My heart lied
A/N: I have my tablet, and right now I'm trying to figure out how to use it. It's a bit hard. Anyway, the deeper we get into the story, more stuff will happen. And the sooner it'll end.
Sandy's POV
This shouldn't be so active, or at least happen at random moments. "Excuse me, Ms. Cheeks, but are you alright?" My boss asked, concern lacing its way through his words.
I nodded, answering, "Yes, I'm fine." Not bothering to correct him on my surname.
Leading me over to a bellboy, he asked, "Could you check us into our rooms, please?"
He smiled, saying, "Of course."
The professor looked at me, since he clearly hadn't learned Russian. Sighing, I translated, "He said 'Of course.'"
He nodded after being handed the key. The bellboy pulled me aside, asking, "Ma'am, by any chance, are you Russian yourself?"
I nodded as he glanced at my bandaged arm, and left. Going to the room, I fell face first onto the bed letting out a sigh. 'Female.'
'Hm?' I answered, getting a mental image of Shadow.
'My mother's here. That bastard said he'd keep her away from me.' He ranted, running a hand through ebony and crimson quills.
'Who? You have the kids right?' I asked, sitting up slightly.
'Yes, I have them. My father, goddammit, what am I supposed to do now?'
'Calm down, I'm sure you can figure something out without causin' collateral damage.'
'If you think so.' He scoffed, hanging up before I could reply. Burying my face into the pillow, I gasped lightly at seeing a light blue aurora coming from a castle along with a cavalry rushing towards it.
"Ma'am, are you alright?" The bellboy asked, shaking my shoulder. Snapping back to reality, I nodded noticing it was the same one from earlier.
I frowned, glaring at him, asking, "How did you get in?"
He scratched the back of his head, holding up a key, apologizing, "I'm sorry; your boss, I believe, wanted me to check on you."
"Well, I'm perfectly fine, Mr…" I paused, not asking for his name earlier.
"Pavlov." He finished for me, shaking my hand.
I smiled, reassuring, "Mr. Pavlov, I assure y'all I'm fine."
He nodded briefly and turned to leave before saying, "I hope you enjoy your stay, Ms. Cheeks."
Reginald must've told him that, going over to close the door, I called, "It's Hedgehog."
Plopping back on the mattress, I slid underneath the covers taking in the décor, before allowing sleep to knock its way in.
Sitting up, I found myself entangled in sheets and in someone's arms. Getting out of them, I found myself nearly bare; shuddering lightly I threw on a white dress, stepping outside. Snow covered the ground, the only thing off is it was crimson and black with soot and what seemed like blood. Picking up on the faint beating of hooves, I turned coming face to face with a stallion.
"You leave for a convention, and a war starts without me. That's not fair." He uttered, giving me his hand.
Taking it and settling myself upon the horse, I retorted, "It's not like it'll actually happen."
"That Pavlov guy…" He started, galloping away from the small cottage I was in. "He makes any advances towards you; I swear I'll kill him if he even looks at you in that way."
I laughed, holding onto him tighter, joking, "Possessive much, Shadow?"
Kicking the horse into a full sprint, he chuckled, answering, "Maybe."
A/N: I just felt like adding a dream sequence, and there might be more. Anyway, I'm sorry this was so short, I have tests coming up. But I'm not worried about it, so no big deal. Any questions? Review please.
