Battle Born

A/N: With this whole TPP thing going on, I might not post for a bit while I'm trying to get as much information as I can about this.

Werewolf lover99: I don't think I'll make a sequel, turning this into a series of sorts. But if I do by some chance, I'll try not to make it super long, and the children and whatnot will make an appearance or have some attention.

Shadow's POV

Rolling over, I felt a sudden urge to dig around in the closet and find my military uniform. It's probably covered in dust by now, but with my mother showing up; I don't think I need any more triggers. Getting up, I stretched and stepped into the bathroom, asking, "How long have you been up this time?"

Poking her head out of the lab door, she answered, "Um, two hours, goin' on three."

I grunted in reply and decided to get dressed. Planning to take a walk that was short lived once I felt my mother in law's energy drop drastically. Rushing towards her, I stopped seeing her back turned. Looking down, I frowned and plucked Steve up carrying him to the living room.

"What are you doing?" I asked, dropping him on the couch.

"I was looking for you; I was going to ask that lady, but you pulled me away from her." He answered, crossing his arms and huffing in annoyance.

"That lady was my mother in law, and she doesn't know about you or them; I intend to keep it that way." I explained, glaring daggers at him.

He twiddled his thumbs for a while before looking up at me, asking, "Can I come back tonight? Black Doom wanted me to tell you something."

I groaned, answering, "Fine, but you will leave right after."

He nodded and saluted me, much to my chagrin, leaving a minute later. Turning, I stopped seeing Bryce frown as he asked, "Thanks a lot for not telling me when I asked."

"I know it was wrong, but I didn't want you guys to worry or feel scared." I declared, setting a hand on his head.

He pouted, saying, "But you were…"

"I know, and it hurt me more ways than one. Just know that I wouldn't dare put you guys through that." I interrupted, chuckling softly.

He nodded, clearly satisfied with my answer and left. Going towards the lab, I gulped at being pulled in faster than I could fire a bullet. Shoving a package and pill in my face, she asked, "Can you take this to Mr. Pavlov? I'm sort of swamped with stuff, so I won't have time."

Taking it from her, I replied, "You have time to ask me to run an errand, but you don't have time to train."

She sighed softly and went back to work, ignoring my statement. Leaving, I swallowed the pill and broke the ocean surface swimming towards where the majority of our relationship started. Opening the door, I shook myself dry and knocked while making sure the package wasn't damaged. Glancing up and meeting cerulean orbs, I tossed him the package and turned to leave.

(1) "Spasibo."

I grunted in reply, and left hoping I wouldn't see that sponge and his friend. I guess I could go for that walk down here, not like it'll hurt. Coming upon the tavern, I grinned at seeing someone fly out of it letting a chorus of yells and breaking glass fill my ears. Passing by it, I smirked deciding not to get into any trouble. Continuing my walk, I turned getting the feeling as if someone was following me.

Shrugging it off, I jumped at being grabbed and having a rag pressed to my mouth. Mentally swearing, I suddenly felt sluggish and unable to fight back. Struggling to keep my eyes open, I failed letting darkness engulf my mind. Waking up after what seemed like an hour, I groaned at the pulsating headache rushing forward.

Taking in my surroundings, I noticed how girly it was, well girly enough for Amy to dislike it. Looking towards the window, I swore under my breath noticing the lock was on the other side of it. So my option of going out the window is out. Hearing the door open, I turned prepared to defend myself. Dropping my stance, I muttered, "You've got to be kidding me."

A/N: I'm back, peoples! I'm been swamped with testing at school, so I haven't had time to update anything! The next chapter will make a bit longer, and will revolve a bit around Sandy's mother and her motives. Sorry it's so short though. Any questions? Rev-

Maria: If I remember correctly, you never wrote a chapter referring back to chapter 14.

Right, that'll be discussed also. Review please.
