Going Under
A/N: I just realized something, I haven't written a chapter in Sandy's perspective in quite a while. So here you go.
Sandy's POV
Yawning, I stretched my legs and curled up again, only to be pushed out of bed. "Did you really hafta do that?" I asked, bending over him.
Letting out a chuckle, he answered, "You needed to be woken up somehow. Besides you looked so damned peaceful, I just had to."
Rolling my eyes, I turned away from him, asking, "Don't you have work?"
"Surprisingly no; Commander said I was working too hard and gave me the week off." He answered, sitting up and stretching.
Glancing at him, I smiled walking past him into the lab. Looking at the metal box on the table, I groaned grabbing a wrench to try to finish it, seeing it was due next week. Probably after two or three hours, I stopped and admired my handiwork. Looks like I can turn it in early, hopefully. Unwrapping my bandage, I poked it and went into the door on the right.
Looking through the scrolls, I frowned barely seeing anything about the mark that etched itself on my arm. Finally giving up, I left the lab, only to have Sonic nearly crash into me.
"What?" I asked, retrieving clean bandages to hide it.
"Oh, nothing, you've just been in there for hours and…what's that on your arm?" He asked, grabbing it as curiosity slowly came upon his face.
Jerking my arm away from him, I answered, "A mark I got two days ago; I have no idea what it means."
He scratched his ear, asking, "Did you ever ask Rosie?"
"No, I…that's a great idea." I said, hugging him then leaving. Whistling softly, I waited until she slithered in front of me.
"So you do get marked. Turns out it was a royal symbol for the Romanov family." She stated, winding around it.
"I know there's another one, but which one was it?" I inquired, trying to remember and drawing a blank each time.
"The double headed eagle, as far as I know." She answered, settling next to me. "Jodi doesn't know, right?"
"Naw, I wouldn't, even if I could tell ma." I replied.
She nodded and left, wrapping my arm for me. Hearing the phone ring, I picked it up noticing it was a woman on the other line asking for Shadow. "Fluffy-Chan!" I called, holding out the phone for him.
Shaking his head, he took the phone from me, and immediately grew still, only murmuring a few times. A few seconds later, he hung up and looked at me, saying, "That was my mother, why you answered the phone I'll never know, but never call me that again."
Fiddling with my hands, I looked down, as he continued, "It's not your fault, and do I look fluffy?"
"Yeah, you do." I answered, smiling brightly.
Sticking his tongue out, I laughed and ruffled his quills. Noticing how quiet it was, I asked, "Where are the…"
"They wanted to go to Amy's and since I didn't want them walking to and fro alone; I asked Faker to go with them." He answered, smirking at whatever plan he had.
Quickly catching on, I punched him in the arm, replying, "I can't believe you did that. You are such an…"
"Ass."
"Yes, you're lucky I sent SpongeBob and Pat back home in the middle of the night."
He grinned, leaning towards me, saying, "Perfect, (1) Beute."
Pulling me into a chaste kiss, he murmured, "Ich liebe dich."
"It'd be nice if ya said it in English." I stated, absentmindedly rubbing my hands across his lower back.
Shaking his head, he rubbed my back pulling me closer to him. The abrupt ringing of the phone effectively broke our moment, much to my slight displeasure. Answering it, I stuttered, "M-ma? Oh, you're coming for a visit."
"Yeah, I bet my grandchildren miss me."
"Actually, they went over to Amy's for the week. So it's just Shadow and I."
Hearing something rustle on the other end, she replied, "That's fine. I've been meanin' to talk to him."
After saying our goodbyes, I hung up and turned to see Shadow on the couch, glaring at the phone. I smiled, mocking, "Is my little (2) dorogoy upset about a phone call?"
"Shut up, I heard she wanted to talk to me. Translation: she wants to argue with me about something I know I'm doing right." He replied, messing with his gloves.
"I doubt it, y'all just have…differences." I concluded, plopping next to him.
He scoffed, saying, "I'm telling you she doesn't like me. She threatened to kill me. Speaking of which, did you ever tell them about you know who?"
"Yeah, they were happy about it. I just didn't tell 'em who killed him."
"We're talking about Calvin right?"
"Oh, no, I didn't tell 'em. I thought you were?"
He shook his head in response knowing one of us will have to tell them. Resting my head on his shoulder, I yawned trying to keep my eyes open for a while longer and falling asleep instead.
A/N: Sorry this is so short; I've been busy with school. I there are any questions don't hesitate to ask, and I'm not sure when the next chapter will be out. Also, that mark on her arm in fanon, there is no symbol for the Romanov family like that. The double headed eagle is. Review please.
