Chapter 03

"I just had a thought Mars," Cosmos said. Mars rolled her eyes. "Meanie!" pouted Cosmos crossing her arms over her chest becoming the Usagi of old for a moment.

"What?" Mars asked.

"Before all this happened," Cosmos began, "How were you able to read the Sacred Flame if the Shrine along with the flame was destroyed in the Great Freeze before Crystal Tokyo was formed?"

"After Crystal Tokyo was formed, I had wondered about the flame too," Mars told her. "One night Phobos and Demois came to me in a vision. It had been so long since I had seen them in their human forms I almost did not recognize them. They were familiar but I could not remember from where. They were also fairy size," Mars smiled. "They told me I needed to relight the Scared Flame and I asked them how since it had been destroyed in the Great Freeze. Phobos and Demios touched my hear and told me the fire was never gone but always within my heart. The fire at the Shrine was the same one that had burned on the Moon and on Mars." The girls looked at her amazed. "Yeah I do not know how the flame got to Earth either but it has been burning long before I was born."

"Well go consult your heart," Venus told Mars.

Jupiter shook her head. "Venus we know what you mean but have no idea what you are trying to quote."

"First we need to get out of Elyisan and back to what is left of the Palace," Mars told the group.

"So what did you find out," Moon asked Cosmos once they group returned.

"I will tell you what happen to Helios and your father while Mars consults the fire," Cosmos told her daughter as Mars walked away.

"So what now Cosmos?" asked Mars.

"We go to the Moon Palace," Cosmos stated calmly.

"The Moon Palace?" questioned Venus.

"You know I resurrected it year ago when we beat Beryl," Cosmos reminded her blonde twin.

"Yeah but Usagi and the Asteroid Senshi train there. There are no people," Venus stated. "Though there are no people here either," she thought bleakly.

"We can regroup and plan," Cosmos stated. "Maybe mother can help," she thought.

"Uranus and Jupiter do not look so good," Mercury stated.

"We need to go now!" Pluto informed the group as she and Saturn were trying to hold off the ooze monsters. As the ooze monsters swarmed in on the Senshi Saturn used her Silent Wall to hold them off as they powered up.

"Cosmic Power!"
"Mercury Planet Power!"
"Mars Planet Power!"
"Jupiter Planet Power!"
"Venus Planet Power!"
"Pluto Planet Power!"
"Uranus Planet Power!"
"Neptune Planet Power!"
"Neo Moon Power!"
"Ceres Asteroid Power!"
"Juno Asteroid Power!"
"Vesta Asteroid Power!"
"Palla Asteroid Power!"

"Saturn," Neo Moon yelled, "grab my hand!"

"Saturn Planet Power!"

As soon as Saturn grabbed Neo Moon's and Pallas' hand there was a bright flash of light and the Senshi disappeared as the ooze monsters crashed in on each other.

The Senshi landed on the Moon, Ceres asked "I thought you said Cosmos could transport us here by herself?"

"She could," Moon replied

"If she had," Pluto began.

"Then I would not have the power to do this," Cosmos said holding the Ginzuishou before her. She closed her eyes as the crystal glowed. The light washed over the entire Moon restoring the Moon Kingdom to its former glorying including the plants and running fountains.

The few scattered clusters of survivors in Crystal Tokyo looked to the sky as they saw the Moon glow with a strange light. When the people saw the light were asked about it they would say they felt safe when they saw the light but could not explain why.

The spirits of Helios, Endymion and the Shitennou could not see the Moon from Elysian but knew things would work out. "They are going to save the Earth," said Tigereye.

"They always do," Hawkeye smiled.

"They are the Senshi after all," Fisheye agreed.

"We owe the Senshi and Helios our lives," Tigereye stated. "If they need us we are here to help." Hawkeye and Fisheye nodded in agreement.

When the light of the crystal faded and went back into her body Cosmos turned and smiled to her Senshi. "That was simple," Cosmos stated. Then her face went blank and her eyes rolled back in her head as she fell to the ground.

"Cosmos!" yelled Pluto running to her love.

"Mama!" Moon came up on the other side of the fallen queen.

"She still under estimates the power drain after all this time," Mars said with a slight smile.

