whenever he was around Rogue.

"Mr. LeB… Remy?" A tiny blond girl called his name. "We're done!"

Remy gave one last glance to the spot the couple had disappeared, and then turned back to his students. 'I got nothing t' do with dat.'

The class was as boring as he could take, meaning he probably did everything right. He even dismissed the class at the right time. 'I'll have t' do dis two times a week. God help me.' He thought, picking up his stuff and entering the mansion. There, he found Jubilee, Piotr, Kitty, Rogue, and Sam, the latter holding a basketball in his hands.

"Remy! You came just in time!" Jubilee beamed. "We need one more." She nodded to the group.

Remy smirked mischievously. "Your room or my room?"

Incredible as it may seem, even Jubilee blushed, making Sam laugh loudly. "That is something I never thought I'd see. Jubilee without words." The blond boy messed Jubilee's hair and she slapped him.

"On the basketball court outside, swamp rat." Rogue took the ball from Sam's hand and threw it to Remy, who took it. "Or are you only an indoor player?" She asked seductively, crossing her arms. Kitty giggled silently.

"I can play wherever y' want, chérie. Just name a place and we go." Remy's voice was suddenly filled with such charm that everyone, except Rogue, seemed to feel a little awkward about standing in the middle of their conversation. Even Rogue was left speechless for a second, but she was quick to put a grin on her own face.

"So let's go outside." She whispered. Remy's eyes glowed and she was suddenly worried this flirting wasn't going to end the way she had planned.

"Are we still talking about basketball?!" Sam asked loudly.

"Basketball?" Lorna's voice came from the front door. "Oh, can I play too? Please?" She hugged Jubilee and pleaded with her eyes.

"Of course. We were looking for you! Where have you been?"

"I was taking a walk. Getting some fresh air." Lorna answered with a smile.

'Sure.' Remy thought, but kept his mouth shut.

"Ok, so we have the same problem as before: one person missing." Piotr said.

It was when Bobby came through the door. He stopped in his tracks when he saw all of them reunited, with a slightly scared expression on his face. Remy rolled his eyes at how discreet the boy could be.

"Bobby could play." Lorna said, her smile still wide. Everyone else, on the other hand, turned to look at Rogue.

"I could play, if it's ok." Bobby said to her. Rogue just shrugged.

"Of course it's ok, Bobby. You're our friend, it's not like ya need mah permission to play. Chill." Rogue managed to smile and he clearly felt a weight removed from his shoulders.

The group headed to the basketball court and divided in two teams: Lorna, Bobby, Sam, and Piotr; and Jubilee, Rogue, Kitty, and Remy. They started heating and Bobby approached Remy.

"So, can you play basketball Gambit?" He asked dryly.

"Kind of." Remy pulled his hair back, tied it, and grinned.

"I hope you can. I, Lorna, Pete and Sam are the best team around here."

Jubilee rolled her eyes. "Will you do that speech every time we friggin' play? I don't think you are the best, so what?"

"So that we are the best, Jubs. It's a fact." Bobby stated.

"Wanna bet on that?" She challenged him.

Pete and Kitty looked at each other alarmed.

"Petite, it's not very nice of a girl t' make bets." Remy raised his eyebrow at Jubilee and smirked. "Perhaps Iceboy wants t' bet with moi."

Bobby hesitated for a second but nodded. "What do I get if I win?"

"Yer choice."

"Good. Your whole team will have to state I beat you in the match, and you will be wearing Jubilee's yellow dress… in front of the whole mansion. What do you say?"

Remy chuckled and raised his hand. "I promise. But if I win, I'll take Rogue t' the Halloween Ball. Deal?"

Everyone's head turned to Rogue, who turned her head to Remy, nearly snapping her own neck.

"What?!" Bobby and Rogue said in unison.

"Are y' scared of losin'?" Remy teased.

"No way! It's a deal." And they shook each other's hand. Bobby turned and called his team for a chat.

"Are ya crazy? How dare ya betting meh?!" Rogue flared at Remy.

"Chérie, it's not dat bad. Or at least it's better than if he wins."

"Ah got serious doubts." She whispered.

"Y' will not let him win. I feel it." Remy grinned and stood. "So team, let's do dis?!" Remy said a few words to the girls to motivate them and they went to the middle of the court.

