Chapter 13.

"Serena! Serena! If you don't open this damn door within the next five seconds, I will open it with or without your permission!"

"What?" Serena opens the door to see Nate and Blair standing there, smiles on their faces.

"We're here to kidnap you." Blair states, pushing past Serena with Nate in tow. Serena sighs before closing the door and following the two inside, confusion etched on her face.

"I'm sorry. Kidnap?"

"S, sweetie..." Blair walks over to a still a bit sleepy Serena and takes the blonde's hand on her own. "...when was the last time you went out of this god forsaken apartment?"

Serena rolls her eyes at the brunette beside her before shooting Nate an annoyed look. They know that the last time Serena left her place was when Lily had her cake tasting. She never really leaves her apartment because a.) She was sick, b.) All her friends are busy with work and whatnot - not that she blames them because it really isn't their fault that she doesn't work, and c.) She doesn't wanna risk running into Dan and/or Georgina.

"I'm fine." Serena shrugs, pulling her hand away from Blair.

"I kinda miss your partying days, S. Even that's better than this."

"I just don't have anywhere to go and you guys are too busy with work."

"I know, I know." Blair sighs, turns to Nate and gestures for him to continue.

"Yes, and that is why we are kidnapping you." Nate says, goes to stand next to Blair before giving the blonde a cheeky grin.

"Now, get dressed Serena." Blair orders.

"Fine." Serena sighs in defeat, throwing her hands up in the air before stalking off towards the bedroom. "But we're getting coffee first... And bagels."

...

About an hour later, they left the apartment. Chuck had called to ask them where they are because it turns out that it was actually Chuck's idea to kidnap Serena. Serena snatched the phone from Blair's grasp to tell Chuck off to which he simply smirks - Serena can just tell without even seeing him in person - and tells her the she's too boring to be Serena van der Woodsen before hanging up.

They were two steps in the coffee shop and Nate was telling them something about The Spectator when Serena suddenly stops, freezes into place. Blair and Nate looks confused as they turned to Serena before noticing that the blonde's gaze was somewhere else. Following Serena's gaze, Blair groans before glaring at Nate, blaming him for suggesting that they get coffee there.

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me!"

"Maybe we should leave." Serena whispers, tugs at Blair's wrist before they all spin around, ready to leave when...

"Serena!"

Blair groans again, whacks Nate's arm harder than what Nate expected before turning towards the intruder along with Serena and Nate.

"Hey, uh, Georgina."

"Leaving so soon?" Georgina asks with a smirk. A cup of coffee on one hand, her purse on the other, she stands in front of the three friends, secretly overjoyed to be bumping into them.

"Why are you stalking us, Georgina?"

"Stalking you?!" Georgina quips, shooting Blair an annoyed look. "Why on earth would I waste my energy stalking you? Please, Waldorf, I've got better things to do."

"Then why the hell are you here?" Blair practically sneers at the brunette.

"For your information Blair, I was here first." Georgina laughs, sarcastically. "In fact, I was about to leave when you walked in. Are you stalking me, Blair?"

"As if. Why would I want to know where on earth you are? I'd rather not see you, ever."

"Don't worry, B, the feeling's mutual."

"Well..." Nate claps his hands together, grabbing Blair's arm in the process. "...Let's order some coffee then, shall we, Blair? Why don't you go get us a table, S?"

Blair huffs before allowing herself to be dragged by Nate towards the counter. Serena shifts uncomfortably before attempting to walk around Georgina in search for a table. However, Georgina spins and grabs her arm before she had he chance to do so.

"Look, I don't want any trouble Georgina." Serena sighs as she faces Georgina, whose grip on her becomes a little bit harder.

"Oh, don't worry, there won't be any." Georgina says and Serena nods, pulling her arm from the brunette's grasp.

"Okay, then."

"Just as long as you stay away from Dan."

Serena stops before turning back to her. Georgina is glaring at her so hard she's surprised that her former friend wasn't burning a hole through her body. Her warning shocks the blonde a bit because the last time she's seen or talked to Dan was when he took care of her when she was sick - he didn't even say goodbye to her then, she woke up to Blair and Eric staring at her - and honestly, she's trying to avoid the couple at all cost - even if it means locking herself inside her apartment.

"I'm not -"

"Look, I know what you're gonna say, Serena. That you haven't even seen him for a while now and that's probably true."

"It is -"

"He's been distant lately, avoiding me. And I can tell, even if he doesn't tell me, that he's been like that because of you, ever since you showed up and started ruining our lives. And you know what... Things were a lot easier for us - all of us when you weren't around. So, do me a favor and stop going after him, sweetie."

"Georgina -"

"He's my boyfriend, Serena. Not yours, not anymore." Georgina states, before spinning on her heel to walk out. She's got her hand on the door when she looks at Serena one last time. "He's mine now, Serena. Not yours."

And then she's gone.

...

"You know, the way I see it, Georgina Sparks sees you as a threat." Nate comments as the three of them sits down at the table near the windows. "Why else would she warn you like that if she didn't?"

"Because..." Blair starts, looking at Serena for a second before turning to Nate. "Georgina Sparks is a heartless, little bitch, that's why!"

"She told you that Dan's avoiding her, right?" Nate asks before taking a sip of his coffee.

