Reminded of you

A/N: I don't think I mentioned this, but most of the chapters from this point on will be based off songs. So enjoy.

Shadow's POV

I don't think I've bled this much before, how thrilling. Going in for another attack, I blocked his kick, countering with one of my own. "You don't think mom will be too mad, right?"

"I think she'll be more pissed if I tell her I beat you." I replied, sending a fist to his stomach. "I guess you've been practicing." I remarked, seeing how quickly he dodged.

He only nodded and kicked me, sending me into the wall. I chuckled and got up seeing a mixture of fear and pride on my son's face, I won't lie; he gets that from his mother. Locking hands with him to see who could overpower the other; I smirked and raised my energy not surprised at how he could stay standing.

He hit the ground, saying, "That's not fair, you used your energy."

Pulling him up, I replied, "Nothing's fair when you're fighting, boy. Matter of fact, I did the same thing with your mother."

"Um, do you need the pod? You're bleeding a lot." He asked, glancing over me.

Shaking my head, I retorted, "No, but you will. You can't heal on your own yet."

Hearing the door open, I looked seeing Faker standing there. Pointing back to the house, he uttered, "Sandy wanted to see you two."

I sighed, knowing exactly what she wanted. Leaving with Bryce in tow, I clenched my teeth as my last wound healed. Poking our heads in, I yelped at having my ear pulled on. "At least it, ow, isn't as bad as last, ah, time."

"I don't care, wait, who pinned who?" She asked, letting go of my ear for a while.

I rubbed it, answering, "I did. Geez, let go!" I yelled, as she latched onto it again. Looking over, I saw Bryce getting the same treatment.

"Not really, he used his, ouch, energy." He said, trying to loosen her grip on his ear. "Mom, let go."

My other ear twitched as I heard Faker laughing. "Okay, okay. We get it, Female, can you let go now?" I questioned, preparing to rip my ear off if necessary.

Letting go of our ears, she glared at both of us. "Bryce, go wait in the lab for me." She said, still maintaining eye contact with me. After he left, she sighed, saying, "What am I gonna do with y'all?"

"Train with us, you've been skipping out." I answered, earning another glare.

"That was a rhetorical question. Besides, I can't, I have a lot of work to do."

I shrugged, before saying, "I know. I don't like it when you lock yourself in the lab."

She smiled, taunting, "Aw, wittle Shadow cares about me."

"Whatever. Go put our son in the pod."

She nodded and left. Turning towards my blue look-a-like, I cleared my throat, asking, "You thought that was funny?"

He grinned, replying, "It was. I didn't think you'd be scared."

"How about the next time I train, you come with me?"

His grin faltered at that as he shook his head. He later frowned as he asked, "Do they ask about them?"

"The girls don't, I told the boys that I got them from war, and Female only knows." I answered, trying to block out the distant memory. I felt a shiver run up my spine, causing me to shake. Patting my arm, he walked past me and went back to the spare room.

I really don't want to be reminded of her. I swore I'd forget about it. Hell, she used anything she could get her hands on just to beat me with it. Was I not a good son like she wanted me to be? My mother, if I can call her that, treated me like I was nothing.

I groaned and decided to try to not think about her. Putting a fresh shirt on, I locked the door behind me and turned only to have a face full of black feathers. Growling, I said, "Edgar, I've told you not to do that."

"And I've told you that isn't my name, it's Saint." It cawed, settling down on my shoulder.

I scoffed, replying, "Well, now you have a new one. I'm guessing you named yourself?"

"Possibly, I'm a girl anyway, so the name Edgar doesn't fit." It screeched, flapping its wings thwacking me on the head.

"But you look like one, so I'm calling you Edgar. Also, it reminds me of the time you stole my pie."

"I didn't. Big pushed me and I fell into it." The raven cooed, now settling on my head.

"Sure you did, it's getting late, go home." I ordered, shooing it away. Deciding to head home myself, I unlocked the door to see Sandy sleeping on the couch; surely I wasn't gone that long.

Carrying her to bed, I showered and got in next to her, murmuring, "I'm glad you mother our children, and don't do the same things my mother did to me. I never want to relive that fear."

Feeling her wrap around me, I sighed and fell asleep peacefully.

A/N: Not much to say about this chapter. I might be getting sick, so the chapters might be late. Review please.
