That stupid frying pan

A/N: I did say it would return, and here it is. So before school starts back up, I might be able to post more. Any questions?

Shadow's POV

"We've gone over this at least three times, I refuse to transform just so you can experiment."

"All I need is a blood sample, and maybe a tip of your horn, please." She pleaded, latching onto my waist.

"That's not a good idea, at all. Need I remind you I can't control my actions while I'm in that state?" I retorted, causing her to pout. I hate it when she does that, it's practically unbearable for the most part.

"C'mon, just a tiny sample." She begged once more, now giving me the puppy dog eyes.

I sighed and pried her off me, replying, "No, besides don't you have something else to test…that doesn't involve me getting a needle stuck in my arm or strapped to a table. Matter of fact, something that has nothing to do with me except being supportive."

She frowned and left either swearing in Russian or whimpering in defeat, probably both. Reclining on the couch, I closed my eyes only to hear a slight shuffling and growling. Opening my eyes and glaring at the soldier in front of me, I said, "Leave. You have no business here."

"With all due respect, sir, Black Doom has requested your royal butt to a conference." He replied, kneeling before me.

Maybe giving Female my blood might not be such a bad idea, anything to get out of a conference with him. "Tell him I refuse to come; I have more important things to worry about."

"Oh really? What, pray tell, do you have to do that's so important to blow off a conference with your own father?"

"Let's see, I have a family not to mention a life, and don't you ever call that worthless piece of shit my 'father' again."

"Well someone has parental issues. Didn't mom tell you not to swear in front of us?" Bryce questions, ignoring the glare I was giving him.

"She said it was completely fine as long as you don't say it. But then again someone as insane as…" I was interrupted by having something metal crash against my skull. Rubbing the spot where I was hit, I turned towards her, yelling, "A nice tap on the shoulder would've sufficed, not a whack from a fucking frying…"

Striking me again, she stated, "I did tell ya not to, besides frying pans get the point across jus' fine."

"Yes, along with a concussion. As I was saying, I refuse to go to that conference whether he likes it or not." I said, turning back to the soldier.

Mumbling something under his breath, Steve left, which caused me to wonder why Female didn't obsess over him. I shrugged and threw a vial at her; staring at it for a while she squealed and ran back to the lab. She's crazy, but I guess crazy and insane go together. Turning back to my son, I asked, "Are you just going to stand there gawking at me?"

He shook his head, saying, "No, but who were you talking to?"

"Steve, he's an underling sometimes a messenger. Not really that important."

"So what was the conference about and why aren't you going?"

"Me becoming king of my race, I'm not going because we've been over this a million times."

His eyes shined, as he exclaimed, "So you're a prince, but why wouldn't you…"

"It involves leaving you guys and destroying Earth, and I'm done with my past. I refuse to leave my family for a position as worthless as that." I retaliated, ruffling his hair.

"But you can have power and we can always move, right?" He questioned.

"Power isn't everything, boy. If we did move then they'll devour you like the scum they walk on."

His smile fell, as he uttered sheepishly, "Oh."

"There are major consequences of becoming king, not to mention it's a painful transformation." I stated, feeling IT pound against my chest. He nodded and left running a hand through his hair.

They're so innocent and practically fragile; I'm not ready for them to see the other side of me. I'll admit, I hate holding this in but if it's to keep everyone safe I will. Feeling someone run into me, I looked down to see Sandy with the widest smile she could muster.

"Have fun analyzing my blood?" I asked, as she nodded still maintaining her smile.

"But that still doesn't answer the question of how you control your energy." She replied, letting go of me.

I raised my hand and pointed to the ring around my wrist, stating, "Inhibitor rings, it's more like a limit of how much energy I can expel along with how much strength I can use."

"But that doesn't explain how you can snap someone's spine."

"That was from training, and it's quite intriguing how truly fragile mortals are."

"So, does this mean I can perform tests on your mentality?" she asked, her eyes shining in admiration and adoration.

"Possibly, as long as it has nothing to do with needles." I answered, causing her to hug me once more.

"It won't, after all it's jus' a look inside your subconscious." She replied, as her tail sliced the air, reminding me of an excited dog.

I nodded briefly before she left, more than likely to continue messing with my DNA. Hearing someone knock, I opened the door to find Silver.

"Hey, Shadow, is Sandy here?" he asked, smiling lightly.

"She's working, but if you need a Chaos emerald I'll get it for you." I offered.

He nodded and came in while I retrieved the emerald. Handing it to him, I asked, "What do you need it for anyway?"

"Sonic." He simply stated, not needing to explain any further.

That blue idiot will surely mess something up if he keeps taking emeralds just to time travel. Watching Silver leave, I grinned hoping Faker will get what deserves for time traveling without another person with him. Noticing day turn into dusk, I went to shower only to hear a soft thump. Opening the door to the lab, I gulped at seeing Sandy lying there.

Shaking her shoulder and getting no response, I picked her up and set her on her side of the bed. Getting out the shower, I realized she didn't move from where I put her. Setting a hand on her forehead, it didn't feel warm or anything. Letting out a sigh, I wrapped my arms around her, falling asleep an hour later.

A/N: Since I have school tomorrow, the chapters might come out late. But I am creating a one shot which might come next month or so. Review please.