"Humphrey's probably realized by now how goddamn awful Georgina's attitude is. Seriously, that woman's got serious issues."

"Or, he's realizing he's still in love with you." Nate comments, making both girls groan at him and making Serena whack his arm lightly.

"Nate! Don't make such assumptions, okay?" Blair screeches before leaning towards Nate, her voice dropping to a low whisper. "We don't want to get Serena's hopes up."

"I heard that!" Serena groans again before burying her head in between her hands.

"Serena, I - we are just looking out for you. We know you're still in love with -"

"I'm not, okay?" Serena argues, a little defensive that needed. "I'm not! I'm not even sure if we're even friends."

"You and Dan?" Nate snorts, chuckling a bit to himself. "When have you and Dan been friends? It's either you guys are together together or you guys are not together together, there's no in - between."

"I have to agree with Nate, S." Blair nods her head as she takes a sip of her coffee. "You and Humphrey aren't friends. There too much complications and feelings for the two of you to be 'just friends'."

"Why are we still talking about this?" Serena grunts in response, standing up and grabbing her cup of coffee. "We're done talking about this. Stop!"

"Where are you going?" Nate asks.

"Home."

"Serena -"

"You're not going home, Serena." Blair commands, grabbing the blonde's wrist. "We still have to swing by Chuck's."

"Yeah, we're planning on taking or dragging you to Victrola once Chuck finishes."

"Can I just skip on this one?" Serena sighs, but sits down anyway.

"No! Absolutely not, Serena!" Blair practically shrieks at her, causing a few people to glance at their direction.

"Blair..."

"Don't think I don't know what you're trying to do here, alright, S? Because I do." Blair states, her face etched with irritation that Serena's pretty sure was for her.

"B..."

"You lock yourself in your apartment just so you don't risk running into Dan and Georgina unexpectedly. And I get that it probably hurts seeing them together, but Serena, you can't let them control your life."

"I'm not. B, I just don't want to go out tonight." Serena says, grabbing her best friend's hand when the brunette sighs in disappointment. "Maybe we can stay in, order take-out and watch a movie?"

Blair groans but nods anyway. Beside her, Nate flashes both girls a grin, happy that this argument didn't turn into a fight between the girls and that he was not dragged into the argument by one of the girls.

"Alright, then." Nate claps his hands together before standing up along with Blair, pulling Serena up as well. "Let's get you home, blondie."

Both Serena and Blair giggle before whacking Nate's chest lightly, earning a grunt from the guy, who is smiling as well.

"I'm picking the movie."

"Sure, B, whatever you say."

...

"Oh, dear god no."

The three of them stop in front of Serena's apartment when they saw a very familiar - and according to Blair, very annoying as well - figure pacing back and forth in front of them. Said person suddenly stops and looks up to be met by three faces - one annoyed, the other two confused by his presence.

"Dan, hey!" Serena steps closer to him, pulling away from Blair's grasp, despite the brunette's reluctance. "What are you doing here?"

"I was just... Erm, I just wanted to stop by to check if you weren't sick anymore." Dan smiles sheepishly at the blonde in front of him, rubbing the back of head nervously. Not because of Serena but because of the brunette standing behind her.

"Oh, I'm fine now."

"Yes, well, clearly you can see that's she's alive and kicking..." Blair butts in, before anyone can even say another word. "...You may go now, Cabbage Patch."

He only nods before starting to leave and Blair half-expects Serena to call him back and maybe invite the guy to watch some movies with them - she will totally be opposed to the idea and she will try as much as she can to prevent that from happening. The blonde doesn't, just watches his retreating figure. It's all good, well, until...

"Dan!"

Great, just great.

"Yeah, man?"

"We are going to watch some movies, hang out and such, why don't join us?" Blair turns to Nate and rolls her eyes at him. Seriously, why is Nate friends with almost everybody?

"No, s'okay." Dan shrugs, glacing at Blair who's currently glaring daggers at him. "I can tell when I'm not wanted."

"I'm sure B won't mind? Right?" Nate nudges Blair's side and she turns to him, glare directed at him.

"Yes, in fact, I do mind, Nathaniel!" Blair shrieks, tempted to stomp at her friend's foot. She doesn't do that, instead she storms past all of them and into the apartment that Serena just opened the door of.

"It's fine, man. Really." Dan insisted when Nate looked like he wants to convince him further. "Just wanted to make sure Serena's okay."

Nate nods, before walking into the apartment, settling himself beside Blair, leaving Serena outside with Dan.

"Sorry about... Her. Really, she's just in a bad mood." Serena laughs a bit, closing the door behind her to give Dan and herself some privacy.

"Why?"

"You know B." She shrugs.

"Are you sure you're alright now?"

"Yes, Dan. I'm sure." She smiles warmly at him. "So, yeah, you can leave now. Or you can join us, whatever you want."

"Serena!" Blair's voice was heard from inside. "You better not be inviting Humphrey to join us. I will seriously hurt you if you come inside with Cabbage Patch with you!"

"I really should go." Dan states. Serena nods then suddenly Dan's wrapping his arms around her for a split second before pulling away.

"Yeah..."

"See ya around, S."

Then Dan walked away, leaving a stunned Serena behind, wondering what the hell just happened? It was only until Blair yells again that she snaps out of her trance.

"Serena!" Serena groans once again before entering the door.

.to be continued.