Bobby's team got to start with the ball but Remy's team was the first one to score. Jubilee and Remy were really fast players, but it wasn't very easy to get through Bobby and Lorna. Rogue was the best one to dribble so far, although Sam often made things harder for her, and she avoided getting too physical. Kitty wasn't much of a player and seemed to be a bit scared of the ball, but Piotr played decently, blocking and scoring easily. The match was even until the last minute, when Jubilee passed the ball to Rogue, who was free in the middle of the court. She took the ball and froze. There were only a few seconds left and she gave a quick glance to Remy and Bobby. Both of them seemed to be paralyzed. She took a deep breath at the same time Remy held his. She threw the ball and it went straight through the hoop.

Jubilee ran to her and kept jumping, screaming. "We won! We won! You made us win!"

Kitty slapped Remy's hand and he walked to Bobby, who just stared at Rogue in disbelief.

"As Jubilee's saying, we won, mon ami. See y' at the ball." He smirked and waved at him, then went to Rogue's side. "Nice match, chérie."

"You better not make meh regret this, swamp rat, or Ah'll gut ya." She said that but a smile played on her lips when she saw Bobby's face.

At night, Rogue was sitting alone in her room since Jubilee went to the movies with Sam. A loud knock on her door broke her attention from the book she was reading. She was about to get up to open the door, when Bobby came inside without waiting for a response.

"What was that?" he closed the door and crossed his arms.

"Couldn't ya wait for meh to open the door?! And what are you talking about?" Rogue asked and stood up.

"The basketball game. Why did you accept going to the party with that Gambit guy?" His voice seemed to be holding back a lot of anger.

"Bobby, as far as Ah'm concerned, Ah didn't accept going to the ball with him. You lost your bet, and this was his prize, according to yerself. You had it coming." She shrugged.

"You could have lost that ball and let us win then!"

"So we would have to humiliate ourselves in front of all the people in the mansion. Ah don't think so, sugah. Ah'm loyal to my team, and friends." She narrowed her eyes and sat down again, focusing on her book. "If that's all you…"

"No, it's not! What's going on between you and him?" Bobby decided to go straight to the point.

Rogue's jaw dropped and her eyes grew wide. "What?!"

"Since this guy got here, he talks to you like you knew each other from before, and he is around you all the time. How do you expect me to believe there is nothing?" He grew more agitated at each word.

"What are ya insinuating Bobby? There is nothing between us. Ah told you we bumped once at the mall, and that's all that happened. Now, he lives in this house too, so it's not like Ah can treat him as part of the decoration. He is a person like any other."

"I don't see anyone else flirting with you!" He shot back, and even though Rogue tried not to show it, it hurt her badly.

"Remy only does this to irritate meh, and you should know it already." She muttered, trying to control her own anger. "Is this how you trust meh?"

"You want me to trust you? We barely took a break and you're going on a date with him!"

"It's not a date! Anyways, how long did it take for ya to ask Kitty out after our break? Please, tell meh Bobby!" Rogue was getting mad at this ridiculous speech he was doing, and how hypocrite he sounded.

"C'mon, Kitty is just a friend." He rolled his eyes and sighed.

"So is Remy." She stated.

"Yeah, we both know he wants much more than this. And you are giving it to him!" Bobby said exasperated.

"Don't be ridiculous! Ah'm not giving anything to him. He can't have anything from meh! No one can!" She screamed, her frustration coming out all at once along with her tears. Rogue didn't even realize she had stood up. "You always did everything as you felt like, and Ah never complained about it, even if it hurt meh. So who do ya think you are to say how Ah'm supposed to live? " She clenched her fists, her body shaking with anger.

"I'm you boyfr…"

"No, ya're not! You are not mah boyfriend anymore, remember? So leave meh alone and get outta mah room. Now!" Rogue walked past him and opened the door rudely. He looked at her completely startled. "Ah'm not saying it again Bobby. If ya don't leave, Ah will."

"Rogue, don't you dare leaving this room before we finish this talk."

"Yeah? Watch me!" She closed the door with all her strength behind her and went to the garden. She wondered if Bobby would come after her but he didn't. 'Typical of him.' She thought, while sitting under the old oak she liked so much.