Saturn held her hand over Cosmos. "She just needs to rest for a while." When the other Senshi looked at her strangely causing Saturn to sigh, "I am the Senshi of Death remember. I can tell when Death is coming for someone and she is not coming for our Queen just yet."

Later Cosmos woke up and her head was spinning. "Can someone stop the Earth from spinning please," Cosmos asked trying to sit up. Pluto smiled and let out a giggle.

"Why am I in Mother's room?" Cosmos asked.

"Do you remember what happened?" Pluto replied.

Cosmos thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah but that does not explain why I am in Mother's room."

"You are our queen," Pluto smiled.

"This is too weird," Cosmos told her, "Thinking of Mother's room as mine."

"And your old room is now Moon's room just as the Inner's rooms are going to be the Asteroid Senshi's. Your Senshi are going to take the rooms near you." Pluto told her.

Suddenly Cosmos' eyes went wide. "Moon gets my old room?" Cosmos asked quietly. Pluto nodded and was almost knocked over as a white blur flew by her. Breathing hard Cosmos reached her old bedroom from the Silver Millennium. She threw open the door surveying the room intently. Seeing Moon in the closet Cosmos sprung like a tiger. "Move spore!" she yelled knocking Moon aside closing the closet doors and locking herself inside.

"What just happened?" Moon asked stunned.

"Cosmos just locked herself inside Moon's closet," Pallas said matter of factly with a nod.

"I always wondered where she kept it back then," Venus chuckled as she walked in.

"I think the question should be why there a lock on the inside of the closet," Juno asked.

"Has anyone seen a white whirlwind?" Pluto asked coming in with her hair all a mess.

"Closet," Mars stated.

Cosmos turned on the light. "I know it is still here," she thought as she felt along the wall. "It has to be if I restored everything to the way it was." Cosmos smiled as her fingers found a button and a small hole appeared in the wall. She slid her hand in the hole and pulled out a pearl colored book holding it close to her chest, smiling.

The Senshi heard rumbling in the closet as they kept trying to get the closet doors open. "Cosmos," Mars yelled. "If you don't open this door I will get Jupiter to kick it in."

"Don't worry," Mercury put a hand on Moon's shoulder. "We will get you a new door if that happen." Mercury paused and gave a crocked smile. "Okay we would probably just need to get you a whole new closet."

"If that does not work then Uranus will throw her World Shaking at the closet," Mars yelled. The Senshi heard the locks on the closet click and then Cosmos emerged clutching a book to her chest.

"That is what I got knocked down for," Moon exclaimed.

"If you have your old clothes," Moon said, "What am I going to do?"

"I will worry about that later," Cosmos stated grimly remembered the situation. "None of us have a need for fancy clothes right now. Battle wear is all we need now."

"Cosmos," Pluto said coming up behind the solemn queen. "What is on your mind?"

"How are we going to win this time?" Cosmos asked looking at Earth as more and more of the sphere was slowly turning black from being consumed by the ooze.

"Mercury wants to hold a meeting in the War Room," Venus said from the doorway.

"Let's go," Cosmos said and turned from the window. She grasped Pluto hand tightly as they walked down the hall.

The ooze monsters conversed with each other in a language not understood by humans. "We feel this planet is weak," one said. "We feel the protectors have fled this planet."

"If the protectors have left then why the inhabitants still go on?" asked another.

One ooze creature stood tall. "We over powered the males protecting this planet and their females ran. The rest of the planet will fall to us quickly."

"Where is Mars?" Pluto asked as she and Cosmos entered the War Room.

"She said she was going to consult the Scared Flame," Venus answered. "What have you found Mercury?"

Mercury typed furiously on her computer. "All the data I have gathered is still being complied by my computer. It does seem that this enemy is unlike any we have faced before."

"Wow," Uranus smirked, "Thanks for stating the obvious Mercury." Neptune sighed and whacked the blonde warrior on the back of her head. "Owww," Uranus grumbled, "What did you do that for?"

"Shhh," Neptune ordered her lover, "let Mercury continue."

"From what I have determined they have no bigger plan like Beryl or Galaxia," Mercury continued.

"So what," Neo Moon asked, "The ooze monsters just want to turn the Earth black."

Mercury nodded. "That could very well be their only goal."
